Guest Reviews
- Danielle (9/5): - Friendly staff. Our room was very clean and comfy. Had a good amount of relaxing and activities. The food was good! Not too many people on board. The coffee was not good, otherwise nothing really comes to mind!
- Leah (10/5): Wonderful trip in Ha Long Bay - We were picked up in Hanoi with very clear instructions for meeting. The drive was comfortable and the turn around in getting out of the bus and into the cruise very fast. Food was lovely and they even catered for my fussy children. The activities were great, although I wish we did have a little more time for them (such as a little longer swimming), but they were suitable for the time we were there. My family especially loved the fishing at night. The beds were very comfortable also. The staff and the tour guide were all excellent. Nothing, all was great!
- Elizabeth (9/5): -
- christophe-noella (9/5): - Le bateau ont été 15 personnes, le personnel au petit soin, le cadre incroyable Le personnel parle anglais malheureusement je parle très mal et comprends très mal anglais, un peu dur a ce faire comprendre
- Mario (8/5): - El desayuno no tenia bollería
- Nathalia (6/5): - Friendly crew, lovely and amazing food. We booked this boat, and they put us on an inferior one, not in the same condition as the one we booked. We paid for this one and had to travel on an inferior boat, with a leaking bathroom, and without this amazing window view from the room.
- Alekl74 (8/5): -
- Dorine (8/5): Beautiful boattrip with fun activities. - Fun to sleep on the boat, kayaking and Mua caves. The boat looked very worn out, so not easy to have a clean cabin. Karaoke is not our favorite.
- Katrine Vad (8/5): -
- Maria (7/5): -
- Paul (9/5): Superb -
- Geraldine (7/5): Fun but a few inexpensive improvements to the boat would make a huge difference. - Location The pillows
The loud Indian music at night
The way the shower flooded the bathroom
- Elaine (7/5): Great little cruise, suited towards the younger generation - The rooms were clean, the staff were very friendly The steps to and from the pier to the boat were very steep and slippery. The boat staff continued with the normal itinerary even although it was pouring rain. Some activities did not suit pouring rain as it was dangerous. More time needed to take in the views
- L (10/5): Fabulous - The food was exceptional.
The staff were very helpful and friendly.
Lots of activities. The food was amazing, but perhaps we didn’t need quite as much.
- Kok (7/5): Holiday Worth Spent on the Cruise - Food are excellent, it is a rather small wooden cruise but I feel it is cosier. Cruise members and the tour guide are friendly. Overall cleanliness is acceptable. There were some miscommunication during the transfer from Hanoi to Ha Long. But it was resolved quickly despite some inconvenience.
- Patricia (10/5): Exceptional - The place is very clean, staff very friendly and supportive. The food was very tasty.
- Angulo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Catherine (10/5): Exceptional - Beautiful and cozy cruise! The crew was very kind and respectful. The food was delicious. The activities planned during the trip were fun. I recommend 100% this Ha Long experience.
- Vasco (9/5): Cozy bay cruise for a real cozy atmosphere - - great and plenty of food. We were also asked about our dietary restrictions and all was greatly accommodated, even when the group had all types of restrictions
- Bed was comfortable and spacious, as well as the room. Toilet door would not entirely open, but for a night the room felt perfect. Better than we were expecting
- The guide was great and all the transfers worked perfectly
- The activities in the boat were fun and enjoyable
- There was a happy hour for cocktails where we could get 2 for the price of 1.
- We got two bottles of water
- We liked that this boat has a small number of people on board - we needed to do one stop each day in a pearl farm shop. We understand that this might be a way they have to finance some activities (i.e kayaking), but felt too much and annoying
- We would have liked better communication on how the activities worked and coming back in the boat. We wanted to go to the ti top island but not to the cave, and ended up needing to wait for the group before going back to the boat and relax there, as we were wishing
- Too packed schedule, felt rushed instead of having time to relax on board
- the chairs to lay down on the roof are not so comfortable
- Kate (9/5): Great trip with great itinerary and friendly staff. Highly recommend - Comfortable and enjoyable. Awesome itinerary with some down time in between. Staff friendly and very accommodating, highly recommended for the traveller looking for a cheap but comfortable and enjoyable escape. Most meal options were very spicy. Some options available for people that do not like the hot stuff would be welcomed.
- Amanda (8/5): Jam-packed 24 hours, but great fun! Would recommend! - REALLY generous food portions, bordering on ridiculously large servings!
