After travelling over to Scotland for a wedding and not knowing the area well we were blown away with our stay and the kindness of our hosts! Nicola and Gerry went above and beyond to make our stay the best it could possibly be. Gerry even took us himself to and from the venue we had to get to, to save us the costs of taxis as well as offering to charge our electric car over night! The breakfasts were truly amazing too, with Nicola’s amazing freshly baked treats as an additional bonus. The rooms were immaculate, and just beautiful with everything you could possibly need. We had such an incredible stay and will definitely be back soon! Thank you so much :) xx

• sarahcB991CM (10/5): Best nights sleep and really tasty breakfast - The owners were very welcoming and couldn't do more for us. The bed was very comfortable and we both slept really well. There was tea and coffee facilities in the room, every sort of tea, lovely biscuits and some fudge. The breakfast was really tasty, and we were both so full. Really lovely location but not too far from ayr if you need any supplies.
• Aussie2935 (10/5): Exceptional! - The rooms are immaculate, plenty of tea and coffee, and the most delicious Scottish Tablet and fresh milk in the fridge. The bed was so comfortable! Breakfast was superb, full Scottish, toasted brioche, bacon and poached egg muffin, fresh fruit , yoghurt, cereals, homemade muffins, jam and marmalade all quality ingredients. The eggs are from the chickens running around the garden. The hosts could not do enough for us, all in all an exceptional bed and breakfast! Will definitely return.

The couple were so warm and friendly we felt as though we had known them forever. Food was fabulous and very generous portions. Loved talking to them about their rescue chickens that supplied the delicious eggs. Can’t say enough about how lovely our stay was.
• joannas336 (10/5): Quite possibly the perfect place to stay - We were so welcomed & our room was absolutely beautiful- we have been to many B&Bs and I really think this is the best one we have stayed at. Our room (Wrens Nest) has a beautiful lounge with comfy sofas & beautiful views and the bedroom is light, airy with a great, comfortable bed & more amazing views. Bathroom was perfect, exceptional shower. As soon as you walk in the front door everything is taken care of & lovely. Quiet, peaceful & perfect. The breakfast was amazing - full Scottish with all the trimmings for my husband & yummy porridge for me, then there was the homemade jams, thick sliced local bread, berries yoghurt - all enjoyed watching the happy, rescued chickens. Every detail is thought out & every welcome given in this most perfect spot with perfect hosts ♥️
• L2847UZmarcm (10/5): Perfection and More - We had an incredible 3 night stay with Gerry and Nicola; our favourite out of 13 bed and breakfasts we experienced during our time touring Scotland. Breakfasts were absolutely fabulous and well varied each day. We enjoyed lingering over breakfast watching the chickens by the window and Gerry joining us for morning chats. The establishment is spotless clean and our room had everything you could ask for including a large double closet, bar fridge, window seat and comfortable bathrobes. There is ample parking and the location is perfect for taking the train into Glasgow (and much more economical than staying in the big city). What made this bed and breakfast more than a 5 star is the hosts; they truly are a lovely couple who we are sure if we didn't live in Canada would be close friends. We would welcome them in our home if they ever crossed the ocean. Look no further, this is the best and you will have no regrets. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Nicola and Gerry could not have done anything more for us these last two days, just a beautiful home, everything was perfect and I can not recommend highly enough. The quality of the breakfast and the amount of choice offered was fantastic, from home made jams and marmalade, fresh baked cake and the best wee fresh eggs ever. If in the area please do not give them a miss. You will not be disappointed. Thank you Nicola and Gerry for a lovely stay at what was a difficult few days for the family. • deansV6460LH (10/5): Fantastic b and b - Just returned from a fantastic two night stay at Croft head farm. We were attending a wedding at sorn castle. My partner and I were made to feel welcome from the unite we got there. The room was spotlessly clean and spacious, the breakfast was beautifully cooked and a wide choice. Gerry and Nicola went out of their way to make us feel at home. Would definitely return. Highly recommend

The breakfast was delightful and made with fresh local produce and eggs from their chickens. We took home some homemade marmalade which was delicious. We would highly recommend this B&B and we will be back sometime in the future.

The room was fabulous, bed super comfortable and had everything we could have needed. We were made to feel so welcome, including our dog and there were lovely dog treats waiting for her in the room. The breakfast was fabulous (so much food, kept us going for the whole day). Thank you so much! So happy we found this place 😊

Friendly hosts and an amazing breakfast with locally sourced produce and home made jams. We don’t normally stay in a Bed & Breakfast but were very impressed and would certainly return.

Everything was very clean and orderly which we very much appreciated. The view from our bedroom window was spectacular and the resident chickens were fun to watch. Our hosts made us feel quite at home and even called a local restaurant to make dinner reservations for us. If there was a grade above A we would give it to Crofthead!

Our room was spacious and very clean They went above and beyond to provide for me as a vegan and even made me vegan pancakes. Great hosts who are approachable and are very knowledgeble when it comes to places to visit. Breakfast is to die for with locally produced product and eggs laid by their own hens. • thisreallyisgritts (10/5): A stunning B&B - This place is amazing on a number of counts but the two which stand out with it being a B&B are: Bed - the most comfortable bed ever. To say I slept like a baby is an under statement. Comfy, lovely smelling linen and quilts to keep you perfectly warm. Breakfast - simply perfect. Lots of choices and made to your own wishes and this place beats restaurants when it comes to poached eggs! Also... - Cleanliness is outstanding - The views are gorgeous and so peaceful - The hosts are incredible. Friendly, welcoming, helpful and really want you to enjoy your stay Finally....when they say they are dog friendly... they really mean it. Here's proof ...
• Becky (10/5): - Jerry was very helpful with suggestions for tourism and dining. Food was excellent, room was beautiful, shower was great and unlike most accommodations in Scotland, they provided wash cloths!!!!! Definitely recommend this place as a great place to stay! Reasonably priced as well!
• TragicallyHipFan (10/5): Superb Hospitality and a delightful stay - It is of no surprise that every reviewer on TA rates Crofthead with 5 stars. My friends stayed there to attend my son’s wedding at nearby Sorn Castle and had a absolutely wonderful stay. Nicola and Gerry were superb hosts and generously offered to collect them from the wedding which was really helpful. They loved the room and breakfast was also brilliant. They loved it so much they want to go back! Very highly recommended indeed.

• Lynn (10/5): Spectacular - Absolutely fabulous stay at this boutique B&B. The owners are lovely and made us feel so welcome. The accommodation is 5 star and one of the best places we stayed during our Scotland tour. The local Black Bull is a great choice for dinner and wonderful food. Highly recommended.

• IanP (10/5): - Staying at the Crofthead Farm House has restored my faith in UK B&B’s. Staying during Covid-19 restrictions, we were one of only two parties staying at the property to help manage isolation. The room was immaculate, breakfast excellent, and the welcome could not have been warmer. To cap it all the collection of fabulous dogs living. there made my son’s morning. We will definitely be back and I couldn’t recommend a stay here more highly.
