Guest Reviews
- Nanette (10/5): - Relaxing little garden for the outdoor thermal and Caldarium - a highlight
Thermal pools are a tonic!
Comfortable, vintage rooms and friendly staff.
- Frans (10/5): - This hotel, it's owner and the staff are very special. I stayed here during my trip to the Spanish MotoGP and could not have found a more welcoming home for the weekend. The reception from Carmen at the front desk was in faultless English, super friendly and professional . She immediately arranged "special & secure" parking for my motorcycle ...in the private parking area of the owner, Señor Enrique, next to his super luxury Mercedes-Benz ! I really appreciated that, thank you Mr. Enrique . At the bar and on the patio next to the pool , the world's most hospitable host, Nil, will do anything to make your leisure time special and enjoyable. Again, his service comes with a smile and in 100% English . My room was very large, super comfortable and the bathroom felt luxurious . Dinners were excellent , no need to go look for a restaurant and that is a bonus after a long day out. The hotel is situated right in the heart of old La Garriga, which provides a great opportunity to stroll along the cobbled street to the public piazza where there are ample places to have a drink and watch the local population "do their thing". Lots of quaint little shops around as well. Hotel Termes La Garriga is in my opinion a wonderful place to stay, out of the rat-race, but close enough to everything the Barcelona area offers. Definitely my "Spanish home" when I attend the MotoGP to see the Marquez brothers in action !
- Christopher (10/5): Great spa break - Spa was super relaxing and the hotel could not do enough to help when I had a last minute issue with my suit before a wedding. Rooms where great and air con was strong for the 35 degree heat outside.
- Mike (10/5): - Pool was thermal, as was the room's bath! The garden was in flower and perfumed by jasmine. Hotel has some years but is well-kept.
Great ice cream shop next door.
- Jane (4/5): - We stayed 2 nights at this hotel and overall found it extremely disappointing. It is central but on a partially pedestrianised road which is blocked to traffic for much of the day. There are apparently 3 parking spaces at the hotel but seem always full. The hotel provides no prior information about access and, once there, grudgingly directed us to a car park which was a distance away and full.
The room we were given was in the roof with tiny windows and generally scruffy paintwork neglected curtains coming off the tracks etc We were puzzled as ‘standard doubles. On the hotel website are described as having large triple glazed windows. The pools are small and the thermal water is warm but the facilities need renovation.
Breakfast was awful. No service on day one, we had to find someone to order hot drinks. The food was of poor quality. On day two the only waitress was determinably sorting cutlery and ignored us. We enquired about drinks and about fruit, yogurt and croissants as there were none of these (there was the day before). She shrugged and said there was none, breakfast service still had an hour to go. My husband walked to the reception to enquire further at which point the waitress dashed to reception and then out to the bakery to buy croissants she then proceeded to fill up the plates of food on the buffet.
Oh and there’s one pillow provided which is extremely hard!
- Lisa (10/5): - The hotel is located in a quiet but beautiful town - not full of international tourists, so you feel that you get a taste of the real Catalonia. Perfect location in summer, as the air is fresh at night. Also including here and the nearby town Caldes, plenty of wonderful tapas restaurants to try. I also loved the old style of the hotel and the rooms are also very comfortable and large. Loved breakfast - they had a range of interesting meats and delicious pastries and bread. The thermal pools were relaxing and a lovely treat. A great stay overall.
- Kristen (10/5): - I booked this property on Orbitz late in the week and the hotel did not have record of my reservation when I arrived. I called Orbitz and received outstanding customer service from Ibrahim. The staff at the hotel, especially the owner, went out of his way to be accommodating to me. I cannot say enough about the personal attention provided at this hotel. The hotel has a thermal springs spa and pool and a lovely dining room. The town is so peaceful and quaint and right on the edge of the Pyrenees. I would highly recommend this hotel. Enjoy!
- Urpes (8/5): To people with allergies - Excellent service concerning my food allergy problems. Very professional waiters. No problems or delays when I had to eat alone in my room.
I felt at home.
Very nice garden and excellent hot water swimming pool.
I'll stay there twice a year.
- 136jaumem (2/5): Bad experience - We stayed there for a yoga retreat. The order vegetarian food that was really bad. There were two parties. A marriage party in the afternoon. Then a birthday party in the evening that last until midnight.
