- Harold (9/5): Family is always worth getting to where they are. - This was my first Doubletree stay. If breakfast was included in the room price, I did not know, and did not ask. The restaurant on the first floor of the property was excellent for dinner. The lobby of the property was on the second floor. There were 2 multistory bank buildings. No other downtown businesses except Youngstown State University. It was on winter break. It appears to be the primary business activity in the rust belt-type city. Hallway carpeting is unattractive in daylight, and hideous at night. It appears threadbare. I was traveling to be with family, so seeing them made the hotel of little importance compared to the wonderfulness they exuded.

- elizs77 (4/5): Disappointed - This was our second stay here, with our first being in July. We had a great stay then, and we chose stay again during game weekend against South Dakota State University. We had a completely different experience. It was kind of fun staying at the same hotel as the opposing team, and the young men were well mannered. That was definitely not the issue. The hotel simply couldn't handle other guests when facing a group of this size. *Our room was king with sofa bed, and it had an L shape. The sofa was in a little cubby to the right of the door, away from the rest of the room. I originally thought it would be good to have a bit more space for all 3 of us. Nope. When I went to open the sofa bed, it was clear that there was not enough space to open the bed (see photo). There were also no sheets or pillows for the sofa in the room. *I called the front desk, no one would pick up. Went in person with the below photo. Front desk staff was at first confused about what was going onf, but eventually said she would send up maintenance to move the couch and bring the missing bedding bag. *The maintenance man. Bless his heart. Hard working man, and he was just done with fixing issues others had made. He let us know that the room had been deep cleaned earlier in the week, and no one bothered to move the sofa back. He took care of it for us quickly - it was a good 20 feet from where it needed to be over in the main part of the room. *Later first night - our teen took a shower and found the bottles for the body wash and the shampoo were out. Called down to the front desk again. They again sent that poor maintenance man up to the room with the full bottles of body wash and shampoo that housekeeping had overlooked. *Both nights - hot water was lukewarm, even when placed to the highest setting. We originally attributed the problem to the large group in the hotel, but we had it the second night as well. *Second evening - walked into our room around 5 pm, and it had not been serviced at all. We don't care about the bed being made, but we do care about clean towels. Called down for towels and washcloths, only to realize we were also out of toilet paper. Not even a backup roll. Added that to our housekeeping order. Who did they send up with the items? That overworked maintenance man. It's like housekeeping didn't really exist this weekend. *When I called to indicate that we had not received any service that day, the man at the front desk didn't say anything like, "Oh, sorry we skipped your room," nor did he say, "Oh, we don't do that except upon request." Just we'll bring up towels. So I have no idea why we didn't have our room serviced other than the housekeeping just couldn't take on another room that day. I REALLY want this hotel to do well. It's a great addition to downtown Youngstown. It's much needed. But they've really got to get it together (and give the maintenance man a raise). I thought we had our place when we visit, but we will not be returning.

- Tammie (4/5): - Barely enough water pressure to wash our hands when we arrived. Never thought we would have the same issue with the shower. But the next morning we barely had enough water in the shower to shampoo our hair. The glass shower half-wall blocks you from turning on the water to see if there is enough water pressure until you’re in the shower. The bed was comfortable. Pillows are great. Staff was friendly but would do NOTHING to compensate for the terrible experience. Thankfully Hotels.com was able to get a 10% refund.

- Freddie Scott (10/5): Best hotel in Youngstown! - We only spent one day in this beautiful hotel, so not much to say but the facilities were amazing! Very sexy and classy. Our room, I just can't say enough about it. We were in the 2 queen suite. The tall ceilings, the huge windows, the natural sunlight, the room....just amazing. Nothing to report that we did not like.

- crypticnymph (10/5): - Everything was very clean. The atmosphere is great, and it is definitely a nicer hotel. All of the staff we interacted with were amazing, friendly, and went out of their way. It is a short walk to the Covelli Centre so it's nice for events. There's not a whole lot to do in the area but I can see this being a nice couples' retreat. The location is a little awkward, though I guess that comes with being in a city. With this, parking can be a nightmare, especially if you are here during an event - we struggled to find a spot when we came back at night. I wish the full service restaurant on the bottom floor had longer breakfast hours, but otherwise I have no complaints.

- loveisbliss (8/5): Solid Option - Stayed here for two nights this past weekend with a sports team. The location was very convenient to YSU. As all downtown hotels, expect to pay a daily parking fee. As for the room, it was very comfortable. Upon arrival, the room was clean. The bed is quite comfortable with plenty of pillows. The bath has been updated with newer style glass door showers and nicely lit mirror. Towels were of good quality. Check in is actually on the 2nd floor and staff was professional. I have no opinion on the breakfast because I did not use my breakfast coupons. Overall, I would recommend this property if you need to be downtown or near the university. However, know that there are plenty of other options outside the downtown area that does not charge parking.

Came back for second day check in and asked again this time to speak with a manager and they said he was busy baking cookies and could not be bothered. Paid excessof 300$ a night for a room in the Yo! Property/rooms are quite nice, and easy access to churches/weddings. But no valet parking.

- Amory (9/5): I came into town for a graduation and the hotel was a block away which was very convenient. - I particularly liked the architecture of the hotel. I did not like that you cannot get an Uber at the hotel, the coffee was not good and the ladies at the front desk did not have much of a welcoming personality.
