The grounds are so well-kept, with so much greenery and flowers – it's a joy to walk around. And the food – that's a whole other story! Everything is so delicious, you could just lick your fingers! The juices are freshly squeezed, the real deal, not watered down. The local rice wine in the clay pot is simply magical. A photogenic infinity pool, a warm and clean lake. Cats on the premises. It's better to come for a few days. You feel right at home, only better! Highly recommend it to anyone looking for peace and true relaxation.

The hotel doesn't offer any transportation, other than a 20 dolar taxi one way. On top of it, there is no t.v; you get loud music from outside instead, the resort's restaurant is terrible. So you are stuck there

The prices in the restaurant are quite high, food orders weren't always served together (for a group of 7 people), and unfortunately there were 2-3 mistakes in the invoicing (again, for a group of 7 people) which I found a bit strange for such a high class resort. However, in the end everything was settled and sorted out.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. I would recommend it to anyone. The resort is located some distance from the villages of Mai Chau, with a drive to Ban Lac taking about 30-35 minutes. If you head in the opposite direction towards Ba Khan, you’ll travel along the lake, enjoying beautiful views of the water and the small islands in Hoa Binh Lake.

Nous avons payé 90-100 euros environs pour une chambre vue sur la piscine et le lac, spacieuse et très bien équipée. C’est un coin magnifique, dépaysant… Mais nous nous demandons si ce n’est pas un peu cher par rapport à d’autres coins de paradis où nous avons dormi tout autant époustouflants. D’autant plus que la nourriture du restaurant n’est pas toujours excellente et chère. Nous avons été déçues d’un plat de nouilles et d’une soupe de légumes. Mais nous nous sommes régalées avec les plats végétariens que nous recommandons : rouleaux de printemps, nems, riz, salade de banane papaye. Le personnel est sinon très gentil, aux petits soins. Ça reste un superbe endroit ! La nourriture du restaurant n’était pas toujours très bonne et surtout assez chère. Privilégiez les plats végétariens à la fin de la carte que nous avons adoré.

• Vu (10/5): A Peaceful Lakeside Retreat with Amazing Service - I absolutely loved my stay at this resort! It’s the perfect retreat for anyone seeking peace and quiet, far from the noise of the city. The secluded location offers total relaxation, with only the occasional ferry passing by—but the sound is brief and doesn’t take away from the serene atmosphere. The views of the lake are simply breathtaking, especially at sunrise and sunset. It’s an ideal spot to unwind and enjoy nature. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, always making sure everything was perfect. On top of that, the restaurant served tasty food (8/10) for lunch and dinner menus. We did not need to find any dinning place outside of the resort during the 2 days we spent there. However, breakfast was just at average level. A special mention to Dinh Thi Linh, who we encountered at the restaurant—such a responsible and friendly staff member, ensuring everything was just right. If you’re looking for a tranquil getaway with stunning scenery, excellent service, and great food, I highly recommend this resort!

• Emma (8/5): Truly a hideaway, a beautiful resort but isolated. - The hotel is in a beautiful environment, overall very clean and well kept with stunning gardens. The food off the paid menu was very tasty and they have a mix of Asian and Western options. The views on a clear day are STUNNING. This property is not in Mai Chau village, it’s a 1/2 hour drive away and the taxis are expensive. Dont stay here unless you are happy to hire a scooter. The breakfast was limited down due to the hotel being quiet, on the first day we arrived it was a full buffet and then from day 2 onwards it changed to eggs on toast or soup. The pool had algae on the infinity side which is difficult to access due to being a ledge so you could tell it was not cleaned.
• Mariah (5/5): Did Not Meet Expectations - Not really a "Resort" or "Hideaway" - The lake view is beautiful and the infinity pool was nice. Staff were fine and spoke little English. The room was pretty clean. Do yourself a favor and RENT A SCOOTER from Mr. Chung Lan in town. It was nice to be able to scoot around on our own, have food in town, visit the sunset point, go to the hot springs, etc. High pricing sets a certain expectation and it was definitely not met here. Unfortunately we were overall disappointed by our stay. We expected resort-style serenity, food, and service but were met with a very loud ferry terminal next door along with mediocre service and food. After travelling Vietnam for 3 weeks, this was not worth the price relative to other stays. There weren't many people staying here or having breakfast, so I was a bit worried about the freshness of everything. It was an average breakfast, nothing beyond what we got at other places for a fraction of the cost. Hot food was all fried stuff, but the fresh omlettes were nice - just make sure buddy cooks it fully. The lunch and dinner food at the restaurant is overpriced and portions are small. No daily specials, etc. yet the prices are that of a high-end restaurant. It appeared that they were more interested in catering to the tour groups who stopped by the resort for lunch with a view. Also, they didn't have fresh coconuts for coconut water which was surprising for a resort. The noise level from the ferry terminal was unexpected. Not only do boats start coming and going as early as 6:30am with loud music, there are guys playing pool all day (glad they're having a good time) which was disruptive to our experience by the pool. We stayed here to get away from the noise. Way too close to the terminal. Also, there were nails sticking out of the back of several pool chairs, so watch your fingers!
• Brigette (10/5): Rest and relax - We enjoyed the peaceful nature of the location. It was a nice little escape from the hustle and bustle of Hanoi. Some of the menu items were not available. We asked for Creme Broulee every meal time to no avail. However what we did eat was delicious.
• Paul (9/5): Superb - We loved our 3 day stay here. For four star at this price it is pretty good. Nice rooms and comfy bed. The pool and views were lush, the pool bar could be tendered a bit more but no worries. Massage is good, food and buffet breakfast is tasty and the staff are really lovely. Bit out of the way so will need a taxi but it is worth it You only get 1 small bottle each of water free in room per day, so possibly bring loads of water if you don't want to pay. If there was free water and we missed it, my bad

