Guest Reviews
- MickWIW (9/5): Nice at Cherrylee - Location
Comfortable bed
Lovely full English breakfast Nothing comes to mind. It just worked well for our short Isle of Wight stay.
- Susmita (8/5): A great shelter from the rain! - The owner was friendly and accommodating. The decoration was unique which impressed us. Instructions were clear on how to find it. Breakfast arrangements were also very nice.
- Lionel (10/5): Could not have been bettered - I liked the personal touch of the owner who happens to be a very good chef, Leaving
- Sagar (10/5): - Great location and excellent value for money. I also received a complimentary room upgrade, which was a lovely touch. The breakfast was very good. I would definitely stay again.
- Peter (9/5): -
- phil (8/5): Enjoyable B&B - Liked the location, quirky objects & decorations around the B&B. Host extremely polite & friendly. Delicious breakfast Small shower room
- Anna (10/5): Good and clean place - Very clean and cozy place, near to the sea and High street with shops and restaurants. Good public transport link as well. The host is very welcoming, breakfast is also good. No complaints - all is good.
- Renee (10/5): -
- Sondhlana (10/5): Everything was fantastic - The location is fantastic everything is close by .We booked a family room we real enjoyed as a family Sea side ecel
- Angus (9/5): -
- Sharon (9/5): A lovely relaxing stay central to all that we needed - Lee was a wonderful host and very accommodating and we throughly enjoyed our stay, very peaceful house also close to Sandown beach and pier with arcades, just a two min wallk. No parking in the drive but on the road we were able to park everytime we drove away and came back again so all good! I’ve added pics of the beach in Sandown and views from pier and our trip on the Sunday to the Osbourne house and queen Victorias private beach in the grounds that you can visit! Loved exploring the island.

- Elane (10/5): A great b & b to stay.. - Location was excellent for beach, public transport and food-drink places. Host Lee was very welcoming, his breakfasts were amazing. A traditional b & b. Very quirky decor. Would definitely return. N/A

- Bev (7/5): Basic but comfortable - Location excellent for the beach, town and bus routes. I have stayed at the property several times in 28 years so I knew where the property is and the local amenities, though these are sadly depleted now. The carpets in the corridors are clean although the stairways themselves weren't particularly well lit. There are sensor lights at floor level that only lit up when you were immediatly on top of them. The decor in the room I had was tired and needed some tlc, the carpet was in need of a clean as was the room if you looked closely. The proprietor was amenable, easy going and polite. Overall an enjoyable visit. Ideal for a short stay.
- Sumal (8/5): -
- Michelle Q (9/5): Value for money - Lee and Sam helpful and friendly hosts, always around to answer questions .

- Mike (7/5): Overall not bad for a short stay - helpful host. Peaceful at night Street parking only so sometimes had to park some distance from the B&B
Room we had had an extra bed in it which made things rather cramped.

They also have a varied choice of porridge for children, fruit, milk, and different type of buns. The place is very nice, has garden and it is enough quiet, close to town centre and beach (around 5 min to walk).

- Helen (8/5): Great host, location, facilities and value - Great location, friendly host and good value room with everything you need Bit old fashioned and worn but this is reflected in the price and wouldn’t stop us staying here again
- Vicki (10/5): Exceptional - Lee and sandy are both ace , nothing is too much trouble. Very friendly and welcoming , felt like we'd known them years . The room was great with a nice big bed and views to the sea. Breakfast is spot on and cooked fresh . The B & B was clean , comfortable and very quirky. Ideal base to get around the island and 2 minute walk into Sandown . Chico was an added bonus 🐕. We will definitely book again xx Officially there's no designated parking , but don't let that put you off booking , plenty of street parking or the leisure centre at the top of the road x

