- Liliana (9/5): - La gentilezza dell’accoglienza.
- Artan (10/5): -

- Mário (8/5): Estadia no campo - O anfitrião, extremamente simpático !
- Sean (8/5): Accommodation was great, met all our needs and would recommend - Perfect location for the Camino De Invierno. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Beds were comfortable. Room met all our needs and would recommend the establishment. Nothing comes to mind
- .Wilkinson (9/5): Great stay - Location, friendliness of owners, food in the restaurant and theme. Water wasn't very warm in the shower
- jehuda nitzan (10/5): One word -perfection - Lovely homy atmosphere and beautiful place with lovely Merisol ,the owner, which helped us a lot and made sure that our stay was perfect.
- Julia (10/5): - El personal un once.
- Nathalie (10/5): - Marisol was very welcoming and I had a great dinner. Tomatoes from the garden and coffee pudding were delicious.
The room was big enough with a balcony. But the garden area was where it was the best. Marisol prepared the breakfast for me so I could leave whenever I wanted and there was another delicious homemade cake. Unfortunately the swimming pool had a leak so I was not able to use it. These things happen. Otherwise all was great.
- paul (10/5): Marisol made the stay so wonderful - Marisol, was an absolute star here. She made us so welcome and made sure that we had everything we needed.
We cannot thank Marisol enough, what an angel. Thank you.
The evening meal was so delicious. All perfect

- Alejandra (10/5): Inmejorable - No podíamos haber estado mejor.
Nada. Todo bien!!
- Nobby (9/5): Superb -
- Karen (8/5): excellent - Perfect location for the camino de Invierno, very friendly and accomodating, good home cooked food which we ate sat out in the garden, very peaceful, definitely recommend it
- Lynda (10/5): It’s a must in my book. - Everything! From the moment that I was welcomed in the front door. I was treated like a person of great importance. I loved the building, my bedroom, the external eating room and its quirky decorating. The food was delicious and filling- home cooked typical Spanish dishes for the area. The staff were exceptionally kind.
- Benoit (9/5): Superb - The place is very charming, the hotel staff is very friendly with clients.
Establishment is clean and well located to Las Medulas trails. Rooms are quite close to each other, walls are thin and you can hear people in other rooms easily.
- Ann (10/5): Exceptional -
- Victor (8/5): Very good -
- Karen (10/5): fabulous experience. - we couldn't fault the hotel it had everything you could want or need the hosts were wonderful in a fabulous place.
we will definitely reccomend it to family and friends. we loved everything about our experience. we didn't have one thing to complain about.
- Cam (3/5): Terrible beds, noises, bad service and compelled to always pay cash - bad WIFI in a village with no network coverage. Ne - It has a good garden and good food but only for clients. The house is nice but very badly isolated. There are plenty of rural houses and places to stay in the village with much more comfortable and with a better value for money. We were forced to have dinner at the time they wanted under the threat that we would not get food and there is no other place in the village whereby one can get any food at all. The rooms are small and badly isolated, a couple was arguing until 2am and we could hear as if they were in our room. The WIFI is very poor and we were not allowed to use the pool because of an alleged insurance issue. The mattress was so thin that we could not sleep more than 2 hours. The lady in charge of the hostel gave one of our pillows to another client and did not replace ours, so we had to sleep with one small pillow the two of us and I ended up sleeping in the floor with the cover as pillow and my pool towel as bed sheets. The room was hot as hell and the air fan was so loud that we could not sleep with it. We had to open de window and we could hear the couple arguing even more. We paid 76 euros for a night in a place that looks nice outside but that has no confort and facilities. Breakfast was only available during one hour in the morning. They would not even serve a coffee outside that one hour breakfast span. In sum, out of 11 houses were we stayed in the area this was by far our worst experience. I don’t recommend it at all. There must be some tax evasion issue because the owners force you to pay everything in cash or by Bizum transfer…. Terrible stay. We entered at 19h and left at 11am totally disappointed by the bad service, bad beds, terrible heat and extreme noises and steps from other clients in other room. Miserable. Please don’t trust the looks of the place. It’s a rotten apple. The people running the hostel also did badmouth constantly one of his family members who is a very relevant businessman in the region. Very bad attitude and no class. Village people.
- Nicolai (10/5): Unforgettable. - Breakfast was simple but very good and rich. Very good and freshly made coffee. I've stayed in top notch Hotels all over the world but never have seen a better cleaned room like here. Poolside is great. It's an absolute hidden gem. The Hosts Marisol and Saturnino are absolutely amazing and kind and were very patient with my little spanish.
Nothing to mention...
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional - Fantastic place lovely very quiet village near las Medulas. Great hosts very welcoming the food is fantastic and the wine was divine. Good pool area for relaxing. The restaurant is full of antique items and makes for an interesting experience. Having to leave9
- Andrew (8/5): Very good - The restaurant, lounge and swimming pool are excellent. The owners made us feel very welcome and are very friendly The view from the bedroom window was disappointing and the sound proofing was great.
