- Julie (10/5): Absolutely top drawer location and accommodation and our hosts were positively delightful - Breakfast was fabulously prepared. A lovely setting and such friendly service.
- Melanie (10/5): Short walk to town, cleans d friendly. Nice breakfast. - Our second time staying at Charnwood guest house. Free parking behind. Always nice and clean and friendly welcome. Nice breakfast . We have the twin room. Not too far down into the town, might be a bit steep back for any elderly. Nothing
- Dale (9/5): Fantastic stay by the beach. Ruth and Phil were very friendly and informative of the local area topped off with a delici - Great sea view, comfortable and clean N/A
- Chris (10/5): Lovely Lyme Regis - Ruth and Phil are excellent hosts! From the moment you arrive, a very cheerful warm welcome. Charnwood has everything possible you need for your stay. Our room was spotlessly , beautiful clean bedding, extras of chocolates with tea/coffee making facilities. Breakfast was superb, freshly cooked to order by Ruth, with Phil on hot drinks, toast and other duties. Parking on site is such a bonus, and a very pleasant stroll into town alongside the Lym.
Thank you both very much for a very comfortable and happy stay. The fact we had to leave. But will return!
- Kate Baldwin (10/5): -
- Ivana (8/5): Angenehm - Das gute Frühstück, und die sehr freundlichen Inhaber Etwas kleines Zimmer
- Pamela (10/5): Very comfortable and will, hopefully come back - Ideally situated to walk to the town centre. The accommodation is exceptionally clean and tidy and comfortable. Everyone was very friendly.
- T.C.King (10/5): Top notch accommodation. - Comfortable, spotlessly clean, well appointed single room. Wonderful hosts. Delicious breakfast. Short, pleasant, riverside walk to town and beach. Highly recommended. Nothing, all good.
- Lindsey (9/5): Phil, Ruth and their Guest House were a big part of making our Jurassic Coast trip so memorable - The locations was great, just a 5-minute walk along a picturesque river into old town Lyme Regis. After lots of self-catering trips it was great to stay in a comfy B&B, be treated to a home-cooked breakfast each morning and enjoy the company of Phil, Ruth and other guests.
- Elaine (10/5): A lovely mini vacation - It was very welcoming I cannot think of anything I didn’t like
- David (10/5): Comfortable, well located and good value for money. Strongly recommended. - This was an excellent guest house. The owners were friendly and helpful and the location was very good; it is a short and very picturesque walk into the centre of town. Definitely good value for money, I would recommend highly. Everything was good.
- Chris (9/5): - Lovely attentive hosts. Comfortable bed, good nights sleep. Good size tv. On site Parking. Lovely breakfast.
- Karen (10/5): Excellent accommodation - We had a 3 night stay, when we arrived we were early so were fully expecting to just park up and return later in the day but we were met by Ruth as we arrived and she said the room was ready so we could put our belongings in straight away, the location is well within easy walking distance to the town where there's plenty of places to eat and drink, our room was very clean with comfortable beds, tea and coffee making facilities, the owners are a lovely couple making you feel well at home and make a lovely breakfast, you just sit and get waited on, everything was perfect, we really can not fault a thing, we would definitely recommend this B&B. There's not much not to like about Lyme regis, the only thing we would say is beware of the seagulls! They will swoop down and steal the food straight out of your hand if your not paying attention.
- Turrell (10/5): - Everything Nothing
- Hayley (10/5): 😊 - Great place to stay , fab location close to Lyme Regis beachfront .

- Rachel (9/5): Lovely B&B in great location. - The hosts, Phil and Ruth, were wonderfully welcoming, helpful, and served an excellent breakfast.
Location includes parking, and is a short and pretty walk along the stream into Lyme Regis town centre and beaches.
We stayed in the twin suite, which was roomy, comfortable, and ensuite shower, with basin in the room, meant the arrangements were very convenient and spotlessly clean. Liked it all.
- Anne (9/5): Pleasant environment and cordial service - Friendly hosts, good breakfast, nice view from room, pleasant walk into town which was not too far, too busy or too steep, good parking. The room was smaller than I would have liked and the bed was rather spongy.
Whilst I appreciated the bed being made and the room tidied for our second night, it would have been useful to know this was going to happen. A cushion that I had been using was removed as was the foot of bed cover which was a bit inconvenient.
- Jenny (10/5): - Lovely location with nice walk into Lyme Regis
- karen (10/5): - Easy to get to. Clean and the people were lovely.
- Richard (9/5): -

We loved the location too. You can walk by the river into the heart of town with its good range of restaurants, cafes and shops. - Nicola (9/5): -
- Andre (9/5): Perfect for a short break in Lyme Regis. - Excellent location to explore Lyme Regis and surroundings. It's a ten minute walk along a picturesque small river down to the beach and the shops. Parking on-site is very convenient. The hosts are lovely and serve an excellent breakfast according to your wishes. No complaints worth mentioning. Had we stayed for more than a few days, a larger room with a desk would have been preferable.

