La maison est trés agréable et particulièrement bien décorée.
Notre chambre était trés confortable. Nous avons pu être surclassé et cela a été une bonne surprise.
Petit déjeuner copieux.
Tout a été parfait
- Frederick (10/5): - Beautiful stately home at the top of the ridge overlooking town. Spacious and elegantly appointed rooms with comfortable beds, reading chairs, and — per old b&b standards— a great shared bathroom that had an excellent shower. Wonderful hosts.
- colinb636 (10/5): Fantastic stop over for a road trip. - What a lovely peaceful hotel. The rooms are very well presented and the owner is really welcoming. I am sitting on the porch writing this listening to only the sounds of nature. Perfect if you are on a road trip and what something better than the usual chain motels.
- Lynn (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay . Inn was clean and comfortable .
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We had a very nice stay. The kingsize bed is SOOO comfy AND ADJUSTABLE! That was a great treat! I slept so great!
We did not utilize much of the house other than our room but the house is beautiful and welcoming. Big front porch to enjoy coffee in the morning ( as we did ) or drinks in the evening.
- Lynn (10/5): - Beautiful and clean . We enjoyed all the antiques and decorative touches in the house . Tammy was great , Thank you !
- LOUIS (10/5): - The owners David & Tammy were great hosts. We arrived late - not a problem. They upgraded us to a room with a beautiful attached sunroom. Sitting on the beautiful front porch & it is getting cool - they brought us warm throws to stay cozy. Quiet, cozy and with thoughtful hosts- no one could ask for more!
- Hervé (10/5): Amazing place - Very nice play, very quiet, very friendly…
« que du bonheur »
we loved it
- Patricia (10/5): - Super beautiful and nicely restored. Friendly owners. We enjoyed our stay and hope to return.
- Renee (6/5): - We didn't realize that the bathroom would be a shared bathroom. Fortunately, we were the only guests. Our guest room was small and could use updating (i.e. linens, spreads, rugs). We slept well with a window air conditioner running. Breakfast was in their breakfast room. Table was set as if there would be a hot breakfast but all that was available was very tasteless bagels (one plain and one everything bagel), 2 non-bakery muffins (one blueberry muffin and one chocolate chip muffin), and some assorted packages of oatmeal. The butter that was left out for us had some spaghetti sauce on it. The coffee was a Kuerig that we had to fill with water. when we wanted a second cup. On the positive side, there was a small refrigerator with some drinks in the dining area. the only plates were large dinner plates, so we put our half bagels on a napkin and ate outside. We sat on the front porch eating our bagel and the owner came out to talk with us for a while in his bathrobe. When we were ready to check out we were greeted with "we were in the hot tub" and thank you for coming. Positive notes: we had a parking space, we had a spacious front porch to sit on, we had a/c in the room, and we had bottles of water available to us.
- Peter (10/5): - Beautiful Inn, we like older buildings and this one awesome well decorated and friendly family! Thank you
- Matt (10/5): - Great place to stay! Very friendly and great location! Definitely recommend this inn!
- Dawn (8/5): - The property is a beautiful old home that has been nicely decorated and the hosts have included many amenities. I stayed in the Yellow Room which has a lovely sun room that I very much enjoyed. I’m not a light sleeper but I wasn’t able to get to bed early as sound travels well in this property. As much as I loved the home, I must say that I was disappointed with the breakfast items - some fresh fruit would make a nice addition to the offerings. Overall, it was a great pit stop on my trip through Maine.
- Michelle (10/5): Our 1 night stay - We picked the room with a king bed, but could have chosen the room with the queen and a porch. Sleep was comfy cozy. Shower was great!
A little pool, hot tub, fire pit and bluetooth wifi to the tv was a great bonus.
We were able to pull up with our trailer and side by side...Trails were a short ride the down the road.
The owner Dave was helpful and kind.
- Lily (10/5): - The owners were very nice, the home was charming and the beds were comfortable so we slept well. Would highly recommend this bed & breakfast.
- Rebecca (10/5): - Very friendly people. Beautiful accommodations.
- Aimee (8/5): Quite stay - Clean room friendly owners
- Oscar (10/5): - Iit is all wonderful
- 550lauriej (10/5): A true gem! - What a beautiful warm place. Daughter and son in law moved to a nearby town and we wanted to help them get settled. Their home was not ready for visitors. There was very few choices, this looked the best. We hit the jackpot! Rooms were gorgeous and comfortable!Owners were so friendly and helpful!Breakfast was delicious! Banana bread and scones out of this world!Cant wait to come back!
- Susan (10/5): -
Would have loved more of a breakfast.