- Fiona (10/5): Exceptional - The owners are lovely and very helpful.we use Google translate to communicate. 😁 beds very comfy ..lovely soft pillow.
Evening meal always delicious and lots of toast and homemade jam.
The whole place is very clean.
I love the ambiance of the place and all the old traditional pieces.
Swimming pool fabulous.
Cannot fault anything
- Anton (9/5): Superb -
- Roderick (10/5): Perfect stay at a charming rural hotel - We stayed two nights in this little rural hotel tucked away in the centre of a small village and our host, MariSol, went out of her way to make our stay special.
The hotel is spotlessly clean and the modest bedroom was perfectly comfortable. We had a drink in the sunshine on the terrace our first night as well as a substantial steak and chips washed down with a good bottle of local red wine.
Homemade yummy flan to follow.
Limited breakfast and a good cup of coffee was served in the rustic restaurant with walls covered in interesting ancient agricultural implements and other old ornaments picked up at local shops and at auction. There is a nice rural theme throughout the hotel.
A delightful stay at a reasonable cost and we would not hesitate to return.
- Geoff (9/5): Great option on day 1 of Camino invierno - First night on the Camino invierno very comfy stay room heated at night lovely looking out on village square. Lovely hostess prepared simple but filling dinner and prepared breakfast for us to have next morning at time of our choice Brekky was most expensive of our Camino for a simple breakfast but loved the convenience of an early start
Garden lacks a clothes line for hikers to dry clothes in the afternoon sun
- Colleen (9/5): Superb -
- Laureen (10/5): Exceptional - Great hostess Mariesol. Didn't speak Englisg but we coped. She organised a meal for us, local fare which was delicious. She also organised an early breakfast for us. Nothing was a problem. Was quite knowledgeable about camino invierno which is what we are walking. Could hear neighbours next door
- Charles (9/5): Great place to stayowner. to see Las Médulas. Easy to get to and the to thesites. - The owners were great. They made great suggestions on things to see in the area. The room was comfortable and the heat worked. The food was good. The restaurant was decorated with antiques and old alcohol bottles, very quint. Take time to get to know the owners. The restaurant didn't have a menu. Our Spanish listening isn't that great. We went with the owner and cook's suggestion of "something typical." It was really good.
- Jeff (10/5): Exceptional - Our hosts were such lovely people and their accommodation is beautiful.
- Andrew (10/5): Exceptional - Lovely place nice pool and fantastic restaurant great food and ambience very friendly hosts.
- Dawn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ferry (9/5): Great stay if you want to visit Las Medulas and enjoying the sun. - Friendly and helpful hotel owners. In addition, the garden was very cozy and decorated with beautiful flowers. Bit noisy when other doors close in the hotel.
- Charlotte (9/5): Memorable authentic small village hotel very close to Las Medulas and near the Camino de Santiago -
- John (10/5): A relaxing place to stay after a long days walk. - Staff was incredibly welcoming. Great mojitos. Nada.
- Martin (10/5): A great place to stay, in an area with plenty of historic attractions nearby. - I stayed here last year, so I knew it would be great. The owners, Saturno and Mariuspol, run a very customer-focused business. I look forward to returning again, hopefully next year. All good.
- Clive (10/5): A jewel of a stay, with great hosts and great food!! - This a jewel of a Casa Rural!! I booked through booking.com and it said there were no meal options… that is SO WRONG! The owners of this beautifully restored old building, have a lovely bar and restaurant too, and they do all the cooking, and it’s great! Such lovely hosts - I would recommend this place to anyone thinking about stopping at Borrenes while walking the Camino Invierno… it’s perfect! Oh and they have a salt water swimming pool too - doesn’t get much better! :-) nothing.
- Cullen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Paulo (9/5): Lovely Cosy Hotel Near Las Medulas - Location, Forniture, Bar, Garden x
- William (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ernie (10/5): Among the best places I have stayed on four Camino walks in Spain. - everything was great - the setting, the room, meals/food and most especially the hosts. my friend and I are walking the Camino Invierno and Cornatel Medulas was the perfect stop after a long day of walking! nothing
- Samuel (10/5): Fabulous rural hotel with lovely hosts - What a great place to stay! It was clean, comfortable, very quiet, and the hosts extremely welcoming and helpful. It's a rustic and fairly basic rural hotel (don't expect something comparable to a Parador) but has everything you need for a short stay - there is even a heated pool! The restaurant attached serves good locally sourced wholesome food - there was no menu when we were there, you had what you were given - but we had no complaints and certainly didn't starve. Breakfast was basic but quite adequate, and our hosts home made apple jam was great. The hosts couldn't do enough for us, and even insisted on driving ahead of us when we left to show us the most scenic route to take (or maybe to make sure we had gone...). I'd stay here again without hesitation Nothing at all
- Zsu (10/5): Wonderful place - We booked a room in last minute for a night, on our way home. It was such a lovely surprise.
The hosts are charming, and the dinner, a 3-courses meal was amazing. It was special to spend such a nice evening in the garden, with other guests, and enjoy the meal, nature, conversations.
I hope to return one day.