We could get relaxed with all this very loud music even begging respect to the staff.
Awful.
- Operez79 (8/5): Good place to relax - We enjoyed a relaxing weekend at Hotel Termes La Garriga. It is located in the town center, near to the railway station.
It has a good spa, with two hot thermal water pools (one of them is outdoors), wet and dry sauna and other facilities.
Maybe the restaurant is not as good as expected, but it is ok.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The location was excellent to wander around the best part of towns, the little squares and cobbled streets....and it is a pretty setting with the garden and pool.
- tonitone (8/5): Pleasant stay - Spent 1 night here and we really enjoyed it. They allowed us to check in at 10am and check out the next day at 12:45pm, so we were really able to enjoy the facilities. Check in process was smooth and efficient, the rooms are spacious and clean. Huge bathroom too, it all feels like a stately old hotel that hasn’t been renovated, but in a good way. Beds were not massively comfortable (beds plural because we got 2 singles pushed together) and my wife spotted mound in the shower. Very quiet though, even though it’s on the Main Street in La Garriga, 5 minute walk from train station. They even provide bathrobes and flip flops for your use during your stay. Fridge in the room, which was an added bonus. The treatments are the highlight: the thermal circuit is included in every hotel stay and cost 30 euros per person per day on its own if you weren’t staying at the hotel. Involves multiple pools (outdoor and indoor), as well as a sauna and a Turkish bath, as well as other colder stations (frigidarium and cold wash for feet). There are also areas to relax and the whole thing takes around 2 hours at a leisurely pace, longer if the sun is out and you want to hang out at the outdoor pool. It’s worth the cost of the room alone and is revitalizing.
We loved it here, Eva the receptionist made our stay great, she was so helpful. Defo recommended.
- Laurent (10/5): Nice hidden hotel - Located in the village of La Garriga, close to the customer we were visiting that day, we were suprised to find this lovely hotel downtown. Nice home made breakfast with local products and comfortable room. I'll come back.
- JordiCiT (8/5): Correct with small details to improve - Pleasant atmosphere, with vintage air that gives it a certain charm.
Our room was spacious and bright. Air conditioning not excessive but sufficient given that we have been in full heat wave. Professional and nice staff. Clean. Good breakfast - content and service.
The wellness pack we have chosen is "take a breath" very recommendable. The physiotherapist was excellent in the afternoon and no so in the morning which is unfortunately so common in spa places (I don't understand why)
Little details to be improved: 1) unpleasant odors in the elevator, probably due to poor ventilation and coco mat on the floor, not suitable for high-traffic lifts if it is not renewed often. 2) incidents repeated in two days of lack of cold water, both in the thermal area and in the room, arriving only high temperature water, probably due to a recurring problem of regulation, quickly resolved by the maintenance service every time, 4) pavement too dangerous for water areas, 3) even when the cold water works, there is not a good temperature contrast. Not one of the showers and / or pools in the thermal area is really cold. Maybe the high outside temperatures could justify it.
We will return in winter.
- Johanna (10/5): Highly recommend! - If you are looking for a quiet, comfortable hotel in La Garriga, this is it. It is located nicely close to the trainstation, but they also have parking spots. Hotel is small, rooms are all different, lovely place to have a breakfast either by the pool or the lovely restaurant. If there's something I can complain, is that the beds were really hard and the IC did dot work so well, but other than that, very very nice stay.
- Conxita (8/5): Correcte - Correcte i acollidora.Molt agradable la zona d'esmorzar i la piscina i termes.
- jugs58 (8/5): Comfort in La Garriga - Our room was very spacious and comfortable with a beautiful view over the thermal pool and spa. There was more than enough cupboard space and the style of the room befitted the type of hotel that it is. It is a short within walking distance from the train station and in the heart of the City.
The only disappointment for us was that the weather did not play along as we would have loved to have sat outside around the thermal pool and just relaxed.
We did invite guests for dinner and had an excellent meal with a good choice of wines.
All in all a great experience in a good hotel.
- 525niyac (10/5): wellness - love this small town La Garriga spain.. wonderful hotel in the centre, youenter from the street, and it opens out, quite big... outdoor indoor thermal pools, massage/wellness.. super friendly and helpful.
Fabulous terrace, our room overlooked it with a small balcony for us and the dog!!
various massages and treatments or just swim, buffet breakfast good..
