Alaska Yuno (6/5): - La Regadera estaba terrible, estaba obstruida y las pocas lineas de agua que tenia, lanzaban el agua super fuerte, el lavabo estaba roto y estaba obstruido igual y en general, desde la última vez que visitamos el hotel bajó la calidad en cuanto al mantenimiento.

No safe, the lock was with a key but no dead bolt. The area was also questionable. It was difficult to locate the actual area. We left imidiately and found another hotel. Do not stay.

Ashley Brooke (2/5): - We checked in and the room had stains on the furniture and the “clean” bedding. We were honestly afraid we’d get bed bugs. There was a couch that didn’t seem even suitable to sit on for a short amount of time. They advertise a rooftop pool which doesn’t exist. We had to leave and find a new place to stay within 15 minutes of arriving. What a waste of money and our efforts. As regards to safety, the doorknob seemed like anyone could come in on us at any point. To top it off, nobody at Silversands could speak much English so there was no point complaining so we just left and had to pay to stay elsewhere for our stay.

Nadia (10/5): - Great Location and Friendly Staff, but Some Minor Letdowns I recently stayed at Silversands Hotel Boutique in Playa del Carmen, and overall, I had a great experience. The hotel is perfectly located on 5th Avenue, right in the heart of the action, surrounded by shops, restaurants, and the lively atmosphere that makes Playa del Carmen so special. The room itself was spacious and comfortable, which I really appreciated. The staff were incredibly friendly and responsive, always ready to help with anything I needed. However, there were a couple of small disappointments. The shower wasn’t great, which was a bit frustrating, and I was surprised that the room didn’t come with an electric kettle, which would have been a nice touch for making tea or coffee. Despite these minor inconveniences, the location and service made up for it. If you’re looking for a central stay in Playa del Carmen with a buzzing atmosphere, this is a good option!

Pesimo hotel, no es digno de estar en xpedia. Las chicas q atienden hicieron su mejor exfuerzo por hacer nuestra estancia placentera pero la verdad todo estuvo mal desde nuestra llegada. No habia agua caliente, afortunadamente la arreglaron. Se fue el agua, la luz paso de todo lo peor.

And door lock at the street level gate stuck a lot and was difficult to operate. But one handyman helped me and got the gate open this morning and sprayed down the lock with WD40. Very nice man.

Candace (8/5): - We quite enjoyed our stay at SilverSands, the location on 5th ave was great though it was a bit loud during the weekends at night. The room itself was a little dirty but for the price we paid we weren’t expecting a 5 star hotel. We felt safe in this hotel as it has an exterior door at the bottom of the entry stairs. Overall if you’re looking for a budget hotel we do reccomend! We suggest walking down to 30th ave for the best street food and MUCH cheaper prices than an 5th ave :) there’s lots of little taco stands and other food places on 30th and all the streets between 5th and 30th. There is also a Sunday market on I think 54th street!!

Mar (2/5): - I complained about the lights not working properly and they said they would fix them and they did not. The towels were old and had holes. The sheets were very stained and old. The pool had no water in it. I did not have hot water in the kitchen so I could not do my dishes and could not use my cookware( I bought groceries and couldn’t eat them with the conditions) the property was not as described at all. I asked for a refund and to change rooms or anything to make it more comfortable but they said no. The communication was horrible, had to use a translation app to ask questions and they were never replied to in an understandable way. The fridge water machine was also broken. The door locked with a single push lock and felt very unsafe. People would look in my window at night as I could not move the shade down. I did not have my room cleaned the first four days as they never supplied me with a ‘cleaning sign’ so my room was disgusting with the dirty dishes and sand everywhere. Nobody told me I had to run the water in the shower for 10 minutes before it got hot so I had cold showers as well. They did not supply shampoo until the room was finally cleaned. The wifi worked well, but that was about it.

Il y avait de la sauce sur le meuble de télévision, des toiles d'araignées au plafond, la porte de la douche ne fermait pas, la fenêtre de la douche est moisit et la poubelle de la salle de bain est rouillée. Il y avait une odeur insupportable dans la chambre et des travaux dans l'entrée alors que nous sommes arrivés un samedi soir. L'odeur de vernis empestait tout l'étage. Nous avons demander pour être changé de chambre, mais la deuxième n'était pas mieux. L'hôtel n'a pas de réception. Il faut monter des escalier étroit où passe à peine la valise, pour arrivé au premier étage puis il faut chercher quelqu'un pour avoir la moindre information. L'hôtel n'est pas visible depuis la route mise à part une petite enseigne. L'adresse donné n'est pas celle de l'hôtel mais celle du carrefour voisin. Le seul point positif est que le logement est situé dans la rue principale mais à l'opposer du centre d'intérêt. Ce qui pourrait permettre de dormir en silence si le frigo ne faisait pas autant de bruit.

