We had an early start for the ferry for which the location was ideal. Although we were too early for breakfast, Brendan kindly made us sausage sandwiches to take with us. We were happy with the stay

The birdsong in the morning was so lovely - we were lucky to have great weather.
A special spot - perfect to explore Galloway!

Value for Money
- Denise (8/5): - Breakfast was lovely and the views from our room were beautiful.
- Bernard (10/5): A very nice B&B - The house is very well decorated. Well situated near the centre of Stranraer. The breakfast was very good. The room was large. What surprised me the most is how acomodating Brendan was for the time for breakfast. I asked from 7:30 and this was not problem despite the fact this was the day we changed the clock to the summer time.
- John (9/5): Ideal for what I was looking for. - Friendly, great room and shower. Excellent breakfast. I was quite cold overnight (it did say it felt like -4c overnight).
- Graham (9/5): Great value stay with welcoming hosts, in a top location on the beautiful Scottish coastline. - Brendan was incredibly welcoming and accommodating and took the time to show me to my room and explain the facilities. The guest house is in a great location, with nothing between the house and the waterfront but a very quiet, small, dead-end road. There's a lovely walk along the coast in either direction directly from the house (one taking you into the town centre about 10 mins walk, the other direction heads away from the town). The guest house has excellent off street parking right on-site, which felt very safe and I had no concerns at all leaving my motorcycle parked there. My room was warm, spacious and had everything I needed for a comfortable stay (the fresh milk for tea/coffee was a lovely touch, as were the Biscoff cookies!!). Brendan's cooked breakfast was delicious and I could not fault it at all. Just something to be aware of - there isn't a load of sound insulation between the rooms, so you do need to keep other guests in mind with noise levels. But apart from that small consideration, there's really nothing negative to report at all.

- Alexandra (10/5): 5 Star ratings all the way with an exceptional host in Brendan. - Brendan makes it a pleasure to return here and could not do enough for me. As a single traveller it’s nice to just feel relaxed and happy to find somewhere so welcoming. There are no downsides to staying at this property!
- Susyn (10/5): - Every thing.
Comfortable room ,beautiful location, we walked along the water and to town for dinner. Best breakfast and good coffee. We would have liked to stayed longer . Nothing
- Eilidh (10/5): -
- Nimisha (8/5): Beautiful location with a warm welcome to the area. - The location and welcome was a lovely start to our stay. You can hear other rooms ventilation fans going off and this sounded very loud when after midnight and before 6am. This disturbs our sleep. Had this not occurred, the stay and overall quality would be exceptional.
- Julie (10/5): - We were met with a lovely, warm welcome and offered tea/ coffee. This genuine welcome was perfect for the weary traveller. The very large room was very clean with everything we could need and more. Thoughtful touches like a book about Scottish history and dominoes were added too. The room was very tastefully decorated . The best thing for us was the wonderful sea view. Breakfast was served in a friendly, relaxed , professional manner. The food was plentiful and well cooked. The breakfast room too has a wonderful sea view. Would definitely recommend for travellers looking for great hospitality in a wonderful location. Nothing, for us everything was great and at a very reasonable price.
- Evelyn (9/5): Great. Would stay again. - Clean, cosy and friendly. Great breakfast and lovely location. Bathroom a little small.

Excellent value for money.
- Hannah (10/5): - Everything. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was also great. Nothing.
- Tim (9/5): Brendan was an excellent host and my stay was comfortable and excellent value for money. I would certainly stay there ag - Victorian property furnished in a traditional style but warm, spotlessly clean, everything worked shower, hot water, kettle in room.etc Would have liked a more attractive bedside light but that is a minor dislike
- Ann (10/5): Warming and welcoming B&B - Lovely outlook onto the loch and really welcoming hosts. Large and comfortable room. Breakfast good. Nothing
- tony (10/5): Excellent - We were in Stranraer for a football game. And the b&b was brilliant for all our needs Location facilities and the breakfast
- Martin (9/5): -
- Andrew (10/5): Great bnb by Loch Ryan. - The room was large with a fabulous view over Loch Ryan. Host Brendan was excellent and made us a brilliant breakfast. Parking at the premises was simple and it was just a 5 min walk to Stranraer town.
- Muir (10/5): Excellent - The room with en-suite bathroom was very large and comfortable with a big bed and great views over Loch Ryan. Brendan could not have been a more welcoming host and served an amazing breakfast. We really enjoyed our stay. Thanks to Brendan and his family.

The room was a good size, a wide range of beverages in the room. A very comfortable stay.

- Graham (9/5): -
- Evelyn (8/5): would certainly like to re-visit - Breakfast - just what I wanted!
Very friendly, helpful hosts
very peaceful throughout my stay.
Lovely spacious room and very comfortable bed
Super quiet location, and ample parking. Very happy to recommend Pity the shower room was so tiny.
- rosanna (9/5): Great break and rest . Will definitely be using this place again. - Comfortable and cosy , great view.
- Pauline (9/5): I would recommend Briar Brae to anyone. A fantastic quiet place to stay. - The location is gorgeous. Our room looked over Loch Ryan where we could see many different birds. The bed was very comfortable and we had a good nights sleep. We had everything we needed in our room, even down to playing cards and a sewing kit. This is not a complaint at all. I am sure if our stay had been longer, and if I had asked, Brendan would have provided plain yoghurt and a variety of nuts for breakfast. I didn't ask and this is just my personal preference.
- Chris (9/5): Welcoming and friendly - Brendan the owner was very welcoming and the view was amazing from the room. Nothing
- Gayle (9/5): If you’re looking for great accommodations go wrong with Briar Brae - Immaculately clean. Quiet location with beautiful views. Best breakfast ever! Brendan was very helpful with our luggage too. We can highly recommend this B&B. Nothing!
- James (10/5): Perfect for an overnight stay in Stranraer - A beautiful period house directly overlooking the water in Stranraer. The room was lovely. Attractively decorated but not (unlike many) over done. Large and very comfortable bed. Everything about the house was in keeping with it's period tradition except, thankfully, for the ensuite bathroom which was fully modern, but tastefully so. Brandon was welcoming and very helpful. Breakfast was everything that could be expected.
- Guest (10/5): Great hospitality. Comfortable accommodations. Excellent full Scottish breakfast - The location is perfect to watch the sunrise and to take an early morning or evening stroll. Very safe.

A wide choice was offered at breakfast and everything we had was delicious. Great views from the breakfast room.

- Margaret (10/5): - The host was superb, met us at the door, carried our case and was so welcoming. That we only had 1 night here 😂 There was absolutely nothing to dislike.
