Guest Reviews
- Silvia (10/5): A gem in this town - This is a gem! Accommodations were excellent - from the room, bathrooms, access to garden and living room to the views, breakfast, everything was perfect! We highly recommend this place. The owner and Celeste are very charming and gave us excellent recommendations on places to visit and eat.
- Cruiser41744868409 (10/5): Fabulous! - What a gorgeous place! Tiny but perfect in every way! Unique bedrooms, divine breakfasts, beautiful bathrooms and stunning garden. The roasted nut and chocolate clusters for breakfast were sensational! Total heaven! Lori and Justin looked after us so well! Dying to go back already!
- Joebone1 (10/5): Exceptional hosts, venue, and destination! - This is an exceptional venue, and we can't praise it highly enough! Hosts Lori and Justin have done an amazing job of reinvigorating a 15th Century building that had been built to last, and have created an environment providing rich visual stimuli spanning the ages, yet also instilling tranquility. Everything works as it should, fittings and toiletries are first-class, and housekeeping is exquisite. Breakfasts feature a broad range of top quality offerings. But these physical manifestations are dwarfed by your hosts' genuine warmth and hospitality - and a shout out to Celeste, on staff! We've travelled extensively for business or pleasure over the decades, and can think of only a handful of experiences rivaling the hospitality of Palazzo Sant'Angelo.
- Altonites (10/5): A Wonderful Mix of 'Ancient and Modern' - We have just spent 6 fantastic nights at Palazzo Sant'Angelo in the fabulous care of Lori & Justin and team. They have carried out a beautiful and sympathetic modernisation of a glorious medieval building ensuring all creature comforts. The view of Bosco Santo from our room was simply astonishing and we were delighted to have made it up the top at Monteluco.
Everyone was so generous with their time and experience and it really does feel like 'home from home'. A particular thank you to Celeste who slips easily between Spanish, Italian and English and is so caring and efficient!
Spoleto is a beautiful city with so much great art and is ideal for simply wandering through the network of old streets. We were also very grateful for Lori's introduction to L'Angolo Antico, just a few steps away which we visited 3 times!
Thank you so much to the whole team for an amazing experience.
- damaguk (10/5): Beautiful boutique B&B - Beautifully renovated historic monastery overlooking the hills and situated nicely within the city. Lovely breakfast overlooking the gardens. Justin and Lori are phenomenal people - warm, inviting and kind with lots of knowledge of the area and always willing to help.
- Jonathan (10/5): - We loved our brief stay at this elegant hotel. We were greeted warmly by the lovely Lori and Celeste and shown to a beautiful room with stunning views. Our aperitivo in the garden was a great way to kick off the evening and breakfast was fantastic. The palazzo has been lovingly and beautifully restored. We will plan to stay longer next time.
- homerun60811 (10/5): Home away from Home - There are very few places that feel like home. Palazzo Sant Angelo did just that for me. This historic Palazzo has been restored and decorated by Lori and Justin, the owners. The limited number of rooms creates a very special feeling of being a guest in someone's home. Our room was spacious, quiet, clean and spotless. The bathroom was the highlight for me as I fell in love with the tiles in the bathroom stall and wanted to order them for my personal home. Breakfast is served in the lower level , with views of the mountain, and plenty of flora. I have food allergies which Lori took very seriously . They went above and beyond to ensure I had choices of food to eat. What made this stay so special is the owners Lori and Justin and their employee, who served us breakfast , and who greeted us with a big smile, always eager to help. Both Justin and Lori are interesting people and easy to converse with, but Lori went above and beyond being helpful, visible all day, and accessible by WhatsApp if need be. I particularly appreciated her restaurant suggestions and her reservation services, all of which were wonderful restaurants within walking distance. I did want to mention that prior to us arriving Lori went out of her way to assist us with the Music Festivals programming. I can’t say enough about Lori, Justin and their employees, but most importantly if you want to find a home away from home, Palazzo Sant.Angelo will do just that for you.
- Sonia (10/5): - We had a great time at this boutique hotel. It’s a charming place with a very kind staff. They do everything for you enjoy Umbria. The breakfast is very good, the view is beautiful and you can walk everywhere. I recommend it!
- Chris (10/5): - Laurie and Justin have a beautiful property and are outstanding hosts. When we return to Spoleto, we won’t even consider staying anywhere else.
- Cheryl (10/5): - Fabulous accommodations, service and breakfast! Highly recommend!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Local historico, bem decorado, super agradavel.
