Überall waren kleine Willkommensschildchen mit meinem Namen drauf. Alles hervorragend erklärt und leicht zu finden. Das Zimmer war Klasse, der Service, die Sauberkeit und vor allem das hervorragende Frühstücksbüffet muss unbedingt erwähnt werden. Reichlich Obst, super köstliche selbstgemachte Konfitüre, (sogar glutenfreie Brötchen Optionen sind möglich) und eine enorm freundliche Bedienung. Man spürt, dass die Menschen wahrhaftig mit Herz dabei sind. Das ist wundervoll und hat mich echt begeistert. Ich komme sehr gerne wieder in dieses süße Hotel! Love it! Nix

Parking & Lodging worked flawlessly. Experienced no issues whatsoever. Clean and comfortable. Beds and Shower were good. The room had a little bit of bad lighting in the room, which made it quite dark. The waterbottles were not refilled on the following days. The building is quite old and you hear a lot, and you can hear the housekeeping running the vacuums in the morning.

• Lee (10/5): Stay here, you won’t regret it. - I stayed here on business with a colleague. The Manager is extremely eloquent and we shared a lovely drink with him at a local bar he was attending. Attention to detail is everything and a way of life here. The way their staff are looked after here is inspiring, the quality of Swiss life shines through is the service. I wouldn’t book anywhere else locally, I’d always choose this hotel in future, given the choice.

Beautiful boutique hotel, complimentary water, amazing breakfast, including freshly boiled eggs. Decoration throughout the hotel was exquisite. Great staff - helpful, polite and friendly. We were on a 16 day trip, visiting France, Italy and Switzerland. This hotel was by far the most outstanding, due to the decor, facilities, breakfast and the staff, lead by the fantastic Ferdinand! We will be back for sure! Everything was FAB-U-LOUS!!!

The Hotel is in the old town, very close to the castle. The rooms on the frontside are very nice. However, when there is market in Saturday morning, you might wake up a bit sooner than expected from people building up the market. Not a big deal at all, just to let you know.

• Zixin (6/5): Except extra charge and the small room for 3 of us , which should be 2 people’s room originally, the rest were good. - breakfast the room is quite small for 3 people which we booked. this room apparently just for 2 people, additional bed seems add temporarily, and it was uncomfortable bed for sleeping. And I complain the additional tax charge: I was told by booking.com that I already paid the whole price ( final price), including city tax, but when I check out the hotel still charge me 60 CHF over for the tax.

The hotel is in a good central location close to several restaurants. Private parking space ( booked with hotel before arrival). Clean and modern hotel, comfortable bed. We loved the sound of nearby church bells and clocks chiming and slept well. Great views from the rooftop terrace Would definitely return if in the area. Lighting in the bedroom could have been better.

• Samuel (10/5): - Selten haben wir einen solch grossartigen Service erlebt. Wir haben kurzfristig gebucht und während der Anfahrt wurden wir bereits vom Hotel telefonisch kontaktiert und gefragt, ob wir einen Parkplatz benötigen und sie sonst noch etwas für uns tun können. Der Parkplatz lag dann auch direkt beim Hotel und war sogar mit unserem Namen beschriftet. Vor Ort wurden wir mit einem frischen, kühlen Bier empfangen. Der Hotelmanager hat uns herzlich begrüsst und uns alles detailliert erklärt, inkl. der Stadt. Das Restaurant ist hübsch gestaltet und es gibt viele regionale Produkte, welche auch für zuhause gekauft werden können. Das Frühstück war äusserst lecker. Die Zimmer sind modern und sehr sauber und das Bett sehr bequem. Nach dem Einchecken haben wir dann das Roof Top besucht und einen wunderschönen Blick über Burgdorf mit dem Felsen und dem Schloss. Hier gibt es gar nichts zu bemängeln und neben dem Hotel ist auch Burgdorf einen Besuch wert. Vielen Dank für den fantastischen Aufenthalt. Wir kommen sicher wieder.

• Irina_Nurzad (10/5): The friendliest host - Although the hotel is a 3-star, it was one of the best experiences I had in terms of service, host and the environment. The hotel is located in a central district of Burgdorf. The hotel itself is a boutique one, rooms are comfortable, clean and quiet. The host is a character here, he himself checks you in, shows you the room and whereabouts. All these small little things and homely treatment made our stay very pleasant. :))
• 344blankas (10/5): A gorgeous little gem with a great cause - Burgdorf’s Hotel Orchidee is a wonderful experience for many reasons. The easy to see ones are perfect location in the heart of the old town, stylish and super comfortable rooms, and a wonderful rooftop with simpy stunning views. But there is more than meets the eye instantly. Hotel frontman Ferdinand is the perfect host who pays amazing attention to each and every guest. And the place is run by a foundation that employs disabled people giving them a sense and purpose in life. Combined this with the wonderful hospitality, just staying at the Orchidee is worth alone the trip to Burgdorf.
• russellguntramm (10/5): Beautiful weekend break - This lovely hotel right in the middle of beautiful Burgdorf was a pleasure to stay at and made a perfect venue for a much needed Spring weekend break. Easy parking behind the hotel with comfortable beds and well appointed bedrooms. Very attentive hotel manager and staff providing a cous cous to die for during dinner! Great buffet breakfast to follow the next day with the added attraction of a Saturday local street market just in front of the hotel. Many thanks for making our stay so memorable.
• BCKCRCKR (10/5): Exceptional Experience! Tolles Hotel am Jakobsweg! - On our mini weekend hiking trip on St. Jacob‘s trail we spent a night at the Orchidee in Burgdorf. We were very warmly welcomed by the hotel manager Ferdinand who made our whole stay a wonderful and unforgetable experience. Nice and clean rooms, great food and drinks, interesting conversations and an overall cozy and welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommended!

