Room was clean and well presented. when showering the water leaked into the room area. The bed also did not have a headboard to isolate the cold from the wall.

- R.Schmidt79 (9/5): Sehr modern, technisch sehr gut ausgestattet - Die Freundlichkeit der Mitarbeiter hat mir sehr gut gefallen. Auch die technische Ausstattung im Zimmer und im Allgemeinen im Hotel ist ein Alleinstellungsmerkmal. Die Lage in Franschoeck ist sehr gut. Angenehm ruhige Gegend. Das Frühstück ist auch sehr gut. Den großen Tisch finde ich eine gute Idee. Vielleicht kommen so auch die Gäste untereinander ins Gespräch. Man hat im Zimmer leider keine Wandhaken, wo man zum Beispiel Kleidung deponieren kann. Auch Ablagen sind im Zimmer eher wenig. Das Bad ist sehr geräumig. Beim Duschen macht man gefühlt alles nass. Eine Trennwand wäre hier angebracht. Durch die Größe, hat bestimmt noch die Möglichkeit eine Ablage hineinzustellen. Ein Stuhl oder eines anderes Möbelstück als Ablagemöglichkeit.

The place is very conveniently located and easy to find, just a 3 minute drive to Franschhoek main street and not much further to get to the wine estates and restaurants we wanted to visit. The staff are super welcoming and friendly as well as professional. They made us feel at home throughout our stay. Our room was beautiful and clean and the breakfast was lovely. This place is clearly very well managed and the staff are passionate about their business. We will absolutely be back.

The open plan spacious modern room is beautiful designed and felt comfortable and luxurious. The breakfast was a highlight with a great variety of delicious option to choose from. We also enjoyed the heated pool. The water pressure of the shower was very low.

The location was perfect for a quick overnight while attending a wedding. The room was very close to the honesty bar and breakfast dining area. Fine for a solo traveller or couple but probably not ideal for a family.

- Shaper (5/5): Disappointing. - Rooms are big and beds are good. Location outside of the centre of the village (but walkable) meant it was quiet. Good to have a pool in hot weather. The design tries to be clever and modern, but misses the mark. Basics like NO BEDSIDE LIGHTS, so have to get out of bed to turn off the harsh blue overhead lights. Breakfast was a joke - our coffee orders were wrong over and over again, and then coffee was seriously substandard. The dogs running around barking didn't make it peaceful. Wasn't good value for money. Looked a lot better in the photos than it was in real life.

- Gaelle (10/5): Great stay in Franschhoek! - The rooms are nice and clean, and the location is splendid. The common areas are enjoyable, a glass near the pool is perfect! Wine tram terminal is a 5 minutes drive or 20 minutes walk and the whole neighborhood is safe. The toilet in the room is really small 😂 that was the only minus point.

- Marcus (9/5): The Lab ist ein TIP! - Ich hatte ein schönes und großes Zimmer. Das Bett war sehr gemütlich mit vielen Kissen zur Auswahl. Das Frühstück wird mit viel Liebe individuell gemacht! Sehr lecker! The Lab liegt etwas weg von der Hauptstraße - ist aber tagsüber super zu laufen und abends per Uber! Alles in allem hat mich The Lab sehr positiv überrascht!! - alles super!

- Pauline (9/5): Une très bonne adresse à Franschhoek - Bien situé et au calme, la rue principale de Franschhoek est accessible à pied. La chambre était très spacieuse et confortable. Le petit déjeuner était vraiment top, copieux et parfaitement préparé. Malheureusement nous n’avons pas pu profiter du jacuzzi car il avait subi des réparations dans l’après midi et n’était pas chaud le soir lorsque nous avons voulu y aller.

- gillian (8/5): Value for money accommodation - Good value for money but quite a distance from Franschhoek centre. We were just passing through so not a problem. Staff were all lovely. Immaculately clean. Breakfast quite basic - butter prepacked, milk sterilised. Bath impossible to run as couldn't use plug effectictively
- Neal (9/5): Very nice, unusual property! Good facilities. - The LAB is unusual in its concept; the rooms are very sparse, clean lines, minimalist. Staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfasts were of good quality. There was a very relaxed atmosphere within the LAB, which was welcome. The centre of Franschhoek was only a 15-20 minute walk so no need to consider parking issues. There was a nice pool area to the rear with several sunbeds and chairs. There was no division between rooms, which could be an issue for some as there was no privacy and, if using the bathroom at night, there was a good chance partners would also be disturbed or wakened. Our windows were completely opaque which meant that we could not see outside towards the front of the building, with only small open aspect to the rear. It therefore felt a little claustrophobic not knowing what was happening outside. All rooms to the front of the property seemed to have similar window features.

- Yolandi (10/5): We will definitely stay there again. - The LAB is very modern and high tech, totally new experience and it was amazing. The staff is so friendly and accommodating, we could even leave our luggage there when we went on the wine tram. It will be great if the bathroom light can have a manual switch as well so it doesn't go on when you go to the bathroom in the early hours of the morning. Just a suggestion, I wouldn't say this was a negative point at all.

- Sonny (9/5): Bekvämt o tryggt trots hotfulla bränder. - Trevlig personal. Bra frukost. Trevlig frukost o poolarea. Lite speciell inredning där toaletten, i o för sig är avskärmad, men i övre delen är en del av övriga rummet. Man kan exvis inte tända belysning specifikt på toaletten utan tänder samtidigt i hela rummet. Bra parkering. En bit att gå till centrum men också en fördel om man vill ha lugnt. Vid vår vistelse extra tufft då det pågick svåra bränder i närheten på bergssidan, åtföljande el-avbrott och vattenavbrott. Chefen o personalen hanterade detta mkt bra. Se ovan. Förslag: montera en smärre belysning vid toaspegeln.

- Karma (7/5): My favourite dog-friendly escape - Great location and love that it's dog-friendly. Brought my pup and she had the best time! Love the pool area, it's just a lovely, casual, relaxing escape. The staff are super friendly and cute The noise at breakfast was really annoying. Some of the rooms at this hotel are situated in the main house/building, and the staff don't bother to close the doors that lead to the breakfast area/kitchen, and they tend to talk very loudly, too. If you're wanting to sleep in after 7:30am I would suggest making sure to book a room far away from the kitchen. I also unfortunately experienced more than one guest who very clearly were not dog friendly and who made a scene about the dogs barking a few times. Don't stay at a dog-friendly hotel if you don't want to be around dogs? Pretty straight forward. Unfortunately the breakfast at this hotel is not to my liking, but there are so many great options in the main road so it didn't bother me too much.

- Boudewijn (8/5): Well appointed B&B in central location with lovely staff - Nice breakfast, well appointed house (villa 2) but with tiny garden and only semi-private access as people from next door used same driveway - villa 1 is more private with slightly larger garden Smell in main bedroom/ensuite and unfortunately someone in staff cleaning outside furniture with bleach, ruining clothes (but trust that will not happen again)
