• Oksana (10/5): - It is a lovely old house located on a beautiful square. We had a room with a view on it, while it was quite loud from the street noise (scooters and temple bells), it was amazing to sit by the window and watch the crowds.

• Viola (3/5): Rat in the room - Staff was friendly. The building itself is old and beautiful, with stunning woodcarvings. The location is great. On my first night I was woken up by a strange noise: there was a rat in my room. After waking up the night portier at 2am, they moved me to a different room (luckily no rats in this one). Considering what they charge, this is unacceptable. There's a tripadvisor review from 2025 that also complains about rats in the room. Looks like they still haven't solved the problem. In addition to this, the hotel is incredibly noisy, especially the rooms facing the square. After midnight there are still motorcycles, barking dogs, people talking, and the windows aren't soundproof at all. "Minor" issues: lack of cleanliness. Everything is run down and rather filthy, with a smelly bathroom. Rooms are dark and small, so if you're tall be careful to keep your head down constanly. I hate writing such a negative review, as the staff was really nice and apologized for the rats in my room. But still I feel fooled by all the enthusiastic reviews. I can only advise to stay somewhere else.
• Matthew (10/5): Incredible historical hotel with very comfy beds - What an amazing hotel in Dattetraya Square. This 700-year old gem of a building is built with gorgeous wood carvings on every post and window. Right out the front door, or out the windows in certain rooms, is the town square. It is fun and lively, but can be noisy if your room overlooks the square. One of our rooms was very quiet, the other less so. The beds were very comfortable, and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The food in the restaurant is good. I highly recommend! If your room faces the street it will be noisy early in the morning. Also some mosquitos got in through the windows at night. But the hotel is still amazing!!

Es ist ein ursprüngliches altes Haus und wunderschön eingerichtet. Ich hatte sogar die Wahl, ob ich ein größeres helleres Zimmer zur Straße haben möchte oder ein kleineres zum Innenhof, dafür aber ruhiger. Ich habe mich für das ruhige Zimmer entschieden. Die Gastgeber sind sehr herzlich und die Lage ist perfekt in der Altstadt von Bhaktapur. Auch das Restaurant kann ich nur empfehlen. Das Essen war hervorragend. Kann das Hotel zu 100% weiterempfehlen!

Lovely cafe area downstairs with statues and wooden carvings. Located on one of the historic squares and walking distance to other parts of the old town. Nice breakfast and served good coffee. Lovely hot shower. Quite a hard bed but it was fine for a few nights. Traffic noise outside until around 10pm then went pretty quiet until the morning.

The location is excellent ,tucked inside the historic area and within easy walking distance of Bhaktapur Durbar Square. Hotel building has traditional character, with authentic Newari details that add to the experience. Rooms are simple but comfortable, and clean. Service is warm and welcoming, giving a more personal, homely stay. We always stay at this place when visiting Bhaktapur and surely return again. Nothing

Loved the heritage building. - The location of this guest house near Dattatreya Temple is a good base for exploring Bhaktapur. The rooms in the heritage building are cozy and clean. It was an adventure just getting to your room climbing up the steep stairs and through low doorways. The staff were very good. The rooms that have windows facing the road are noisy with all the foot and car traffic.

My friends room faced the courtyard, so was quieter.

The room was really cozy with a warm blanket so it wasn’t too cold at night. The breakfast was really good. Staff was also freindly and helpful.

The facilities were so beautiful. It was cold at night but they provided heated blankets and a heater for the room. And plenty of hot water in the mornings!

• Deborah (9/5): - La struttura si trova in un edificio newari dal fascino incredibile, pernottare nella suite con vista sul tempio Dattatraya per me è stata un'esperienza impagabile. Le finestre in legno non sono molto isolanti acusticamente ma c'è da dire che la vita notturna è pressoché inesistente per cui la notte non ho avuto problemi con i rumori provenienti dalla strada. Ho soggiornato a dicembre e non ho avuto freddo, in ogni caso c'era una stufetta per scaldare la camera e lo scalda sonno nel letto. Ogni giorno in camera trovavo delle bottiglie d'acqua in omaggio, cosa molto gradita. Lo staff è super gentile e la colazione buona. L'hotel si trova a circa 15 minuti a piedi dalla Durbar Square, una piacevolissima passeggiata nel centro storico. Se avete problemi a dormire con la luce vi consiglio di portare una mascherina.

• Charles (8/5): Très bel établissement parfait pour la belle saison au cœur de la merveilleuse Bhaktapur - Le peacock et un établissement magnifique et ancien, hôtel héritage en bois et brique. Jolie cour intérieure fleuri, mobilier et déco très soignés Le patron est vraiment très agréable et de très bon conseil. Il nous a aidés à organiser notre périple. Très bon dessinateur aussi. Personnel adorable comme très souvent au Népal. Nourriture de bonne qualité En hiver l’hôtel n est malheureusement pas très confortable. Pas de chauffage sinon un chauffage d’appoint qui doit être éteint la nuit sinon c’est trop lumineux. Couverture de lit chauffante agréable . Mais il s’agit d’une très vieille bâtisse avec des portes basses, des escaliers très abruptes, une salle de bain très ancienne peu pratique.

Room is comfortable and spacious, little bit cold but necessary devices for heating are provided. Everybody very nice and helpful. It was a little cold, but this was my problem of not being used to stay in a cold place. This is something which is valid for all places we stayed. I just mention it so that if someone would stay, could be ready for that.

