- Helena (10/5): - Wunderbar, ein herrlicher Garten, alles ganz gut, sehr nette Gastgeber. Sehr zu empfehlen.
- Cindy (10/5): Stunning Lodge. Room, grounds & breakfast were exceptional - Everything. Omaka lodge is stunning. The grounds and pool area are beautifully kept and our room was beautifully decorated. Very comfy bed & lovely and clean. Scott & Chris are impeccable hosts, making you feel very welcome as soon as you walk in the door. The homemade preserves were delicious. N/a
- Colleen (10/5): A magical property - I highly recommend! - Wow! A magnificent property!! I highly recommend this property as a unique stay - whether you need to be in Taumarunui or not. It is definitely worth an addition to your NZ holiday. We had booked a Forgotten World Adventure and Omaka Lodge is only a 10/15 minute drive from the starting point in the town. It was beautiful from the moment we drove through the gates and up the long drive. The gardens and water feature reflect such care and imagination, they are a pleasure to walk around and relax in. Our accommodation itself was just magical - so luxuriously appointed and decorated. Our hosts, Chris and Scott and their two pups, were welcoming and friendly. There was an option for dinner (if pre-organised) and I would definitely take up this option if I was to stay again. The continental breakfast was superb, with home made muesli and granola as well as home baked bread and jams. Chris even got up early to make sure our breakfast was on the table by 6am as we had to be in town by 7am. This will be a highlight of our NZ holiday!!

- Wanda (10/5): Chris and Scott were very welcoming, nothing was to much trouble. Fresh flowers everywhere. - The breakfast was exceptional with home baked bread, cereal and homemade jams. There was nothing we didn't like
- John F (10/5): - The hosts, Chris and Scott, were gracious hosts so very proud of the Lodge. The Lodge is in a beautiful location and it is most elegantly (but tastefully) furnished. It is a gem. Absolutely nothing , wished we could have stayed longer
- Vinoth (10/5): Absolutely amazing 🤩 - Lovely hosts, Chris & Scott!!! Amazing property, hidden gem with stunning views. Very cute dogs🥰 Nothing
- philip (10/5): Stunning. We would return to NZ to stay here again. - A hidden gem in an idyllic location. Remarkable hosts, providing outstanding home sourced food, privacy, and a garden worth a visit in its own right.
- Yiyun (10/5): -
- Anthony (10/5): Great place to relax and take in the surroundings and enjoy. - The breakfast was incredible, the bread was baked on premise. The jams and conserves were hand maid from fruit from their orchard as was the preserved fruit. The granola and muesli was also hand made. The garden was intricate and made with love. My wife loved it, as with the swimming pool and tennis court!
- Tim (10/5): -
- Deepi (9/5): A tranquil home away from home - A beautiful peaceful B&B off the beaten path with the most welcoming hosts Scott and Chris. The lodge has storybook gardens, comfortable rooms (ours had little private patios and views of the gardens) and a real sense of place with thoughtful art and furniture. We were welcomed with tea and cake when we arrived, and breakfast featured homemade granolas and jams. The two black cocker spaniels dogs are so sweet and calm too. The bed was comfortable and we slept well! We were off to a day of caving so we would have loved a bigger breakfast with eggs.
- jane (9/5): Really enjoyed the experience and only wish we had more time to explore the property and gardens - Delicious homemade food
- Wilson (10/5): Fantastic all round excellence. - Loved everything about Omaka Lodge from the time the hosts greeted us on arrival till we left the next morning.
Beautiful home full of treasures & surrounded by an amazing garden. Most comfortable bed ever. Delicious continental breakfast with great selection of home made bread/spreads/cereals. The best of everything. Nothing could have been better.
- Kate (10/5): Wish we could have stayed longer. So lovely - Exceptional in every way. Wonderful hosts and such a beautiful lodge. Attention to detail, fabulous food and gorgeous surrounds.
- Mary (9/5): Loved it. Although the lodge is not all that old (1970s), it has a charming old-world effect on you. - Our hosts were very welcoming, very accommodating. The garden is well worth exploring. We loved the dogs (American Cocker spaniels); Katie and Grayson charmed the socks off us! In hindsight we wish we had booked in for a meal because our fellow guests seemed to be delighted. I think it was Chris who was the really good Chef, although Scot was involved too. Great hosts, both of them.
- Margaret (10/5): Lovely relaxing stay in a beautiful location - Loved the decor - cosy and old- English style. The two hosts Scott and Chris were very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was lovely - loads of preserves that were made on the property. The two dogs were just gorgeous
- Ddc (10/5): Like a Studio Ghibli dream come true - Our host, Chris and Scott, designed their home so beautifully and are so welcoming to everyone. Like European country deco on the high end side and with lotsa charming pieces. We had a mini united nation of guests. Everyone totally enjoyed ourselves when we set around dinner, not wanting to leave. We were total strangers before. Extremely enjoyable! The gardens were spectacular and so immaculate. I cant imagine the amount of work they put in. We also love Grayson and Katy (dogs) and Betz ( cat). Even they welcomed us with open arms.
- Barbara (10/5): Exceptional - We loved our stay at Omaka Lodge. Everything was done to perfection Nothing to comment on
- Angela (10/5): One of the best places we have ever stayed. - Stunning location amazing hosts fantastic homemade breakfast of preserves Jams and bread . Beautiful gardens a lovely rural oasis There is absolutely nothing not too like
- Angela (10/5): Beautiful garden and amazing hosts. - The garden was absolutely amazing. A beautiful house and the dogs were gorgeous. Comfortable bed, luxurious ensuite with everything you could want. An amazing blueberry slice on arrival. Very welcoming hosts.

They were the most Amazing hosts, the property was beautiful, the food was amazing, this is definitely one of the top places that we have ever stayed in, and next time we come through, we will without a doubt be staying here.
