Guest Reviews

- David (6/5): Cheap but good overnight option travelling through - cheap small rooms but clean and comfortable bed, was great for overnight stay. We arrived on the correct date as booked with Booking but they had us booked in for the following night. Lucky they had a room spare. We double checked booking.com paperwork, we were right but that wouldn't have helped us if they were booked out, major red flag here.
- Michelle (8/5): Comfortable and clean with nice food in the pub restaurant - Lovely room. Very clean. Great location.
- Naresh (10/5): -
- Laurie (4/5): Not here! - Bed Hotel location
No ensuite
Band
- Bree (1/5): -
- Ferdinando (2/5): Very average - The hallway, the smell of smokers in hallways, the kitchens. Were not so clean and dead cockroach in kitchen drawer .
- Aneta (6/5): -
- Cassie (6/5): Value - Location and price easy to book in and leave free parking out back. The food was amazing !!! And value for money Shared bathrooms and toilets could be cleaner
- Desmond (10/5): -
- Jennifer (3/5): You may have to use the fire escape to leave! - Staff were lovely downstairs and helpful. The hotel felt dirty, sticky railings and dirty carpet. The kettle in the room was covered in a sticky film with dust and food particles.
We went to check out at 8am and were told that we had to use the fire escape as the pub didn't open till 10am. This is an absolutely unreasonable request in my opinion despite a sign being posted on the inside of the room door. How on earth is it safe to carry luggage and other items down a fire escape which is narrow and steep? Not to mention it had been raining. A fire escape is a point of egress only and not designed for people carrying items up and down.
- Miloš (5/5): - Obrovský hluk ,medzi izbami ,chodbou a naviac z ulice kde medzi kamionmi a posteľou neexistuje cez prastaré okna žiadna akustická prekážka.
Spoločné wc a kúpelňa počas nášho pobytu nie čisté.

- Georgina (6/5): Disappointed in lack of cleanliness. Easily fixed with care and attention. - We liked being able to have a counter-meal, a cold drink and go to bed, without any extra driving - an overnight stay only on our way to Yeppoon. Crisp fresh sheets and comfortable bed. Good aircon. I know it calls itself budget accommodation, but; * there’s no hooks or rails in the room (room 3) to hang your wet towels - such a simple thing to provide
* bench area in our room was not wiped down and was sticky
* nowhere to put your soap or shampoo in the shower - a $5 hanger is all thats needed!
* shower base and basin a bit grubby
* melted soap stuck to the shower floor which was dangerous
* overflowing bin at the basin and full when we checked-in at 430pm and still full the next morning at 730am
It’s basic cleaning stuff and needs to be done twice a day in the toilets and shower room!! Using shared facilities in a pub is nothing new to us, but the cleaning is below an average standard.
- ARIAS (10/5): -
- Philippe (10/5): - L'accueil et le personnel Le wifi n'est pas super dans ⁸les chambres
- Fiona (7/5): - Location
Value for money Luke warm shower
- Colleen (8/5): -
- Babara (2/5): Terrible - Room so small it could only fit a bed and tv on the wall no fridge no tea making facilities only thing supplied were towels not worth the price nowhere to sit except the bed room was so small it wouldn’t fit chairs or stools
- Wei (10/5): -
- Tracey (10/5): -
- Veronica (8/5): Good - Very clean facilities, good quality price ratio.
- David (8/5): Great Spot - Handy to Highway + meals
- Spowart (8/5): Happy enough - A nice old fashioned historical hotel Access difficult and stairs to many
- Richard (5/5): - As a pub hotel room, it's typical. Small windowless type room. The price per night was a little bit high considering the room. Served its purpose.
- Per (8/5): -
- Steven (1/5): -
- Bob and Christine (1/5): - I told staff that my husband was in a wheelchair and did they have a ground floor unit. They answered yes. When we arrived we were told we had to go up two flights of stairs. No comment about where we could go. We had to search and finally found a place 2 hours later.
- ANA BELÉN (5/5): -
- Fiona (6/5): - Friendly helpful staff good value for money and well located.
- GayleF (7/5): -
- Kech (8/5): Excellent place to stay, friendly staff, great beer and decent food - Great location
Very convenient if driving along highway 1
Staff where super friendly, really good food and refreshments available There is a little road noise from highway but that should be expected
- Saburo (7/5): Good -
- Karley (9/5): Superb -
- Solomon (7/5): Good -
- Deborah (8/5): - Had a great stay, staff were lovely.
- Windsor (8/5): Very good -
- Rhonda (7/5): Comfortable and relatively clean. - Make your own very basic breakfast as is budget accommodation. We’re 70+ and too many stairs to walk up especially with baggage. Cereal or porridge for breakfast would have been nice.
- John (8/5): Good pub accommodation - Comfortable Only downside was shared bathroom on the floor
- Carmen (1/5): Constant pros coming during the night and noise - I think it’s a brothel Shared bathrooms
- james (8/5): - excellent stay , everything you need, the manager was very nice,
You hadn’t paid $111.38 up front, the REAL fee was $95 , i’m a disable veteran every $count
- Dix (10/5): - I love the old country hotels, staff was extremely helpful. The room was small with shared bathroom but all we needed was a good bed and a good meal after a day traveling.
- Carla (7/5): Good -
- Tracy (8/5): Very good -
- Chris (6/5): An overpriced bed for the night. - Available. Met the basics of the description. Poor value for money. Takes advantage of lack of alternatives.
- Terry (8/5): I was only there one night. I arrived quite late and was warmly greeted. - The location suited my wish to get away from the urban bustle
I believe the Gundy offers good value for anyone looking for simple accommodation
- Graeme (9/5): Great! -
- Peter (4/5): Basic 1950s pub but pleasant enough for a solo traveller for a one night stand after a long drive. - Easy to find, seemingly good location. Good location turned bad with trucks roaring past all night, earplugs mandatory! Check out from 2nd story via fire stairs (as instructed) as top floor closed off around 9.00pm till 9.00 am
- Wieting (8/5): Excellent Stay - My room was small but cozy. The bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept on. The shared bathroom was clean with a beautiful shower. Shared kitchen was small but adequate. The room was surprisingly quiet considering location of the pub. I ate at the pub Saturday night and it more than passed muster.

