Guest Reviews
- Wayne (10/5): Friendly, helpful and accommodating -
- James (9/5): Superb -
- Ali (10/5): Exceptional -
- Michael (10/5): Exceptional -
- Katharina (8/5): Nice alternative to big chains, cozy - Stylish location Noise from other rooms
- Andjela (10/5): Exceptional - The hosts were helpful about keeping our stuff in the B&B before checkin/after checkout. The location is near the central station which suites us very much as we were using the train couple of times, so the fact that the location is not so close to Gent center didn't bother us, we like to walk. The interior is very rich, aristocratic, 19th century-like. They cleaned the room every day! Room is cosy and the bathroom is big.
- Diane (10/5): Thank you for a lovely stay. Great place for a couple. - The room was impeccably kept. The bed is heavenly. The bathroom is very big and comfortable. All was good.
- Laura (4/5): Not very comfortable if you have luggage. Also not as close to center of town as I had thought. - The room was clean, sheets clean, floor clean. Room smelled like sweat and old dirty pillows. Bathroom was detached and down a flight of stairs. Room itself was 2 flights of stairs with no elevator.
- Dhulani (10/5): would stay again - The hosts were super flexible, the home is beautifully decorated with really comfortable bed and huge bathroom nothing
- Furness (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional -
- L (9/5): Pleasant stay for our first days back in Europe - Handy to the station. Everything beautifully clean. Very comfortable bed - best we’ve slept in and much appreciated after a long haul flight. Gorgeous room. Would have been nice to have received a little information about the location when we arrived. Also a couple of extra coffee pods might have been a good idea as well as a mirror above fireplace.
- Fiona (8/5): Very good -
- Paul (8/5): Comfort Inn - This is a very charming and comfortable B&B that has lots of appeal, especially for those looking to make Ghent a base for exploring West Flanders. Comfortable and quiet and a nice warm bath.
- Tung (3/5): pls pay attention the check in time - I stored my luggage after check out at 8 AM. the owner said they would stay home in the afternoon. no problem .
But when i came back at 4PM (i told the owner i would come back at 4PM), nobody home. it turned out i called and needed neighbor's help to get my luggage. unpleasant experience.
- Mario (9/5): Superb -
- Richard (8/5): Very good - Having a bathtub but not a shower. :( The place was great otherwise!
- Sontien (10/5): Exceptional -
- Stephen (9/5): Excellent place to spend a few days in Ghent, would 100% recommend! - Perfect location just 5 minutes walk from the main Ghent train station. The room was beautiful with plenty of space and an extremely comfortable bed. The owners were lovely and were available whenever we needed anything 🙂 Nothing, our stay was great!
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional - You could tell that the owners put a great deal of effort into the details of the hotel. The rooms were cozy and wonderfully decorated and equipped. Breakfast was delicious—fresh bread, croissants, pain au chocolat, müsli. The location was surprisingly quiet considering that the hotel is near the main train station. Our room’s private bathroom was not attached to our room but it was a lovely decorated bathroom.
- Maria (8/5): Lovely stay, with helpful hosts - Spotless. Lovely comfy bed and beautiful roll top bath. Expensive room for location I felt. Near to station but quite a walk to town.
- Elaine (9/5): Delightful accomodation a short walk from the station - The house is fabulously renovated and the hosts are warm and helpful and found me some delicious gluten free bread.
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Tetiana (9/5): Very nice stay - The room looks exactly as in the photos. We had all the needed facilities, the room was clean. I especially liked the bath.
The proprietor is very nice and friendly, she advised us on places to visit and restaurants.
Thank you !

- Ellie (10/5): Comfortable base to return to while exploring the region - Excellent location close to the station, great hosts, very comfortable room. Breakfast was excellent value.
- Honey (10/5): Exceptional -
- Bradley (8/5): Nice building, tasteful decor and lovely hosts. - Property has a great ambience. Nice decor. Bed was comfortable. Nice location near train station. Near to the train station but some distance from the old city. Too far to walk but you can easily get a tram nearby. A little expensive. !
- Himanshu (9/5): Superb -
- Svetlana (8/5): Very good -
- Monica (8/5): Comfortable B&B in Ghent - Nice size room in a beautiful house. Comfy bed, crisp linen. Good breakfast, fruit, cereal, teas coffee, pastries, cold meat and cheese and eggs if you'd like. All fresh and plentiful. Friendly and helpful hosts. Convenient for the station and not far from centre of town. The house is on a noisy junction so need the windows closed at night unless you're a deep sleeper. Not all the rooms have air conditioning so you might want to check if you like a cool room at night in the summer.
- Mike (9/5): Superb -
- Julia (10/5): Exceptional -
- P J (10/5): Welcoming - Outstanding place to stay.
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joanna (10/5): Enjoyable stay with tasty breakfast - perfect for a city break in Ghent - This lovely B&B is situated near the train station and close to the tram stops that go to the center of Ghent. Every morning we had a nice breakfast in the "old pharmacy" - inexpensive but very tasty with good variety of food suiting everyone's taste.
The rooms were very cosy - we booked two rooms, one en-suite and one with a large external bathroom for our use only. The rooms were comfortable and bathrooms were very tidy.
This is not a hotel but family-run bed and breakfast with the owners always happy to advice on what to see or do in the town, e.g. visiting the flower market on Sunday morning.
- Ari-pekka (8/5): Very good - Very friendly host couple. Nice to start a day in a comfy breakfast room. Rainy weather.
