But it turned out to be more than just a place to stay, it felt like an experience in itself. There’s something incredibly calming about it. Maybe it’s the cool mountain air, the way the resort sits quietly above the clouds, or simply the people who make you feel so welcomed from the moment you arrive. Every corner feels intentional, with a timeless design that gently takes you back, while the views stretch endlessly across Mount Bromo and the surrounding highlands. At times, it almost felt like we were somewhere in the Swiss Alps, except this is East Java, home to one of the most iconic volcanic landscapes in the world, within the vast Bromo Tengger Semeru National Park. It’s quiet here, slower, a little removed from everything else, and that’s what makes it so special. You find yourself pausing more, noticing more, feeling more. The kind of place where the clouds roll in like a soft blanket and the day fades gently into the horizon. We came here by chance, but somehow it felt like exactly where we were meant to be. Some places you visit, and some places stay with you. This one, we’ll carry with us for a long time.

Coming from someone who lives in the region, I was genuinely impressed by how perfect the weather was in April — cooling aircon weather, fresh, and incredibly refreshing. Felt like I’m in Europe during spring/autumn and this climate made every moment outdoors even more enjoyable. What truly sets this stay apart is how thoughtfully curated the experiences are. The Tengger cultural experience was quite a highlight for me, insightful, authentic, and beautifully presented, giving a deeper appreciation of the heritage and traditions of the area. The picnic breakfast at the savanna was another standout. Dining in a vast open area surrounded by nature after the iconic Bromo sunrise trekking, with that kind of weather, felt surreal. Simple yet incredibly memorable. Highly recommend the spa after the trekking morning. And to end the day, the campervan dinner was such a unique touch — intimate, cozy, and perfectly executed under the stars. Overall, this is more than just a stay. it’s a well-rounded experience that blends nature, culture, and comfort seamlessly. Highly recommended if you’re visiting Bromo and want something beyond sightseeing.

My little human had a great time. The hotel also help to arrange the transport for Bromo trip.. Spa was fantastic.. We really loved the views, the thoughtful way the rooms are appointed and setup - such a big difference compared to the soulless , standardised, big box hotels. The owners and management’s personality truly shines through the curated decorations, small menu, and suite of activities. We really liked the food at Syailendra and Teras and thought the staff was top notch. Highly recommended.

The staff there are very responsive, friendly, pleasing and genuine (sorry I only get the name of Selly). The place is located at the highest altitude so we can enjoy many mountains when the sky is cleared from the haze. The whole landscape is very beautiful designed and taken care. The room is totally clean and enjoyable, no air-con but naturally cool with premium facilities. If I can suggest: more food varieties in the menu.

They even informed me which food in the breakfast buffet that contains my allergen and they notice that we skipped breakfast (to catch sunrise at Bromo) and offered to deliver breakfast to our room once we arrived. Also when we need medical aid, they immediately respond to our needs and drove us to the nearest medical center. The place is so serene and perfect if you’re looking for tranquility. It also makes us fitter since we need to take a long walk (and stairs) to get to our room. Foods are tasty and our attic room is lovely. Recommended place to visit.

Every member of the staff we encountered, from reception to concierge to housekeeping, was not only courteous but genuinely attentive, going above and beyond to ensure we felt welcome and well cared for. A special mention must go to Arvin. She showed us around the property and took beautiful photos of us for memories. Despite her being new (only a week with the hotel I believe) her knowledge of the hotel is impressive. She really won us over with her sweet and gentle manner. In addition, we booked the Sunset Alfresco as celebration for my sister’s birthday. Unfortunately it rained and we were so disappointed, but the staff worked their magic to make it happen. We really appreciate it! Thank you to the entire team for making our stay so special—we look forward to returning and highly recommend this beautiful property.

The environment was beautiful, clean and calming, but what made our experience exceptional was the warm hospitality from the staff. From arrival to checkout, we observed great teamwork and consistently polite service from everyone, including the restaurant team. Every interaction felt genuine and pleasant. A special thank you to Alvira at the front desk, who was extremely kind, patient and approachable. She responded to our queries clearly and always with a smile, making us feel very welcomed and taken care of. We would also like to compliment Rendi from the restaurant, who served us during dinner and again at breakfast. He was friendly, attentive and very polite, and he patiently answered our questions. His service added to the enjoyment of our meals. Another thoughtful gesture we appreciated was how the staff checked the room before we left. They found a booklet of doa and surahs that I had accidentally left behind and informed us immediately. We are truly grateful for their attentiveness and honesty. Overall, it was a wonderful stay with excellent service, warm hospitality and great teamwork. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Bromo! 🌿✨

Alle Menschen, die hier arbeiten versprühen eine Freude und Hilfsbereitschaft. Das Hotel eignet sich sehr gut um den Bromo-Nationalpark zu besichtigen. Touren werden auch angeboten. Neben unserem Zimmer führte eine kleine Strasse vorbei, bei der in regelmässigen Abständen laute Motorfahrzeuge den steilen Hügel hinauffuhren. Dies war sehr gut und störend im Zimmer zu hören.

