Guest Reviews
- rachelsN7648FY (2/5): Horrible - I stayed last night here. That was the worst experience I have ever had in a hotel. When I first checked in, they assigned me to room 202. I had all my belongings and went to the room, the ac unit was in pieces on the floor, bard not made. Went back to the desk and asked for a different room, they then assigned me to 214. I got in, no towels and no ice bucket. Luckily, I had my own cup but I had to go to the 4th floor to get ice. And no swimming pool or hot tub. And to top it off a roach crawled across me as I was laying in bed. I will not be back. For the $93 I spent, I expected better and could have had a better place.
- NorthStar24396753992 (8/5): It was ok - TV had to be replaced shower door was stuck my wife couldn't open it I barely got it open. Next time I will choose else where
- Karen (8/5): - We booked this for the indoor pool and what i thought as a hot tub. It was cold like the pool. Its the only low score. The rest of of visit was A+. Would visit again and stay here
- Arnold (10/5): - Always a good place to stay
- Deborah (2/5): - The room was dirty 219 last Saturday was milk in the drawer not in the refrigerator but in the drawer the toilet paper holder was broke the blow dryer didn't work the ice machine didn't work for two or three
- Erik (10/5): - Pet friendly, nice environment, breakfast was good and filling! Overall satisfaction for our stay
- Leandra (10/5): - Almost perfect
- Rogelio (10/5): - The room and bathroom were clean
Breakfast was good đ
Keep up the good job
The only thing carpets need to be up dated
- Irma (6/5): - My stay at this hotel was a mixed experience. On the positive side, the beds and pillows were very comfortable, which made for a good nightâs sleep. The breakfast was also enjoyable, and the location is convenient, being close to several fast food places and a pharmacy.
However, the condition and cleanliness of the room were disappointing. I found other peopleâs belongings behind the nightstand, the phone wasnât plugged in, and the TV was broken. The shower had visible mold, the mirrors were dirty, and there were spiderwebs in the room. Some tiles were missing, the walls had stains, the couch was ripped, and the remote was missing its battery cover.
Overall, while I appreciated the comfortable bed, breakfast, and location, the room itself needs much better cleaning and maintenance.
- deanmN1685UQ (10/5): Great experience - The staff was great, rooms were clean and the manager Christina was a riot. The price was right. I was expecting some biscuits and gravy as well for breakfast but breakfast was good.
- Robert (2/5): - No water pressure, no towels, no tissue. Empty! Dirty hot hall way, smelly elevator.
Too bad, great location.
- Shawnna (4/5): - We traveled to Corpus Christi to go fishing for our sonâs birthday. When we returned from the pier, we discovered that there was no hot water and the shower was running and would not shut off. So all night we listened to the shower running.
- charlia (6/5): Not clean - Was given a filthy room at first, had to drag all our bags back to desk to wait for them to assign us a clean room.
- Joyce (2/5): - This was the dirtiest place Iâve ever stayed at. I am so disappointed that Wyndham rented this room and hotel for unsuspecting guests. This stay for our 57 year wedding anniversary celebration was sadly disappointing but that couldnât take our happiness away. Joyce Linson
- Elliott (4/5): - Needs a rem
- Karla (2/5): - Lobby seems clean and well maintained but as soon as you get to the elevators and carpeted hallways itâs downhill. Carpets are stained and the hallways smell dirty. The room did not smell clean and fresh, it smelled moldy. We realized the carpet was wet due to leaky AC unit, spread halfway through the room. The restroom was dirty: toilet had drops of blood and shower had strands of hair and dust left behind. There was a cockroach in the bathroom in the middle of the night.
