- Leslie (6/5): A nice adventure experiencing something slightly different - Found it interesting living in a typical wooden jungle dwelling with upscale feel. Love the golf cart transportation when you were tired of walking, the beaches were excellent. Thought the value for the price was slightly high. The food in the restaurant was just OK.
- Sian (4/5): - The location is really beautiful It isn't really a hotel. We had a timeshare cabin which hadn't been properly cleaned. It could have done with mosquito nets as we got badly bitten. We had to wait approximately long time to be taken to one part of the resort to another. The staff seemed sweet but a couple were pushing for tips too much. Its too expensive for what it is and not a 5 star hotel by ant stretch of the imagination.

- Sara (10/5): Unspoiled paradise with upscale villas. - Amazingly beautiful location, wildlife (sloths, monkeys, parrots, red frogs every day), chill vibe, gorgeous beach, nice pool, friendly staff, gorgeous villa with a private pool, no car traffic (carts only). The canopy tour was also amazing. Truly one of the best vacations of my life. I love how secluded it is, just wished I knew to bring more cash (all tips and some purchases were cash) and more groceries with us to the island. A quick trip to Bocas Town took care of it. Not a lot of variety of restaurants, but well worth it for the peace and privacy and we enjoyed cooking some meals for ourselves.
- Luca (9/5): Wonderful family stay in a stunning natural setting - Red Frog Beach Island Resort was a wonderful experience for our family. We really enjoyed our stay. The location is fantastic, surrounded by beautiful nature, and the beach is absolutely wonderful. Our jungle bungalow was large, well equipped, and beautifully immersed in nature, which made the experience even more special. We also loved the excursions, which added a lot to our stay. The staff were very friendly and helped create a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout our visit. I’d definitely recommend renting a golf cart, as it makes getting around the resort much easier and more enjoyable. Trips to Bocas for dinner or a visit are also fun and easy to organize from the resort, just keep in mind the additional cost. One area that could be improved is the restaurant at the Rosa Beach Club. The food quality and variety could be better, and the service was sometimes slower than expected.

Villa con camere spaziose e confortevoli, climatizzatore e lavatrice. Personale molto cordiale e disponibile. Non abbiamo potuto noleggiare un caddy perché erano tutti già riservati, ma chiamando alla reception abbiamo sempre potuto ottenere un passaggion dal caddy dell'hotel per spostarci nel resort che è veramente grande. Il mosaico della piscina era rotto, i nostri bambini si sono tagliati i piedi più volte. Bisognerebbe farlo riparare. Padelle in pessimo stato, da sostituire. Ristorante in loco con poca scelta, ma con il caddy ci si può far accompagnare nei ristoranti vicini per variare.

Walk to Polo Beach - villas are very dark, MacMansion-y, we didn't want to hang around there and didn't look forward to sleeping there - the grounds are huge so you always need carts, who never come fast as they say. After dinner at the nearby restaurant we had to wait 30mn - The main beach is not enjoyable. - pool area crammed and noisy. No towels but the staff didn't call for new ones when informed. - Staff low quality at restaurant, pool bar, entrance... Clearly not a 5 star and clearly disappointing.

- Javier (9/5): Three days in paradise. - Not the usual type of resort like for example Sofitel, Four Seasons etc, but a collection of serviced private villas instead. The one we got allocated felt like a palace (just two of us) and the staff were very welcoming. The beach by the Beach Club is stunning. It’s also a short walk from the next resort, which has a fantastic restaurant (there is no restaurant at Red Frog, only some food at the Beach Club) Trying to communicate through Booking.com or email or their own customer portal prior arrival was extremely frustrating due to the lack of response.

El tamaño de las habitaciones y lo bien equipada de la casa con todos utensilios para cocinar y fue muy cómodo tener lavarropas y secaropas en la casa. Hay un mercadito en el complejo muy cómodo que provee todo lo necesario para la estancia. La atención de todos fue espectacular especialmente de Oliver que siempre estuvo dispuesto a hacer de nuestra estancia un experiencia espectacular. Lamentablemente una tormenta reciente había hecho varios estragos en la playa y complejo y x ejemplo el Canopy no estaba disponible, pero enseguida se propusieron compensarnos la situación dándonos 2 carritos de golf sin costo para movernos por el complejo., y siempre su amabilidad suplió cualquier desavenencia del clima. :-)

- Corie (10/5): Paradise with Amazing Amenities - We had an amazing time at Red Frog Beach Island Resort. The staff were top notch-the front desk, the Market, the Club House, and the golf cart transportation drivers all went out of their way to give us the best experience possible! While transporting our luggage to our Villa, Kenny took the time to show our 7 and 9 year old boys the red frogs and how to spot the sloths in the trees. We loved waking up each morning to see the beautiful Carribean and watch the birds. Can't think of anything.

