- Karine (10/5): -
- Carole (9/5): Excellent location and value!! - The location was exceptional! We loved our large balcony! The garden and grounds were very well kept. The owner and son were the extremely kind, helpful and caring! On silent day, their holiday where you are not allowed out in the streets, they were kind enough to serve us two meals which were not expected nor part of the reservation. This was very generous of them. A beautiful demonstration of the lovely balinese people! ❤️Would definitely recommend! When we arrived, we were given a ground floor facing another building. I was not confortable with this arrangement being too close to nature/insects. The owner, however, did not hesitate one minute to give us an upper room with a balcony! 🙏
- Kristine (10/5): An authentic, centralised homestay style accommodation | A quiet sanctuary in the heart of Ubud. - A wonderful location, easy access to restaurants, shops and walkable distance to Monkey Forest.
A peaceful base to be able to return to in the heat, for a rest up during the day.
Lovely simple, clean rooms - beds made up daily - fan only upstairs definitely my pick in preference to air con.
Thankyou Ria - we will return.
- Michael (10/5): - It's a lovely place with a great family host.
Very central but quite. That I have to leave

- Philip (9/5): What a little gem of a place - The location is brilliant. A beautiful, peaceful oasis in the heard of Ubud within walking distance of everything. Rai and her family were great! So friendly and helpful.
- Min (1/5): Very uncomfortable experience compared to the rest of homesatays - Location is good and air con works well. The room was filthy, with big ants everywhere and a bad smell throughout. The bed wasn’t clean or comfortable, and there was no hot water. Around 25 family members sit around staring every time you walk in or out, which feels intrusive and rude. The whole place is completely overpriced for what you get. There are far better and cheaper options nearby. Easily one of the most uncomfortable stays I’ve had.

- Louise (10/5): Great location, serene environment in lovely Ubud.would def stay again - Excellent central location but very quiet. Serene feel. Lovely host
- Fiona (10/5): Lovely little central retreat without the noise - Beautiful host - Rai - who was so helpful. The property is in the Ubud CBD but behind another house so there is no road noise. Beautiful garden. Really reasonable prices. Decent wifi. Maybe include a kettle for tea/coffee in the morning, but that’s about it.
- Jonathan (10/5): Great experience and would definitely stay there again - Everything really! Great location in the very centre of Ubud. But it’s set back from the street down a narrow alley so it’s still very quiet. Stayed in one of the upstairs rooms, no air conditioner but I didn’t need one as the room has a traditional high ceiling with a fan and you can open all the windows and get a breeze. I also liked the traditional style room with carved wooden doors and windows. The family who run the homestay are really pleasant as well, very chill and happy to chat. Nothing for me personally
- Julie (10/5): Extraordinaire !
- Andrzej (8/5): - Batik classes at site. Very nice staff. Great location.
- Deborah (10/5): Beautiful and Great Location - The property is very traditional and quite beautiful. Gorgeous flowers and gardens surround the rooms. The family that owns the pension are delightful. Thank you Ria for your friendship and kindness!
- Sandro (10/5): -
- Roberta (8/5): -
- Wellings (8/5): A lovely family to stay with - I stayed for a week as I was unwell when I arrived the staff were wonderful. I loved the location I stayed in one of the first floor rooms for 3 days and then a ground floor room . I preferred the upper floor as it was more private and had a lot more light
- Wellings (8/5): The family who run this homestay are very welcoming. I felt very at home here. - I stayed a few days in one of the 1st floor rooms with its own balcony. It was really lovely and quiet. The pension is situated right in the centre and within walking distance of most things. The ground floor rooms were rather dark and not so private
- Gillian (10/5): Exceptional - Excellent clean peaceful family accommodation. Friendly caring staff always interested in where we were going each day, made great suggestions of less touristy places to visit Cold showers but got accustomed to these quiet a refeshing way to start the day.
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional - Everything! Everything was perfect for me!
- Robert (10/5): Look nowhere else!! Make this your place to stay! - Everything!
Beautiful property! Great room. Centrally located! Onsite scooter parking! Excellent waterpressure! Beautiful artwork! Authentic Balinese architecture! Beautiful temples! Onsite Batik and offering classes! Super-clean! Most warm welcoming English speaking hosts! Happiest old doggy who loves cuddles! Quiet location! Super comfortable bed! Right on main restaurant attractions! A true oasis in the heart of the amazing Ubud! My home-away-from-home for all future visits for sure! Everything was perfect for me!
