- GILLES Paris (10/5): Détente au chat lecteur - Lieu magique ! Que de bonnes ondes.
Séjour inoubliable.
Accueil familial.❤️ rien

- Reinhard (9/5): Nice old wooden guesthouse - The balcony was really nice. Quiet area. Room well equipped and big. Night market or walking street in walking distance The bed was rather a bit hard. Staff was more or less not present or hardly to be found
- Christopher (10/5): - Such a cool house! It’s like a mountainy jungle library retreat and we loved it. AC works well, bathroom was clean, the bed is a little hard (but that seems to be 90% of the beds here), and the outdoor space is so great. Super nice group of women running the place. Nan itself is not the most charming city in the world but it’s a good jumping off point to get to the nature and mountains of Nan Province, and the people are really nice. This place is also close to the night markets and things to do in Nan, and they have free bikes to use! Nothing, it’s really great
- Hattie (9/5): - A great place with lots of character! Very charming. A great location in Nan near to lots of the temples and restaurants.
- Jonathon (10/5): -
- Ian (10/5): - Fabulous place. An old wooden house with basic facilities and oodles of charm.
- Ian (10/5): - Quirky garden house. Just like home.

A recommander.
- Peter (10/5): -
- John (9/5): - Beautiful authentic rustic teak home in quiet setting. Loved my private deck for meditation. The owner/manager was in Bangkok during my visit so it was a bit difficult resolving things like local transportation etc, but everything worked out great and I would definitely stay here again. Not much food in the area.
- Phakkaphong (10/5): - I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, and the overall environment felt calm and welcoming. The service was good, and everything I needed was easily available. It’s a nice place to stay, and I’m happy with the experience.
- Dirk (8/5): A memorable place in Nan. - This rambling old wooden house has been going for a long time and little has changed. It is one of a kind, convivial, charming, quirky. Don't expect too much in terms of comfort, but it is a memorable stay. Tepid hot water, mosquitoes. Nothing siginificant.
- Maria (10/5): Fantastic - It was one of the best hotels ever with the most wonderful hostess. At the same time a great library and art space with a cozy atmosphere. Can’t wait to come back. None

- Jonathan (8/5): Lovely hotel in a great location - Very nice host, lovely seating area and cozy atmosphere in general, great location in walking distance to city center, bicycles and kitchen available Beds were quite short and hard, the bathroom opened which lets mosquitos in, a little noisy at night
- Anna Maria Theresia (10/5): Comfortabel gezellig gastvrij verblijf in Nan. Heerlijke tuin. Mooie bibliotheek. Heel aardige lieve eigenaresse. Heerlijk rustig. Prachtige gezellige kamer met een buiten. We voelden ons direct thuis en welkom. Een aanrader als je naar Nan gaat. 100%

- Deborah (10/5): - Best in north Thailand
- Deborah (10/5): Don’t miss this experience - A beautifully preserved wooden guesthouse, part library and part retreat, this place feels like a secret haven in the heart of Nan.
Built entirely in old teak, it carries the charm of a bygone Thailand—quiet, warm, and exquisitely tasteful. Every corner feels curated, from the vintage details to the shelves lined with books, creating a sense of intimacy that makes you want to slow down and stay a few days.
The location couldn’t be better: tucked inside a peaceful neighbourhood but still close to Nan’s temples, museums, bicycle routes, and some truly excellent local restaurants. The garden is a highlight—lush, fragrant, and perfectly kept, ideal for reading, journaling, or simply listening to the birds at sunrise.
This guesthouse captures the quiet sophistication that makes Nan the best small city in northern Thailand. It’s a place for travellers who appreciate authenticity, thoughtful design, and a slower rhythm. Absolutely worth lingering for more than just a night. None
- Pablo (10/5): -