We were blown away by how good everything was, and we came away feel refreshed after a relaxing stay
- Isabella (9/5): Superb - Absolutely lovely!
- Michael (10/5): One of those places that one could stay in for a long time. Absolutely fantastic !! - Loved everything about our stay. Beautiful gardens, fantastic food, all the comforts one could wish for and both Chris and Scott were really friendly and delightful hosts, no to mention their cooking was out of this world. Nothing was too much hassle and we would have loved to extend our stay. Definitely would return there at some time in the future. Nothing at all that we didn't like. Even the pets were friendly.
- Yvonne (8/5): Thank you for your hospitality. We had a lovely time. - Such a warm welcome from Scott and Chris. Also the garden and the view from the garden. Not a very big room. When we removed the pillows, cushions and extra covers from the bed there wasn’t much room to move around.
- Louisa (10/5): Perfect hidden getaway! - Chris and Scott were amazing. We were greeted with a piece of self baked cake - which was delicious.
Our Suite was exactly as shown in the photos and we loved the style.
We only spend there one night as we were on our way to the south. We recommend a longer stay and letting them spoil you!
The breakfast was great, too. They served various cereal options with preserved fruits. They also made a lot of jam options.
10/10 would always come back
- Janet (10/5): Fabulous! - Everything! Great location, welcoming hosts, lovely room, incredible home-prepared breakfast, fabulous gardens Nothing!
- Germaine (10/5): Omaka Lodge is an unforgettable experience you will not want to miss - Upon arrival we were invited to a most lovely tea served on the sheltered outdoor area of our room surrounded by breathtaking gardens and scenery. The honor of meeting Scott's dear parents and visiting with the other kind guests were heartwarming. Our hosts Chris and Scott were outstanding, every detail had been considered. Their insights and recommendations for our continuing journey were exceptional.. The breakfast was delicious with a beautiful presentation. The dinners were fabulous. A morning mist added to the beauty of this unforgettable boutique Lodge. Our stay was perfect. There is nothing we would change. We wish you all the best in your future endeavors and hope that some day we may return. Until then, this is a wonderful unforgettable memory that continues to warm our hearts. Thank you for everything.
- Veronica (10/5): Beautiful Gardens, exquisite attention to detail with the interior design. Perfect Hosts who where generous in sharing t - The Gardens
- Rosemary (10/5): Glorious, we can't wait to return. Do not hesitate to stay here, you'll be so glad you did. - Omaka Lodge is outstanding. We can see why it is so well known and highly recommended by so many. The accommodation is 6 star, the location glorious, and the owners and hosts of Omaka Lodge are the best we have ever met in New Zealand. You could not be anything but overjoyed with staying here. In mid-winter, it was warm and cozy, beautifully warm, delicious breakfasts and welcoming afternoon tea with home baking. The wonderful owners could not have been more welcoming.
- Margaret (10/5): Exceptional - Omaka Lodge would be our dream of heaven. The tranquility, beautiful surroundings, and fantastic soft, comfortable pillows and bed. Our hosts, Chris and Scott, are exceptionally beautiful people. The time and effort given ensured we were treated like royalty enjoying the scrumptious homemade lemon muffins, bread jams, and desserts. Spring and summer will be a definite must for us to enjoy Chris and Scott's labour's of love in the gardens, pool, and tennis court. A deliciously designed interior with every comfort imagined. Our stay was exceptional. Thank you, Chris and Scott, for sharing your lovely home with us. The weather.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Very nice hosts - great place if you want a quiet , off the beaten track retreat - We were upgraded to the upstairs suite & this was great This location is approx 11 km from Taumaranui in the Country with no nearby facilities , the roads are icy in the winter
- Rhett (10/5): Paradise found. - It is hard to understate the attention to detail of this lodge. The gardens are spectacular as are the Taranaki hills that the property is nestled in. The decor is a fusion of antiques with modern touches. My apartment was upstairs and fully private with a huge double shower with skylight. The bed was somewhere underneath a mountain of cushions and quality linen. My hosts were such good company and the food was superb. I resisted the urge to pocket the Sterling silver spoons. This is what five star ratings are made for. My hosts Chris and Scott are currently adding a self contained cottage to their property with the same care and attention to detail that the main lodge exhibits. I would love to come back in Spring to see the bulbs in bloom. This is a highly recommended experience. More time!
- Mike (10/5): A splendid experience of a lifetime - The location, Property, Service and Breakfast was simply amazing. Host Chris and Scott were just exceptional. Very professional and vaue for money. A great place to unwind and get pampered. We liked everything
- Jonathan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Craig (9/5): Fantastic country lodge accommodation, thoroughly recommend - Chris and Scott were fantastic hosts, they couldn't do enough for us without being intrusive. The house is literally out of a Home & Country magazine and is immaculate. Delicious cake, tea and breakfast too!
- Kathryn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alan (10/5): our stay was perfect. Our accommodation had everything and above. - first class and beautiful accommodation. first class hosts n/a
- Elaine (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lindsay (10/5): Exceptional -
- Rami (10/5): Exceptional -
- Fernandez (10/5): Exceptional -
- Grant (10/5): Happy hosts and a peaceful restful stay in a luxurious lodge - Our stay felt personal as we were treated like family. We were greeted at the car park and welcomed then led through a beautiful garden to the house entrance where we shown the facilities and our room.
We were left to our own requirements, quiet reading time, trips to sights, great Thai restaurant meal then back to
the lodge. It was like coming back to a top class hotel. We opened a bottle of wine and asked the hosts to join us
and great conversation was had. A perfect and restful stay. Nothing . It was great.
- Genny (10/5): One of the highlights of our trip...just love our stay! - Wow...what a place!