No receptionist, just some whatsapp # and had to wait 45 minutes to than be led to a room with dirty sex stained sheets, an ac that leaks over the bed, dirty grimy sliding glass windows with a large crack in in. Fish smelling fridge, fingerprints on coffee pot, was told there was no cleaning crew and the owner to the hotel could care less. The man who let us into the room was just hired 2 days prior. THIS HOTEL SHOULD NOT BE LISTED IN ANY WEBSITE. yes the area was convenient but then again, crack houses are cleaner. You choose.

El único problema que tuve es que mandaron mis toallas personales a la lavandería sin preguntar antes y no me las pudieron devolver a tiempo, pero me las repusieron por otras. Sugiero que pregunten antes al cliente si desea que sus artículos personales vayan a lavandería. De todo lo demás excelente estancia, me encantó.

Andrea Fernanda (8/5): - La ubicación es bastante buena esta sobre la quinta y todo queda caminando, solamente hay que tener cuidado con la hora de llegada ya que mi vuelo se retraso y termine llegando a las 12.30 en la madrugada y me contactaron del hotel como a las 11 para decirme que la recepción cerraba a las 12 y que después de esa hora no había quien me diera las llaves, después de pedirles que me esperaran si accedieron y me esperaron a que llegara a las 12.30 pero me tuve que poner medio loca al hablar con ellos para que si me esperaran, también hay que tener en cuenta que el refrigerador esta adentro del cuarto y hace bastante ruido pero fuera de eso todo esta bien y si lo recomiendo.
676pipera (2/5): DO NOT GO HERE - DO NOT GO TO THE SPA IN THIS HOTEL!!! Unfortunately my sister got scammed here. First they made her come back twice and kept changing their availability. Then, they made her pay before they even began the service (supposed to be a pedicure with gel polish). The setup was ridiculous, she was sitting on a massage chair in a small curtained corner. The lady doing her nails was reusing old tools and had her hair draping all over the tools and her feet - crazy unsanitary! After having the cuticles pushed and trimmed on 2 toes my sister decided everything was too unprofessional and ridiculous and wanted to leave. She had already paid in full (400 pesos), but wanted a portion of her money back as only a tiny fraction of the service was provided. She was willing to leave 200 pesos and wanted the other half back. The manager/supervisor lady refused and argued extensively that the service was perfectly safe and fine (it was NOT). Overall, a horrible experience. This place is NOT legit and not worth it at ALL. Please don’t get scammed here!
Susan (4/5): - Property is in a prefect location. The wifi was non-existant. I had to sit at the bar across the street to work. The windows were covered with dark drapes that don't move. Adequate kitchen. If you don't need wifi or use the room much, it's in a good location.
Eli (6/5): - For the price i paid i cant complain too much. Especially i stayed for one night. But the room itself looked nice had a big fridge, small tv, but was a little run downed. Not sound proof. Hot water was not very hot. The towels are of pour quality. The bed came with no covers only bed sheet. The staff was not very helpful did not speak one word in english. But if you are on a budget and dont mind about very clean room then could be worth it. For one night i could do it, but for a week dont think i would have enjoyed.
Verified traveler (2/5): Tragic - Absolute dump. Nothing works properly, not one single thing, shower was disgusting, kitchen tap was leaking, light bulbs were randomly either white, yellow or blown out. Door did not shut properly, sliding door n the shower did not slide, towel hanger was broken so one could not actually hang the towel, sink faucets were inverted (they close the way all normal faucets open), bed sheets were worn out, rooftop "pool" was abandoned, etc. An endless list of misery, just avoid this place, any review saying this is a decent stay was written by either a homeless person or an employee, otherwise it is beyond me how can anyone rate this a bearable stay. The neglect on this place is just depressing. Also, employees are the lowest quality people you can possibly imagine, noisy and annoying. Needles to say they do not speak any english.

