• Laura Franziska (8/5): Perfect place for a stay in Santiago - The hostel is located in a quiet, safe neighborhood in Santiago, right near various bakeries, cafés, restaurants, and bars. The metro station for the city center is about a 10-minute walk away. The communal breakfast in the morning creates a sort of family atmosphere among the guests, and the breakfast was one of the best we had during our trip.
• Steven (10/5): Loved every minute. - I started my trip here 3 months ago and just had to come back and stay at the end of it. I was so lucky to stay at this hostel at the start of my journey. The owner Ivan was an absolute god send when starting out, he could not have been more helpful when I had various issues with my phone. His hosting skills are second to none and his BBQ skills are even better. The beds are super comfy due to the quality mattresses and proper down duvets. Water pressure is good and there is always hot water. Bkfst is really nice, freshly made herbed scrambled eggs and really good guacamole 😋. The small pool is really nice to have when the weather is hot. This hostel isn’t just a hostel, it is a home from home that gets filled with lots of new friends all the while. The social atmosphere here is what makes the place stand out amongst all the other hostels I have stayed in. If you are looking for a friendly and helpful place to stay in Santiago then this ideal. It is also in a really safe area surrounded by excellent places to eat and drink. Absolutely nothing, it is a great place to stay.

• Jasmine (10/5): Quiet and cosy hostal in great neighbourhood - This hostal is like home. It’s my favourite place after weeks and weeks of traveling. Very limited beds so everyone interacts with one another. It’s the first place I’ve been where people actually converse instead of being glued to phones. Great breakfast provided where everyone eats together. Nice and safe neighbourhood - Barrio Italia. Ivan is super helpful and cares a lot about our comfort. The whole vibe of the hostel is exactly what I needed to relax and make plans. Nothing.

Safe area as a solo female traveller Everything was perfect- only thing to note is it requires cash payment on check out which could have been clearer!

• Naomi (6/5): - The staff were friendly and breakfast was tasty. The location was near to good restaurants. The bunks have no safety rails for top bunk and feel quite flimsy. There is only 1 shower for over 14 people. Cleanliness could be improved. Loud music going into the early hours of the morning.

• Katja (8/5): Een nieuw thuis - Ivan is geweldig. Hij maakte het alsof het je thuis was en ik zou zeker terugkomen voor hem en zijn plek. Het zwembad en de stoelen eromheen zijn top. Het ontbijt elke ochtend met elkaar voelt als een familie. Met een paar kleine dingen kan het comfort van het hostel wel echt verbeterd worden: bij elk bed een plankje aan de muur, een kast die niet kapot is en waar de winterdekens ergens anders gestald worden, een prullenbak in de kamer.

• Carlos Henrique (7/5): Bom, mas pode/deve melhorar - Bom café da manhã; Quarto amplo e espaçoso; banheiro limpo; boa localização, próximo de bons restaurantes, supermercados, estação de metro...; boa internet; o responsável, Sr. Ivan é atencioso e possui boas informações para os turistas. Não há água quente nas pias; apenas um banheiro (com chuveiro) e um lavabo atendendo a todos os quartos, inclusive aos quartos privados do interior da residência; senti falta de um aquecedor no quarto e\ou para os cômodos comuns; não há separação dos lixos recicláveis e não recicláveis; a louça suja usada pelos responsáveis do hostel fica acumulada na pia depois de um certo horário; não há grandes armários, apenas pequenos para guardar objetos de valor.

• Veb7 (10/5): Best hostel in Santiago for solo travelers - Honestly. still my favorite hostel in Santiago, by far! Ivan is a superstar. He genuinely loves his work and that shows in his interactions with the people in the hostel (even when some of them are more demanding). His energy creates an incredible family-like atmosphere where everyone feels welcome to interact with other solo travelers, eat together, chill together and more. This was my 3rd time in the hostel and everything is as I remember - clean spaces, rooms, spacious dorms, huge private room, nice pool and outside area, great kitchen, always available toilets/bathrooms. Bonus: The neighbourhood is probably the most interesting, while still being super safe ones in Santiago. It's got good coffee, food, vibes and more all within a few blocks. I plan to be back everytime I spend a few days in Santiago.

It's set up in a way that makes it really easy to hang out in the central garden space, and everyone just chats and goes out together. The pool's also great for a hot day. The location is AMAZING. I love the Italiano neighborhood. It's super safe to walk around at night. The breakfast is huge and filling. I liked it so much I came back. Nothing.

A few tiny tweaks could improve this brilliant hostel - for example shelves inside the shower in the shared bathroom, so you can bring your toiletries in without having to put them on the floor.

• Kelsey (10/5): Great vibes, a cosy home and the best host - Amazing hostel! Would’ve loved to stay longer. In a great location, right amongst the bars and restaurants of Barrio Italia. Beds are super comfortable and the pool is so great to have after a day in the hot sun. Sitting around the backyard at night drinking wine and piscos makes it so easy to meet people and make friends. Iván is the real star and he goes out of your way to make you feel at home. Definitely coming back!
