😉 RAS
- Petra (9/5): Doporučuji - Lokalita je skvělá okolo příroda a klid. Snídaně byla chutná. Večeře byla také fajn.

- Wilma (9/5): We enjoyed the quiet! - Food and amenities was great!
- Daniel (8/5): Very good -
- Holm (10/5): Quiet place near Karlovy Vary - Good value for money. Quiet. Payment only in cash (ATM available, but this is less convenient and an added cost for international visitors). Wellness center is very busy making it difficult to get a spot on a short stay. Hotel mainly geared towards Czeck guests leading to some language difficulties, but staff is very willing to help.
- Trail240418 (2/5): The hotel does not deserve four stars - Unprofessional receptionist (sit over there and fill out the check-in form when we have time and we'll come check you in). Broken doors of the tiny elevator (non-functioning photocell, so the doors pinch the guest). A tiny space without a chair cannot be called a balcony.
Rooms the size of a small prison cell, no wardrobe, no laptop table, weak signal. Bathrobes (mouse gray) and slippers only for a fee. The promised forest and stream below the hotel -- in reality, overgrown trees and a road (relatively busy). Never more! Do not trust the hotel photos, they are misleading.
- Jordi (6/5): Clean but price/quality not worth it - Clean First of all, they tried to cancel my booking for full price without my notice. Luckily this was prevented by booking.com customer service. It is a big hotel, still you can only pay cash. They charge for everything, also parking, while the hotel is not on walking distance from anything worth visiting. All “wellness” is expensive and time restricted even the swimming pool. Only a few staff members speak English or German. The room was above the smoking terrace, as non-smokers it was very unpleasant that smoke was blowing into the room. Balcony is too small to even sit on. Dog costs 400czk per night, which is not shown anywhere and expensive (+- 4 times as much) compared to other stays.

- Eldar (9/5): Superb -
- Skabradak (10/5): just perfect - Nice new rooms , beautiful bathroom, perfect breakfast with a lot of choices for your taste.. professional service parking fee
- Oleksandr (6/5): Pleasant -
- Cosmin (8/5): Very good - I used only the room for one night and we had a triple room and was great. The way that the staff was serving us at the table and the cash payment obligation was very rude. After speaking with the owner we received a payment link on email and we payed in 1min .
- Hasan (9/5): Superb -
- IvanaH573 (6/5): Lot to be improved - Spent Ladies Wellness weekend here with my friends. Its located in the middle of woods, cca 5 km from center of Karlovy Vary. Very quite and cool area during the hot Summer days. Rooms are very small with a basic furniture. Shower is part of the room separated by the glass ( someone can find this disturbing). Receptionists were very confused and stressed (probably by the huge numbers of guests during the weekend). Huge disappointment was the Wellness area. In 4 star Hotel I would expect the slippers and a bathrobe to be part of the stay. Not in this case. Bathrobe was to be borrowed for 100 czk, slippers to be bought for 30czk. (We found out this only during the check out when given the final bill) No information were given upon entry of wellness area, we did not know where to go or what to do - the whole stay was very confusing , asking for the information and direction all the times. Procedures were already given with no possibility to choose the times, so we were kind of stuck the whole morning waiting for them, unable to do the day trips because of this. Second huge let down was the dinning area. Dirty tables with no cutlery on the tables is not what you expect in this kind of hotel especially so soon after Pandemic. Staff was friendly, but apparently not copying with so many guests. I would not recommend this hotel, there are other wellness hotels with better service around this area.
- miriamm144 (2/5): Disappointed :( - I can´t not believe how they get such good rewiews. I just book it for enjoying a weekend with my boyfriend and i just think i lost our time and our money. 4 stars hotel?? WHERE? the rooms are not clean. I show a photo behind the bed. You could find anything there. the "welness" OMG, That is not wellness. There are different rooms like in the doctor (that actually you have to pay extra) for doing joke thinks. For example, staying in a "salty room". 6 "beds" and you can breathe salt? WTF. I just get mad thinking about that. For the "moorpackung" you lie on the most unconfi bed and they don´t change the towels from the people who used it before.
Is in the middle of nowhere...
Just the worst hotel I ever seen...
- jacobi494 (2/5): Wellness relax weekend? Poor information, "forced" relax - We decided to take an offer at spa.cz for a relax weekend at the Green Paradise hotel. Since Carlsbad has a good reputation as spa destination, this was very exciting for us.