- Mikeve (9/5): Overnight stopover stay - Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The shared bathroom and shared kitchen were clean. Plenty of spare clean towels for the guests. In the bathroom, there were towel baskets for used ones which is nice and thoughtful gesture. The staff are friendly. Fast wifi. Walking distance to shops and cafe downstairs is a bonus, their food was yummy. There is also a pub/game machine downstairs. Feels like all in one accommodation. We will definitely stay again if pass through Gin Gin. Nothing, we were happy with our stay.
We were just got a bit confused with the check out time as online on our booking detail it says the check out time was between 10am and 11am but it is 10am as per the staff.
- Barbara (10/5): - Very clean and beds comfortable.
only problem was the bathroom light was not working in one of the shower rooms. Otherwise, lovely and clean.
- Sharon (8/5): - Great beer garden. Very relaxing after a day of driving. Would recommend this place to anyone

The meals were amazing, The staff were beyond helpful and friendly 😀 be sure to drop in and say hello to Michelle behind the bar she is the most lovely human who adds a real touch of peace, calm and home to your soul during the stay ❤️
The events they held for the children were beyond our expectations. The room is very comfortable, cool and spacious. The bathrooms are tidy and the communal kitchen is just perfect 👌 it is right near IGA and has a full size fridge to stock with ice cold air-conditioning in the room. This weekend was perfect thank you to everyone at the Gin Gin hotel for all the time and energy you put into such an amazing little space!!!
Be sure to say hello to Chris the bird Man also and maybe pick yourself up a new little friend 🧡
I know we love our new little feathered friend that we were blessed enough to come home with 💛
There are kangaroos that play and eat out in the paddock and local close swimming holes.
I love my bush weekends, this was perfect 👌
Many thanks and much love to Michelle and all the staff at the Gin Gin Hotel for making our weekend the most amazing weekend, we love you guys!!!! I loved it all ❤️
- Vicki (10/5): Recommend - The room was comfortable, clean & the staff were exceptional, friendly & helpful, made you feel very welcome. Recommend staying at the Gin Gin Hotel.
Thank you Michelle & John.
- Christine (10/5): Looking forward to returning - Oldy worldly pub, good service, friendly staff An outside staircase to walk suitcases down
- Tarni (7/5): Good -
- Heather (9/5): Superb -
- Di (10/5): Excellent value for money -
- Sarah (10/5): Great price, clean and comfortable family rooms! - This pub hotel is a great stop over for the family for the Mackay to Brisbane drive.
Price was good, family room was huge, clean and felt like sleeping in a great big Queenslander. Female toilets and showers are refurbished and looking fresh. Pub directly downstairs provided a good meal with Pizza and huge pub meals available. The beer on tap was cold and the outdoor playground was loved by my kids. Stayed here twice now on our adventure to brisbane and back. Also a great coffee shop just down the road in gin gin with toasties & ok coffee for the morning.
- John (7/5): Good -
- Lance (2/5): Very poor - Food was OK. Having to share a bathroom with all other guests. Constant traffic, mainly trucks all night as well. Noisy and useless air con. Bright lights illuminating the hotel name as well as street lights right into my window. Single bed. Hot rooms. Hardly any sleep because of the above. I've worked in hotels and hospitality and that was not worth the money. I had to travel 750km today but I couldn't because I was dangerously tired and I had to pay for another motel room to get some sleep.
- Daniel (9/5): A convenient budget location in Gin Gin with food and a bar. - The staff were very friendly. The room was tidy and comfortable for a budget stay. The onsite bistro has good choices and I recommend the pizzas. There are plenty of stairs. It has shared bathrooms but that was expected and they were clean.
- Elisabeth (10/5): I’d come back anytime - The finishing touches
- Susana (10/5): The staff were helpful n waited for us as we were travelling from Brisbane. Rooms clean n everything accessible. Would d - Convenient and easy to access
- Louise (7/5): Good -
- Glenn (7/5): Good -
- Sharon (8/5): Our stay was fantastic.. Country hospitality at its best! - The room was small but very clean as was the entire hotel. The staff were friendly and extremely helpful. The locals were great. The vibe of the place was exceptional. We stayed on Thursday night and they had a local raffle ( spin the pig) very funny! We won a meat tray with the free tickets given upon drink purchase. The hotel even provided pizza and garlic bread for the customers in the bar.. We had a great stay! Will definitely return .. The shared bathrooms