- Robert (10/5): Nirvana indeed! My home away from home for all future trips for sure! - The name says it all: Nirvana indeed! Centrally located in the heart of all the things you came here to do in Ubud, This amazing homestay has everything you need for a great vacation! The property is absolutely gorgeous with beautiful gardens, authentic Balinese art and architecture adorning the rooms. English is not a problem.and the family is warm and welcoming, friendly and helpful. The place is super-clean. The location is exactly where you want to be. Very quiet at night with no traffic noise. Bathroom is wonderful. Great waterpressure. This property is well maintained and has some on site scooter parking which is a huge bonus otherwise your have to park your scooter in the field in the centre of town overnight. Best value accommodation in central Ubud perfect in every way. I will be making this my home away from home every time I come to Ubud for sure. Very beautiful homestay and most wonderful experience indeed! Everything is perfect but if you are elderly or have bad knees perhaps a ground floor unit would be easier for you as the stairs going to the balcony room might be challenging for you but if not the balcony room is highly recommended. I loved lying in my bed gazing over the rooftops watching the sunrise listening to all the wonderful birds singing.Simply heaven.
- J (10/5): Exceptional - We had a lovely stay at this hotel. The location is very convenient, making it easy to get around. The staff were incredibly nice, accommodating, and always ready to help. They were easy to talk to, which made our experience even more enjoyable. Overall, a great place to stay, and we would definitely come back! nothing
- Vadim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Viktoria (10/5): Spiritu - The aura and atmosphere are spectacular, very authentic place and quite. Additionally, the hosts are amazing with very rich inspiration and positive energy, it's very spiritual place.
You could also attend host's store with outstanding goods and veils, sessions on drawing on batik etc.
I spent only one night, but it is still my favorite place in Ubud! Nothing
- Chris (10/5): Heaven on earth with great people taking care of you! - In the heart of Ubud, peace and quiet, traditional home. Nothing worth mentioning.
- Sudeera (10/5): Amazing :) - The host was amazing and friendly.
- Vamshi (8/5): Very good -
- Zheng (6/5): it's a ok place. I will not come back to Bali. - people are nice. surrounding is nicely landscaped. no breakfast. location is not convenience. Ubud town is not good for vacation.
- Chung (10/5): Perfect. - Beautiful property. Very friend staff. Fantastic location. Great value for money!
- Campbell (8/5): Excellent value for money. Beautifully decorated and well maintained. - Off an interesting mostly pedestrianised street in the middle of Ubud and then down a small lane, it was very quiet and tranquil but also convenient to shops, restaurants and the markets. I would have preferred if breakfast was served.
- Nyee (6/5): Pleasant - great location, just need to walk out for about 2 mins and you in the heart of ubud.
- Ian (8/5): Very satisfactory - Authentic family Nothing
- Alberto (8/5): Very good -
- Francis (10/5): If you’re looking for somewhere walking distance to monkeys forest and restaurants, whilst being comfortable… stay here. - It was lush and green, trees and atmosphere were really great. The property is in one of the main streets, but tucked away behind the shops, it’s quiet as can be. The rooms are great, Indonesian styled buildings, it’s beautiful. The owner Rie is a delight to chat with and made the stay welcoming and comfortable. 😍 I didn’t like to leave. I’m sure anyone can bitch, moan and find faults in anywhere you pay to stay. I’m happy to say, I’m not one of those folks 😁✨
- Anonymous (8/5): Hidden Ubud gem - Traditional homestay run by a beautiful family. No aircon but cool surroundings as a result of brick build and lush gardens. Fan in room. Located in the heart of Ubud just off the main walking street. Everything on your doorstep.
- Peter (9/5): very enjoyable and memorable. - A lovely family, and wonderful atmospheric home with Hindu elements ,the room was full of character, and an amazing roof above the bed.
- Jesse (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniele (9/5): Perfect for budget central accommodation - Super central, clean, quiet, nice owner, reasonable price Shower often cold
- Anna (7/5): Good - The hosts are just lovely and the location is amazing as in the heart of Ubud but well set back from the road and so quiet at nights. We booked 4 units, 2 with air-conditioning and 2 without. The ones without are actually the nicer units in terms of roof, layout and bathroom. Beautiful ornate carving on the doors and cool porches. The room I was in had a bad urine smell and the bathroom was very dated. This was a superios room. The standard rooms didnt have this. The shower was in the middle between the sink and toilet but raised from the toilet area and the water didn't drain properly so it meant it was quite slippery post shower. If the bathrooms were upgraded this place would be a 10/10
- Fabio (9/5): Very mistic experience in a very peaciful place - The structure is very nice , beautiful and particular in a very great position . I didn’t like the air conditioning. There was just the fan . Privacy is not ideal and you can hear others
- Nina (9/5): The perfect place to get acclimated to Bali :) - The warm welcome, the peaceful setting, the hot shower.
