La cama en la habitación individual, muy pequeña y en general la habitación muy poco confortable con una escalera que no es muy cómoda. Al llegar encontramos las cortinas subidas en un día de calor intenso, quizás recomendaría que se bajen, la opción es un ventilador que no soluciona mucho

• Annette (3/5): - This place is pretty depressing, with low levels of hygiene, including mould in the bathroom, paint chipping off the walls and a general feeling of being rundown - but not actually cheap! There's no table or desk to eat/work so you have to use the common areas. As a solo woman traveler - this is not appealing. It is an old house and you can hear everything from your neighbours - its super loud. There weren't any toiletries.

• Shonac (8/5): Mixed feelings - Location was great, room was comfortable, kitchen was equipped with everything needed for a short city break Chair in room had a broken leg so I don't think it would have been safe to sit on, although I didn't risk it. Kitchen was in need of a bit of redecoration and although the fridge was spotless and empty it smelt really awful, but not sure what of. As a single female I didn't feel 100% safe as there was some exceptionally loud, seemingly not altogether enjoyable sex act taking place in my neighbours room. Not saying it felt like I'd accidentally booked into a knocking shop but it was unsettling. 😂

• Toma (9/5): Tutto ottimo - È un luogo molto carino, se non si hanno particolari esigenze nel centro città. Senza contare che ci sono mezzi continuamente e la fermata è molto vicina al posto. I proprietari sono stati molto disponibili e gentili. Camera e bagno sono perfettamente puliti e il luogo di per sé è accogliente. Il letto è molto comodo ed è un bel bonus point! Intorno ci sono anche negozi dove fare la spesa e un bar ottimo, Love Coffee. Il self check-in è stato un po’ difficoltoso, ma forse è colpa mia perché dovevo girare la maniglia con più convinzione 😂

• R (9/5): Nice clean comfortable safe place to stay. - I stayed with a friend sharing a room but twin beds. I managed to get a parking space on the drive which was really handy. There is some parking possibleon streets a bit further away. I also managed to turn up just as the room was fining being prepared and the lady let me put my bag in, so this all worked out. The room and ensuite were great, very clean and comfortable. Didn't hear much sound from anywhere else in the property (although a female somewhere nearby was having a nice morning). Checking in info came through via email, so all door codes worked fine. All good
• Clarissa (7/5): Benino - La posizione della struttura è comoda per arrivare al centro dí Oxford perché la fermata del bus è proprio di fronte e in 5 minuti si è in centro. Le camere (due) erano abbastanza pulite ma in una delle due era presente della muffa. Una nota negativa è l’assenza totale dello staff. Abbiamo avuto delle difficoltà per parcheggiare l’auto. Dalle informazioni di Booking dicono che non c’è parcheggio nella struttura e che c’è possibilità di parcheggiare nelle strade adiacenti. Peccato che siano tutti parcheggi riservati ai residenti. Abbiamo provato a contattare la struttura per farci aiutare ma niente, non abbiamo mai ricevuto risposta. Alla fine abbiamo trovato un parcheggio privato a pagamento (non economico) a 3 minuti di distanza, per poi scoprire una volta arrivati alla struttura che c’era il parcheggio disponibile davanti. Se fossero più chiari con la situazione parcheggio e fossero anche veloci nel rispondere, sarebbe meglio.

Clear instructions for key code entry remote check in etc, given a tel number for host in case of an issues communal kitchen and lunge if needed. Central heating didn't come on in the morning so was a chilly start as about 3*C outside! Thankfully hot water was working.

We liked everything however just a few areas that we found that were Difficult for us. The stairs were a bit steep for me i have osteo arthritis i should have checked. Heating not on too late we come from a warmer country. To give the owners credit they have provided us with a cozy clean and great cooking area.