- melissa (2/5): Donât waste your time or money - DIRTY! Nothing clean about this hotel. Dead roaches, dirty rooms, rusted stained pool floor, horrible breakfast, terrible overall stay
- miguelbC1321BZ (6/5): Deserved a 4-star, but... - I had corporate pre-approval for 1 pm late checkout when I did my reservation several days before. On check out day I was told I had to leave at 12 noon. I explained I had approved late check out at 1pm and had the message and screen capture of it. The receptionist called the manager, and he again denied to honor my pre approval. I cannot trust what their website offers any more. I'm a Platinum member, close to Diamond. I use this hotel often, and I always thought that being a 3-star hotel wasn't fair. I could have given them a 4 or 5 star, but the management ruined it. Everything else is just fantastic. I'm just disappointed about the way I was treated by the local management. Maybe they can update their policy on their website to retain credibility. Perhaps their rating can go from 3-star to a 4 or 5?
I tried to upload my .jpg screen shot but get "wrong format error".
- Abigail (2/5): Hotel needs major overhaul - Facility was dirty, carpets were stained all throughout hotel, nothing worked, had no remote to tv and front desk couldnât find a remote that matched my TV. When I entered my hotel room there was a hanger holding the curtains up. I was sure what was going on so I went down and front desk said sheâd send maintenance a notification, which they never showed up! Ice makers brown, water filters broken, very little water pressure, no toiletries, room was hot throughout the night. Pool was dirty, looked like filter system was broken.
- Judy (10/5): - The staff was very friendly and professional. The room is clean and big. Love the set up.
- Vinh (4/5): - Noisy, no wifi
- Michael J. (8/5): It was ok. We were tired - Starting to show age. The a/c had wires hanging out we had no curtain only a broken shade
- Natasha (6/5): - The staff wasn't available I had to wait for someone to come to desk for help..took about 20 minutes.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Wonât stay again - Clogged sink, no hot water in shower was bad. Booked a room for three and had to go get a roll away cot ourselves from the lobby because the 1 room with a pullout sofa was âout of service.â Had to get an ice bucket from another room ourselves because ours didnât have one. Not a working ice machine on our floor. Had a roach crawl across our table while eating our breakfast in the dining area. Will not be returning.
- Mario (8/5): - Breakfast itâs bad
- Natalie (6/5): - There was no one cleaning the hotel. There was trash in the stairwell and on the steps as well as dead roaches. Pieces of sheetrock and plastic utensils on the floor. Carpets needed vacuuming. Fitness center had no water or towels and none of the equipment would turn on. Just blank screens. One water machine and womenâs restroom stall out of order. Facility needs revamping and a lot of repairing. The elevators worked great though and the card readers were very fast.
- 85kelsyl (2/5): UNSAFE!!! THEFT OF MULTIPLE ITEMS, NO RESOLUTION!!! - We stayed at the Wingate by Wyndham on SPID in Corpus Christi, and it was one of the worst hotel experiences weâve ever had.
While we were out, maintenance entered our room to âfixâ the AC. When we returned, we discovered that multiple valuable items had been stolen (headphones, a camera, a luggage tracker, and more), and that all of our personal belongings had been rummaged through. The maintenance worker admitted to seeing some of the items before they went missing, but management has offered no help or solution.
To make things worse:
⢠No cameras on the guest room floors, despite what staff originally claimed.
⢠The system that tracks who enters rooms âwasnât workingâ when we asked for proof of who accessed our room.
⢠The manager on duty showed no concern and made no offer to reimburse or even meaningfully investigate the theft.
Beyond the theft, the hotel itself is in awful condition:
⢠Wet, damp carpets that made the entire room feel humid (more humid than outside).
⢠Cockroaches present in the room.
⢠General maintenance and cleanliness issues everywhere.
This property is unsafe, poorly maintained, and completely mismanaged. We left feeling violated and deeply disappointed. If you value your belongings, your safety, and basic comfort, do not stay here.
- Josh (6/5): - Location was perfect. But room were only cleaned upon request. WiFi was terrible and canât watch anything on the TV. Staff was amazing and very helpful. Just didnât like changing out our own sheets.
- Kristy (6/5): - Items banned to be fixed.