We loved our stay here, so much that we had to extend it and we can’t wait to go there again.
Rai and all the staff were just so lovely and welcoming. You can really feel part of the family.
The location is also perfect : right in the center yet quiet and peaceful. It’s next to a pedestrian street with amazing shops and restaurants, and you can walk to the major places from there.
- Saša (10/5): Exceptional - Very good location and kind stuff.
- Liu (10/5): Local and beautiful. - A perfect location. It’s close to Main Street but in a very quiet yard. Walking distance to nearby famous spots. And Price is pleasant. Staffs are friendly and very nice. A wet smelling in room. Especially first floor. But it’s fine cuz anyway I wasn’t expecting too much according to the price.
- Harry (5/5): Passable - A good location and friendly staff the room was not very clean, the bathroom was dirty, there was no toilet shower, the hot water didn't function normally, I had to shower in the bathroom of another room, the room lights were dim, entry was through a narrow alley, the car was parked on the road, about 40 meters from the inn. I ordered a room for 2 days, but I only used 1 day and checked out.
- Tobin (9/5): Lovely hosts and ideal location - There are lots of positives about this good-value stay. The location was perfect for us, set back in a quiet area but down an alleyway from a lively street with so many affordable restaurant choices, tour kiosks, and shops. The family who runs the guesthouse are so lovely, friendly, and helpful. Our kids loved the family dog, Kimmy, who was calm and sweet and liked pats. The rooms had lovely touches like beautiful doorways and Balinese paintings in the room. The grounds were full of plants, birds, and was a peaceful place. Breakfast was included with one room and was a great way to start the day with fruit, toast, eggs, and coffee/tea. We had two rooms, a standard double with fan, and a triple with fan. The fan was sufficient to keep the room cool at night and we slept comfortably. Both rooms had a comfortable balcony or porch which was where we got the best WIFI signal and therefore spent most of our down time. Housekeeping was provided on request. There was no soundproofing between the standard double and the double next door, so we heard every time a guest cleared his throat or got a phone notification. He certainly could hear us, too, so we found ourselves tiptoeing around in our room, rather than moving freely. The triple room was at ground level beside a stream, and was a bit musty, dark, and damp. Both washrooms were simple and dated but what we expected from a budget option.
- Tushar (10/5): Exceptional -
- Wouter (7/5): Pretty decent - The room upstairs was very good. The room downstairs I didn’t like so much.
- Robert (8/5): Peaceful, clean and rustic with so much restaurant choices nearby. Would recommend. - Great location, short walk to the main road, restaurants, museum and markets. The place was still set back enough from the road thus was peaceful at night. Rooms were cosy, rustic and clean. Only thing was the rooms did not have air conditioning, but the ceiling fan did well to cool down the room during the day and at night.
- Virginia (10/5): Best value small boutique hotel in the region - Everything: the wonderful family, location near the main street but very very quiet, the garden, the décor. Best value for money we have been in 9 months around Asia. They call themselves pension but in fact is a good value boutique small hotel. Nothing.
- Talgat (6/5): Pleasant -
- Gledys (8/5): Very good option for a typical Balinese home experience -
- Mohd (9/5): Superb - The helpful staff, the location and Kimmy. We didn't like the day we had to leave Nirvana Pension for the airport to fly back home.
- Ruta (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing family! very good location! very nice room! I will come back!
- Enes (7/5): Good - Centre in ubud No air conditioner
- Elina (10/5): Exceptional - Artsy beautiful place with family atmosphere. I went there because of their batik workshop but would recommend Nirvana Pension also to people who dont want to paint batik.
- Thái (9/5): Comfortable and hospitable. - Light and delicate A mosquito in my room.
- Florian (8/5): Very good -
- Upasna (9/5): Superb - Location homelyness Bathroom
- Stephen (9/5): Superb -
- Parvin (8/5): Overall it was good - Good I didn’t like bed sheets, I prefer them being white and fresh
- Frances (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anonymous (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (8/5): Very good - Great location in the centre of Ubud so easy to walk everywhere but very quiet as the accommodation is set back from the road down an alley. The road is also closed to cars at night so mainly pedestrians using it which is great.
Managed to leave my e-reader in the room when I checked out but the owners held onto it until another family member collected it a month later! Very grateful to them. All good, would stay here again if visiting Ubud
- Thomas (10/5): Central and great decor - Really cool decor, really made for an interesting and homely stay. Friendly staff and great dog! Really close to everything in town.
- Beanz2023 (8/5): Very good - Tucked off main street, nice and peaceful. Lovely authentic Bali style rooms.
