Janet (10/5): - A wonderful stay in a lovely town. Friendly staff and everything in the room was what we needed. Room good and large. The breakfast was big and hearty and the evening meal was supurb. Best fish & chips for a long time, fish so fresh. The Server was quick and friendly, place quite busy, but he never stopped. Excellent, think he was called Sam? (Ate at 7pm 17/6). We like your (road) cobbles.

James (8/5): We had a nice time. - Nice clean hotel, unfortunately we had too many stairs to climb, we are both pensioners, not the hotel's fault we should have checked. TV was poor can't understand how they had SKY downstairs but not upstairs. The breakfast lounge and the food on offer was 5*

Elizabeth (6/5): - The room and bathroom were both very clean. The decor was very muted and beige/ brown. The bed was comfortable. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would stay again if I needed to be in Kelso.
Deb (10/5): Great stay. - We had a great stay. Even though we were on the first floor we didn't hear a lot of noise from the bar. The breakfast was excellent with a great choice. Only downside was the service was slow and the food was Lukewarm when arrived. But plenty of choice.

Stephen (10/5): Great place to stay or just have a beer - Great place to stay or just have a beer. We only stayed one night, but would have no problem in staying longer next time. Started the next morning with a freshly cooked breakfast which was excellent.
David (10/5): - only stayed/booked for 2 nights . apart from room ( 5 ) being a little dark needing lights on all the time, it was a comfortable, pleasant stay. the foodELSO i had was excellent in my opinion and very hot. if in future i need to stay in Kelso , this will be the first place I ring.

Katharine (8/5): Lovely - Lovely pub with rooms, and I had a super big room with a bath and huge bed! Easy check in, lovely staff. Enjoyed dinner, lots of choice. Again, great choice at breakfast but service at breakfast let it down - young lad who didn’t appear to be interested in the residents at all. I’d not let it put me off staying again.

Andrew (10/5): - Nice, spacious room with everything you could possibly need and more. Great breakfast with lots of nice choices. Conveniently close to the bus stop from Berwick-Upon-Tweed. The only slight downside was that the pub patrons were noisy outside on the Saturday night.

Verified traveler (8/5): An OK hotel - The hotel was adequate, Clean, friendly and reasonably comfortable. A rubber mat in the shower would have been good as I found it difficult not to slip. and the food was good but more attention to quality rather than quantity is needed.

The room was well appointed and very comfortable. The hotel was very clean. The breakfast was substantial and delicious. Dinner in the bar was very noisy but the staff obliged me moving to a quieter table.

louise (10/5): Perfect hotel Getaway - Absolutely wonderful hotel, nipping clean and the staff are so kind. Amy at breakfast was just great couldn't do enough for us. Food is delicious and always piping hot. The bedroom was comfy and super clean. Nice hot shower too.
William (10/5): One Night Stop - One night stay during short break and found everything about this hotel to be first class. From check in to check out the staff were so friendly and could not do enough to make your stay pleasant and memorable which it certainly was.
Eva (10/5): - The hotel is located centrally. Being an older property, the staircase is windy and steep. May not be suitable for persons with difficulty ascending stairs (no lift). Our room was located in the attic. When we arrived, we were disappointed because the heating was not on (3 degrees outside) and when they put on the heating it did not work. It took a while to sort out because the waitress from the bar was dealing with the reception as well (26th Dec). We were provided with another heater which was perfect. In the end our 2 night stay was very comfortable. Breakfast was very delicious (freshly made cooked breakfast plus cereals/fruit etc). Ample parking was available in front of the hotel. Due to the time of year, it was noisy after midnight outside on the first night. The room included an electric shower (new), tea/coffee facilities, kettle etc.

David (10/5): - Just a really good experience. Room was good, bed was comfy, breakfast was as good as you would expect. Parking not the most convenient, but you cant have everything.

The bed was a bit lumpy in the center and sloped a bit downward at the head but the pillows helped. Internet for tv was spotty with some stations affected. A good stay but could have been better.

We toured around the area, Berwick on Tweed etc. Kelso is a nice town with individual type shops and cafes and Restaurants.

Karen (10/5): Outstanding hotel - We stayed in room 12 it was immaculate with so much space even had 2 tv’s one in the lounge area and one in the bedroom area well thought out. Bed and sofa very comfy bath was huge lovely shower I really couldn’t find a fault . We ate in the restaurant one night food was beautiful too staff were exceptionally helpful from the minute we arrived. We would definitely recommend staying here it was outstanding.

Catherine (8/5): Attentive and kind. - This old coaching hotel is a mixture of new into old. The site is not easy with tight stairs, but charming. The room for three of us was in the attics, small but very comfortable and carefully cleaned. The staff were helpful when we discovered a light bulb had failed and very kind at breakfast. Thank you.
John (8/5): - Very nice room…modern and at the front, with big window, so lots of fresh air and light in room. Very comfy beds, a little tight on space for 3 of us but was great for just one night. The breakfast was ok, nothing fantastic. We were shown to a table next to 2/3 other tables and as we are very conscious of catching covid, we asked to move to a table more socially distanced. The waitress didn’t seem happy which was disappointing but needs must! She was very chatty with us afterwards!

Philip (6/5): How one rude incident can taint a stay ! - The stay started to be very promising, we were walking St. Cuthbert’s way. Ordered our drinks on our arrival….fine, asked for four bags of crisps…. “We don’t sell crisps !” Second night we took our own crisps into the bar and whilst my husband was ordering the drinks after a hard days walk a voice bellowed across the whole room from the bar “You can’t eat those in here” everyone turned around and gazed at us, very embarrassing. The person in question turned out to be the Supervisor…….training??? A walk across the room and a gentle explanation would have been adequate. We were two couples spending approx. £500 On our stay. The rest of the stay and staff were really good spoilt by this incident. Sandra in reception was most welcoming.