- Marine (10/5): - Fab place in general and great accommodation in particular; the room with balcony is perfect, with more amenities you can need (kettle, coffee maker, local coffee, tea, and possibly more cups than I have back home). You can borrow bikes to wander around town, and if you want to explore further out with a car, ask the lovely lady at reception to put you in contact with Nmin, she’s a great driver and super nice company. I’ll go back without hesitation!
- Karl (10/5): - Very beautiful house in a lovely part of the city. Close to the nightmarket and some amazings places to have your typical thai iced coffee 😊
- Miroslav (9/5): -
- Camille (10/5): This place is a gem in Nan - The environment of this ancient house feeling has been carved over the year by the owner who is a delightful lady, very caring and friendly. The cafe on the ground floor serves the best coffee in the most relaxing atmosphere. I loved the tiny thoughtful decoration details spread around the area, the cleanliness of the whole place, excellent beds and bed linens, the plants everywhere.
Everything I could ever need was provided in my room (fridge, kettle, coffee, tea, cutlery etc.) there was even a terrace.
The guest house is also a library with plethora of great books, and hosts cultural events. You may meet great people there, ready to share their insights on the country, their culture and life in general.
It is located quite centrally though in a quiet neighbourhood. You can easily walk around (many shops and restaurants) or take a bicycle from the guest house if you want to explore a little further.
- Paul (9/5): This will be my place to stay every time I go to Nan. - Unique library-like Thai-style wooden guesthouse with several reading nooks and porches and balconies.
- Mofrie (4/5): -
- Pittaya (10/5): -
- Chaloempol (10/5): - Feel like grandma home. staff was friendly and love to take care of guesses. The owner s so kind and helpful.. I love this place Everything
- Weerayuth (10/5): One of the best northern traditional home - Everything ! Location, place, facilities & host. Just a bit small bathroom. It's ok for me but maybe too small for western tourists.
- Eglantine (10/5): - We loved the beautiful old house and library (cafe). Fantastic area, peaceful and authentic, such a charming place.
Spacious room, and outdoor areas to chill or read a book, a kitchen you can use. The owner runs all kind of art and craft workshops and she is very friendly. We loved everything.
- Roberto (10/5): Exceptional - Actually staying there was a wonderful jump into a quiet past. Old wooden house where time seemed to have stopped
- Antoine (10/5): Exceptional - Very clean property.
The book shop is a real upside, it adds to the peaceful atmosphere of the place.
The owner is really kind.
- John (10/5): Exceptional -
- Pierluigi (10/5): Wonderful home stay with art and literature - The atmosphere is a real local one, the house is of old style but confortable and welcoming. The staff is friendly but also leave your privacy. Inside the house is hosted a small library and independent editor so you have the chance to participate to events on art and literature that is not something so common in Thailand. Nothing, if you like this kind of accomodations you will love this place
- Luca (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing place, a little gem in the middle of the city. Lovely people run the place
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely building. Close to town centre and 7/11. Kitchen and fridge a nice bonus. Very quiet Nothing
- Marshima (10/5): Exceptional - Comfy bed, clean toilet and friendly owner. Nothing
- Eva (9/5): Superb -
- Masanobu (10/5): Exceptional - Good vibes for stay .,Library was nice !! None
- K.pooh (9/5): Superb -
- Bungorn (9/5): Suitable for relaxation - Good Location Very nice staff
- Akrawe (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly and lovely staff, amazing atmosphere and elegant place both the Guesthouse and Library 😊😊
- Paul (6/5): Atmospheric, but limited in services and comfort. - Old teakwood buildings with lovely wood floors and pleasant atmosphere. Well-located. Very hard mattress.
- Jiří (9/5): Nice experience - Nice experience. It is wooden house and my feeling was like museum which I visited I Nan (Noble Hoise) mixed with library. Room is basic but ok. The common premises are spacious and nicely decorated. The owner was very polite and welcoming. The bed was a bit too firm to my liking. I would also recommend to pay more attention to cleaning.
- Metha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kathleen (8/5): Gorgeous wooden house - Absolutely beautiful wooden house and garden. My room was very large and light (though too light at night) and the huge communal area is gorgeous. The location is great - very close to some of the main sights and the weekend night markets; there's a 7/11 just around the corner, and a laundry nearby. Don't miss the excellent Hot Bread cafe.
Unlimited chilled filtered water and sustainable toiletries.
Friendly staff. It was difficult to get a good night's sleep for several reasons: the bed was lumpy and the pillows hard and too high; some of the windows don't have curtains so the communal lights shine in at night; as it's a wooden house, you can hear every sound that yr neighbours make. My room was above one of the family members and she turned on her tv/radio at 5am which kept me awake.
The facilities in the communal kitchen were inadequate, eg there was no functional kettle, or tea towel. A toaster and microwave would have been nice.