- Manjit (6/5): Pleasant -
- Kahraman (4/5): I dont recommend - Location and staff Room is sooo old! No air condition! And hard to sleep because of cock noise in the morning
- Derek (10/5): Exceptional -
- Mohd (8/5): Very good -
- Juriah (4/5): Apart from the location, all else could be improved. - Location is great. Eating places were just 2 mins away. The bathroom has live worms crawling on it everyday even after I got rid of them.
Hot water supply was temperamental.
The pillow cases smell bad.
No table to place items on apart from the 1 small bedside table.
As we got rooms at the basement, there was no sun spot to dry out clothes.
- Srqjim (7/5): Too hot for no air conditioning - Very ethnic design, felt like Indonesia. The location was excellent for walking around. Quiet environment. No air conditioning. Thin walls, We heard the people in the next room easily, there was constant noise from a pump outside the window.
- Polona (9/5): Superb - Nice place in central location in Ubud. Rooms are clean, with AC and Nice terraces. No meals, which is not a problem since there are many restaurants just nearby . You can Use their fridge. Quite a lot of inscets.
- Affiz (8/5): Very good -
- Paola (9/5): Superb -
- Manjusha (6/5): Pleasant - This place is in the centre of the market, so very convenient!!!
Staff is very good
- Karensa (9/5): Superb - Such a peaceful oasis in a great location. Rai the owner is absolutely lovely. This was a last minute booking for me and I landed on gold!
- Joseph (9/5): perfect - Great location in the centre of ubud and you could walk to some locations. Room was clean and staff were so friendly and helpful. Beside cafes and restaurants and the area had a great vibe. Rented motorbike from next day as recommended by staff and it was great. Bathroom had a funny smell and roof was leaking the second last day of our stay
- Dessy (8/5): Very good -
- Camilo (8/5): Excellent location but with little issues. - It has an excellent location. The staff is so helpful and kindly. There was two little mouse on the roof in one night, but the next morning the staff solve that situation. Wifi has a weak signal at nights.
- Eric (8/5): In the heart of Ubud ♥️ - Nirvana Pension is located in the strategic location which is right in the heart of Ubud. We were welcomed by the lovely lady and she was very kind and helpful. There was a cute dog as well! The interior can do with a bit of upgrade. A better bed with nice linen. The exterior is beautiful but does not match with the interior design. I'm sure the establishment can change this.
- Bj (8/5): A wonderful home away from home. - This is a home stay to dream of. Simple yet comfortable, a green haven in busy downtown Ubud. The staff is a family operation. We loved the lanlady and her dog. A true home away from home. We had two rooms. Room 1 was heaven!! Silent mornings, batik lessons, artwork and a very nice library - you’ll find it at Nirvana! Room 7 has a very awkward bathroom without adequate ventilation. The musty smell isn’t nice.
- Lydia (1/5): under expectation - I just stay for 1 night there
- Andhika (7/5): Good -
- Pooja (7/5): Good - The place was alright, rooms were tiny. No air conditioning so it got very hot, the fan was not enough.
Outside the room the property is nice and green.
- Paula (7/5): Good - Location, very central to the heart of Ubud
Private hideaway from hustle & bustle, yet so close to it
Breakfast included
Very good value for money The rooster!! We didn’t sleep well due to rooster crowing at 2am and from 5am onwards
Pillow was uncomfortable and had to ditch it to try and sleep
- Dannie (10/5): Great traditional little place - Location is great, right in the heart of Ubud, but down an alleyway so you are back from any noise and hustle and bustle. It's very peaceful and there is a little temple there too. We loved this place for its central location so that we could walk anywhere.
You get your own little private space with your own terrace outside. Loved the decor of the place which gave it a more traditional feel.
The family were lovely and the lady was very sweet and kind and happy to chat with people. She was a genuine and warm person.
- Hayley (10/5): would recommend - Nice room and really comfy bed. large bathroom with shower that always had hot water which was a plus as it was raining and cold during our stay. really helpful and nice staff. good location also nothing
- Karim (8/5): Great location in Ubud - Superb location - 2 mins from the main amenities but in a quiet secluded compound. Very helpful staff.
- Bensedrine (10/5): Would totally come back and tell my friends and family about it! - Everything, a real Balinese experience. Space is good and owners and staff are super amazing!!! Totally recommend!!!
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful pension right in the middle of Ubud. Truly great location. The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful and always greet you with a smile.
Nice room for a great price. Highly recommended All good
- Zeynep (8/5): Very good - It transformed from local house, so its really giving traditional and nice feeling. Location is perfect center of Ubud, its close to everywhere. Price is really suitable too. Cleaning could be better.
