Guest Reviews
- Brian (10/5): Parn very helpful and polite - Location No elevator
- Paul (10/5): Good quality for the price - Great location, really nicely decorated and clean Nothing
- Jason (8/5): Another great stay - Lovely host, very friendly and accomodating.
- Minto (10/5): -
- Iain (10/5): Great value, staff and venue - Great decor and very well kept. Extremely clean A handwash was lacking in the bathroom but I think that was an oversight as everything else was top notch, the tea tray, the shampoo etc
I’m sure if I remembered and mentioned to Donna she would have had one placed in the room straight away
- Ian (10/5): - Unique venue, on the high street, personable and fun host.
- Jazzmol (10/5): Great Guest House - Absolutely loved everything about our stay here. From arriving until departure the host, Donna was helpful and pleasant, advising us where we could eat in the evening after a long and tiring day. We had a beautiful spacious room that had everything we needed for our stay. A realky comfortable bed with beatiful quality bedding. Breakfast was plentiful and beautifully cooked and served in an amazing and beautiful dining room. A relaxed atmosphere with good conversation. Will definitely be back. Nothing.
- Raymond (10/5): no harm ok - whatever no harm ok
- Lance (9/5): An unusual location with a considerable amount of quirky charm. - Excellent breakfast, of personal choice and cooked as required. Hostess, Donna, could not have been more charming, friendly and helpful. Ideal location for visiting central Hawick. Unfortunately, wifi was out of order.
- Katharina (10/5): A touch of luxury - Bank Guesthouse is a hidden gem on the Hawick High Street. Situated in the centre of town you have access to all amenities, in our case the beautiful outdoors of the Borders. Donna is a very welcoming host, and we felt very well looked after. She has attention to detail to lift the experience to the next level. Entering the room and breakfast room you can't help a "wow" escape you, marvelling at her decorative skills. She also provided a tasty breakfast and we would happily stay again. The shower is on the small side, not an issue for us but could be a bit tight for someone larger.
- Richard (10/5): Great place to stay - Great location. Beautifully fitted out comfortable rooms. Donna is a terrific host.
- Kimbo & Daz (9/5): Hawick, a friendly town with helpful people. - The generous size of the room, comfy furniture and bed. Shower was very good and hot. Donna is a bright engaging font of local knowledge & happy to help. Her breakfasts are awesome, tasty & filling. The old building maintaining its history. Nothing.
- Nicola (10/5): -
- Allan (10/5): We had a great time. - The decor was lovely, breakfast tasty the host was very friendly and helpful.
- Scott (5/5): -
- Sheridan (9/5): Fantastic - Lovely host
Great breakfast
Very clean
Fab location Only small downside was the bed was a bit small
- Lesley (6/5): Nice stay, just sort out drinks tray - The room was perfect, the host very helpful,my one complaint would be the drinks facilities, instead of a kettle there was a hot water dispenser, which never gets water hot enough, and the selection of drinks, and the amount was,in my opinion disgusting. As above
- Helen (8/5): Spacious and well decorated B&B see - Spacious and clean room with two comfortable arm chairs. Coffee bags were provided which are a nice addition rather than instant coffee.
We appreciated the knives and forks provided if you want to get a takeaway.
Great breakfast in nicely decorated room
Friendly host. Shower wasn't very hot
- Ari (1/5): -
- CAD 66 (9/5): - Great size room, comfortable bed and decent seats for chilling. Breakfast was excellent.
- john (10/5): -
- Susan (9/5): -
- Jessica (5/5): Felt a bit like an over-priced 3 star hotel. - The location was fab and the spa was lovely. When we initially walked in, the lobby had an unusual smell - it smelled a bit like a toilet, sadly. Once we got to our room it was OK, however there were a number of stains on our carpet - it didn't feel very clean. The shower was a little tempermental and the hairdryer in the room packed-in while I was half way through using. Someone did come up with a replacement, but took them half an hour, by which point we had to leave for dinner. The bed wasn't very comfortable and the breakfast staff were quite slow. I was expecting more given the price we paid. The spa was nice, although we won't be coming back.
- Graeme (10/5): -
- Damion (10/5): Absolutely beautiful place n such a lovely host - Absolutely everything best nite slp and it’s such beautiful place and such lovely host Nothing
- John (8/5): -
- Tony (8/5): Great room great host great breakfast shame about the stairs and street noise. - Room was great however you need to navigate the stair case (3+ flights) to get to it. We stayed on a Saturday night and due to the street facing location the room was quite noisy until the early hours of the morning. Stairs, street noise
- neil (9/5): -
- Stuart (8/5): - The host Nil
- Deirdre (6/5): - Breakfast was unavailable as the host was going on holiday so discounted breakfast from room.
- Janette (8/5): - The room was very nice. Good shower. Comfy chairs and nice layout. Very comfortable mattress. Felt very private.Varied breakfast available in a beautifu dining room overlooking the street. Very comfortable and felt well suited to the town and its surroundings. The Duvet was a bit heavy weight and the pillows both the same and a bit overfilled so difficult to vary height for sleeping. Very narrow winding stairs to top room and light sensor went off quite quickly.