Elzbieta (4/5): - The property is not in the best condition. There is a problem with plumbing. The toilet is very noisy and does not flush properly each time or sometimes not at all. When I woke up at 7am there was no running water (not a drop). It was turned back on at 11am. So be prepared not to be able to shower in the morning. The bed sheets and blankets are worn out. The administration does not speak any English. Luckily I reserved the hotel only for 1 night. The location is very good. The hotel might be fine for young people on tight budget who party at night and wake up late, so they would not be affected by lack of running water in the morning.

La recepción es mala, el encargado apenas y cruzo palabra para entregarme las llaves de la habitación, la habitación en espacio es buena pero la limpieza pésima. Sábanas y fundas de almohada con manchas de óxido, el baño con una exageración de humedad, hasta la planta artificial que hay ahi está llena de moho. El baño lleno de moho en sus paredes, la puerta de la regadera no cierra y el aditamento para colgar la toalla caído. Al salir el primer día pusimos el letrero pidiendo la limpieza, regresamos en la noche y nisiquiera se tomaron la molestia de cambiarnos las toallas, al día siguiente el encargado llegó hasta las 11am así que tuvimos que secarnos con las toallas mojadas para poder dejar la habitación en tiempo y que no bos penalizaran con 200 pesos. No regresaría nunca!!

Violetta (4/5): Great location but condition very disappointing - Positive points: good location, affordable, nice man at the front desk, good fridge Now for the negatives (please take it as constructive criticism and an opportunity to improve for the future): 3 out of 4 cups were cracked, frying pan was black and had Teflon coming off. Neither could be exchanged. No cooking space in the kitchen. We had to put the toaster on the floor. Dust collected on the walls and ceiling. Bathroom has mould. Towels need changing (they are no longer white). Shower door is broken. No toiletries provided accept for hand soap. Our room had NO WINDOWS but I know other rooms did.
Verified traveler (6/5): - As of 2/26/2020 there’s construction right next door that starts at 8am till about 6pm everyday. I don’t think it will be finished anytime soon. It’s loud and it’s impossible to rest or stay in the room once construction starts. This hotel is located at the end of all the shops and street stalls on 5th ave. Ive only been PDC once before and spend about 1hr in the beginning part of 5th ave. For some reason I thought these shops and stalls would extend the entire 5th ave but that’s not the case. There’s only houses and few restaurants after that. My other complaints about the property is the same as some previous reviews. Rooms is located in the 2nd and 3rd floor with no elevator. It was ok for me to bring my 40+ lb luggages to the 3rd floor but I can see that being an issue for some people. Water/plumbing is a major issue here. You have very little hot water and low water pressure, it also only last for maybe about 5 minutes. The toilets takes about 5min to fill the tank. You must also plug the shower once you finished if not the entire bathroom/room will smell like crap and it’s bad for your health as well. Whoever did the plumbing didn’t know what they were doing. You must use keys to leave and get back in the property and room. It was ok for a day or two but gets super annoying after. The pool? Is a 6 person tub. The only thing I liked about the property is the rooftop that’s lit till 11pm and the friendly hotel staff. Everything else is ok. I did switches to another hotel

Kin (6/5): - Room was clean, cute folded towels daily, coffee pot and coffee in the room, cute roon Cons: 3 story walk up, staff turned off ac twice so we came back to a stuffy room, pan provided smoked the room before cood was even half cooked, low water pressure in the shower
AllyMae25 (10/5): A modest serviced apartment - My partner and I loved the proximity of this hotel to Quinta Avenida with its many cafes, restaurants and bars and to the beach. We liked the 5 minute leisurely stroll to the beach and we also liked how parking was easy on the street adjacent to the hotel. We used the apartment as a base for many day trips to Tulum, the Cenotes and Chichen Itza and found it quiet and clean every time we got back. I would recommend this for anyone travelling as a couple who tends to go out for the day and enjoys being out and about. We enjoyed the simplicity of the hotel, the service was personalised and they were much more attentive to our needs than a 5 star hotel.

Verified traveler (6/5): - First off the pictures listed on Expedia are a scam, the property does not have a pool, nor is it near the beach or ocean front. The beach is about 20 minutes away, walking distance. The lobby is non existent, it’s a desk by the stairs. An early check in cost me almost the price of a night not to mention the lizards that were all over the room! The staff was very friendly which is the only reason why I won’t give it a one star.
Esther (10/5): Cute, cozy and affordable - The hotel is small and cozy, close to the beach, restaurants and night life. The room has everything you might need at an afordable price.