• Catherine (8/5): Convenient and comfortable base to explore Oxford and the area - Iffley house has 8 rooms and we were in number 7 at the top. Access is via key pads - one for the house and another for the room so it's easy to come and go without having to worry about keys. The communal spaces were clean and tidy. The fridge had plenty of space for the food and wine we bought at the nearby co-op, the oven worked well and the crockery and cutlery was clean and plentiful. There was no corkscrew, so be careful which wine you buy! In the conservatory was a comfy sofa and a handful of books and a dining table and 6 chairs. The house was warm without being hot. We heard very little noise from the road or other residents and felt very comfortable. Our room wasn't large, but neither was it cramped. A chest of drawers, 2 bedside tables and a bucket chair were provided, but no tea making facilities. We brought our own, but there is tea, coffee, sugar and milk in the kitchen. There are also 4 double electrical sockets which is excellent. There are 2 windows with blinds which allow light to come in around the edges, so if that's a problem I would suggest an eye mask. The double bed had a firm mattress, 4 pillows and 2 cushions which made it comfortable to curl up and watch the wall mounted TV. There is a coat hanger and shelf next to the radiator which is perfect for drying off coats after a rainy February day! The en-suite had a shower, toilet and tiny hand basin with a mirror and shelf above it. 4 towels, a bathmat and plenty of loo paper were provided. We were lucky enough to get our car onto the front yard parking space which was very handy and it only took half an hour to walk into the city centre - out the door, turn right and keep on going! This property is in an excellent location, easy to find, access and explore from with local shops next door.

Despite overlooking the main Iffley Road associated noise was not intrusive. Limited room facilities,such as cups/glasses in the room. A kettle and tea/coffee in the room would have been nice even though the kitchen had such facilities. Stairs were narrow and a bit steep but OK. Happily we arrived just before 4pm so managed to get 1 of 2 parking places at the front.

• Thomas Andreas (9/5): Oxford ist ein Reise wert. Wir werden wiederkommen, ganz sicher ! - Die Unterkunft ist wunderbar für die Übernachtung. Das Zimmer und das Bad waren sehr, sehr sauber und sehr komfortabel ausgestattet. Im Erdgeschoss gibt es eine Küche mit allen Optionen von Kühlschrank bis hin zur Waschmaschine. An die Küche angeschlossen ist ein warmer Wintergarten mit viel Platz zum Essen und auch mit Sessel und Couch um zu Lesen oder auch in der Gemeinschaft zu ruhen. Ganz besonders positiv ist für den Ort die Bushaltestelle direkt vor dem Haus, welche uns alle Optionen für die Stadt geboten hat. Tipp: Tagesticket lösen, das war sehr angenehm und hat uns viel Freude bereitet. Es war nicht leicht einen Parkplatz finden. Letztlich haben wir dann einen der öffentlichen Parkplätze genutzt um das Fahrzeug sicher abzustellen. Durch die sehr guten Busverbindungen, welche gefühlt alle zehn Minuten zur Verfügung stehen, war das aber nicht wirklich eine Einschränkung, sondern eher eine Aufgabe gut vorbereitet zu sein.

• Esther (5/5): functional - The bed was comfortable, the communal dining room light and spacious The single room was tiny, you can only just walk between the bed and wall. It has an ensuite like a cupboard, you can barely turn around in it. There are no staff on site. No attention to detail, there were holes in the wall of the bathroom where presumably a towel rail had been. It is more like a hostel - but with rooms ensuite and a communal kitchen and dining room, which were well equipped and clean. It was £95 for this room and it was poor value. A travel lodge/premier inn would be in the same price range and give a real service. The images and layout suggest that double rooms are good but avoid single rooms and be aware you enter with a front door and room code that you need to carry and remember at all times and that the kitchen is the only place for water and tea making and there are no staff. It is clean and functional but not an experience and single rooms seem poor value.

• Cedric (4/5): Wir haben uns in der Unterkunft nicht wohl gefühlt. - Die Unterkunft war im Umkreis von Oxford und für Städtetouren sehr gut gelegen. Mithilfe von günstigen Park & Ride Parkplätzen konnten wir die Stadt in Ruhe besichtigen. Das Zimmer sah ok aus. Es gibt einen großen Herd, einen großen Esstisch in einem extra Zimmer sowie einen Außenbereich im Hintergarten. Die Unterkunft ist für Autofahrer sehr schlecht gelegen, da hier nur Parkzonen für Einheimische sind und somit nur schwer ein Parkplatz gefunden werden kann. Zusätzlich ist die Sauberkeit verbesserungswürdig. In der Küche war alles sehr ölig und nicht so sauber, sodass die Hygiene anzuzweifeln war. Außerdem waren die Wände voller Salpeter (oder Schimmel?), was zusätzlich zu einem Unwohlsein beigetragen hat. Das Zimmer im Erdgeschoss hat sehr schlecht gerochen und trotz dauerhaftem Lüften war der Geruch nicht weg zu bekommen. Auch in der Küche hat es sehr schlecht gerochen. Während unseres Aufenthalts war kein weiterer Gast in der Küche, so dass es nicht vom Kochen kommen kann. Das Geschirr ist häufig dreckig in die Schränke geräumt worden. Weiterhin hatten wir mehrfach versucht, über Booking die Unterkunft zu kontaktieren. Es wurde darauf nicht reagiert. Der Außenbereich muss dringend freigeschnitten werden von Bewuchs, die Bank zum hinsetzten hat auf einer Seite keine Beine mehr.