- Harry (10/5): - Beautifully restored palazzo, ample, beautifully decorated rooms, gorgeous views of the mountains from the room. The breakfast was outstanding — the best of all during our two-week trip in Italy. Laurie is a terrific host — gracious, knowledgeable and service oriented. Would definitely stay in this palazzo again!
- Jeppe (10/5): Taking B&B to a whole new level - Staying at Palazzo Sant'Angelo Boutique B&B is - by far - the best B&B experience we have ever had. The 600 year old palazzo located in the centre of the old town and overlooking the beautiful hillsides surrounding Spoleto has been renovated and decorated with impecable taste by the owners, who also made sure from start to finish that we felt very much at home. You could spend a day marveling at the beautiful details of this wonderful old house and the adjacent garden, but if you are short for time, at least make sure to enjoy a glass of wine in the piano lounge in the old cellar. It is spectacular.
It doesn't feel right to mention the service level, as we felt more like family than b&b guests, but yes, the service is outstanding, as is the cleanliness and the breakfast buffet.
We cannot wait to come back to Palazzo Sant'Angelo Boutique B&B, thank you for a wonderful stay.
Max & Jeppe
- Jennifer (10/5): - We attempt to be candid in our reviews, as we pay attention to that input ourselves when choosing properties. We have just returned from a month of traveling in Italy. We almost wished we had stayed here last, because the bar they set was so high that most other properties paled in comparison.
Our room was lovely, and just as pictured except larger. Great shower, and great towels and toiletries. The bed was amazingly comfortable. The view was beautiful, too. Breakfast was abundant with delicious hot dishes, fresh homemade exquisite pastries, fresh fruits, perfect coffee, and much more. The hosts are exceptionally warm and gracious. They were also great sources of local information. We honestly could not find a single fault with the property, offerings, or service.
- Lynn&Roy (10/5): - Lori and Justin are excellent hosts who made us feel very much at home. The place is beautiful, right in town and walking distance to everything.
We had the garden room, on the lower level with a walkout to the garden, the only room on that floor, very quiet, comfortable and private.
Highly recommended.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautifully restored and tastefully decorated old Palazzo; warmly welcoming hosts; plentiful and varied breakfast in the most exquisite breakfast room. Everywhere we stay from now on is bound to be a disappointment in comparison with Palazzo Sant'Angelo! Thank you Lori & Justin for a wonderful experience.
- Christina (10/5): Stop looking and book now! - I am not exaggerating when I say this is one of the best stays I've ever had a on a trip. The is perfect: quiet but less than five minutes walking Piazza Mercato, amazing restaurants, and just a little further to all the great historical sites. Each room is beautifully and thoughtfully decorated without overdoing it. Modern yet true to the history of the location. The garden was a wonderful respite for breakfast or an afternoon glass of wine, and the views from our room were incredible.
Our room was well equipped. Comfortable bed, TV (if you wanted it), a strong WiFi connection, heavenly toiletries, plush towels, hair dryer, and a selection of information about the area. The A/C wasn’t needed as we kept the shutters closed during the day and wide open to the evening air. We never heard the other guests. Breakfast was delicious and homemade by Lori.
What really makes Palazzo Sant’Angelo special are the owners and hosts, Lori and Justin. Their warmth and hospitality truly make this place special. We enjoyed every second we spent talking and getting to know each other. Justin was kind enough to pick us up from the train station and Lori gave us the best recommendations for dinner and helped us with reservations. She provided excellent advice on how to see and experience the town. We spent a few hours just conversing with them during our stay, and probably could have spent many more. I really do feel that we left as friends.
- Karen (10/5): BEST place to stay in Sooleto! - We adored staying here. Every detail was perfectly attended to. It’s so romantic abs restful yet a short stroll to amazing restaurants. Lori and Justin, the owners are amazing. We are in love with this place!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Tutto perfetto; magari l'orario dellla prima colazione potrebbe essere prolungato finio alle 10.30.
- Mary (10/5): - I can’t say enough about how lovely this B&B is. Lori and Justin have taken such care with every detail. The garden room was exquisite, the breakfast was perfect, the view was sublime and Justin and Lori are the perfect hosts. We enjoyed their company and their recommendations for restaurants and activities. And best of all, we are completely smitten with Spoleto. We will be back.
- Tamar (10/5): - This hotel is wonderful. The garden was so gorgeous we sat outside for hours. The owners could not do enough for us and the breakfast was lovely. The palazzo had been completely renovated but retained all of the charm of it’s ancient life. I will be back!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful all around. Staff are very accomodting and helpful.