• Karin (8/5): Schöne, authentische Unterkunft mitten im Geschehen - Direkte Lage am schönsten Platz in Bhaktapur. Von meinem Zimmer konnte ich das Treiben auf dem Platz und am Tempel beobachten. Das Haus ist sehr schön renoviert, die Zimmer sehr individuell eingerichtet. Bett war sehr bequem und das Frühstück gut. Durch die sehr zentrale Lage bekommt man natürlich auch jedes Geräusch mit (Glocken am Tempel, feiernde Menschen etc.), aber das kann man sich bei der Buchung eigentlich auch denken. Badezimmer war für Nepal ok (ein Raum mit einer Duschbrause / fertig).

• Marlis (8/5): Historisches Hotel mit herrlichen Schnitzereien, das Bad verdient eine gute Renovierung. - Ein altes, historisches Hotel, dass bestimmt vor einigen Jahren, den Tripadvisor Choice verdient hatte. Das Essen ist hervorragend und das Frühstück ist sehr reichlich. Die Vermieter und Service Mitarbeiter äußerst freundlich und hilfsbereit. Die Matratzen sind beheizbar, was in den Wintermonaten hilfreich sein kann. Dankeschön dafür. Unser Zimmer im zweiten Stockwerk war geräumig, mit niedrigen Decken, aber das wussten wir vorher. Das Bad hätte dringend eine Renovierung nötig. Aus der Toilette kam immer wieder Wasser heraus. Insgesamt finden wir den Preis für dieses Zimmer nicht angemessen. Man bemüht sich um Sauberkeit in den Zimmern.

L'unico appunto negativo che si potrebbe eventualmente fare il fatto che ci fosse un po' freddo in camera ma la coperta scalda sonno in dotazione è stata molto utile. Per il resto tutto bene.

• Sonja (10/5): Wohnen in der Sehenswürdigkeit! Wie toll ist das denn?! - Das ganze Haus ist eine Sehenswürdigkeit an sich! Das Zimmer gibt einem das Gefühl, gerade in der Karawanserei abgestiegen zu sein, so exotisch, da kommt direkt das Gefühl von tausendundeiner Nacht auf. Ein echtes Erlebnis!! Allerdings hat man nachts auch das Originalgefühl.. und das macht es recht laut vom Platz draußen, aber irgendwie gehört auch das dazu… Das Bett ist echt bequem, das WLAN sehr gut, das Bad ist eben auch ins historische Gebäude hineingebastelt, aber sauber, nur nicht besonders schön, eben zweckmäßig. Also, wir würden es JEDEM für 1-2 Nächte als ERLEBNIS unbedingt ans Herz legen! Wir würden es wieder nehmen! Ich habe sehr viele Fotos gemacht… Ich hatte Sorge, weil die Decken ja so niedrig sind, aber man steht ja erstaunlich selten im Zimmer rum. Außerdem gibt es ja genug Sitzgelegenheiten..😉
• Tomoko (9/5): 貴重で温かみに溢れる体験でした。ありがとうございました。 - 歴史ある建築物に宿泊できる貴重な機会を頂きました。その雰囲氣は維持されながら室内も清潔に調えられ不自由を感じることはありませんでした。スタッフ皆さんもとても親切に、いつも笑顔で対応して下さいました。皆さんのホスピタリティを感じました。吹き抜けで頂くボリューミーな朝食はバランスが取られており、美味しく頂きました。 宿泊した部屋がダルバール広場に続く道に面していたこともあり、夜はお店からの音楽、朝は早くからの生活音が多少、氣にはなりました。 ただ、建物の性質上、防音窓にはできないでしょうし、そこも理解した上で総合的に素晴らしい滞在をさせて頂けたと感じています。

• James (9/5): A great stay! We wanted something with real atmosphere rather than a more generic modern hotel. - A unique old heritage property. Wonderful exposed woodwork and latticed windows looking down onto the square. The cafe where breakfast is served is peaceful and the food is excellent. The stairs are steep, but we were warned by the owners before hand, and the are pretty typical of Nepal. The staff carries all bags up and down from the rooms.

La gente encantadora y a la hora del desayuno y la comida, fueron rapidos y muy atentos- Nos dieron una habitacion que daba a la calle y los dos dias que estuvimos alli, nos despertaron los ruidos y canticos religiosos, que nos despertaban como si estuvieran dentro de la habitacion Tampoco me gusto la limpieza de la habitacion, quizas para ellos los estandares eran correctos, pero yo necesito mucha mas limpieza en la cama, sin fundas de colchon, ni de almohada. En la zona hay mucho polvo y con la ventana abierta entraba mucho a la habitacion.

• Enrico (10/5): Un albergo con vista su una piazza splendida - Albergo su una delle piazze più belle e suggestive di Baghtapur. La "suite" ha una vista splendida sulla piazza e ti permette di goderti la vita della città, fin dal primo mattino. Bagno un po' sacrificato e il termine suite non corrisponde all'immaginario e agli standard occidentale. La camera è però a parere nostro molto bella e caratteristica, davvero suggestiva e comoda.
• Samuel (6/5): Overall, an average stay with friendly staff, good location, and an authentic experience, but the comfort and maintenanc - I really appreciated the warm and welcoming staff, who were always ready to help. The location was perfect for exploring the area, and the accommodation offered an authentic local experience that made our stay truly memorable. Some of the facilities could be improved — several power outlets were not working, and the bathroom felt a bit basic. Considering the price of €55 per night, I think these aspects could be upgraded for a better guest experience.
• Daniel - Rita (10/5): Ga er gewoon heen. - Uitstekend ontbijt. Prachtige en comfortabele kamer. Vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Een echte aanrader. Spijtig genoeg konden we niet langer blijven.