- Janine (10/5): - The gentleman who signed me in was very polite & professional. I felt right at home. My overnight stay was amazing, comfortable & quiet. I would go there again.
- Jennifer (6/5): - The interior of this property is beautiful. The furnishings are very nice and there are plenty of toiletries if you left yours at home. The owner is very nice and willing to help. I had an issue with the fire place not working and the owner was able to fix it the next day. The only issues I had were that the property is 420 friendly, which I didn’t know going into it, the whole inside smelled like weed. But it wasn’t too overpowering. The other thing was the breakfast was very sparse. No hot items were available. Overall an average stay.
- charity (10/5): - I had an amazing visit! Everything was just as pictured, awesome continental breakfast and amenities in the room. I would definitely book here again
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Taylor Edes is a beautiful mansion filled with lovely antiques and sparkling clean. We were greeted and shown around by one of the owners, who made us comfortable and offered us plenty of amenities. The bed was comfortable, and in spite of being built in 1915, much thought was put into having plenty of electrical outlets for all our electronic devices.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - Taylor Edes is a beautiful mansion filled with lovely antiques and sparkling clean. The bed was comfortable, and in spite of being built in 1915, much thought was put into having plenty of electrical outlets for all our electronic devices.
- Les (10/5): - The Palmers made our trip to Dexter comfortable and informative.
- james (10/5): - The host is a super host, great guy. Made you feel at home right away. Beautiful house with everything you need.
- Bill (10/5): - Relaxing
- Tina (8/5): - Lots of beautiful decor and personal touches made for a memorable stay. I didn't realize it was a shared bathroom arrangement when I booked, but it turned out to fine/doable. The host was very friendly and responsive. We appreciated the recommendations he provided for Bar Harbor, which was the next stop on our trip.
- Kimberly (10/5): - Owners were very friendly and helpful. This was our first B&B experience and David was attentive, informative, and outgoing. He recommend a great pizza place, had tourism suggestions, and historical information about the house! If you want a central spot in Maine to radiate out from and feel like you’re at your great grandma’s house this is the place for you!
- David (10/5): - It is a very well maintained old house.
- Tammy (10/5): Fabulous - This is a fabulous place with wonderful hosts
- Marilyn (10/5): - Hosts were friendly and accommodating and provided great service.
- PAULA (10/5): Trip to NE - Loved this this place. We were greeted by owner and given a tour of property. He was friendly and informative. He then left us to enjoy the stay in private.
Our stay was perfect, comfortable bed. Room was spacious and decorated with such charm.
Good amenities, toiletries were plentiful.
Just make you are aware the the bathroom is shared by other guests . This did not present a problem for us.
I would recommend this place highly.
Nice area to explore thaw numerous little towns around them.
- alan (8/5): - The host was so accommodating, friendly but not overpowering.
- Kimberly (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay, I am sure we will be back again.
- meeta4 (10/5): A Lovely Stay! - It was a nice place to stay! They have a nice way of greeting you and being there enough for a guest to get to know the hosts, but you still have enough privacy to enjoy the beautiful place they have created. It also has a jacuzzi outback.
- Pamela (10/5): - Very nice and quiet.
- john (10/5): - Hosts were wonderful and friendly. The room was spacious and comfortable. The house was magnificent with a nice sitting area in the veranda. Two small suggestions: some yogurt for those who need a gluten free option; a box of kleenex in the room. Overall, a very good option in Dexter, Maine.
- Erik (10/5): - Great people, amazing house! Safe and secure.
- Lorraine (10/5): - This was my first stay at a B&B. Everything I read about staying in a Bed and Breakfast went right out the window as soon as I arrived. David an Tammy are perfect hosts. Their home is clean, quiet, beautifully decorated and so laid back. I was in the area to attend my grandson's wedding. They accommodated my coming and going and made me feel at ease. I took showers to fit my schedule and relaxed between events. Thank you both so very much.
- Brittany (10/5): - We stayed one night while visiting the area for a family gathering. David offered an early check in because our room was ready, which was very kind of him. He was very welcoming without feeling like we “needed” to check in early to accommodate his schedule. The home is very cozy. It is a shared bathroom set up, but we didn’t have any issues sharing and there was always a bathroom available when we needed it. The space is clean and quaint. We didn’t feel like we needed to “ask” for anything as it was all made available to us immediately- free bottles of water and snacks to purchase if we needed/wanted. He did mention a hot tub, but we didn’t use it. We’ll certainly book again.
- marie (10/5): - The welcome was very refreshing. I will recommend this place
- Megan (10/5): - We only stayed one night here, but absolutely loved it and would’ve stayed longer if we could. We were greeted as we pulled up and got a tour of the house. The rooms and bathroom were very clean. David gave us great recommendations for food and things to do! Also, the breakfast provided was excellent!