- Brenda (10/5): - The smell of moisture and stains all over the ceiling of the room. There were only 2 pillows and only 2 towels. And something bites on my legs, back and arms. It was only a stay of six hours to sleep, but the window don't let me. was only a white thing on the window, and the light in the room was ridiculously bright.
- Rachel (4/5): - We checked in but we were given keys to an occupied room. The beds were made but we found bags in the closet. The desk clerk was notified immediately and ahe askes me to bring down the bags. There was too many so I asked her to get them. She called back only to let us know the room was occupied so we exited quickly to change rooms. This really could of been an escalated issue if we would of walked in on the guests already occupying the room. Our new room was tidy but not clean, the desk, and drawers were clearly sticky and not clean. There appeared to be black mold growing around the base of shower. I had stayed here once before and had no issues. I will not be staying at this location any time soon. The clerk issued no apology for the error. Very dissapointed in our stay.
- kenneth (8/5): - the indoor pool was nice, except to much chemical in the pool. the water pressure in the shower was minimal, but, overall the stay was very enjoyable. the staff was very professional and the breakfast was good.
- Jana (6/5): - The staff was hospitable and polite. I really thought the front desk employees were great. However the property inside and out lacked maintenance care and it seemed like something was either broken or not working properly. One of our key cards werenât working and tried to get it handled twice to no avail we gave up and just stuck to one key card. The outsideâs trash bin was so overfilled with garbage and dog poop bags itâs no wonder the surrounding area was filled with dog poop. We arrived in the evening and the second floors air was so hot it has to be broken, the room itself was ok, the air seemed to work there but couldnât get the A/C to cool enough get the room to the temp I would have liked. I responded to the general welcome text explaining the issues and there was no, âWeâre sorry, weâll send someone to help or try this..â it was an automatic, âWould you like to switch rooms?â My husband didnât want to come off as a problem so we stayed throughout. It wasnât the worst but thereâs definitely room for improvement.
- Timothy (6/5): - Hot tub does not work at all / pool cold. Breakfast was good đ shower mold and mildew. / ice makers and washer/ dryers not working. Needs maintenance and upkeep
- Edwin (6/5): - Breakfast needs improvement. Nothing was working.!
- Rodrigo (10/5): - Enclosed fencing for safety of vehicles
- Paula (2/5): - Checked in and my room was given to someone else by mistake. The shower was full of mold, toilet bowl was chipped, tile on floor was lifting, very filthy carpet, found hair on my clean towels, no orange juice or coffee for breakfast. Will not be staying there again.
- Johnny (6/5): Go with your instinct - Overall my stay was ok, pictures on Hotel.com were inaccurate, i expected alot more fir the price i paid to stay there. We did swim but the hot tube was broken which i was looking forward to. The pool itself looked dirty and smelled bad so diffently would not stay again for $200 a night.
- Linda (8/5): Very good -
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The rooms were not very well vacuumed from the start. Our room never got cleaned our entire stay and because of that me and my partners skin broke out. The breakfast was okay but it always came out cold. There was not enough tables to sit at. Donât want to stay here again
- Maria (4/5): - It looked really dirty. Staff was nice but I would not book again.
- Tabitha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jaime (4/5): - Not to far from the beach.
- Larry (2/5): - Absolutely the nastiest place ive ever been
- John Anthony (4/5): - Tiles in restrooms were broken. Dirty carpet dirty hallways. Flickering lights no cleaning staff
- Verified traveler (4/5): My stay - Hallway is disgusting, the carpets are dirty and I saw the same wrapper on the floor for the three days I was there.
There were items missing from the room, and it smelled like mold.
- Nicolas (10/5): It was a awesome stay - It was very clean the staff was very friendly I dont have anything bad to say
- gabrielgO7621UB (10/5): Right in the heart of Corpus. - The room was quiet and the bed comfortable. The receptionist was very kind and professional. We got a great midweek rate for a very modern room.