Unfortunately the expectations were not matched in any sense... The package included stay at the hotel and 5 activities: oxygen therapy, inhalation therapy, mud massage, jacuzzi and salt room. All the therapies were sharply timed: only 20 minutes per activity (except the salt room, which was 30 minutes but we left after 15 minutes because the room was extremely cold). The oxygen therapy was very awkward; they put us into a room, gave us a hospital-like device to breath oxygen through the nose and told us to "relax!". The inhalation was the same but with a device that emanates vapor. Nothing special. The jacuzzi pool was nice, but again sharply stopped after 20 minutes - which was then impossible to use as a relaxation. Personnel were in general rude, with the exception of one waiter and an employee at the spa area. There are no common areas in the spa floor (only a waiting room with some seats) no swimming pool and no sauna. Everything has to be booked and will be sharply stopped after the estipulated time. We received no information about meal schedules and food choices. If you're vegetarian, choices are extremely limited - if you're vegan, forget about eating here. The stay did not include a bath robe, nor a pair of home shoes/sandals.
Definitely not recommended if you actually want to relax.
- NandorV5 (8/5): Fantastic spa treatments - The location of the hotel is excellent the city center is very near by but the hotel located behind the hill in a naturous place. The room was clean and luxurious. Spa treatments are the best things in the hotel! The levander bath and the massage was very relaxing. The breakfast and the dinner was tasty. The biggest mistake: the staff did not speak english and when we booked the spa treatment it was a half an hour to discuss.
All in all we had a great time!
Thank You! :)
- RayH517 (10/5): Coach tour brought us here - no complaints! - The location is great - peaceful setting 3-4km from centre of Karlovy Vary. Happy with the standard of the room (only disappointment was tour co's brochure said "most" rooms had balconies but only 50% (those at the front) did; we didn't get one. The terrace at the front was great for after-dinner drinks (or just drinks!) and socialising with fellow guests, or just chilling. Food was good, if straightforward (probably because of being part of a coach party). Drinks were inexpensive (& quite nice) and the barman knew the order from 2nd round onwards! Hotel clean, staff good, atmosphere good. Didn't try the spa facilities, but gather that they are fine and extensive. If in a room at the back, the aroma of breakfast cooking can waft up a bit, didn't bother me - might be a negative for some people. Breakfast was good, by the way¬
- _efremenko_xray85 (10/5): Away from crowd - Very cozy hotel located in the green area near the river approximately 3-5 km away from the overcrowded tourist Karlovy Vary. There are clean quiet rooms, friendly stuff, quite diverse tasty breakfasts and the entire floor of spa facilities.
- 216nikitai (10/5): Beautiful place - Had a very nice room, very clean and modern. Staff were helpful, great cocktails at the lounge bar at a very reasonable price. Very fresh air and great scenery outside! The breakfast that's included was delicious and had plenty of choice. Overall delighted with our stay!
- ElinaP457 (10/5): Value for money - Great half-board hotel.
Breakfast was sumptuous. Dinner included starter soup, two main course choices and dessert.
Clean, cleaner went everyday.
Service was friendly and helpful.
Spa treatment package a nice addition to your stay. No swimming pool.
Wifi worked in the lobby, room of the second floor poorly.
Not quite in the center, but problem? Not at all.
Street train to downtown right outside the front door.
Local bus tickets can be bought at reception and buses run to city centre every hour.
Worth downloading to phone Mapy.ch, also offline tracking, on the map you can see roads, bus stops, attractions, paths. We drive from Prague Airport with the help of that application and every went smoothly.
- sarahaY3787BE (10/5): Perfect get-away -
I did some extensive research before booking here, and i would definitely do it again!
This place is ideal whether you are a couple of love-birds or -like our case- a couple of friends looking for some one-on-one time relaxing and being pampered away from work/university, boyfriends, and parents (to all the bosses, teachers, boyfriends, and parents reading this, we love you!). We had an absolutely great time, but you, the prospective guest, may want something different depending on your budget, interests, and priorities.
I am going to start by confirming what other reviews have noted: 1) the hotel is a bit far out of the city center and 2) the hotel exterior looks a bit dated, but it is completely renovated and modern on the inside. You have absolutely nothing to worry about. 3) There is no swimming pool.
Location: we had a car, so that was perfect. It was easy finding the place with GPS. I recommend going to the city center at least to just spend a bit of time there and eat. It is really gorgeous. The good thing about being far from the city is being able to take a walk/run in the forest and waking up to the beautiful sound of birds chirping and the soothing sound of the river water.
Hotel/room cleanliness: Our room was super clean (i am a food safety specialist, so you can trust me on this). I have read some reviews that mentioned some concerns, but ours was very good.
