Guest Reviews
- Joshua (8/5): - N/A
- Mamoon (10/5): - good hostel
only issue is beds are small
- Naomi (8/5): - This is a fantastic place to stay. Great price, cheap and cheerful with an awesome vibe.
- Nitin (6/5): - it's an ok property at this price in Jindabyne
- Andrey (4/5): - Plenty teenages staying, noisy, very small room, junk food breakfast
- Vijayendra (2/5): - Spring mattresses with zero comfort, noisy, no internet access was given, room and bathroom both were ver small. Customer service was zero.
Was booked for two nights, stayed only for one night and left. Specifications were all wrong on the website, so not trust at all.
- Keith (2/5): - The tv was NOT working, NO remote control, extremely noisy and the mattress was old and the springs in the bed were extremely hard and pretty tough on our backs.
- Wiesia (8/5): - Friendly atmosphere +
Luke warm shower water in am -
- kelley (4/5): - Very expensive, beds were horrible- laying directly on springs, cold shower.
- Leonard (6/5): - best price in town. clean and neat place,
randown areas at location. acceptable considering the price. not some where i would stay taking my wife but for the boys or kids who don’t care and just need a bed and shower. it’s fine.
- Peter (2/5): - Dirty room ,blood on towels , disinterested staff especially the sever at breakfast .
Only highlight was Sarah on Thursday night - a can do attitude.
- Michael (10/5): Fun times - Had a great time. Cheap but friendly staff and good breakfast
- Tom (2/5): - They say you get what you pay for, but that's not the case if you book the Snowy Mountains Hostel. The website advertises a public bar, bistro, and pool table, but none of those were available during our stay. They say there's an indoor pool but we couldn't find it. We would have asked reception where the pool was, but it wasn't manned, at all (the website said it would be). There was a sign at reception that said "call this number if there's no-one at reception" but no-one answered (well someone did eventually). The website says they have WIFI, and they do, but only in the sad, lonely unmanned reception area. The TV didn't work. The rooms were dirty and dated. The bed was uncomfortable and the linen looked dirty. There were only 2 power points, I had to unplug the heater to boil the kettle. Overall I can't express strongly enough how much I hated this hostel.
- Brett (4/5): - Our room located below dormitory rooms full of school kids. Lots of noise transfer into our room. It took 20minutes after turning shower on to get hot water,
- Diana (4/5): - The room is extremely small and inconvenient, however it was clean .
The breakfast was absolutely revolting . Event to think about it make me feel sick !!!!
- Madelin (4/5): - Pretty awful
- Farhan (2/5): - Terrible place to stay for the price. Haven't seen anything worse than this Australia. Rooms were most likely constructed in early 20th century and zero modernisation took place since then. There wasn't even a single chair or stool to sit on. So, basically you either have to be in your bed or stand up all the time. They didn't even bother to put 2 bottles of water. No kettle or tea bags, no toaster, no microwave and just nothing at all. You are basically paying for the bed only. Bathroom door was broken and waving in the air. No wifi and breakfast was terrible as well. Restaurant chairs were steel chairs which perhaps were cleaned month ago. At $350 per night I'd give it 0 rating if that was possible.
- Robert (6/5): - Location is excellent but, be warned this is more for backpackers or big grps with a low budget. Bunk bed/dorm rooms. Very old furnishings, obvious daily HK is not staffed. Dust in rooms. Breakfast is army mess style. Scrambled eggs (cold), bacon, tinned mushrooms. Food leftover is saved for the next day. They would survive if in a city, food hygiene is obvious. Service needs to improve, show care and a fresh continental breakfast cooked fresh would suffice. The bistro/whole centre is 70's decor needing a refresh. Suggest a refurb the owner needs to step it up. Lack of interest can be seen througout the venue and staffs demeanour. ONLY positive hot water for showers. Would not return again unless some changes occured.
- Paul (2/5): - I booked & paid for my accommodation on line,as instructed by the staff member I spoke to. Upon arrival,I was told my booking hadn’t come through from Wotif & they’re we’re not rooms available. I was basically told bad luck & try ringing some other properties in Jindabyne,to which I had no luck,& was left having to sleep in our car. I’m still yet to receive a refund & an apology, very disappointing.
- Taylor (8/5): - Staff were polite and helpful even though they were very busy. Room was clean and tidy and most importantly it was warm. This is budget accommodation that is close to the snow and gives families an affordable option to enjoy the snow.
- Sharon (4/5): - The sauna they advertised was out of order. The pool was cloudy and dirty with damaged board across the sauna. The room was terrible. The curtain was vroken on one window there wasn't a curtain on the other so the outside light ahone straight onto my pillow and kept me awake all night.