- Estela (10/5): - Great place had alot of great restaurants near by and the beach was about 10-15 mins away!
- Chantel (4/5): Disappointing -
- Alejandro (2/5): - Booked rooms , show up at property, turns out they are booking rooms even though they have none available, still waiting on refund , when Expedia reached out , they wouldnât answer phone
- Shannon (4/5): - I stayed at this hotel for my fatherâs funeral. Having stayed at other Wyndham hotels, I expected a much better experience. Everything was dirty or in disrepair and there were roaches in my room. I didnât feel comfortable there but I had a non-refundable room. I wonât ever stay at a Wyndham again.
- Angel (4/5): - Room dint have a remote and the restroom was dirty
- Graciela E (6/5): - Customer service was helpful, the downfalls, we were on the 2nd floor, exiting the elevator, the carpets are filthy, were not vacuumed, the room was clean, the shower curtain was way too short, while showering the floor was getting wet. no shelfs or a place to put soap or items in the shower, water pressure was very low. Breakfast was ok- no butter for toast, coffee was cold. eggs and sausage were good. = I lost my earring and I reported it to the front desk and it was found and returned to me. Thank you.
- Sandra (2/5): - The place was horrible and unsafe. The shower had mold and didnât have any hot water. The mirror for the restroom had lighting around it but half of it was on and the other half was turned off. The carpet in the room had a lot of trash, you could tell they havenât vacuumed the carpet in a long time. The tables had stains on them and some areas were chipped. The bed sheets were definitely not washed and the pillow smelled bad. The cleaners never went to clean the hotel room. In the restroom mirror it had a sticker saying that they will always clean the hotel rooms but that never happened. The washer and dryer for the laundry didnât work so we had to go to a laundromat near by. There were also two cockroaches in the bathroom. The breakfast made us sick and the bagels were hard. In summary, I will NEVER stay in the hotel again.
- Anonymous (3/5): Probably will not stay here again - Location Room was advertised as queen beds, they seemed more like full sized beds. Only ice machine working was on the 4th floor, no laundry machines in working order. Toilet was clogged when we first got into the room, maintenance forgot to come unclog it until I reminded the front desk.wasnt able to use my AARP discount.
- Anonymous (1/5): Bad -
- Donnie (6/5): Subjective Review - Shower had mold and mildew in the cracksâŚthe carpets could use a steam cleaning. Staff was incredibly friendly and attentive. The building itself just needs attention and fine tuning.
- Anguiano (6/5): Pleasant -
- Raymond (2/5): - The room has a bad oder i wanted to cancel ama a refund but i don't think tissues possible
- Brandy (9/5): Superb -
- Nelda (10/5): Exceptional -
- James (4/5): - The accessible room I reserved was not available. I am disabled and was not notified until 5pm check in day.The room they substitute for was not very accessible. It was at the far end of the hallway. Specifically the shower was not very safe. They did provided a shower chair however the glass in the shower was very hard to move. There was also repairs happening in the hallway where I had to walk thru with my walker.
- Arturo (6/5): - breakfast was not good there was only bacon with no eggs.
- ROSALINDA (2/5): - Mold and hair in the shower. Heavily dirty carpets throughout
- Connie (4/5): Awful - The location was good. There were lots of restaurants and shops near by. The cleanliness of the hotel was terrible. We had mold at the ceiling your room on the second floor. The pool had mold at the ground.