Food: breakfast was very good, no complaints at all. we had dinner there twice and they offer a set 3 course menu with a choice between two main dishes. So the city center will offer a much greater variety. (Also you have to pay in cash at the bar for some reason. Card payment was not accepted. This can be annoying).
Spa offerings: we tried the chocolate bath, full body massage, salt cave, the indian head massage, and a face cleansing treatment. All were great except the chocolate bath was more of a bath in cocoa powder. Would be too perfect if you were bathing in actual melted chocolate now, wouldnt it?!
- tazcazEngland (10/5): 3rd visit to resort Poppy - Rating 8.5 since our last visit definitely should be 10.5 !!! Could not fault our stay, staff, cleanliness, food, all surperb. They go above and beyond for the guests we will definitely be going again late summer with friends beautiful location lots of spa treatments to enjoy. A big thank you to Martian Charles and the rest of the staff for the surprise birthday party they arranged for my husbands birthday words are not enough.
- zsangyal (6/5): Overall good stay with some "but" - Overall it came out an average stay.
Booking was quite easy through Booking.com. Only notice that the hotel did not react to my clarification email (asking the pricelist of the spa and whether we need upfront booking of the spa facilities)
Some of the staff were friendly and helpful. Others trying to rip you off (eg selling the gin-tonic (price 90 CZK) at the bar as separate item - gin (160) + tonic (39) so check your receipt BEFORE you sign)
Cleanliness is acceptable, though the bathroom design is "not ideal" (windows glass towards the room, placement of the shower making the door wet - therefore in all three rooms we booked the bottom of the doors were awful.
Restaurant is good for one or two dining, but then no more choice: small hotel, small variety.
Free Wifi: signal strength in the rooms are bad or none on the 2nd floor where we stayed. Even in the lobby the speed is rather low.
- tom_Y3575GJ (10/5): Best holidays - Simply the best, luxury place, close to Karlovy Vary, friendy staff, clean room, friendly director, nice spa, great value for money, hight quality, tasty food. Ideal place for relax and traveling. Nice rooms with balcony.
- matk0h (6/5): A clean and solid hotel - A clean and solid hotel, breakfast is ok, the welness area is average with excelent massage and salt room. The stay is noisy when the hotel is full. Its located near a river with great hiking trails. Would recomend it for its price. The staff speaks english, german and russian. Wifi is ok.
- Amelielleb (6/5): Peaceful average hotel - Peaceful hotel with fresh poppy theme, well isolated from all the fuss. The view from the balcony is filled with trees and all you will hear is the sound of the river below! Ok breakfast and nice lobby bar with espresso machine.
The staff speaks very poorly English, even at the reception ("Germany, please!"). The dinner was quite a disappointment in every way (tasteless and suspicious food just throwed on the plate). Our room was not even once cleaned on our 5-day stay! We could manage with the towels wanting to be eco-friendly but that didn't give any high class image of the hotel.
- mariedO9500LM (10/5): Small bright flower like - ..that's the room in Resort Poppy. Clean, straight lines, modern design and open view glass shower in the room. My boyfriend went in wellness area for massage which help him from his back pain and then we had excellent dinner in the hotel restaurant. We spent there just one night, but we had good sleep and could relax. We will certainly come back..
- 883matejah (10/5): totally surprise - hudy napad ! - The hotel is also just withdrawn from the city center to enjoy the sounds of nature.
the external appearance of the hotel is the opposite, what you expect interior.
beautiful, new rooms and very friendly staff. genuine smile and warm greeting is what begins a magical holiday or day.
I strongly recommend
thank you, Poppy resort.

- VVP1995 (8/5): Excellent - Pre-stay practicalities :
1. Booking :
We booked this hotel directly via hotel website.
The booking went smooth. We complete led a short booking request form directly on the hotel's website and within 24 hours we received a confirmation via email.
We opted for EUR 78 per person "sleep-well" package.
Hotel was also very generous to include a baby cot without charging us anything extra for it. (It is highly appreciated.)
2. We also called the hotel to enquire about the car parking. The receptionist spoke good English and seemed friendly. The parking is free, and it outside the main entrance and also behind the hotel. Plenty of parking spaces are available.
3. What made me select this particular hotel above other hotels in Karlovy Vary, and was :
- price : EUR 78 per person half board, including Internet and parking; which is probably the best price in the Karlovy Vary region.
- the location appeared to be in secluded area, away from all tourists/crowd which is what we were looking for
- I was hoping for a swimming pool in the hotel. However, after reading on the hotel website and reviews from other guests, I knew that the hotel did not have it. So no issues there as I made an informed decision of booking this hotel with prior knowledge of this fact.
------------------
After the booking until the actual stay in the hotel :
I read some more reviews and researched the area in detail.