• Robert (6/5): Beautiful views but not much to do. - Beautiful peaceful location in remote Vietnam with epic views of the mountains. Beautiful pool and gardens. Not many tourists. This is one of the best ways to see the picturesque mountains and rice fields. Very few activities or excursions were offered by the hotel. The staff greeted us upon our arrival but didn’t really explain the facilities, activities, and sights at the hotel or even the local area. We relied on our taxi driver from Hanoi to show us around otherwise we wouldn’t have had a clue what was on our doorstep. I don’t think the staff were used to have English guests as they really struggled to understand us, even with the help of Google translate. We were not very well tended to and everything seemed like a lot of effort. This wasn’t the hospitality we had expected from a premium resort. If you’re travelling from Hanoi it is a 4 hour drive, depending on weather, so not the easiest to access. We were lucky to befriend a taxi driver who was willing to drive us there and back for a sizeable fee.

• Lexine (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing food, helpful staff, great for a few days of relaxation deep in Vietnam but still close to Hanoi. Aircon and fan came in handy. Spacious rooms.
• Roberta (6/5): Failed retreat as the spa was closed for renovation. But luckily nature and beautiful landscape saved the day! - The infinity pool and the landscape with the view over the lake are definitely the best part of the resort. We booked the bungalow by the pool and it was really spacious with a nice terrace For the price I would expect more attention to details, the room was huge but a bit empty. It was troublesome to fill the bathtub as there’s no switch for hot/cold water. The most disappointing part is that their spa was closed for renovation, and there was no mention to it till we reached. We booked the resort as we were expecting a full relaxation retreat so getting to know on the spot - and with no other alternatives offered - was quite disappointing. The bikes they offer for free are destroyed and cannot be used on those mountain roads. Lastly (as you can read in many comments), the food at their restaurant is not great, quite greasy and very expensive. Rather go to some home stays around for dinner if you are a bit more adventurous and flexible
• Pawel (7/5): Incredible views, underwhelming facilities. - The views are just incredible and that is the main reason to stay there. The rooms were very spacious and comfortable. The staff were helpful and attentive. Kayaks were super nice (although expensive). It is a great place for one or two nights. The food was really bad and very expensive, and it is a pity in a region famous for great cuisine. Unfortunately, there's nowhere else to go to eat so you are trapped in a resort where their disappointing restaurant is the only choice. I am surprised that the resort is not doing anything about it, concerning the number of negative feedback. With a different restaurant and some slight renovations, this place would be a gem.
• Watcharapon (10/5): A hiddem gem in a unique location - Tge location of this place is very unique. I have stayed with many hotel by the lake, but it is very different when your hotel is on the hill surrounded by the lake. The windflow and the energy of this place is amazing. You don't need to go anywhere, the hotel itself can be the destination. The place also feel old school in the very best way, reminding me of memories when I was young. The Food, Expensive and does not taste good. Besides, the food at the hotel is the only option you have as there is nothing around.
