Guest Reviews
- bruce (8/5): - exactly as expected
- Verified traveler (2/5): - We were told our booking was not valid as hotel was taken over 2 weeks ago. Charged us £10 more than agreed (£80). Asked us when we wanted breakfast in the morn. When we appeared there was a pack of Special K and some muesli on the bar counter. A tea and coffee was provided but nothing else. We asked when cooked breakfast would be served only to be told that kitchen was out of service. Bar was closed very early on Saturday evening. Unable to contact anyone. It was a run down scruffy shambles. People should be warned.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Cheap and in the centre of Royston. Bed comfortable and warm room. Fine to crash for a night. Receptionist efficient and pleasant enough. But with no common parts to speak of - no bar, restaurant or even lobby area to hang out in - there’s very little to recommend about this rather unloved and down at heel place. Odd the owners don’t just sell it to someone who cares...
- MrMac (8/5): - Was cheap, convenient and central.
It is decline- needs investment
- Danni (2/5): Appalling - Worst stay I’ve had in a hotel, on arrival at the “pub” my grandad asked for a coke from the bar to drink, offered only one type of beer or orange juice. Appalling service, when advertised as pub, dinner, breakfast etc. Considered other accommodation even if it was non refundable! Ridiculously overpriced for a pathetic box room, which the male housekeeper allowed himself into both mornings at 8.20am with his keys! Even when we made ourselves clear that we were in the room, he continued to open the door. Disgraceful and felt wholly unsafe.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Very helpful staff by giving us a lift when no taxis were available.
- William (8/5): Comfortable and Clean - Disappointed that the Bar and Restaurant was closed but comfortable and clean bedroom and very fast service at breakfast cooked to order. Its right in the centre of town so finding food was easy .
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I love Royston. The hotel has a good location and the staff was very friendly. Clean, nice and cosy. Building with character. Resonable price.
- peter (8/5): clean & basic with good quality beds - stayed fore one night whilst visiting friends in Royston. quick efficient book in with a smile. room was completely serviceable with everything you needed for a good nights sleep and the en-suite was clean and bright. The room was small but I had my eyes closed. I didn't use the restaurant but have had a drink in the bar and it was lovely overall it was excellent value for the money and I look forward to staying again soon.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - very basic, small room in need of decoration, uncomfortable bed, basic bland breakfast
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Walked up the fire escape in the dark car park to get to my room, took one look at the room and left.