- Gabrielle (10/5): - We love coming to Taylor Edes! Anytime we have something going on in Newport, Old Town or Bangor we ALWAYS stay here. The owners are wonderful and accommodating and the property is beautiful. The rooms are always clean and comfortable.
- Nancy (10/5): - The property was well kept and interesting antiques throughout. The host, David was extremely friendly and very hospitable. Easy to share conversation with, and we thoroughly enjoyed pur stay. In fact, we are booking two nights in the beginning of October of this year because our experience was very positive and most enjoyable.
- Margaret (10/5): - Beautiful, clean Inn with a wonderful veranda and friendly, informative hosts. The area is beautiful and worth a trip to Greenville and the lake cruise. All of the recommendations were spot on.
- Jonathan (6/5): - Charming place and the proprietors are very friendly. Just be aware: there is one shared bathroom for all rooms. I heard the proprietor say to another resident (who was surprised at the situation) that the website clearly states that the rooms do not have private baths, but I didn't see that when I was looking for a place to stay and I've looked the site over since and can't find any such statement.
- Wayne (10/5): - The hosts (Dave & Terry) were fantastic. Very welcoming and made you feel right at home. This is truly a gem - you will not be disappointed with staying here.
Thank you for making my stay so pleasant!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - A nicely decorated historical inn. However, there was no private bathroom, as listed.
- Daniel (8/5): - Very clean and beautifully decorated. But there was no private bathroom as it is stated.
- Paul (10/5): - Enjoying our stay. Will definitely come back.
- JOHN (10/5): - Great B&B
- cblynne (10/5): Excellent stay - Our room.was the yellow room. We had a porch attached to the room. The house is well decorated and stylish. The breakfast is a continental style, bagels, coffee, pop tarts, etc. The bed was very comfortable as were the pillows. It was air conditioned and had a fan. Very friendly hosts living on the premises. The only drawback is a shared bathroom.
- Maleek (10/5): - The owners are so friendly and make you feel right at home
- Ivy (10/5): - The owners make you feel comfortable from the first second. It's like staying with family! I'd highly recommend them.
- Brenda (10/5): - Dave and Tammy are gracious hosts.
Beautiful Inn.Well kept and beautifully decorated.
- Joel (10/5): - Staff was ver accomodating
- Diane (10/5): - Dave and Tammy were absolutely outstanding hosts!
The Inn was very inviting, and felt like we were home.
Very clean, fresh linens, towels and bath robes daily. Snacks available at any time, and a great variety of breakfast options with fresh homemade muffins and scones.
Honestly I can't say enough about how impressed I was with our experience at the Inn.
- Beth (10/5): - I loved the porch and public areas in addition to the room. The host and hostess were welcoming and attentive.
- EDWARD (10/5): fantastic - Tammy and Dave where the best hosts ever, felt like we were at home
- Gabrielle (10/5): - We absolutely LOVE it here! We have already booked our getaway for next month. Wonderful place, wonderful hosts!
- Anton (10/5): - Very friendly family-owned inn, highly recommend!
- Jamie (10/5): - Really wonderful experience staying here. The level of service and the comfort is exceptional. Will definitely be back!
- David (8/5): - We loved the period decor. Everything is of excellent quality. A very comfortable atmosphere. The host was very friendly and helpful. We are used to having a hot breakfast meal served at the B&Bs we often stay at, but the cereal, breakfast sweets, and coffee were sufficient. We highly recommend Taylor Edes Inn to anyone visiting the Dexter area.
- HELGA (8/5): - Only the scent plug-in dispenser (s) were overwhelming.
- Rachael (10/5): - What a wonderful little gem I'm the area of Dexter. We were prepped for our stay by the innkeeper who checked in to inquire on any allergies we may have. The day of they checked in to inquire on our arrival time to ensure someone was there to greet us. Upon arrival we were given a lovely tour of the inn, were given suggestions for dinner and were asked if any additional needs to make sure we were comfy. The rooms are well appointed and immaculately clean. They have lovely robes and slippers for your stay and comfortable bedding. The breakfast in the morning was very nice and the conversation with the owners was fun. We would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice place to stay in the area. Thanks for the hospitality!
- Gabrielle (10/5): - Wonderful place! Wonderful hosts! Our only complaint was we only got to enjoy it for one night. We will be back again. :)
- Marsha (8/5): - Nice B & B in small town. Not much going on in town or any dining. Limited breakfast
- Trudi (8/5): - Host was personable and helpful. Inn is a very nice historic building. Dietary needs and other needs were accommodated.