- Eugenia (1/5): Bad -
- Eugenia (1/5): Bad -
- Ryan (10/5): Exceptional -
- LILLIAN (2/5): Dirty, poor services - The hotel was very dirty with roaches everywhere. We didn't get room service for 3 days. They didn't have enough towels even upon request. The swimming pool was extremely dirty. There was only 2 items for breakfast and nit enought for everyone. Worst stay i have ever experienced in a hotel
- Lopez (7/5): Good -
- Shawn (2/5): - Dirty everywhere
- Fiona (4/5): - Considering that it's part of Wyndham, this property is not kept up well. Starting with the entrance, there were faded fake/plastic flowers and the entry way rug looks worn and dirty. The carpeted areas/hallways and elevators were also dirty and unkept. Going into the room, the carpet was once again stained and worn. It's probably time to change the carpets. We got 2 jey cards, however, 1 wasn't working. My husband went to the frontdesk to get it reprogrammed. The lady gave him 2 more cards and again, 1 didn't work again. He also went to get more towels and 1 more tpilet roll. There are 2 of us but the room only had 2 bath towels, 1 hand towel and no wash cloth. There was also 1/2 a toilet roll left. When my husband went downstairs, they said they had some clean towels but no hand towels. I don't think they had enough staff to support the 4th of July weekend. The trash cans by the elevators were dirty as well. The breakfast was ok and the lady was very kind and friendly. She seems like a dedicated worker.
- Amber (2/5): - The hotel was disgusting!!! Our room had dog hair in the restroom, the floors were broken, the room and hotel itself was hot. The property offered late check out for $50 which would have been 3pm but once I asked the front desk they said it would only be 12p so only an extra hour. I asked for another room but was declined.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - We were given a dirty room. Next room no towels, dirty carpet and roaches.
- Charles (2/5): Cancel my second night - Not good, room looked like someone had napped in bed, no clean towels available, moldy in bath, hairdryer not working, 3 light fixtures not working
- Kevin (8/5): Very good - Location/rate Door was damaged and hard to shut
- Diane (6/5): - This hotel needs a deep cleaning throughout the halls smelled like a veterinarianâs office. Property needs a deep cleaning. Rugs are filthy smells like mildew. The first room we got was completely out of order so they transferred us to a better room. The room was OK but the rest of the property needs to work
- Rebecca (8/5): - Roomm right across from pool...flies in the fridge, missed vacumm spots on the flower...good for one night stay
- Helen (2/5): - As we were waiting to be checked in, a maintenance worker walked right in front of us with a plunger in plain sight. Just not what you want to see when youâre walking in to stay somewhere.
The pool room was right
- Supakorn (4/5): - Cleanliness is the biggest concern.
- Patricia (8/5): Good overall - Pros: Great value, spacious, good temperature, very nice room, breakfast was good, love the mirror, space galore, comfortable bed, great setup in room, clean carpet in rooms, enough toiletries, microwave/fridge were clean, more than enough drawer space, great lighting in parking area in front. The staff were nice, quiet during sleeping hours.
Cons: swimming pool and surround pool area needs some attention and maybe some rust removal, clean water, carpet in hallways was super dirty, maybe consider thick curtains, the light came in a lot making it difficult to determine if its daytime or nighttime, black spots in caulking in shower, one towel only (was given very small pool towel when asked the front desk).
- Noel (8/5): - Nice place and good breakfast, Gym was good and love the water dispensary. Room was big and temperature was excellent.
- Miguel Angel (8/5): - Good reception, nice place, excellent breakfast, convenient pool, ample parking.
- Lizz (1/5): Bad - The hotel was dirty. Couldnât even get extra towels.
- Bullock (2/5): Was not happy with hotel -
- Catrina (4/5): Disappointing - I liked the location and how it was easy access to the freeway. When I checked in the girl at the front desk was not very pleasant as well as the fact that when I checked into my room, there was a smell. That I can't exactly describe, also one of the lights didn't work. It was just flickering on and off constantly. So I had to unplug it, I did let maintenance know, and they did nothing about it. I uh ended up having to call maintenance to fix my shower curtain, which fell, and then I also had to have them come and clean up roaches out of my room. I also was waking up 2 bug bites on my skin that were not there when I went to bed.
- Trevlyn (1/5): Bad - There was not a thing to like about this hotel. The A/C had gone out the morning we checked in. It was extremely hot in the lobby and I asked if that would effect our room and they lied and said it wouldn't but our room was extremely humid and it would not cool. We complained and they would not change our rooms or refund us. Then at night someone kept knocking on our wall and door. The breakfast was not served because it was so hot downstairs.