The inside of the villa was a bit old. And it's a bit painful sometimes to wait for a golf cart to go anywhere. But these were minor inconveniences.

We wanted to thank everyone for making our stay so wonderful. We felt so taken care of and appreciated all the kindness to our special needs daughter. Even the panga operators took special care of her and helped us in and out of the boats. Thank you all so much! There was nothing to not like!

There were "processing fees" for every item that we charged to the villa and for every transaction which we were not aware of prior and at the end when it came to settling the bill, added up to quite a large amount. Also, the on-site restaurants need better menus with dietary preferences in mind.

- King (10/5): Great location, would love to come back and spend weeks in this beautiful place - Red Frog is a beautiful place - from the rooms to the beach - and even surrounding jungle. I didn’t want to leave. Our jungle lodge was so incredibly spacious - really more space than we could have ever needed for our little family of 3 - but we enjoyed every inch of it. Beds were comfortable, outdoor showers were perfection, and everything was clean and cozy. The only negative I can find is the grocery store - it is SO expensive and there aren’t any other options - but it’s on an island so what can you do? There aren’t a ton of places to eat so be prepared to eat the same things a lot or take a boat ride into town (about 12 minutes and $8/person). We ate at the neighboring property - El Palmar - a lot because they had more vegetarian options.
- Jennifer (9/5): Superb - We stayed in a house up on the hill. It was plenty of space for our group and had a great view of the property and the water in the distance. In addition to the sloth lounging in the tree behind the house. Amazing! The house needs a little freshening up as well as the pool, but we were happy overall. The property is unique and different from what we have experienced in the past. We had a golf cart for our stay but also enjoyed walking up the big hill to our unit. We tried the restaurant one night=--I thought the food was delicious. No, it is not like an all-inclusive resort restaurant and bar area. It is quiet but nice. The ocean is rough down in that area as well. I suggest getting groceries in Bocas as the small grocery on the property was limited but was still nice to have for essentials. It was easy to get water taxi boats and get around. One of our best meals was on the other side of the island at the Firefly Inn. Worth a trip to see the town and local living on that side of the island-however that was our most expensive water taxi ride. It was $10.00 per person round trip. We had 8 people so quite expensive for a trip over to that area-that wasn't far away. Monkeys are around in the morning running around the neighborhoods. Staff was great--especially Enrique who drives the golf cart and picks you up when you need a ride! Pool needs an update

Beach feels like your own private oasis. Kitchen could have been better stocked, no baking dishes, pan sheets or even kitchen towels provided. Did call and request them, but never came.

The rental on Booking doesnt say golf carts are Not included, so we were dissapointed to learn of the heafty charge per day.(we didnt book, so 11min walk to beach).

- Aniazett (5/5): Good but don't have high expectations - Very pretty private beach, lots of sloths and other animals around, our 3bed villa was spacious and had a lovely view. The receptionist was very kind and the cleaners too. The employees driving around in golf carts were also very kind and would give us a ride when going back with groceries or show us wild animals :) First of all, it was meant to be a 5* resort so our expectations were high. It turned out that some villas belonged to resort while others were private so the service wasnt 100%. We didn't book the golf cart in advance coz we figured that we would do it once arrived but they were all rented out (it seems unacceptable that the villa doesn't have one given how far it is from everything). Our villa was far from the beach/restaurant/reception, we had to call for transport everytime we wanted to go somewhere. One mister accompanying the driver had an attitude and wouldnt even help with putting the stroller inside the car (he would just observe you struggling). Villa itself had just a bare minimum- not even bottles of water (there is a small shop close to reception). In 3 nights stay nobody showed up to clean the villa (only the evening before our checkout but at this point we didn't care). The restaurant has a beautiful view but it's very simple and run down. Service was pretty bad.. example: we ordered coffees, drinks and food. Drinks and food arrived but no coffee, we finished food and asked where is coffees? Waitress says: sorry its coming - after 10min she says oh nobody told you? The machine broke down 🤓of course the coffees weren't removed from the bill.

The last day we were going to leave , we saw Scorpion in the room !! Quite scary !! 2 it is not convenient! You have to take the water taxi to get here ( 8dollar/ person , 15min from Boca). And here you don’t have any choice of restaurants and supermarkets! All the thing are much expensive!