- Fred (10/5): Loved our stay there - Owners are friendly and helpful. Breakfast was large and personalized. Room was large and comfortable. Location was perfect, safe and busy, minutes from the train station. Be aware there are some stairs.
- Jelle (9/5): Superb -
- Indi (8/5): Very good -
- Penny (8/5): Small room but cozy/clean room to stay for short nights - The room is very clean but size is a bit small. In general, the vibe of the airbnb is cozy. It is good for only stay for 1-2 nights. Room size is a bit small but we already knew when we made the reservation.
- Catherine (9/5): Superb -
- Nicky (9/5): Superb -
- Richard (9/5): Superb -
- Serge (9/5): Superb -
- Gatis (8/5): Very good -
- Ralph (9/5): A Classy Place - It might seem inconsequential to some, but I really appreciated that they have sheets and blankets on the bed, rather than a duvet. Much better temperature regulation. And they provide wash mitts, which is a nice touch. Plus the Host is so kind, accommodating, and helpful. A real pleasure to stay here. The shower is stunning! And the breakfast were very elegant and tasty. The back bedrooms overlook the very busy train tracks nearby, which might be disturbing to some. But I enjoy seeing trains, so that was not a problem for us. There is not much English language content on the television, but again, we did not come all the way to Ghent to watch TV!
- Timothy (10/5): Definitely recommended! - Nice place to stay, comfortablr bed and good bathroom. Host was friendly and check-in was easy. Recommended! House is old so could be noisy.
- Stefan (8/5): Very good -
- Rachel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mark (10/5): - Zeer vriendelijke eigenaar.
Mooie luxe accomodatie.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Bright, clean room, very friendly and helpful staff, location ideal for our visit.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - From the very warm welcome from Didier and Katlien and the amazing building we knew were in for an amazing stay at Expo13. The attention to detail in the property - beautifully appointed rooms and bathroom, the very well stocked mini bar, sumptuous breakfasts served in the salon, rivalled any 5* hotel I have stayed in. Expo 13 was centrally located down the road for Gent St Pierre station and was walking distance from the centre of Gent.
- kieran (10/5): Boutique hotel - Beautiful room, Hotel close to main station. Hoteliers very friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Elegant, charming, attention to little details (like the content of the fridge), close to the main train station, accommodating hosts.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Comfortable and convenient. - Good hotel, comfortable room, but the reception on arrival was somewhat unwelcoming. The man behind the desk was not helpful.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I loved the very comfortable bed (best I've slept in away from home), roll top bath, breakfast just as we wanted accompanied by very pleasant music, good location near the station & nice little touch of small bottles of cava in the fridge for a drink at the end of the day. Easy to catch the tram 1 into town (included in a Ghent city pass) or walk 30 minutes by the river. We loved the place & would like to visit again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Ligging is perfect voor de trein en ICC. Mooi gebouw met heerlijk ontbijt. Super aardige gatstheer en vrouw.
- Sabena (10/5): Stunning and comfortable - What a beautiful apartment. We loved the decor and attention to detail, very comfortable and clean. Breakfast was generous, delicious and such a beautiful setting. The area is lovely and quiet (for a city) and it was less than 5 mins walk to the train and tram station. Ditier looked after us from our arrival and gave us great information for getting around. We highly recommend Expo 13.
- Mark (8/5): Boutique B&B near station - Warm welcome in this boutique B&B. High standard of room. Close to main station and good public transport connections to centre (or <30 min walk). If rooms faces the train tracks likely to be some associated noise if that will worry you.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The B&B is in a beautiful period townhouse, tastefully decorated with lots of character features and a mixture of arty, antique, modern and vintage touches. Close to Sint-Pieters station (great for connections to Brussels and Eurostar) and tram into centre of Ghent. Although a half-hour walk into the centre mostly along the canal was a great way to start exploring the town. Beautifully laid out Breakfast room with tasty food - loved the miniature glass domes for our boiled eggs!! Katlien and Didier, the owners, were very friendly, charming and helpful.
- Andrew (8/5): Ghent weekend - A very good guest house. At first the hostess was not very welcoming but the rest of the family were very helpful. A very pleasant room.,
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very beautiful building and very clean. The owners really paid attention to details and were very nice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent b&b, friendly and helpful hosts, very close to railway station and easy access to town.
- Andrew (6/5): Near the station but not centrally located - We booked Expo 13 during our honeymoon visit to family in Ghent but didnt realise how far it is located from the center of things. Luckily a tram stop is around 5 min walk from the b&b. Our room had only a bathtub with a hand held shower head (no shower curtains, etc) so bathing was quite interesting. The b&b has no lift, so a word of warning if you are travelling with more than a carry on bag! Also we had some hiccups with the check in and payment info which was sent from the owners and not hotels.com. It unfortunately ended up in my junk mail and caused some issues at check out as we werent aware the payment was meant to be cash only. Other than this our stay was relatively comfortable and the hosts were very lovely. We also had the breakfast which was pretty reasonably priced at 7.50 euro pp and had a few options. The breakfast room and layout were quite nice. We didnt use the other facilities during our stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Beautiful b&b - The b&b was very close to the train station and an easy tram into the old city. Didier was very flexible with check in. We had a beautiful room with an amazing bath tub. Breakfast was delicious and Didier kindly let us leave our bags while we explored the city for the day.
- John (10/5): A fabulous experience - Our stay in Expo 13 was fabulous. A beautiful property well presented in meticulous detail and located near the main train station. Our hosts Didier and Kaitlen could not have been more hospitable and helpful. A great experience
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely place - Very nice hotel/B&B in Gent with lovely hosts. Will definitely stay again.
