- Ariella (10/5): - My boyfriend and I have stayed at hundreds of hotels (especially all across NY state) in the past two years but our experience at Brinckerhoff was truly unique and special The Inn is gorgeous and filled with such rich history. Bob, the owner, gave us a great tour upon arrival. There are numerous common areas to relax and hang out - including a huge outdoor area and a pool table. In the morning, Bob made us a lovely breakfast on gold China plates. The menu was “anything you want” which we opted to make a royal choice for ourselves of eggs, toast, sausage, and hash browns. I highly recommend this Inn for all visitors - especially couples looking for a cool getaway in a New York haven. If you have the option to get a upgraded room, DO IT. The tub is ENORMOUS!

- Anthony P M (10/5): An historic oasis of tranquility - Bob, the current owner, has had the place for around three years and spent half that time engaged in a labour of love renovating it. It’s a 300+ year old historic country house set in an idyllic location. We stayed for three nights to experience the fall and loved it. Bob was also helpful and knowledgeable about places to visit in the locality. Happy memories to take back to Hong Kong 🇭🇰 We had a bedroom on the first level with a great en suite and a super comfortable huge bed.

The innkeeper/owner prepared a great breakfast and he was really informative about the amazing history of the place (among other facts, Lafayette recovered from a major illness here).

- Verified traveler (10/5): Well worth a visit! - Stayed in the Lafayette room. Amazing. Such a charming place. Our host Bob went above and beyond in making me feel welcome and comfortable. This historic house has been lovingly restored by Bob, and the little details and interest in the history of the house make for a fascinating stay. Everything from the room to the breakfast made for a memorable and special visit. Centrally located to explore the best of the Hudson Valley, this is a little gem and a wonderful getaway. I cannot recommend it enough.

The manager seemed shocked that we wanted breakfast ( at his bed and BREAKFAST). After being ignored for over 20 minutes we had to leave without breakfast or we would have been late for our appointment. We gave ourselves 50 minutes to eat breakfast but after being ignored so long we knew we were cutting it to close and had to leave. Not worth the price

- Monica (10/5): An Unexpected Delight! - I had a lovely room with a generous amount of space. The bathroom was very inviting with its clawfoot tub. I was only staying one night for a wedding, but if anyone was staying longer, there was plenty of storage space in the matching furniture. Both room and bathroom tastefully decorated as was the entire home. Areas that the guests could use for food storage were provided. The Innkeeper really thought of everything. Breakfast was superb and could be anything you wanted. I definitely plan to return to the Brinckerhoff.

- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property and room was gorgeous and the staff was overly amazing along with the free breakfast. My only issue is that i specifically booked a room that stated had a private bathroom with a deep tub. I only ordered that room FOR THE TUB. Even on their own website, the pictures are deceiving and makes it look like the room i ordered (Andrew Jackson room) had a bathroom in the room. Well it did not. The "private" bathroom is a shared bathroom that the entire 3rd floor uses. I was very displeased with that. Make sure you call and ask for things youre looking for.

Yet modern where it needs to be, like the bathroom. I liked the bathtub. I loved the old cemetery next door, where are buried all the Brinckerhoffs and then some. There's more to the property that the Innkeeper invited us to explore, but we had no time.

- Charles (10/5): A romantic surprise in the Hudson Valley - The most pleasant of surprises! On a whim, I wanted to arrange a surprise romantic getaway for my wife. I was able to get a booking at The Brinckerhoff Inn, which sounded right based on the reviews. The reality was so much better! The proprietor Bob took care of us thru our stay. He first gave us a short intro to the building, which had been in the Brinckerhoff family for almost 300 years (!) and had such famous guests as Washington and Lafayette. (The historic aspect was a bonus for my wife and me, both teachers). He even got a dinner reservation for us when our arrival was delayed (which helped since we were unfamiliar with the area).The James Madison room has a private bath with a restored claw-foot tub. In fact, the entire inn was beautifully restored: one might feel they have been transported to the past when these antique items were brand new! And as this is a B&B, I must add the breakfast was both delicious and generous- the French Toast will not disappoint! We will definitely be doing a 2-night stay next time, so we could enjoy the parlor and veranda.

- Ted (10/5): - The Brinckerhoff is an old family homestead in Fishkil, NY, originally built around 1715, and meticulously renovated in the last four years by the current owner. We stayed in the LaFayette Room, which was perfect. Everything is new - windows, fixtures, plumbing, but the feel of the place is authentic 18th century. It's beautifully furnished. Bob the owner is an engaging guy who cooks a superb breakfast. The Inn sits on a main road, not deep in the country. Easy to get to, and there's plenty to visit in the area. The Dia Museum in Beacon is a "Must See".
- Chris (10/5): - We really enjoyed our stay at the Brinckerhoff Inn. Bob was very congenial and gave us a short tour of the historic house (almost 300 years old!) Our room was spacious and furnished in a stately period style; with a very comfortable bed, air conditioning, TV, and a bathroom featuring a large iron clawfoot tub. Breakfast in the morning was delicious: fresh baked muffins, fruit, eggs made to order, tea/coffee, etc. Easy access to Fishkill and surrounding area. We'll stay here again.
- Wendy (10/5): - Our first Bed and Breakfast was a great experience at Brinckerhoff. Booked through Expedia and didn't realize check in closes at 7:00 PM. Very thankful Bob was very accommodating of our late arrival. Wish we would've arrived earlier to enjoy the nice accommodations more. Room was beautiful and comfortable, breakfast was exceptional with generous helpings. I really enjoyed the baked apple filled with oatmeal. We definitely hope to return to Brinckerhoff.
- Jonathan (10/5): Wonderful B&B with one-of-a-kind history - We stayed at the Brinkerhoff Inn. It was the best B&B I think we could ask for. I’m a history buff so I was in heaven. The place is 300 years old this year but beautifully redone with all the modern comforts. George Washington and the Marquis de Lafayette stayed here... what more history could you ask for? Bob, the owner, was a pleasure to meet as well and was an excellent host. My girlfriend and I really couldnt say enough good things about the place. We hope to come back soon!

- Stacey (10/5): Lovely getaway weekend - We had a great stay at the Brinckerhoff Inn. The property is beautiful and it was obvious how much work went into the restoration. The decor was very "Presidential" and definitely felt like you were back in the 18th Century. My husband and I had a lovely stay. The en suite bathroom was spacious and Molton brown amenities added a nice touch. We even snuck in a few games of pool in the downstairs game room. Bob was a terrific host and made us a delicious breakfast with a beautiful presentation. I would definitely stay at the Brinckerhoff Inn again!