1. Housekeeping :
Some previous guests had mentioned in their reviews regarding the housekeeping did not meet their expectations.
-> So we decided to take with us some extra toilet rolls, a soap gel and towels (for unforeseen situations)
2. Small room size:
This actually I found out after reading some of the "Czech" reviews (after translating) that the rooms are apparently very small.
-> I felt a bit disappointed, and wanted to cancel the reservation; but then later got busy with other things and it slipped my mind. When I thought about this topic again, it would have been a short notice; so I decided to just let it go...secretly hope that I would not have to regret it.
3. Maps + GPS:
As some of the previous reviewers had complained that they could not find the hotel, I was prepared for this using the free IPhone Apps.
Here is what I recommend:
(A) Google Maps -> offline version can be downloaded for free
(B) mapy.cz -> free iPhone app, very detailed offline map of entire Czech Republic.
Pity that it is only available in Czech language. I however found it very straightforward to use.
(C)Sygic - offline map 7 days premium version - As a back up map+GPS
(D) Here maps + GPS from Nokia : offline navigation + speed limits warning
-------------------
Arrival in Karlovy Vary :
We arrived via Prague.
Vignette: we already had a vignette purchased for 10 days; so didn't care much about this. However, as per my research if you arrive from Chemnitz Germany, you can arrive in Karlovy Vary without having to pay for the Vignette->
As long as you stay on E442 and not go on E48, no vignette is required.
--------------------------
Hotel review:
1. Outside:
It is true that the hotel does not look great from the outside. However the inside area is modern and plush.
2. Location : the hotel is located far from the Karlovy Vary City Centre. The place is tranquil. There is a small river just outside the hotel which has a calming effect overall.
3. Check in : was smooth. We were in the room within 10 mins of arrival
4. Room size : indeed it is a small
Room. (Number 118)There is however a lot of space for bags underneath the bed and in the closet. Our room was on the first floor, facing the front of the hotel, overlooking the river. Our package included Sleep Therapy; and therefore we had a special stand alone air purifier in the room. Room size did not eventually matter because we were out most of the time.
5. On the key ring, you will find the internal phone number for reception and SPA. Furthermore, also the breakfast and dinner times. Wireless internet is free and does not require password.
6. SPA : both ladies at the SPA were helpful and caring. We enjoyed some of the procedures with our little baby.
7. Distance from Karlovy Vary:
The hotel is quite far from Karlovy Vary centre. We went to the city centre by our car once and parked just after Richmond hotel. It's CZK 30 per hour.
The city bus also has a stop from outside the hotel (before the blue bridge). You can buy the bus ticket (which we did ) at Hotel Reception for CZK 25 per person return.
There is also a "road train" which goes from directly outside the hotel to the Karlovy vary centre and costs CZK 80 per person return. (The speed limit for this road train is 25 km Per hour. )
8. Housekeeping:
Towels were replaced on the second day; however not the toilet rolls. We had a spare toilet roll so this wasn't an issue for us.
9. Bath robe and white flip flops were provided to visit SPA facilities (which is located at in -1 of the building).
10.Dinner : a choice of 3 course menu offered each night . Drinks not included. The main course on both nights was delicious.
11. Breakfast :buffet breakfast from 7 am to 10 am.
(Eggs, beacon, sausages, ham, croissants, salami, two types of cheese, tea, coffee, water, orange juice, butter, fresh fruits were available. )
Both, the breakfast and dinner were delicious
To summarise: I would gladly return to this hotel in the near future.
- tazcazEngland (10/5): Beautiful hotel and spa - This was our second visit to this hotel, and we enjoyed it even more than our first visit. Martian and carrol were perfect hosts nothing was to much trouble. The rooms were spotless the food was delious , the spa is second to none and the prices are half of what you would pay in England . The hotel is in a forest in the middle of pine trees so peaceful and relaxing. I would recommend anyone to stay here as every thing is perfect it is so nice that you want to keep it your secret , afraid that if we tell people we might not be able to book a room next time we want to go Ha Ha karlvory vary is a beautiful town with lots to see and do,one hour fiftie minutes coach trip from Prague airport
- 410luciep (10/5): Excellent stay - We visited Resort Poppy because of International Film Festival KV. We were very satisfied! Everything was perfect: clean and comfortable rooms – everything what you need, very helpful staff – 24 hours available, nice people, perfect restaurant, delicious breakfast.
This resort has also SPA procedures, but we didn´t try it.
Very close to the centre (just 5 minutes by car, taxi cca 200 CZK) and also nice cycle tracks around.
Thank you Resort Poppy :)
