• William (10/5): Pleasant streamside cabin. - Good communication in advance. Cabin is steps away from the Linville River. Large field near cabin great for frisbee or playing catch with baseball gloves. About 15 minutes from a decent-sized grocery store.

One could easily spend a week or more doing various activities as well as visiting the local businesses and being surrounded by all the natural beauty. There is a winery and a bakery nearby. The cabins are unique well built and very comfortable. You can really enjoy the natural setting right by the river. The host is great! He is very accommodating and accessible and knows you didn’t come there to see him. We will be back again but for a longer stay next time.

• Joshua (2/5): - Booked the cabin on Expedia, I chose pet friendly properties. On the way to the cabin we call ahead to let them know we will be late. My wife told them we had our dog and 2 kids with us. They charged us $95 for the dog being unauthorized, even though there was no spot for me to say I had a dog for me. They charged us another $40 for having kids with us. Which doesn't make sense, it's a 6 person cabin and it's not like they had to go out of their way to make accommodations for the kids. They also let us know that because we had a dog we weren't allowed to have blankets or bedsheets. When we arrived they actually took the blankets and bedsheets from the cabin. This also was not listed on the expedia page, middle of January in the North Carolina mountains in a SNOW STORM. Knowing we had kids with us they had their priorities. Throughout the trip, non stop text messages from the park manager who lived next door to the cabin inches away to the level of harassment. It was beyond annoying. Completely ruined this getaway. Every couple of hours another text message. Throughout the cabin it's filled with notes everywhere about all the didn't things they will charge your credit card for.

• Tanner (6/5): - I stayed here for one night after an App state game with my partner. We booked it specifically to warm up in a cozy cabin/hot tub. When we got there the hot tub was broken and the owner/manager failed to mention that it “broke only a day ago.” After asking for a partial refund, they refused saying that they “should have charged us a cleaning fee” and that would make up for the broken hot tub. Overall my experience wasn’t the worst here but it could’ve been a lot better. If I had previously known the hot tub wasn’t working and of they agreed to a refund in some amount for false advertisement then this cabin would be worth staying at again.

• Maureen (10/5): - Quiet, peaceful location for a mid- week getaway with our grandson so we could take him to Linville Caverns. Being on the river and hearing the peacefulness of the water flowing while relaxing in the hot tub on the covered porch was a great experience. The cabin was clean and comfortable for the 3 of us. The bedroom area has very little walking space around the bed so a larger person may feel confined, but it was okay with us. It was a great experience, and I highly recommend it.
• Kevin (10/5): - Had that home away from home feel. Didn't even check-in face to face. Checked in and out via text. Key was provided by a lockbox which we were given a code for. Cabin was exceptionally clean. EVERYTHING was provided. (Besides food and drink of course) Perfectly nestled in the trees right next to the river. My morning coffee has never tasted so good while on the deck listening to the river and birds. Though the cabins next door may have been somewhat close, it still felt as though my wife and I were out there all alone since everyone else seemed to want to enjoy the peaceful serenity offered by these cabins. Location is within 20-30 minutes of about all sites and places of interest in the area. I cannot recommend this place more, and my wife and I are already planning on returning in the near future. We've been on several vacations through the years and stayed at many, many places, but Linville River Log Cabins ranks as one of the absolute best!!

This is out in the country so there wasn’t many stores near by but we found a nice little mom and pops restaurant and if you drink the nearest store is in a “dry county” There we’re plenty of towels, full kitchen and extra tissue and everything you needed. I have never been more satisfied!

Communication was open throughout our stay - the owner sent a text to check in and make sure everything was going well. 20/10 will stay again, will recommend to family and friends.

The hot tub on the porch overlooking the river is very relaxing. Our 14 yr. old son slept comfortably on the pullout sofa. Very clean. Owner was very responsive and nice. Nice hiking trail on site on the river. A few minutes drive to town, Linvillle Falls, Linville Falls Winery, and about 20 minutes away from skiing, shopping, and more more restaurants. A great spot to get away from it all.

I brought extra supplies and linens in case the ones in the cabin did not meet my standards of cleanliness. Those things were left in the car. The only thing we needed were coffee filters. I texted the owner and he hand delivered them that day.