Mr. Boris, the GM, Pak Ega and the entire team made us feel so welcome, and the staff were incredibly kind and attentive, especially when my husband wasn’t feeling well. I went up the mountain alone for the sunrise, and they took great care of me — it was magical, followed by a lovely picnic on the savannah. Special thanks to our butler Kak Louise, who was so sweet and helpful throughout our stay. The chefs were amazing, and the cooking class was such fun. We made rawon, ayam betutu and pisang ontel ontel. Our daughter Cara Rose adored the kids’ area, which was a mini theme park! We stayed in a lovely suite, loved the cool crisp air, great coffee, and wonderful spa. Enjoyed a wonderful bbq by the fire. Plataran Bromo truly has it all — nature, culture, warmth, and heart. Loved the resort’s deep respect for the customs of the Tengger people. We will definitely be back.

Our Platinum Suite was beautifully decorated to commemorate our anniversary and it was sparkling clean! The environment is so serene and peaceful too. On top of that, the services rendered by the Butlers Lintang, Cindy, Ega, Ragil and Louise was impeccable! Communication with the Butlers began a week before our stay to ensure that everything goes well. I was truly heartened by the extra miles extended to us! We also had the Campervan BBQ Picnic served by Alfin who skilfully prepared and served us the BBQ to perfection, not forgetting the delish local coffee! On the second night, we had the Romantic Dinner at the glasshouse surrounded by gorgeous floras. Wrapped up the stay with a comforting Volcanic Bromo Stone Massage by Fina from Padma Spa. The accommodation, facilities and food are of excellence. I have to once again praise that the services provided are top notch & efficient! Not forgetting the interactions we had with the GM Mr. Boris who ensures that the guests are all at a 100% the moment he steps in morning. My husband & I are truly pleased. The room is clean, there are quite some activities for children like the attraction park, horse riding, and decorating donuts (although I would appreciate a guide for this activity so the children can be more engaged). Besonders morgens, wenn der Nebel über den Hängen schwebt, fühlt man sich wie in einer anderen Welt! Besonders gut gefallen hat uns die Liebe zum Detail und die besonders schön angelegten Gärten. Das General Management und das gesamte Personal sind einfach sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Auch die Lage ist perfekt für Ausflüge zum Mount Bromo. Der frühe Aufstieg zum Aussichtspunkt ist bequem erreichbar – und das Hotel organisiert alles perfekt, damit man den berühmten Sonnenaufgang stressfrei genießen kann. Wir haben einen Ausflug im Jeep mit Frühstück in der Caldera gebucht und das war wundervoll. Einfach eine 12/10! Streichelzoo & Vögel in Käfigen muss nach unserem Dafürhalten nicht sein

Built into the hillside, the views are amazing and the gardens beautifully landscaped, with lots to see and do. We stayed in a suite which included a welcome massage, afternoon tea and cocktail hour and we were very well looked after by the fantastic butler service of Ega, Cindy and the team. In fact, all the staff were super, always ready to help but never pushy or over attentive. A great place to stay especially when visiting Mount Bromo.

In August 2025, we enjoyed a resort tour guided by Ms. Sekar from Marketing during our stay and pre-wedding session. On October 5th, 2025, we held our wedding celebration at Plataran Bromo and stayed once again with our family afterward. The overall service was truly impressive. A stay at Plataran Bromo not only delights the eyes with breathtaking mountain views but also provides comfort through the warm and professional hospitality of the resort team. Our highest recommendation goes to the signature dish — Ayam Dharmawangsa.