- Zirne (10/5): Exceptional - The rooms were decorated nicely. It was a very comfortable and good shower in the morning and the breakfast was good We continued our trip . Bit struggling with parking but when we got the space was no problem.
- Mary (10/5): Exceptional - Lee was an excellent host. He was very welcoming and gave us great suggestions for places to visit. The property and amenities were very clean. N/A
- Paul (6/5): Pleasant - Exactly what I wanted, and quite sufficient
- Maleki (7/5): Good - The staff is really nice and the breakfast was amazing
- George (8/5): Excellent - The breakfast was excellent. The bathroom, although it was very clean, it was a bit small.
- Dylan (9/5): Absolutely loved our time at Cherrylee. We have made friends and have so many fond memories. - The breakfast was lovely, the usual options of a full English or parts there of. Cereal, fruit, yoghurt, croissant and pain au chocolat, tea, coffee and fruit juice.
The staff are most excellent, we loved the fact that there was a connection, between us and the jokes just kept on coming from both sides.
Their local knowledge was also very helpful. The only problem and obviously this has nothing to do with the wonderful Cherrylee, is the parking. As the island is an exceedingly quaint and lovely place, the horseless carriage has made an impact and there is only so many vehicles that can be parked. There are a few local car parks, but not close to the venue.
- Sarah (10/5): Exceptional - Really lovely host, excellent breakfast and was close to both the station and the sea. Super comfy bed, gave me one of the best nights sleep had in a long time. Nothing, was amazing and would stay again.
- Ian (8/5): Very good - The location was great, near the top end of Sandown high street and the pier and beach. There are bus stops near the guest house so you can get around the IOW. The guesthouse has a nice front garden with seats you can enjoy. The owners were pleasant and helpful. My room was a bit small, but considering the price I paid it wasn't bad at all.
- Peter (9/5): Solo traveller - Can't fault it - my 2nd stay.
- Kranthi (4/5): This is my first time in B&B and probably I over expected. As mentioned everything is nice but given room is too sma - Its proximity to beach It’s small for family of three. But property is decorated in an awesomely
- Maureen (7/5): Good -
- Piaopiao (10/5): Exceptional - Chill and cozy place! Got great breakfast and the host is very friendly!
- Praveen (10/5): Exceptional - Breakfast is excellent and we felt like home. Very well maintained. Very nice owners. Beautiful stay. NA
- Debbie (9/5): excellent value for money in an ideal location. - really good location, excellent breakfast, very good hosts and excellent value for money. would certainly stay here again. cannot think of anything we did not like .
- Ibrahim (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kavya (8/5): A relaxing weekend holiday. I spent time at Cherrylee only by midnight thanks to prime location. - The host was awesome and made me feel at home. The breakfast was very good. We added an additional spot to our itinerary in the last minute and had to leave early. They were very kind enough to pack everything possible for me and it was the best meal of the day. Cherrylee is in the prime location with the bus stops, beach and all amenities required within 5 min walkable distance. The free glass making session nearby was a good experience too. The single room is good for a single night stay. I am slightly large person. So the bathroom was too tiny for me. It is difficult to sit properly in the loo and difficult to turn in the shower without touching the wall or the shower curtain.
- Daniel (10/5): Great place to stay, ideal for the beach and great transport links around the island. - Had a great stay at this lovely B&B which offers great value for money and is perfectly situated for Sandown beach. Lee is very friendly and provided a lovely clean room with a great breakfast to start the day, perfect! :) There was noting that I didn't like.
- Helen (5/5): Satisfactory but not deluxe as advertised. - There was a good choice of food for breakfast. Location was good for places of interest. Easy parking over the road or next street. Two flights of stairs to get to our room at the front. Was meant to be a ’ deluxe’ room however it wasn’t up to our level of deluxe. There were stains around the sink and toothpaste marks and stains from cups on the dressing table. I think the fridge was very dangerous on top of a very wobbly old table. The pillows were flat and the duvet was not ironed. The larger shower leaked as it wasn’t secured properly.
Full English breakfast was ok but was over cooked and left to keep warm in the oven when we came down after Lee insisted he wanted us to be on time.
- Stuart (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paul (9/5): Superb - The room was comfortable and the breakfast was nice.
- Sue (8/5): It was a great location-I will be back - Warm welcome-clean friendly and convenient for the purpose of my trip Nothing to complain about

I had the small room, which is fine as I’m not very big.
Spent most of the time walking and sight seeing.
Breakfast amazing - cooked English brekky for you, continental available. Bed had a high ground and low ground. Which was fine for me, I slept high.😆
- Paul (10/5): Cherrylee - Lee was an exceptional host ,very friendly and informative, his full English breakfast was top notch. The location of the property was located close to beach and all amenities. Definitely coming back soon.Huge tv and good Internet reception
- David (10/5): Exceptional - Lee the host and Sandy co host were so welcoming and so friendly, I even got a upgrade which was fabulous, My room was great, clean and had everything in the room I needed,From tea/coffee to shower gel and shampoo. And it even had a fridge in it, The morning full English was lovely, Just right to start yea day, Bus stop across the rd and Sandown station a 10 min walk and seafront 5 mins walk. Cherrylee is a good base to explore the island.
- Sam (10/5): Exceptional -
- Susy (10/5): It was my first visit to the property for the IOW festival but it won’t be my last, excellent facilities and great locat - Excellent location, Lee was great and very accommodating and helpful
- Nivin (7/5): Good -
- Angel (9/5): Superb -
- Darrel (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing got there just before 10
The only thing I could if done with was a hot drink, no tea bags in the room, but other than that, it's amazing, breakfast brilliant hit cooked and lovely and I would stay again and I will x Just tea bags or coffee in room
- Beverley (9/5): Superb - Lee is a lovely host, very friendly and helpful 😊 the house is in an ideal spot, close to the seafront and perfect for the things we had got planned. Bed was very comfortable and room was lovely and clean. Lee makes a very good breakfast 😋 👌 Nothing that we didn't like

- Barker (8/5): So good l will be going back - Breakfast was excellent All very comfortable nothing not to likes
- Katrina (8/5): I enjoyed my stay and would go back again. - Owner Lee made me very welcome. Near to sea front and Sandown High Street. Great breakfasts. House full of interesting and quirky conversation pieces including cherry shaped loo brush (to fit the name Cherry Lee) . I came without a car. Sandown Train station near. Several buses stop right outside. that go right around the island, though land slips have caused rerouting to get to Ventnor. I really recommend the nearby National Poo Museum - 5 mins walk away . (It is not a joke. A disused public toilet repurposed. Full of interesting information about our gut biome, British sewage system, toilets through the ages and attributes of animal dung.) Also visited the Botanic Gardens at Ventnor and Roman Villa with well preserved mosaic floors. at Brading.
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional - Sea view and the food was very nicely cooked. Nothing
- Marion (8/5): A useful stop over. - Not too far from the coastal path
- Michael (8/5): Very good - Great value for money,a very comfortable bed and a great host. Breakfast was all good but not so keen on the sausages.
- Rujeev (10/5): Exceptional -
- Balaubramanian (9/5): Superb - The Stay at Cherrylee was awesome. It is close to Sandown pier. Host was very good. We had a good time staying in Cherrylee. Breakfast was exceptional and we liked a lot. Highly recommended Cherrylee 👌 👍 No Comments