I had lunch at the hotel and the menu was excellent and various. In addition, the staff is absolutely helpful and friendly. I definitely recommend a visit to this hotel!

Freundlicher Service am Morgen.
• Thorstat (8/5): Nice design hotel. - I was there on a business trip. The room was nice and the bed was ok. I enjoyed my dinner and the breakfast was ok. The only downturn was that my room had no aircondition and was towards the street which is a pedestrian zone. I needed to open both windows but the bars and cafes had people sitting outside until almost midnight.
• bafomet (6/5): Odd - Don't know what to make of this place really. We arrived for our business meeting just outside of town and were given a key code for the hotel as we were told it would be "closed" at 5.00pm! Sure enough the place was locked tight and on entering found our key cards and check in forms on the counter. The room was spotless and everything where it should be. When we went back downstairs later expecting at least to find someone in the (not really a bar, more like a shelf with bottles of spirits on it) again there was no one in sight. Returning after dinner in town the hotel was in semi darkness and we retreated to our rooms. Very quiet, very serene, very odd! Breakfast was a typical Swiss affair but at lease there was a living person serving coffee! It's ok if you don't mind fending for yourself.
• CFloor (8/5): Luzernerweg 3rd stop - Down town Burgdorf - nicely modern styled hotel. Great service , very friendly staff and very nice food. Breakfast buffet is excellent. Modern place that comes with a price, but it is very well worth it if you do not have to look too close at a ' budget'.
• 645neild (10/5): Just what we needed - Only spent one night here. Saturday to Sunday with breakfast. The hotel was opened three years ago so still has a new feel about it. The fixtures and fittings are all "Swiss quality" and no corners have been cut. The bar on the roof must be brilliant in the Summer and is still with a visit in November. The staff are friendly and efficient. The restaurant was full so the food must be good. I would definitely return if I had to spend another night in Burgdorf.

• capri2008isle (10/5): Burgdorf's Hidden Gem - Nestled in historic Burdorf, is this charming hotel and restaurant. The room was impeccable, the bathroom was spacious and modern, and the service was outstanding. The location is ideal - close to the castle, within walking distance of the river, swimming pool, stores, restaurants, and the train and bus station, although you can take bus 461 from the station and it will arrive within a 1-2 minute walk to the hotel. Breakfast was delicious: meat, cheese, eggs, pastries, fresh Swiss bread, rolls, cereal, etc. along with coffee, cappuccino, fresh juice, etc.
• 79Nina79 (4/5): Nice rooms - service lacking - We booked over a dozen rooms at this hotel for a family get together including a pre-arranged dinner. The rooms of the hotel are nice, although the bed in our double room was rather small (140cm) and as it was a warm day a mini-bar would have been nice (there is a water cooker for tea/coffee). However the pre-arranged dinner was sorely lacking. There was only one waitress (clearly stressed, and you couldn't blame her as she had to serve other people in the restaurant next to our separate dining room) serving 30+ people. We had spaghetti with different sauces and salad that we went to serve ourselves, but after some people went for a second helping there was no more pasta. We had to wait 30 minutes for a second portion. If you sign up for a "Spaghetti-Plausch" you expect there to be enough pasta for everyone (including bread). Then when the restaurant closed there was no chance for a last round of drinks. I do not blame the waitress for the poor service but rather management, who knew weeks in advance that a large group would be staying there and didn't provide enough service (or food) for such a large group (and when you pay 30 CHF for pasta and a green salad you expect not to go hungry). So based on our experience I would NOT recommend this hotel.
• Frenchfrog39 (10/5): Nice Boutique Hotel in the heart of old town - Hotel Orchidee is wonderfully located in the heart of Burgdorf's old town. It is both modern and cosy at the same time. The hotel style is very appealing to young travellers from abroad and at the same time the locals love to gather in its coffee / breakfast room for some lively discussions. For me, the perfect mixture. Service is professional, rooms modern and spotless, the breakfast is ok but do not expect cooked breakfast, it is rather typical Swiss cheese and ham. Beds are top quality, you will sleep like a baby, the old town of Burgdorf must be the quietest town in Switzerland :)