There was no wardrobe or cabinet to store stuff.
- Anikamon (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lydia (10/5): A library, coffee house and guest home. What is there not to love! - This is a lovely quirky and peaceful place to stay where you can relax in the library with a cup of coffee and read or walk into town to see the sights. I loved this place. The accommodation is basic but cared for and I enjoyed my stay very much Nothing. It was all wonderful!
- Moira (9/5): Unique wooden guesthouse - Unique wooden guesthouse. Small coffee shop with great seating area surrounded by books, magazines, artwork and nicknacks to buy and soothing gentle jazz music.
The upper floor with the bedrooms had a mini kitchen area with free coffee and a fridge.
The large verandah had a dining area and plenty of relaxing seats with even more books over looking the garden also with seats.
There was free use of bicycles.
My bedroom was large with it's own bathroom. The mattress on the bed was rather firm.
- Panita (10/5): Been there twice and not disappointed. Still the first place to stay in Nan in my list. - Homey and very peaceful vibe, best location, free bike, good coffee None
- Carl (10/5): Exceptional - I liked a lot the library and its books
The host was very friendly
- Peichieh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Chiewchan (4/5): Disappointing -
- Tadeja (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ann (9/5): Wonderful place for all - The ambiance. Rustic and quiet. It’s a library and homey. Very clean place.
Hostess provides useful information.
I was there in mid Dec and was able to see the Gemini meteor shower!
Weekend night market of more than 150 stalls is just 15 minutes’ walk away. Wifi is super strong. 7 Eleven is 30 m away. Museum and bus station all within 1 km. Maybe the creaking wooden floor makes it noisy and affects others. Bring your own towel.
- Ang (9/5): Superb - Place is nice and chill. it has a library of books and house is made of wood. Feels traditional. Area is clean, lady in charge is very friendly and helpful. mosquitoes .
- Jomsri (9/5): Superb - Native atmosphere. This is beyond my expectations. Free bicycle. Nice host. Close to the town. Love all smiles and all welcoming people. Not suit for elderly people. Different level of floor in some room and all rooms are in the second floor.
- Reto (9/5): Superb - Beautiful traditional house in a relaxing garden, including a library to explore.
- Paola (8/5): An interesting experience -
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional - The lady that runs this is so professional, helpful, and kind. All good.
- Csilla (10/5): Exceptional -
- Gill (10/5): Exceptional - Quirky, traditional, character. Very close to everything. Located on a quite side street. Really interesting accommodation with wooden floors and lovely seating areas. Use of fridge and crockery The free use of the bicycles was a real bonus. The library area was great too. Lovely lady owner. Nothing
- Alessandro (9/5): Superb - The place is calm and beautiful with lots of cats. Great tea too
- Robert (5/5): Disappointed - Great location. The place has not been kept up. Small, very hot room with a fan that helped little. Owner is expanding the library when the guest house really needs improvement.
- Nicole (7/5): A Cozy, Safe and Traditional Stay - I very much enjoyed the authentic restored Lanna house. The business is clearly a labor of love, with traditional Thai amenities, including the library and additional facilities. It was very safe, but having maintained the original construction, etc sound travels very easily and I was able to hear other guests and highway traffic well into the night. Personal preference for a softer bed and pillow, and hot water would have been nice.
- Ghasira (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yew (9/5): Superb -
- Heico (10/5): A very special, very Lanna place - I had the wonderful big room with wood floor. It was very quiet and at night I could open all the windows, thanks to good mosquito screens all around and perfect temperatures in early December. The private terrace, shaded by plants, to that room is great too; in the morning you only hear sweet talkative birds and mutedly, occasionally, a gong from nearby Wat Montian.
Great compound with two wooden houses, very leafy. Car parking narrow, but easier opposite Wat Montian. Laundry service nearby. Lots of good lady bicycles free to use (bring your own lock). Owner Krutom is super helpful and friendly, but not always around (saved my trip by patiently finding a bag repair and had other helpful suggestions).
A very special, very Lanna place to stay.
- Alan (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely atmospheric guest house for an amazing price. Quiet location but close to town centre. Free bikes were a bonus to get to the other side of the river.
- Thomas (8/5): I do hope to return. - The Guesthome is very much cradled by nature — flowers, bees, exotic flora of which the sensory stimuli provide for a ming calming stay. This location offers easy access to markets, cultural activities and all Nan has to offer. hhhmmm?
- Max (10/5): Beautiful house and very comfortable stay. - Beautiful house and room, lovely woman running the place. it’s very chilled and clearly a lot of thought and effort has gone into the design and building. A unique place to stay in lovely Nan. Great location in a quite Soi, just a short walk from the town centre. I wish I had booked for more than one night! nothing