- Caroline (10/5): - Friendly welcome, really great host
- Louise (10/5): - It was a beautiful place- very friendly host, helpful.
Very nice,clean, comfortable room.
- Suzanne (10/5): - Lovely bedroom and convenient for us. We enjoyed the screened porch attached to our room as well as the front porch.
- Karin (10/5): - Very clean and comfortable.
- Jeanni (8/5): - Lovely old mansion in north country Maine, with warmly hospitable hosts. Highly recommend the 'Yellow Room" as it includes a wonderful sunroom for sitting.
The only concern: one shared bathroom for up to 5 guest rooms (half bath downstairs also available). Expedia description specifies Private Bath for each room but that is incorrect. The bathroom was clean but obviously no place to store your toiletries or hand towel.
Bonus: Expedia also didn't mention there is a nice outdoor Hot Tub available for guests - very nice to relax in at the end of a long hike.
Breakfast is continental with breads and muffins, not a cooked breakfast. The hosts graciously supplied gf bagels.
We drove up to see moose, staying 2 nights and taking a tour with local experts. Sadly did not see any moose on this trip, but most people do!
- Tim (10/5): - Very clean, quiet. Dave was so accommodating! And very interesting! We will stay again should we meander this way!
- Brenda (10/5): - All three rooms that we booked were very nice It was a fun relaxing and beautiful house to stay in. The hosts were great people Felt very comfortable and relaxed. Wish we could have stayed longer. We will go again
- Adam (10/5): - Very friendly staff and lovely room. Would stay again
- Deborah (10/5): - This is a stunningly beautiful home inside, gorgeously decorated and with antiques galore. We stayed in the Grey Room on 8/15/22, and couldn’t be more pleased. It’s a very luxurious room, with the most comfortable bed we have ever slept on. There’s a shared bath, but it was always available when we needed it, and Tammy has thought of everything - robes, shampoo, dental floss, cotton balls, sanitary pads, makeup removing wipes, etc. The water was quite hot, just how I like it, and the water pressure was great. We were offered use of the hot tub out back but were too tired to take advantage of it. We’re early risers, but Tammy had breakfast items ready to go between 5 and 10 AM, so we helped ourselves while everyone slept. There’s bagels, cereal, juice, coffee, etc. but the best part was the homemade bread and muffins- they were scrumptious!! If this place was near Bar Harbor or Boston it’d seriously go for $350/night. It was a lovely experience, and a tremendous value for the price. Thank you for your warm and friendly welcome, David and Tammy.
- Cherilynn (10/5): - A really great first experience staying at an inn!
Beautiful, historic setting and super friendly owners who go the extra mile.
We stayed for two nights in the Grey Room and it was SO comfortable and cozy.
Thank you so much for our pleasant stay!
- Vicki (10/5): - Great hosts!! I will definitely stay at Taylor Edes again. The rooms were well appointed, clean and comfortable. If people are in this area they should definitely take advantage of their beautiful home and hospitality.
- Brittany (10/5): - The staff was absolutely amazing! They catered to everything with a smile and went above and beyond what they had to do. The building was extremely clean, tidy and was a joy to be in. If i could have prolonged my stay i would have done it in a heart beat. I cannot say enough good things about this place, when i come back to vacation in the area i will be staying here again. The most hospitable place to sleep in the area. 10/10 i recommend to anyone looking to stay in a well organized and phenomenally staffed inn
- donald (10/5): Great people - The owners are cool people. If we had more time, we would have liked to hang out on the balcony with them at night swapping stories and enjoying Maine. We will be a return customer.
- david (10/5): - Hospitality was great! Very warm and friendly staff. Very clean room.
- George (10/5): - Clean, friendly, comfortable , and safe. With a sense of Victorian charm, with all the comforts
- Christine (10/5): - Dave and Tammy were execllent❣️ Very friendly he carried my bag in from the car. Sat and chatted with us over coffee the next morning. Will deffinately stay again when passing through the US to Canada!!!
- Stephen (10/5): - The bed & breakfast was convenient for us visiting family in central Maine. The couple who run the B&B are very knowledgeable about the area and gave helpful advice regarding additional places to visit & eat.
- Renée (10/5): Cozy & small - My fiancé and I stayed here for a short weekend. The Inn is very nice! Cozy and small, it was the perfect place for us to stay in all weekend.
- Cheryl (10/5): - WHat’s not to like about a charming, comfortable place with helpful, friendly owners? I’ll stay there again if the opportunity arises. I’m from Maine with family in that area and wish I’d known about this inn sooner!