The kids loved the billiard table and playing against their dad. The resort had a very antique design to it and it looked amazing. The resort was great the afternoon tea was just right, but it was missing one thing, a pool! (And maybe a cat too). But overall the general manager and overall staff was very welcoming. The jam making was really fun and the chef was very nice. The toilet had a weak jet, but the shower was very warm and nice after a day of cold exploring. The sunrise experience was very fun, especially during the jeep ride. The savannah picnic and hiking up Mount Bromo was amazing and watching the smoke rise from the crater was very fun (even though the gate had huge holes in it). But i loved the overall vacation to here and it was a great experience with the family. 5/5 would come back

The kids had a very pleasant time here. Playing outdoor playground, they even had an amusement park to entertain the children. Feeding the animals is also their highlight. Dont miss the sunrise experience. Even the kids enjoyed it even though they had to wake up at 2am in the morning. Riding the jeep and watching the sunrise in 4 degrees is an unforgettable one. Should try all their packages. My fav goes to the tengger caldera and the camper van. But the jiva devi picnic lunch has the best menus. - Amélie (8/5): Hôtel perché dans les nuages - L’endroit est absolument magnifique! Perché dans la montagne c’est assez mystique. La chambre est confortable, c’est une chambre classique sans l’effet wahou mais qui avait tous les équipements nécessaires ! Le personnel est adorable (gros point fort) ! Nous avons fait également appel à eux pour l’excursion Bromo et là rien à dire c’était exceptionnel. La nourriture est très bonne. Malheureusement, l’hôtel est extrêmement bruyant. De la musique joue jusqu’à très tard dans la nuit, ce qui est regrettable pour un établissement qui accueille principalement des touristes se levant à 2h du matin pour l’excursion du mont Bromo. De plus, la lumière sur la terrasse, impossible à éteindre, nous a beaucoup gênés. Il est sans doute possible de demander à l’hôtel de la couper, mais nous ne l’avons pas fait.

- C-Z-1982 (10/5): Superb location, exceptional service - Which stayed here with another couple for two nights, while visiting Bromo Tengerr Semeru (amazing). The property has spectacular views when there are no clouds coming up the valley, is well appointed, and provides memorable service. During our visit, management noticed that there would be a large wedding close to our room which likely would cause unnecessary noise and decided to move us to a (upgrade!) suite. Later, we were able to meet Boris, the general manager, and expressed our gratitude. He shared the importance of ensuring a memorable stay for his guests and how he generally went about executing on this strategy. Well we told him, he had succeeded. Finally, a note to acknowledge the Butler staff: Ega, Cindy, Ragil, Louise, and Lintang. They made our stay truly special. What a team, what a hotel, what a service. Highly recommended!
- Cherylmuztravel (8/5): Great experience full of pleasant surprises! - We went there after visiting Tumpak Sewu Waterfall and were lucky to reach there in time for their last resort tour at 5pm. Their sunset point was stunning, and kids would adore their playground tat comes with animal feeding and swings. They also have picnic packages available. We were then brought to their very own glasshouse which housed many flowers. Do let them know if you are celebrating an important occasion as they will help to decorate your room. The dinner at their restaurant was pleasant, and we had a chat with their operations manager and restaurant manager. Service has to be their forte, besides the hotel itself which boasts many pleasant surprises. The only issue which bothered us was that a wedding event (with loud music and singing) went on till 12 midnight, and we had to wake up by 2am for our Mount Bromo tour. We couldn’t shut the windows as there was no air conditioning, and there was a mosquito that added to our woes. Their buffet breakfast spread was good, so do make an effort to be back before 10am if not you will have to settle for breakfast set (either American or Indonesian) delivered to ur room.

- nimasa2019 (8/5): Best stay in East Java - Bromo - A very well maintained and beautiful stay in bromo area. Food is delicious, staffs are very helpful and friendly, very clean spaces with beautiful gardens. Spacious room in executive suites and luxury in every area. I’d like to thank especially to Ari from restaurant who help us with questions and serving the food, Julia from front desk who took us to the hotel tour and Luise from executive lounge who helped us check in professionally. Great massage too and I think this place can be for everyone from single, couple and family with children (they have big playground and animals to feed). Excellent customer service overall from the staffs there. The only down is the sound proofing in the room.
- Meander13560522999 (10/5): best place to stay at bromo - best place and all the butler willing to do an extra miles to the customer. they even have a place for feeding the sheep, rabbit, and even huge playground! also there are sunset place as well
- Williamluyau (10/5): 120% hotel and mountain experience - The experience is amazing. From the moment we step foot in the Plataran Bromo we feel welcomed. The amazingly beautiful atmosphere and the following tour is so nicely arranged. With super friendly tour guide Arvin, we went to beautiful gardens, farms and playgrounds. Feeding fish, sheep, rabbits and horses are so much fun. And we even ride horse there. The stay is so enjoyable and food+ sunset view is unforgettable! Thank you Plataran!