- Stephen (2/5): - Wow what a dive
It had dirty bottom sheets, no top sheets
Soon as we’re over 30 years old
The springs in the mattress were that bad I had to sleep on the doona to stop the springs digging into me
- Anesu (4/5): - Probably the worst customer service I've experienced. Check in was late & staff member just casually laughed it off. A guest was berated for asking for an extra piece of toast. Our television didn't work. The one dinner we ate from there was lukewarm when it came out and the dining room was cold and dark. We decided to leave a night early as our house was a couple of hours away & we had finished our snowplay early enough. I wouldn't go back there
- Kitsa (2/5): - Fridge , TV , lights did not work.Very cold and dirty
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Good
Like back packers ect
Everyone made an effort with what they have there
If you are looking for luxury you wont find it here
Yet luxury up there is like a thousand bucks a night
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Couldn’t check in
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Staff are incredibly rude. World worse to deal with again. Would not recommend.
- Joshua (8/5): Warm room. Close to perisher. Breakfast was good. - The room is old and bed was so hard. But you get what you paid for. You’re only there to sleep after a tiring day at the slopes. The room is warm but beds are not comfortable. The breakfast was good. Friendly staffs. And they had drying room for snow gears and that was good. Overall our stay was good. Still recommend this hotel.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - To be fair the accommodation is basic but is sufficient for people who just need a bed to sleep in and breakfast to start the day.
The rooms are basic without even a chair to sit on. The TV is of miniature size without remote so could not get it to work. The shared bathroom is a pain especially in the morning when all need to use the toilet. No WiFi.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - No hot water n room was dirty way over priced
- Verified traveler (2/5): - This was the second time I stayed in this facility and although it is not the best, it is ok to sleep. However, on Saturday I stayed for a night and the experience was horrible. There was an event in the facility which included a singer, this function did not ended until midnight and you could feel the artist was in the bedroom as the music was loud. Furthermore, as there was young people staying, there was a lot of noise, people having a party until passed midnight. Through covid times, I dont even understand how this is allowed. I could hear people introducing each other and having lots of alcohol. When we woke up in the morning all the drinking evidence was there. Also, once we were able to fall asleep, in the middle of the night, the fire alarm went off and almost were evacuated, propably the people staying were smoking in the rooms or pressing the alarm for fun, who knows.
In conclusion, if you are looking to relax after a day of skiing and you are planning to stay during the weekend, I would definitely NOT recommend this place.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Requested a double bed, received no reply. Bedroom Doors can’t lock from the outside so didn’t feel my property was secure.
- Verified traveler (2/5): What disaster - We booked a Double Room with a Proivate Bathroom and received a small room with two single beds and shared bathroom facilities! Not very COVID safe
- Chris (2/5): - Was told that we would get a double bed for my partner and myself ended up getting 6 bunk beds with out notice at 4pm had to organising another hotel last minute without and refund out of pocket $358 no voucher offered ether very disappointed as it was my birthday at the time never again
- Nat (2/5): - It is not a hotel it is a old run down hostel! The rooms are dated and not comfortably at all!! They advertised a bar, restrant, there was no staff for the bar on the Friday, and we were refused the menue on the Saturdays as we were (self drive) coustomers! There was bus tour coustomers eating but we were told we could wate and see if there was left overs we could buy!. The staff were not helpful just rude blaming there incompetence on the covid 19 virus! This place is a sham
- Louise (8/5): Views of the lake and value for money - Great views of the lake. Value for money
- Michael (10/5): Value for money - Room basic bit better than expected. Great value for money, Will definitely stay again
- Verified traveler (8/5): It is ok! - With cheapest price, everything is fair enough.
- Shiva (4/5): Plenty of better places - No staff around during check in hours. Unclean and not maintained well. "Breakfast" was cereal lying outside for atleast 24+ hours and some milk.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Tiny rooms. Horrible beds. Shared amenities were clean but of a poor standard
- Bronwyn (4/5): - Staff weren’t all that friendly, meals were horrible, no top sheets for the beds, no face washers or hand towels, no jug or tea & coffee making facilities, mini fridge so iced up we couldn’t shut the door on arrival...Cigarette butts & debris littered our entrance to our room, vacuum cleaner & used towels dumped under carport parking area...
Undesirable & inconsiderate locals & guests making noise until the late hours...
At least the room was warm & the shower hot...but would only stay there again if I was desperate...
- oscar (6/5): is not very big - Five people in small tiniest room, one night was enough; any longer would of struggled. Free break fast was awesome!
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Shared toilet but not stated in the ads, not a single table in the room, light not bright enough, half falling off curtain, supposed to be hot but cold breakfast
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Room was smaller than expected and as seen in photos. Bathroom was not very clean, however had all the basic needs for a winter snow stay.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - The room was not clean, with stains on the sheets and the carpet had not been vacuumed. Dirt stains on the walls and cobwebs on the ceiling. The room was tiny, which had 2 single beds and a bunk squished into it. Very disappointing accommodation.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - We didn't get the room we booked. A family of four were placed in a dog box 3m x 2m with a shared bathroom. We were scared during the night. It was horrible! We left as soon as it was light along with many other families.
- Dominic (4/5): Budget stay - Noisy roomers, late entry early hours very inconsiderate students.
Staff were helpful and friendly.
Bathroom door not able to be closed or locked in a communal area - not good.
Warm and cosy but not spacious.
No kitchen or fridge access - not good for families.
Great hot cooked breakfast each day a bonus.
