Guest Reviews

Mil gracias a nuestro host !
- Lydia (8/5): Very good - Very friendly host, who gave us a tour of the plants in his garden. The breakfast was really good too! fluorescent bulbs, but that is not unique to this homestay, pretty much every room we have stayed in uses fluorescent lighting.
- Terry (9/5): Superb - The family. By noisy road.
- Lexie (10/5): Exceptional - The family that owns it is fantastic and very kind. After a very long journey getting there, I was offered tea on arrival. The bed was the comfiest I had in Sri Lanka so far. The room and bathroom were clean. The owner offered to take me on a tour of Sigiriya and Dambulla the next day, and I had a fantastic experience with him. When I left, he put me on the right bus to where I wanted to go. There was nothing they could have done better I had a great experience!
- Robert (9/5): Very good place to stay, very good breakfast and great staff - Owner was very helpful and good to talk to A little far away from town
- Louisa (10/5): Stay with nice family - Very nice owner. Explained us everything and waited for the bus with us. Nice breakfast. Would definitely come back. also the room was nice and there were no mosquitos when we were there. Nice garden with a lot of fascinating plants.

- Joan (5/5): Loud, No Sleep - The host dad and family were nice and accommodating. This is probably the only saving grace of this property. I don't understand how this place has such a good rating. This place is located on the main road through town. I was in the room closest to the street and probably slept 2 hours the whole night. It is extremely loud at night. I'm usually a person who sleeps through loud noise, but not here. You can literally hear every tire rotate from the road.
Also, the room just didn't seem clean. The host dad swept the room and the bathroom at my request, but it needed more than that. It needs a good scrubbing with bleach.
The mosquito net didn't fully cover the entire bed, and there are plenty of mosquitoes.
The stay was so bad that I skipped out on the last night.
- David (9/5): Superb - this was a return visit for us and we’re made to feel very welcome. Takeshita Inn offers great value for money with a big smile 😊
- Lauren (8/5): A good base for excursions - We were the only people staying at Takeshi Inn but the host of the family who own the inn made us feel very welcome and greeted us with coffee and bananas from the garden on arrival. You are situated on a main road, the accomodation is basic but has everything you need and is a great location to carry out excursions, we were able to visit the cave temple, elephant park and Pidurangala with the help of our host. There was some confusion at check out where they wanted us to pay the booking.com commission - as Sri Lanka is really suffering with lack of tourists right now we already planned to leave a tip and paid the amount requested.
- David (10/5): Exceptional -
- David (10/5): from the moment we arrived until we left, we were looked after very well by the family that runs the hotel. - location, staff, beds nothing
- Pasidu (8/5): Very good - I came to Takeshi for the second time. I think Takeshi is a perfect place to stay for everyone. The reason for that is that there is an attractive environment here, as well as easy to buy food. I felt a little weak, the water pressure in the bathroom was very low. I ask the management to consider it.
- Matteo (8/5): Great stay, we strongly recommend - - The host is very arranging, speaks a perfect English, took us to the Lion Rock himself, helped us getting a bus to our next destination.
- It’s a great deal for the price, great value - The wifi is a bit slow
- Many mosquitoes but it’s part of the experience, don’t leave your door open at night.