I stayed at Iffley Town House for a long-term booking and regret the decision. The property was consistently poorly managed, unsafe, and not as advertised, with multiple unresolved issues throughout my stay. From the beginning, there were serious facility problems, including unreliable and frequently non-functional Wi-Fi (which I had to pay out of pocket to replace), unstable shower temperature, mould issues, and a room condition that did not match the listing. These problems were repeatedly raised but never properly resolved. More concerning were the safety and conduct issues. During the weekend of 14–15 December, another guest was severely intoxicated and aggressive, shouting, screaming, kicking doors and furniture, and stomping through the property late into the night. Police were involved. I was unable to sleep and did not feel safe. This is entirely unacceptable for a paid accommodation and indicates a lack of proper guest management. I have recordings and records of these incidents. The most serious issue occurred when the front door access code was changed without any prior notice, resulting in me being locked out of a property I had fully paid for, late in the evening, with my belongings still inside. The new code was only provided after I explicitly requested it. Changing access codes without notifying a paying guest is a serious breach of trust and basic accommodation standards. Despite assurances, I was not refunded for unused nights after moving out early, even though the host indicated a refund would be provided. The explanation that the booking was “blocked” is not valid, as booking dates can be modified by hosts or through the platform. This issue was dragged out for weeks without resolution. Overall, this property demonstrated poor communication, inadequate safety standards, and a lack of accountability. I would strongly caution future guests against staying here. The experience was stressful, disruptive, and far below what should be expected.

All the mod cons, good temperature and well ventilated. Very clean both in the bedroom and the bathroom. Love the kitchen/conservatory and outside patio garden set-up. So much space, I think I must've had it all to myself! Very convenient location. Couldn't work out how to change the shower from the small to the big shower head. The right tap on shower fixture seemed loose, perhaps that was to do with it? Anyway It wasn't the end of the world! The place could do with a decor refresh (paintwork in the bathroom in particular), the WiFi was very very slow.. For the price tho, I wasn't complaining as it was a very reasonable last-minute deal.

You can hear everything on the corridor. But the worst part is that the room at the ground was smelling so badly from the bathroom, we asked for another room, they answer late and very unpolite - they didn't even say they were sorry about it. • María (7/5): Tranquilo y correcto para pasar la noche - El acceso con códigos era muy sencillo. La habitación con baño estaba bien y era caliente. Apartado del centro aunque bien comunicado. Poco amenities. Las ventanas cerraban un poco mal y tenías que insistir para que no se colara el aire frío.

• Ross (10/5): Great stay, but Booking.com messages did not get answered! - Cleanliness and size of the room Booking.com message never got answered so we never got the twin room specified, they did correct this and gave us two separate rooms.
• Malgorzata (7/5): The place quite ok. - Good contact with the host, flexible hours of check in, easy access. Safe neighbourhood, nice walk distance from the city atractions. Bus stops near the place. A good price in comparison with hotels and B&B's in the center. A big kitchen with a good equipment. Unfortunately the bathroom was not clean with old mold in the shower cabin and not pleasant smell - both in the bathroom and the room. We had to keep the window open despite the cold, autumn weather. The place would be really nice but now it needs some refresh.
• Hannah (8/5): - Easy instructions to get into the accommodation. The room was comfortable and having a kitchen was very useful. Great location. In the description it describes having parking for guests however it was discovered that there were only two parking spots and it was a first come first served basis. It was a bit misleading but we did manage to get one of the spots.
• Alison (9/5): Convenient and good value and in a great location. Clean, comfortable and warm - We were very comfortable here. It was easy to locate and enter. The room was clean and warm. Well equipped. Great value for money. Easy walk from central Oxford and close to good pubs and restaurants. Nothing really. Wi-Fi was a bit wobbly but otherwise all great