- Laura (2/5): I wouldnât stay here again. - The first floor of the property was very nice. The 2nd floor where our room was, was disgusting thr carpet was covered in stains. There was no air in the hallways. As soon as you got off the elevator there was a horrible smell. The hotel room was covered in ants.
- John (3/5): Uncomfortable - TV selection very limited. Clerk and maintenance man did not know how to assist. Dirty parking lot, warm water only, musty odor in general, poor property maintenance, loud ac, very poor lighting in restroom and not enough bulb wattage in rest of area. Needs city inspectors to pay a visit. NOT a Wyndham Hotel at all. Independently owned by low standards Not much
- Amanda (8/5): Large, clean rooms and great staff! - Large clean rooms! The shower head was horrible.
- Lorenzo (4/5): - Tile in our room was broken, the restroom seat in our room was broken. The lady at the front desk was on her phone a lot. Breakfast waffle mix ran out. Needed more shower towels in our room and expensive price for that kind of hotel stay
- Viboon (6/5): Pleasant -
- Francisco (7/5): Good - Comfortable room and bed. Breakfast was great. We didn't like that the swimming pool was so cold đŤ not even the hot spa was warm. Would've probably stayed more nights if it wasn't for that.
- E2722ZAjamesr (2/5): Extremely disappointing stay & unacceptable service. Avoid This Location! - As a long-time Wyndham Rewards Platinum member, I chose the Wingate by Wyndham Corpus Christi for a recent stay, expecting the usual standard of service and accommodation. Unfortunately, my experience was profoundly disappointing, leading to a cancelled reservation and immense frustration.
Upon check-in, despite explicitly requesting a higher floor in my reservation notes, I was initially given a second-floor room. When I inquired about a higher floor, I was then assigned a room on the fourth floor. However, upon entering, the room had a strong and unacceptable tobacco odor, clearly a non-smoking violation.
My attempt to resolve this with the front desk was met with dismissive and unhelpful service. I was told there were no other fourth-floor rooms available and was again offered a second-floor room. When I pressed for a solution, the front desk agent stated she would speak with the manager. To my astonishment, the manager, who had been visible, retreated into her office, seemingly to continue a personal phone call, and made no effort to address my issue directly. This resulted in a frustrating back-and-forth that yielded no resolution.
Given the unacceptable room condition and the complete lack of assistance from the hotel staff and management, I had no choice but to cancel my reservation. Even then, getting this processed was a struggle, requiring multiple calls to Wyndham customer support.
This entire experience was a significant deviation from the quality I expect from the Wyndham brand. The unhygienic room, coupled with the rude and unhelpful attitude of the hotel staff and manager, made it impossible for me to stay. I was even told I would be penalized with a one-night charge for a cancellation that was entirely due to the hotel's failings.
I strongly advise others to consider other options in Corpus Christi. As a loyal Platinum member, this experience has severely impacted my view of this specific property and has left me questioning my loyalty to the brand as a whole. Absolutely unacceptable.
- Justin (6/5): Mediocre Hotel - Definitely needs a remodel and the surrounding properties are a bit sketchy. The receptionist was not super friendly and seemed to be bothered my having to check people in and out.
- Tori (10/5): - Love staying here on my getaways
- Ruben (3/5): Poor - I had reservations paid for it before we got there just for them to tell us their was 1 bed when we clearly paid for the price for 2 beds
- Megan (2/5): - We reserved a 2 queen bed room paid in advance and upon arrival they were told all they had was a King with a roll away. There were two adults and three teenagers but they were exhausted and didnât have the time to find another room. Reservations should not be taken if the room selected may not be available. The front desk clerk remained professional and polite even when tempers got a little heated over the issue .
- Juan (6/5): - Hallways were dirty as well as the elevator.