- Barbara (10/5): It’s very relaxing on the island. Be prepared to do very little! - The villa was huge and beautiful! We saw monkeys in the backyard and a sloth down the road. The guys who drive you around on golf carts and super friendly and willing to show you lots of wildlife! The beach is amazing. Food was great! It’s very spread out, which is fine, but the roads are very steep. We walked as much as possible, but in the rain or at night we got rides.
- Rafael (10/5): One of the most paradisic places I´ve been - I would like to give a special thanks to Mario, Sérgio, Stephanie, Shayra, Arturo. I noted their names because they were an excelent team and we felt very confortable. We had a horrible experience at Palmar Beach Lodge, January 24th 2024, around 21h30. It was the 3rd time we went to their restaurant. We were coming from the beach and wanted to dine for the 3rd time. Since we were salty and sandy, we asked where we could take a quick shower. The humble first person directed us, as the 2nd person as well (they witnessed what happened) but then the same recepcionist as the other days prohibited us to shower, outside, because it was a "guest only". But in my concept, I WAS a guest, staying at red frog. It was a horrible prejudice (for reasons unkwnown) experience. I even took her picture and showed it to Mario, manager from the Red Frog. If you care to do something, you can talk to Mario please, he knows her. It was absurd the way she treated us, and all we wanted was to dine at their restaurant. Actually, I can attach so I will attach now her picture and hopefully she can get some training for next guests.

Do not even try anything else, it won't be in the same galaxy with this. Excellent accommodations, beautiful property, wonderful beaches, good restaurants, and we toured the island in a golf cart which was terrific (a hoot!). It was a great vacation experience. The staff other than the bellman (Dixon) were not very friendly! The little store always acted as if I was inconveniencing them by asking if they had bug spray or itch cream. They close early too. The food options on the island are ridiculously limited.  one night because of a rain storm. We missed dinner at the beach club by a few minutes and ate rice, cakes and peanut butter for dinner on our honeymoon. If we weren’t an adventurous couple already, I would say for most people, staying at the red frog would’ve ruined their honeymoon.  the marketing is very deceptive. Everything cost extra! If you don’t rent a golf cart, you will spend your entire trip walking through the heat around a hilly property. The golf cart that they force you to rent for $75 per day is rusty, old slow and a slap in the face.  we are originally booked a jungle bungalow for four nights because we wanted the experience of staying in a bungalow, but with the amenities that were described in the listing, such as full kitchen, air conditioning, patio pool, etc.  what we arrived to find, was a hot bug infested, dirty cabin in the middle of nowhere.  the room we booked was not the room we got as there were two extra laughs as if an entire family were staying there. I didn’t complain because I figured they gave us a bigger one than we asked for however, the little air conditioning units don’t come close to cooling the cabin.  if we wanted to feel cool, we had to get in the shower and then jump out and stand under the AC unit that is mounted in the corner of the little kitchen.  our first night in the jungle bungalow, was spent swatting mosquitoes and itching our bug bites. (For which there is no itch cream at the store to help with.) after being up all night wondering how I ended up in Panama in a hellish jungle cabin ruining our honeymoon. First thing in the morning I used the WhatsApp to ask front desk if there was snorkel equipment available for use/rent. She said no.

We were lucky enough to be upgraded from a lodge to a villa, because of construction work, thank you so much for that. It was very spacious and had an amazing view. Bastimentos is a gorgeous island with beautiful nature and beaches. We saw monkeys, sloths, iguanas, the tiny red frogs and lots of birds (including parrots!). The jungle is incredible, huge trees and various plants. The staff was very friendly and their included transport with golf cart worked very well. It’s a very big resort, so it’s great to have that option. They have a little shop at the reception, which we found very useful. The massage at their spa was also very good. Our freezer was stacked with ice which is a great detail in my opinion. The kitchen was also equipped with dish soap etc, and also laundry detergent for the washing machine. If you want to enjoy Bocas Town nightlife daily it might not be ideal for you, as boat rides at night get expensive. We were there for nature and quietness and usually had dinner at the beautiful villa. For lunch we had nice food at the beach at Palmar and Nachyo Momma or during a trip. The biggest minus is definitely the beach club. A big reason for us staying there was the fact that they have their own beach club with sun beds and umbrellas, however the sun beds were in such bad shape I would be ashamed of it if I was the owner or manager. The sand is more comfortable than those work through beds. It’s so cheap to replace them and get some comfortable new ones. Also the menu lacks vegetarian options, which is why we never ate there. We had iced coffee once, however it was really not good. And for the original price of the villa some things could be improved a little bit. The pots and pans were very old, only one cutting board, no proper curtains in the bed rooms. Also water dispensers would be a good idea. The tanks wouldn’t have to be for free, but it would save on plastic bottles and no need to carry heavy water bottles. But these are no deal breakers.

Great to relax after the beach on the deck listening and watching the birds sing. Beds were a little hard for my taste.
