• Stan (8/5): Friendly staff, great breakfast and location. - The location near Höfn was ideal. The facility had a large easy to navigate parking lot for larger vehicles and buses. The registration workers were knowledgeable and very helpful/friendly. The breakfast included a large typical Euro spread with breads, cereals, cold cuts of meat and cheese, pastries, boiled eggs and more. Juice, milk and coffee were included. Getting the breakfast is a good value. The rooms were very utilitarian but functional. Nothing.

• John (3/5): Would NOT recommend this "hotel". - The view from our room. No phones. No refrigerator. We booked through Booking.com, so we did not get the free breakfast listed on their website for "every room". Very poor lighting; we had to put the tiny lamps on a stack of towels to be able to read (uncomfortably) in bed, as there was no suitable lighting for reading in the room. Small room with no place to put things; cramped area required us to move items multiple times. Loud, early morning banging from the tour groups which frequent this hotel (probably because of their relatively low rates). Dinner was very slow; it took one hour to get our food and there were only a handful of people in the restaurant. My food was cold and the portions ridiculously small (the hotel took 30% off my meal, but it was still overpriced for the portions served). I assume these three problems were related to the impending arrival of the tour buses, which took over the restaurant when they got there (48 people at once). We were there two nights. I thought about sleeping in my car the second night. Be forewarned, this is a glorified hostel more than a low price hotel.

• Lisa (7/5): Good to stay on your Iceland roadtrip. - Clean and decent but nothing special. The location is convenient for your Iceland roadtrip. Breakfast was good and so was the service.

En el lavamanos no podías lavarte ni la cara de lo peque - Buena zona para ver auroras, aunque había que coger coche porque el hotel estaba lleno de farolas y las ventanas no podían abrirse. El baño sin plato de ducha ni mampara hacía que se mojara todo y era muy incómodo. El lavamanos era tan pequeño que no había forma de lavarse la cara. El hotel rodeado de farolas con mucha luz lo que te obligaba a coger coche para ver auroras. Las ventanas no podían abrirse. No había TV.

Although the bedroom was very spacious and comfortable the bed was really soft (which gave us back pain the next day) and the shower was overflowing so our bathroom looked like a pool after taking a bath.

The door unlocks as soon as you turn the handle on the inside- not ideal for curious kids. A higher lock out of the reach of children or one that stays locked until intentionally unlocking would be better.