- David (10/5): Stunning warm homely hotel - The minute you walk through the front door of this hotel you think am I in the right place, up the staircase to the rooms is like a family home with lovely decorated walls and wallpaper and quirky bits of furniture, our room faced out to Main Street , with a 4 poster bed with the most comfiest mattress and Egyptian cotton duvet , again decorated to a very unusual standard for a hotel more like my own bedroom lots of beautiful bits of furniture to finish off the dressing of the room , especially the very comfortable sofa , the bathroom again was not like a hotel bathroom, , working shutters on the windows for extra darkness , we went to wedding got drunk came home slept amazing woke up still a bit drunk, went downstairs for breakfast to be met by our host , the amazing host by the way , single handed runs the hotel cleans cooks , well when you meet her Donna will make you feel like you’ve known her for ages, , you walk in to dining room , WOW decorated unlike any hotel furnished like no hotel , Donna has done up this (boutique) hotel beautifully and you can tell she takes much pride in the way it looks all to her own personal fine little touches, , I had a peak through doorway to her kitchen , again it’s like a big family home , Donna the host owner treats you like family, cooks a wonderful breakfast, with the table decorated like we were having a family party , it’s just amazing If I write anything on this section I’ve got to admit, it would be untrue , probably only thing I disliked was leaving to come home
- Colin (10/5): A fantastic stay, and Donna is a great host. 😃 - Great location in Hawick town centre.
- Phil (10/5): Brilliant host and stay - Full of character Was all fine
- Lars (10/5): - Amazing stay, faboluos place and very friendly landlady! Highly recommende!!

- Maggi (9/5): -
- Hilary (9/5): -
- William (8/5): a warm welcome and room was nicely presented and staff pleasant and accomodating - breakfast was very good and presented nicely a lift would be nice
- Jane (9/5): Delightful, elegant, roomy and comfortable - Superb quality, extremely well dressed accommodation.
Lovely staff willing to help in every way.
Excellent central location. Would have been 10 out of 10 but I did not realise there were two flights of stairs to climb.
- SHELAGH (9/5): Very relaxing and lovely stay - Lovely place, excellent staff Fire alarm!
- Penelope (9/5): - The room was actually upgraded due to a last minute change to booking by owner Donna who had an issue at check- in for some reason I think but not sure exactly why. She was very nice. Had beautiful room . All very good. paid her at hotel.

- john (8/5): Very enjoyable! - Host was very friendly and accommodating. Room (and bed) was comfortable and breakfast was really good too.
Really interesting old bulding too. Nothing really. Bathroom was small and sink tiny, but I could live with it.
- pauline (10/5): Donna was an excellent hostess, very warm and friendly. Great nights sleep in a luxurious bed. Breakfast was amazing and - Spotless clean, building was amazing and the interior even better. Quirky breakfast room It was a wee bit cold in the bedroom
- Morag (10/5): -
- Catley (5/5): It didn't deliver the charm, warmth & expectations as led by the profile - The breakfast was acceptable & the staff were friendly, amiable & courteous One had to gain entrance by a large straight onto the pavement door which at the time was very much hindered by works directly outside the building.
- anne (8/5): I en joyed my stay very much friendly staff comfortable bed and room good location breakf - the breakfast was very good the first morning but unfortunately the second morning it was so bad I couldnt eat it The scrambled egg was in edible I asked for white bread toast and got brown so didnt eat any of it. I asked for a yoghurt.
- Catherine (10/5): A lovely place to stay the night. - Donna was a marvellous host. Her homemade breakfast was delicious, and she made every e feel welcome. the room was spacious and well appointed. It was difficult to find at first, and the internet was very unreliable.
- christopher (10/5): -
- Carol (10/5): Very comfortable Guest House - I had a very comfortable stay and absolutely loved the Guest House. The bed was very comfortable and the breakfast was great. Donna who runs it was so friendly and accommodating
- Paul (7/5): Served the purpose perfect for a overnight - Breakfast was nice staff very friendly, attentive Older room obviously had been a smoking room before. But room was very nice just as a non smoker not ideal
However served my purpose for my visit
- Hugh (10/5): -
- Claire (10/5): Highly recommend a stay in this amazing and beautiful building. - Amazing building, superbly appointed and our room was huge, homely, relaxing, comfortable, everything you could need. Many original features that Donna has restored to their former glory and functionality. Location to the amenities and the local countryside really good. Breakfast was very good and cooked to order with fresh ingredients. That we were only staying one night, wished it was longer.
It can be noisy on a weekend, but that’s to be expected with its location on the High Street. Ear plugs were thoughtfully provided!
- Debbie (9/5): Lovely property and warm welcome from our host. - Warm welcome from our host Donna. The room and en-suite were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was cooked to order. All in all our one night stay was comfortable. Parking was on the road, we were lucky to find a spot directly opposite the property. The neighbouring bar did hold a karaoke night which carried on until 1am which after a long day we could have done without.
- Michael (9/5): Perfect for a one or two night stay the staff were wonderful and very helpful and the breakfast was amazing. - Beautifully decorated and in an excellent location on the High Street, a very short walk to all amenities and good restaurants The bathroom was a little small
- Adrian (10/5): Lovely bed and breakfast located in central Hawick. - Lovely bed and breakfast located in the centre of Hawick. Nothing
- Jennifer (10/5): -
- Marion (10/5): Lovely unique bed and breakfast - Donna has a beautiful b and b, she is a wonderful host, very friendly and attentive without being intrusive.
Exceptionally clean and the decor is wonderful.
The room was impressive with a lovely comfortable 4-poster bed, a lovely settee and a spacious bathroom.
Breakfast in the morning was delicious and plentiful
Private car park at the back of the property.
Highly recommend and we would stay again if we are in this area. There is,nothing to dislike
- Toni (6/5): - The room was lovely and well decorated. There were extras like toiletries and tea and coffee etc. The breakfast was nice and the host friendly. The room was stuated on the main high street. We had 3 hours of drunk youths singing and shouting as they left the pubs. It disturbed our sleep and we were worried about the car. The bathroom door didn't close, and it was hard to have privacy.
- Carole (9/5): Lovely welcoming staff. Comfortable, clean room with en suite. - Good breakfast, cereals, orange juice, coffee & full cooked breakfast Room on the small side.
- Omailys (10/5): -