Received a text the morning of check in with instructions, when we got there Shane came by and said hey and to let him know if we needed anything. Wonderful cabin and the hot tub was excellent. The internet and mobile phone was weak, but it’s never great in the mountains anyway.

• Holly (10/5): - The cabin was beautiful and perfectly situated on the river. The huge porch, with rocking chairs and hot tub, made a perfect spot for sitting and listening to the river. The cabin itself was very tidy and well equipped. It checked all the boxes on our wish list for a vacation rental. In addition to the hot tub, fireplace and kitchen, we were happy to find a washer and drier in the unit as well! Check in was very easy and the owners sent a follow up text message to be sure we didn’t need anything. I have nothing but positive things to say about this rental except that I was very sad to leave it!

• Greg (10/5): Cozy riverside cabin - Cozy cabin right on the river. With the windows open you can hear the water trickling over the rocks. Comfy beds, plenty of pillows and blankets. The boys loved hanging out in the loft bedroom. We will definitely be coming back. If you take advantage of this hidden gem, keep your eyes peeled. The turn off the main road will sneak up on you quick.

• Broiler (8/5): - The cabin was not a typical log cabin but built more like a shotgun house. It was nice overall and sat right on the Linville River. The hot tub on the porch was enjoyable. There was satellite TV but the WiFi and internet coverage was weak. I was totally satisfied with our stay except for 2 things. The most important thing was that the stove needs to be updated and the pots and pans were pitiful. They were old, scratched and mismatched. The next thing is there was very few instructions on how to operate the equipment on the premises. There were rules posted everywhere but no helpful hints. All in all it was an enjoyable stay, but could’ve been better.
• David (10/5): Great stay will at GMHG. - We had a great stay at the Linville River Log cabins. We stayed in Mountain River while enjoying the Grandfather Mountain Highland Games. We were just 9 miles from GMHG parking area. The cabin was great for our 25th anniversary getaway. There was a beautiful view of the river and we had privacy as the cabin was spaced well away from the next cabin.

• Raymond (10/5): Perfect Anniversary Getaway - My wife and I visited Linville River Log Cabins for our 20th anniversary. The owner, Shane, was more than easy going and a pleasure to work with. His daughter, Jennifer, greeted us with an anniversary basket and card for our celebration. Throughout our time there, everything was peaceful and very relaxing. I was even able to catch a few trout for dinner. We will MOST DEFINITELY be going back whenever we can!
• Jerry (8/5): - My girlfriend and I stayed in the "Let it Snow" cabin this past weekend. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay. Here are my thoughts: PROS: Staff members Shane and Jennifer were very friendly. Clean! Great location by Boone/Blowing Rock/Grandfather Mountain Fully stocked kitchen with everything you need to cook and eat in. 2 person hot tub was great. Located right next to the Linville River. Satellite TV had premium channels, HBO, Showtime, etc... CONS: Though it has A/C, it isn't central, so the back room gets a little warm, unless you use the box fan that they provide to move the air back there. Both the bed (a little soft and dipping in the middle) and futon are past their prime and need to be replaced. Hot water breaker was off, which we didn't realize until I tried to take a shower. Turned it on, and had no issues after that. My girlfriend and I would stay here again.
• Verified traveler (8/5): Great concept! - Loved the location and the idea of this setup. The execution could be improved. AC unit (not central) threw small rubber pieces on the futon making it seem dirty all the time. Towels were small. No daily housekeeping as listed but still paid an extra $50.00 cleaning fee while required to take out own trash. Jetted hot tub was excellent, but shock treatment bleached our suits. Loved the nature views and river view 30 feet from the cabin. The bed was on the soft side, but personal opinion. Owner acknowledged our stay but gave us our privacy. Didn't ask for any assistance with anything listed.....just enjoyed the beautiful location.
• Lourdes (10/5): Beautiful Getaway - Beautiful place by the river. Great for fishing! Cabins are cute and clean. The owners, Jennifer and Shane, are very kind and attentive. We enjoyed our stay very much! We will be back for sure!