- Sarah (9/5): Lovely simple but well appointed guesthouse, reasonably priced - On site parking, at a premium in Lyme Regis though a tight squeeze
Very friendly hosts
Nice walk to town without too many hills
Guest fridge Felt sl bamboozled into choosing full English breakfast on the first day before I was ready and hadn’t assessed the other options available. Perhaps a little more explanation on the first morning
- Sharon (9/5): Phil and Ruth are wonderful hosts and very welcoming. - The cooked breakfast was really good and cooked perfectly. The location was was just right for us - a short walk by a stream onto the seafront avoided the hills! We also had a glimpse of the sea from our room. We would have liked more space to hang our clothes as we had packed to cover all weathers.

it was peaceful and relaxing during the night, no disturbances or anything of the sort. lovely.

- Lisa (10/5): Absolutely perfect place to stay! - A perfect place to stay for a visit to Lyme Regis. We had a twin room and stayed for 3 nights- our room was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed including a great shower and very comfortable beds. Cooked breakfast in the pretty breakfast room each morning was spot on with lots of options to eat and drink. Our hosts were friendly and very helpful with lots of suggestions and information about the local area. We arrived by train and the bus from Axminster was quick and easy stopping just a 5 min walk away so a great choice if you're travelling via public transport. The location really was great for us, less than a 10 min walk along the river and past pretty houses and shops down to the beach. 100% would recommend this property and we will stay here again when we next return to Lyme Regis. Nothing at all!
- Karolina (10/5): Perfect 🤩 stay - Where do I start? Charnwood Guest House is an absolute gem. The property is beautiful and perfectly located—just a short, scenic walk from the beach and the heart of Lyme Regis. Our room was cozy, comfortable, and simply perfect. We slept with the window open both nights, enjoying the fresh sea air, the peaceful chirping of birds, and the occasional call of seagulls—it was idyllic.
The hosts were incredibly warm, kind, and welcoming. They even went out of their way to store our bikes safely in their garage, which we really appreciated.
Breakfast was a real highlight. Although we rarely eat breakfast, we couldn’t resist the tempting aroma of freshly brewed coffee and the delicious bacon -it was the perfect start to the day.
We completely fell in love with Lyme Regis, and if we’re lucky enough to return, we’ll definitely be staying at Charnwood again. Highly recommended! N/A
- Jacqui (10/5): Very pleasant and comfortable stay. - I arrived late due to disruption with my train journey, but communication with Phil and Ruth was very good throughout and they were very welcoming when I did finally arrive. My room was very clean and comfortable and it had everything that I needed. Breakfast was very good too. Phil and Ruth were very attentive and happy to help with any enquiries about the local area.
- Erica (10/5): A most enjoyable time. - Breakfast good and location perfect Nothing
- Susan (9/5): Superb -
- Craig (10/5): Greats place to stay and Lyme Regis is wonderful for a weekend break. - Great breakfast, wonderful hosts and great value for money. A nice easy walk along the river Lym into town to miss all the hills. Just approximately 50 metres down a steep hill to the footpath along the river If coming in from the west then the satnav tries to turn you into a one way street. You need to drop to the next road and come back up. Parking is tight but manageable.
- Anne (9/5): A lovely stay - Phil and Ruth were lovely. They were very welcoming and helpful. Everything was very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious.
We particularly enjoyed walking from their house along the River Lim path into Lyme Regis for supper.
I was with my elderly parents. Phil and Ruth gave us great ideas for places to visit and provided excellent local knowledge to advise us about level walks, suitable for my parents Nothing

- Gillian (8/5): Very comfortable lovely hosts - Our hosts were knowledgeable and obliging. Breakfast was lovely. We didn’t like the road noise
- Young (9/5): Great accommodation with an excellent breakfast in Lyme Regis. - Charnwood guest house is in an excellent location. It is a very pleasant easy walk along a little river past some historic cottages and a mill into Lyme Regis. You can also walk the other way to Uplyme which was lovely too. We preferred being on the outskirts and walking into Lyme Regis. The parking was really useful, and I am really glad that I booked accommodation with parking. Our room (room 4) was very compact with a small double bed but was very well appointed and it had everything you need (including tea and coffee making facilities). Although small, it was absolutely fine for a couple of nights. Our room also had views of Lyme Regis, which was a pleasant surprise. The freshly cooked breakfasts were delicious. Finally, Ruth and Phil were fantastic hosts and gave us lots of really useful information about Lyme Regis. We were very pleased with our choice of accommodation and I would not hesitate to recommend Charnwood guest house. Nothing.
- Geoffrey (8/5): Lovely, friendly hosts, would certainly stay again. - Not being a huge breakfast eater, I requested a bacon sandwich instead. Excellent choice! The full breakfasts being consumed around me did look really good. N/A
- Fiona (9/5): A Wonderful Stay - Charnwood is a lovely B and B in an excellent location. Ruth and Phil are wonderful hosts with an abundance of local knowledge and information. Cleanliness is of a high standard. Breakfast is lovely, with choices to suit all dietary requirements. Car parking is available at the B and B. A short walk into town along the riverside is a must. I would recommend Charnwood to family and friends. Leaving.
