The location is very central to the train station, beach and the old village. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to come back some day.

We had a good welcome on arrival and everyone was helpful and friendly. There was no bath but the modern shower was effective and it was all very clean. Parking was limited but we always found somewhere very close by if not by the actual premises.
• Randall (10/5): - David and Rosemary were over the top hosts. The property has extensive extras not seen elsewhere that add value to our experience and highly recommend this property. They offered excellent made to order breakfast, best on this South England trip. If we were in area, we would definitely stay at this property again.

• Rebecca (10/5): - Westbury Lodge was an absolute saviour for us and our pup after having to leave two prior properties due to various issues. Rosemary and David were so welcoming upon our late arrival and chatted with us for a bit before taking us to our room. David even took our luggage up to the room for us when we arrived. The breakfast was amazing and thoughtful. The lounge and conservatory were both cozy and welcoming, and although it was a short stay, we enjoyed our time in those common areas on our last day. The bedroom was spacious, comfortable, and spotless, and the furniture had the lovely B&B feel. The property was a very short walk to the beach and was everything we wanted and needed. Thank you Rosemary and David for a perfect place to call home after a very rough few days.

Firstly, a pot of tea and lemon drizzle cake! Breakfast menu is vast and filling and beat us on each morning. Our room was comfortable and housekeeping very clean.

Close to the beach walk, the Chine and old village. The hosts are very friendly and welcomed us even though we arrived late (10:30 pm). Great breakfast options, and provided advice about the isle. Provide carafes of water and room had all the coffee, tea, hot chocolate amenities for those who use it. The room was good sized, quiet, and comfortable. The bathroom was large and the shower worked well. There is no AC, but closing the curtains during the day, and opening windows at night kept the temperature comfortable and cool.

• Robin (9/5): A very pleasant, enjoyable and relaxing holiday. - Very good breakfasts with lots of food choices. We were made to feel very welcome and all our needs were met. Spacious bedroom with lots of wardrobe and drawer space, and a comfortable lounge area and conservatory. Very happy with our stay and there was nothing that we didn't like.
• Nicola (10/5): Lovely "home from home" place to stay, would definitely recommend. - Rosemary & David were very friendly and welcoming, offering advice on the local area (restaurants etc.). Nothing is too much trouble. It was nice that each room had their own reserved table for breakfast and I think it's a great idea to offer the use of this for guests to bring back take-away food, although we ate out each evening. The choice for breakfast was very good, with a selection of fresh fruit and lighter cooked options. I highly recommend the Egg Florentine, the Hollandaise sauce tasted home made. The room was really bright & airy and exceptionally clean. The location is good, just a short walk to the town and the lift to access the beach. In the event of bad weather, they have brollys to lend and somewhere to leave muddy boots in the entrance hall.

So quite and comfortable with all you could ask for on a relaxing break. Lots of board games should you want to relax in the lounge or conservatory. Rooms were spotless, bright and come with lovely calming subtle decor. Perfect for a relaxing time. The breakfasts were excellent and you had a choice of some excellent locally sourced products. Rosemary and David and their team made our 5 night stay one of the best and we shall be returning again soon I hope Nothing at All!!! Everything was lovely and it was a joy to stay there. Great to have adults only. Thank you Rosemary and David for a lovely break. 😍

• Kath (8/5): Very good - We received a warm welcome, it was dark and we had some difficulty parking, on Booking.com it is listed as a hotel, so we were confused, but it is a lovely place, a lovely location, amazing actually to be walking distance from the beach, the breakfast was amazing, the choice, presentation and neatness of the dining area, it was gorgeous and so pretty, we would go again for sure, thank you for a lovely couple of nights stay
• Clive (10/5): Staying here was the centre piece of a very enjoyable week's holiday on the island. - A first-rate breakfast with plenty of choice and very well cooked. The fruit bowl and yoghurt were also well received. This is one of the best guest houses we have had the pleasure to stay in, and we will certainly stay again when we are next in Shanklin for a short stay. The owners are very friendly and know the island well, and they want to do their best to ensure you have an enjoyable stay.

David makes THE best scrambled eggs, everything he cooked for our varied breakfasts was delicious and hot. We shall recommend Westbury Lodge as the perfect place to stay on the Isle of Wight. • Geraint (10/5): Fabulous hotel, Shanklin - From the moment we arrived to the moment we left our hosts Rosemary and David could not have been more welcoming and helpful. Westbury Lodge is a wonderful place to stay, as close to the fabulous beach as it is to the town. There is masses of space in the communal areas. Our room was very comfortable with 2 single beds and a large modern bathroom. The largest fluffiest towels ever, too many other facilities to go through. David is an accomplished chef so expect a fantastic breakfast whether cooked or chilled from locally sourced produce. There is parking and we were offered space in their back yard for our motorcycle. We will definitely return in the future. A very highly recommended hotel. Absolutely nothing

It was the best stay I have had anywhere. I have big expectations but they were all exceeded. I came with my wife Michelle, my mother Mary and my 11 month old black Labrador called Angus. They all loved it . They were so accommodating of our dog , they even bought him treats . He loved them all as we all did. I struggle with anxiety and can be extremely shy but I felt totally comfortable at Westbury . Thank you so much . We will always try and stay with you if you are not fully booked , when we come over to visit my wife’s parents . The breakfast was amazing ! Incredible choice of cold breakfast options and there was also a vast array of combinations for cooked breakfast cooked by David who was amazing . The best breakfast selection and best tasting breakfast using local produce from butcher , bakers etc I have ever experienced !
