- Karen (8/5): Perfect location for Osaka n a modern comfortable hotel. - The location of the Mercure is perfect for a short walk to Dontonbori and the main area of the city. The hotel is modern, dark, moody decor, the room a great size with comfy beds. We chose a room with a washingmachine/dryer which I was happy to use. My only comment was that we paid for breakfast one morning and were a little underwhelmed at the range of food on offer. The dining space is small so long ine up to get seated.

I would copy the shower if I was building an apartment. Location is couple blocks from Dotonbori but without the noise. 2 major metro stations nearby. Breakfast buffet with great variety. Staff were super helpful. Easy to use luggage forwarding service. It was perfect!

- JOANNE (5/5): Passable for my 1 night transit - The location was bustling and not too far from Namba station. I didn't expect much from the reception based on previous reviews, but the uncle welcomed me warmly and helped me with my bags. It was cheap, and passable for 1 night. The steep staircase can't be helped. There was a loud noise beside my bed wall, like it was where the vent or water runs... I literally couldn't sleep. It was also extremely hot and stuffy in the room, there was not ventilation. There was cc tv even in the women's dorm which is very uncomfortable for me. It was not super clean in the toilet/shower room, but I've seen worse. So just be aware not Japanese standards maybe cuz there was many foreigners. So I guess this was passable for the price. and luckily just one night for me.

- Sally (10/5): A peaceful, well-located stay - Mercure Hotel was in a fantastic, central location allowing us to site see across Osaka with ease. We especially loved being close to the food district and having a short walk back to the hotel at the end of each night. We stayed for 3 nights, the room was spacious, comfortable and had a washer/dryer which meant we could wash our clothes while out and about. We highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a convenient location that still feels removed from the hustle and bustle.

With so many food options all around you, 7/11 across the street and amazing shopping one street away. We had the family room with washer/dryer. Having washer dryer in the room is so convenient. The rain shower is incredible. The room is extremely large for Japan standards. Will stay here every single time we visit Osaka. We love it!! Nil. Love everything about it. It’s a moody vibe so some may not like that it’s a darker cool vibe. But we loved it!! Suits Osaka so much.

Shower room has fluted glass, towel had to be kept outside of the door. Fridge and cabinet had a smell and wasn't the cleanest. Room was dark, lighting not the best for makeup. There was a makeup mirror provided which we appreciated. Good hairdryer as well.

- Hannah (10/5): Fabulous hotel in Namba - This is a great hotel in Namba, close to Dotonbori, other landmarks and many shops and restaurants. The staff are so welcoming and helpful. The rooms are a good size and ours came with a washer/dryer which was great. The bed was firm but comfortable. There is a great cafe directly across the road which does fabulous coffee among other things. No complaints from us!

- rickcC9076FF (10/5): Very Nice Hotel beautifully located! - This is a great hotel. Great location near Dotombori area with plenty of restaurants and shops close by. Big rooms and the in room washer/dryer was a treat although ours did break down but was repaired. Nice beds and very helpful staff. Breakfast was outstanding with lots of variety.

- Regina (9/5): Comfortable stay only minutes away from Dotonbori - would stay here again - It was great that the hotel was not as far from the metro stations (maybe 400 meters) as Google had told me (700 meters) It was such a great feeling to be able to check-in with a real human on the other side of the counter and not struggle with a computer screen to submit passport information and make yourself understood because I had booked two rooms. Computer screens at other hotels couldn't really handle that, so this hotel was such a breath of fresh air! I liked that I could open the window a little bit to get fresh air into the room and I liked that the toilet was a separate room from the shower. Room was 1014 in case anyone likes a washing machine in their room in addition to the microwave, fridge and safe. At the elevators in the lobby was a scale to allow guests to weigh their luggage. The hotel was extremely dark, especially the hallways. The elevator's neon lights were too bright for my taste. I was given a room with a washing machine, and while it was a pleasant surprise, I hadn't booked such room. The website hadn't even mentioned that the hotel offered guest laundry. And while it was nice, the room was more costly and I wish I would have been asked if I was ok with paying extra. In the end, I used the washer and it was definitely convenient to avoid to hassle to grab an empty guest washer. The hotel was not the easiest to find initially.

- Callista (9/5): Would highly recommend this place to others. - Rooms are spacious, clean, and neat. The hotel itself is in an area that’s close to the Dotombori street, glico sign, and a variety of shops and restaurants. Breakfast was delicious.

- Fenna (8/5): - De locatie is super en het is erg fijn om een wasmachine op je kamer te hebben. De verlichting is echt heel slecht. Zowel de gang als de kamer is ontzettend donker. Het was echt te donker om bijvoorbeeld mascara aan te brengen of je te scheren. Begrijpelijk fat dit de stijl is van het hotel, maar het lijkt me handig als het je niet belemmerd.

- VandL2711 (10/5): Great sized room and good location hotel - We really liked this hotel. The room was large especially for Japan standards. The location is good, approx 8min walk from the main station. There are alot of shops nearby for convenience. The room was clean and bed was large with an additional sofabed for one of my children. The bathroom had a tub and shower combined in a single seperate bathing room apart from the toilet. The room design was modern although the carpet probably needs modernising a little. We had an issue logging into Netflix on the TV and someone came promptly to fix it. It was extremely quiet which was nice, no outside noise or noisy guests. The breakfast was ok, nothing fancy and was more of a mid-level European style buffet. Check-in service was ok, nothing to shout about, quite subdued and no one greets you when you come into the hotel but small things which are easily overlooked. Enjoyed our stay here
- rosa (4/5): shockingly bad. not worth your money - Best part was only probably its closeness to the main namba area. and probably the front desk fit out and some staff. the rest was average. probably 4/10 of the staff are the only nice ones and are really accomodating and the other 6 are so cbf with their job. stayed for 8 nights and we only asked the room to be fully cleaned and changed 2x none of the times were the room fully cleaned. they will only organize what is visible and noticeable. no vacuum, tissues not refilled. teaspoons that are used will not be washed and u would still see the gunk on it with visible signs that it was only wiped (just leave it dirty next time and I can wash it) this is so unsanitary. we have 3 big luggages 2 massive bag packs and a pram for our kid. please be advised no one will help you at the front desk. u brought it u take it up yourself. this is what this 4 star hotel gives you. paid for a breakfast the next day for my son (he’s free as he is 5 years old). I barely touched anything and have only want to have their “machine coffee” got denied twice and was told it was my fault as i didnt specify i want “cafe latte”. what a joke. the guy even covered the machine with a cloth after i asked. and made coffee for other guest behind the cloth. what on earth. Great that my kid enjoyed their cereals i probably got the value of my money out of that. ive stayed to service apartments and have gotten better customer service than this hotel. some staff will definitely make u feel a foreigner. definitely did not feel at home at all in this hotel.
