• Gillian (7/5): Nice hotel and bar/restaurant - The bar and restaurant were very nice. It is a traditional Yorkshire pub. The food was lovely in the restaurant and an average price. We had 2 large suitcases with us and our room was on the second floor. As there isn’t as lift in the building a member of staff carried them up the stairs for us. When we left at 4.30am we couldn’t carry the cases all the way down the steep stairs as we both have back problems, so we had to slide them down the stairs, trying not to wake everyone up! Maybe if you are in full health this is not a problem, but it was difficult for us.

• Piotr (7/5): - Personel, location, quiet area in spite of the airport in vicinty. It was pretty cold in the room when I arrived. Luckily there was a small heater to save the situation but it takes time to warm the room up. The water stream in the shower was pretty weak and not too warm either.

The room was also cold, with ineffective heating. There were maintenance issues (broken towel holder), and access involved multiple steep stairs which was not clearly communicated. Overall, I would not stay again.

• Marianne (1/5): Poor stay and poor customer service - The car park had a nice view Check-in was poorly managed. On arrival, the bar was full of a large group, and guests checking in had to wait while all bar customers were served first. There was no clear or separate check-in process. The room did not match the description. The “extra large double bed” was in fact a standard double (approximately 135cm). The pillows were also very flat and uncomfortable. The main issue was a broken skylight blind which would not close. This was reported, but staff were unable to fix it. We were told that there was nothing they could do for us, but they would be charging the last customer for the 'damage'. In reality it was probably just a cheap blind. As a result of the skylight being broken, the room could not be darkened and one guest did not sleep at all, while the other had a very poor night’s sleep. Despite raising this after the stay, the response was disappointing. A small partial refund was offered, which did not reflect the impact of the issue. We also contacted Booking.com, but they did not assist in resolving the matter and had more concerns over their partnership with the hotel. Overall, the stay did not meet basic expectations of a hotel, particularly in terms of comfort and sleep.

• elaine (7/5): Pleasant stay and very handy for LBA - Great location near LBA. Nice bar area with friendly and helpful staff. Good sized car park and lovely views over the cricket ground. The pillows were very hard (appreciate that is personal preference) and one of the “spare” pillows had a marked pillowcase. My husband had an excellent sleep as he likes hard pillows. Maybe hard and soft pillows could be provided so there is choice for future guests?

• Sarah (8/5): The Swan at Yeadon - Relaxed vibe upon checking in. No paperwork or ID needed. I was given my key and offered help with my suitcase. I stayed in the same room as my previous visit . Room was clean and there was everything I needed for my my short stay. I asked the bar maid if I needed to book a table for the evening meal and she casually said ,'No, you should be ok.' When I came downstairs 30 minutes later the bar was heaving and there was only one table left in the restaurant. Boking should have been advised. My meal of fish and chips was good although it was spoiled by the cold serving of mushy peas.

• Steph (6/5): Fantastic pub restaurant, but the room didn’t match the standard - We stayed for one night before an early flight and also dined in the pub restaurant with family. The restaurant was genuinely excellent and the highlight of our stay — the food was delicious, very good quality and great value for money. We would happily return just for the restaurant and would absolutely recommend it to others. Unfortunately, the room itself didn’t reflect the same standard. While the bed was clean and comfortable, the overall quality felt quite low for the £85 price. The bedside plug sockets were not straightforward to use and didn’t appear to work during our stay, which made charging devices difficult. The biggest issue was the shower. Although instructions were provided, the shower itself simply wasn’t fit for purpose. The water pressure was extremely low and the water remained cold, meaning we weren’t able to properly shower before leaving for our flight. This may be due to the room being on the very top floor, but in practice it wasn’t usable. It may be worth management personally checking the shower experience in that room to ensure it works properly for guests. There were also some smaller details that felt below what you might expect in a guest room at this price point, such as the very basic quality of the toilet paper. We contacted the hotel after our stay to give them the opportunity to look into the issues, but unfortunately the explanation provided didn’t really match the experience we had. It’s a shame because the restaurant experience was so good, and with some attention to the room facilities this could easily be a much better overall stay.

Nowhere to put your things down. Please change the terrible small cups for proper mugs.

• Elizabeth (9/5): A Perfect Pre-Flight Stay - This is the second time we've stayed here and it's perfectly located for the airport. With the bar downstairs, we were able to check in, relax and then go downstairs for dinner. There's plenty of parking and check out (at a very early hour) is simple.

Very close to the airport which is why we chose it. Simple checkout just chuck the keys in the lock box on your way out, just hope you haven't forgotten anything as you're never getting back into your room out of hours... Room was really cold, couldn't get any heating to work. No electric heaters provided. Pretty uncomfortable experience. Check in is a little strange as its not a hotel but rooms above a pub, have to approach bar staff who find the right person who has the keys who take you up to your room and that's it.
