• Theresa (9/5): We had a great stay! - Its location next to the Accademia Bridge is outstanding! The access codes to get in the doors worked out perfectly. The floors are uneven, so if you have problems walking, you need to be careful. But the building is historic, so that is understandable.

• Veerle (9/5): Great authentic place, friendly hosts, toplocation very close to Accademia (vaporetto) - My stay at Hotel Galleria made my visit to Venice even more magical. The hotel sits in an authentic (yet small) palazzo and features interior decoration elements which makes you feel you are in a historical place. As I arrived in the afternoon, the entrance to the hotel came with doorcodes, but this was not a problem at all. The next morning, I met one of the hosts, and we had a great conversation about Venice and tourism. I will definitely come back to this place! Well, they don't serve breakfast here, but just around the corner, there's Da Gino, and the cappucino and the croissant there were just great. Sipping my coffee amongst regulars who quickly drank their ristretto and dashed away to their daily job, felt as if I was part of it all. Not just a tourist... Okay, okay, one small minor thing: the walls in the hotel are thin, which means sometimes you hear your neighbours talk, but at night Venice (and the hotel) was soooo quiet. I loved being near Accademia, where I took the vaporetta on my daily ventures.

• Alan (5/5): Poor sleep but great location. - Fantastic location by the Academia Bridge and Vaporetti piers. Easy walk from here to almost anywhere and good bars and restaurants in the less bust Dorsodoro area of Venice. We'd booked a 'small' room but I didn't think I'd be able to touch both walls with outstretched armsI This meant an awkward step by the bed to the window which had a great view of the canal. The mattress was very uncomfortable, almost 'u' shaped so we rolled into each other. Walls were paper thin so we could hear neighbours snoring and noisy guests in the creaky corridor who were then talking and laughing at 4am. There's no-one to speak to either as there's no representative at the hotel at night. We didn't sleep much...!

• Shannon (10/5): Brilliant budget accommodation right on the Grand Canal - I have passed by this hotel for years but never stayed there until this month. I do not know what took me so long! It is a very nice hotel in a truly remarkable location. And the price - well let's just say you do not often find hotels in this area for such a reasonable price. As a solo traveler I really appreciate this. My room was clean, comfortable and even though overlooking the busy Accademia bridge, extremely quiet with the windows closed. I was allowed to check in a bit early which I also appreciated - communication with the owners was really fantastic, better than any other Venice hotel I have stayed in, to be honest. I do not believe one can go wrong with this hotel as long as they keep their expectations in check - this is a one star hotel, so there is no elevator and also, no air conditioning which will be an issue for some in the hotter months. They do have ceiling fans in the rooms. I would absolutely stay here again. There are some great places to eat and drink very close by - check out Gia Schiavi for a glass of wine and cicchetti, and Taverna San Trovaso - both are institutions. Everything was great but next time I will pay a bit extra to get a room with a canal view!

• Ruth (8/5): This is a simple hotel in a wonderful location. - The location was a great find as the hotel is right on the Grand Canal, by the Ponte dell'Accademia. The view from the room was stunning. The hotel is simple but clean and well heated. There was a kettle, with tea and coffee, but this is not a hotel for anyone who wants extra comforts. For example, there is no TV but who is in the room watching TV when you are in the centre of Venice? N/A

Bit far from expensive area, you can enjoy bit cheaper restaurants and shops. View from the window is amazing. Old style original small things. Very small size, not comfortable materace and not comfortable pillows, not comfortable chairs(2 hard chairs), no hugs and no place for any stuff. Tiny walls you can hear neighbors and people in corridor like in you room.

• julia (10/5): Very nice! - The location was lovely. A 35 minute walk from the grand canal but so much to see along the way we didn’t care! So much to see and this location was quiet and had a beautiful view. We got a free upgrade from no view of the canal to the most beautiful view of the academia bridge. The walls were very thin and we heard everything from our neighbours.

The location is unbeatable – you can easily walk everywhere, whether it’s sights, restaurants, or the vaporetto stops. The owners and staff are incredibly kind and welcoming – truly wonderful people who make you feel at home. My room was cleaned every day, and you can really tell they put their heart into everything they do. In short: everything was perfect, I’m very, very, very satisfied, and I’ll definitely come back! Highly recommended – a real gem in the heart of Venice! 🌟

It’s very close to the Academia water taxi stand it’s just 23 minutes ride from the station. View of the grand canal and academia bridge is so beautiful. The boats, the gondolas, the water taxis, the seagulls, the little egrets catching fishes all those beautiful scenes from the room. Nothing comes to my mind

Room and installations were clean. The owners were very nice and friendly. Negative - Our room (Room 7) was very very very tiny. The size of the room was like 2 meter wide by 5 meters long and the bed occupied most of the width of the room, you could barely walk inside the room.

The staff were very friendly and attentive. The room was cozy but rather compact, and we could occasionally hear sounds from the next room

The manager Luciano is one of the nicest and helpful people we’ve met on our long trip. The hotel is beautifully restored and located right on the canal. Couldn’t have asked for a better Venice experience.

Even spent the morning watching Emily in Paris being filmed on the other side of the canal. Great location and great staff. I look forward to my next stay. Nothing
• Elisabeth (8/5): Excellent séjour, personnel très sympathique. - Bien situé, facilement accessible. Comunications faciles et réponses rapides. Nous avions une chambre donnant sur la place, au-dessus d’un bar. C’est donc bruyant si on veut ouvrir la fenêtre et un peu étouffant celle-ci fermée. La salle de bain (commune) est à plusieurs portes de distance. Je reviendrai volontiers à cet établissement mais prendrai une des chambres avec salle de bain et donnant sur le canal.