Staff were all really friendly and professional, especially Bang, our tour guide for the cruise.
Itinerary was great. So much ticked off in 24 hours. Felt really looked after by the staff. Cabin was quite cramped for two people and their luggage, but we managed to make it work.
Shower room-toilet is very tight on space. Lots of wood rot, but perhaps to be expected for a sea-faring vessel.
- Tal (5/5): I recommend choosing a quality tour and not paying for a second day tour which is completely unnecessary - Staff Tour of 2 attractions on the first day. On the second day, completely unnecessary attractions, watching pearls being made for ten minutes and then kayaking in a tiny complex for half an hour. Unnecessary payment, I recommend doing a daily tour or a tour with another cruise that invests in its customers, the staff was really nice, the purpose of the trip on the second day is unnecessary.
- Mia (9/5): Superb - I knew it was a tourist trap situation and the staff made every effort to make it as special as possible. It was as good as it got for what we paid for.
- Michele (10/5): Amazing cruise with some great sites along the way. - The cruise was great. There was plenty of food and they catered to different food requirements. The staff were all friendly and willing to help with anything. There was nothing in particular I did not like
- Gary (10/5): Lee and the whole Cozy Bay team made the holiday enjoyable and stress free. The organisation was streamlined and ran lik - A small traditional wooden vessel, much better service and character than a big boat.
- Hannah (10/5): Exceptional - Great staff, good food, small cozy ship - really loved it When you are the first one to be picked up it takes over one hour untill everyone else is picked up.
I had the feeling that the cruising part is a bit short, since we already finished the cruise around 10:30 at the next day...wished we saw more of the bay itself
- Inès (9/5): Comfy and small group cruise - Discovered the impressive Ha Long Bay on this cruise. Guide was great and fun, activities were various, no time to be bored. Other people on the cruise were very friendly so had a wonderful almost 24hours. Food was really good and many meals on the boat! We just did one night cruise so went to the same very packed places than other cruises. Service could have been a bit better, we had to ask for service spoons, glass of waters (that you pay for). Drinks are not included of course but would have expected water/ tea to be.
- Monica (9/5): Great food! Cozy as stayed - Loved everything about this trip. Super organised and organised pick up to and from our hotel. Really good value for money - so many options for every meal and catered to all diets. The staff on board were excellent. There was a bar you could pay for additional drinks if you needed. Good lounging area on the top of the deck. Rooms themselves were very comfortable and had en-suite with hot showers. We had a family room which was two double rooms with an adjoining door with a balcony. Everything was organised to keep guests entertained. We were taken kayaking and the area this was at was filled with rubbish in the water which dampened the experience however this was not the properties fault. Some of the activities felt slightly rushed, however the organisation was good In an ideal world we would have liked more time to kayak and not feel as rushed however given the water was filled with rubbish on this occasion we did not mind rushing out.
- Janio (8/5): Great staff, good comfort and value for money. Good meals. Does not include travel and drinks - Great staff, good comfort and value for money. Good meals. Does not include travel to Hanoi and drinks
- Edoardo (5/5): Passable -
- Oliver (6/5): Little disappointing overall, Halong is beautiful though - Not what we were sold, the hosts were great The bedrooms were small, bathrooms dirty, loose fixtures and fittings, mould on AC and didn’t feel clean. Food was average
- Mcguire (3/5): Accommodation not as described - The room we booked was the deluxe room. Our room was on the lower deck above the engine room. Eye watering diesel fumes coming through the door while steaming and very noisy motor noise. While at anchor sewerage fumes came through floor vents into our room. The bedding did not feel fresh, had to request towels from staff.
- Fraser (7/5): Decent mid-range cruise, great guide - Tour guide Tuan was great and they pick you up and return you to Hanoi hotel (for an additional charge). For the price compared to other cruises it was good value - you get what you pay for. Everything is very well planned and runs on time and Ha Long Bay itself is worth the visit. The food was very good and abundant also. Drinking water is only available at the paid bar. There was organised karaoke in the night which people enjoyed, but if you want a quiet evening on the water then this is not the cruise for that.
- Darren (9/5): Cozy Bay Cruise - Fun time - It was a really nice cruise. Enjoyed the views of Ha Long Bay, Nice to visit Ti Top Island and the Sung Sot cave. Food was nice. Staff very helpful. Room was comfortable. Nothing to complain about.
- Pallab (10/5): Exceptional - Cleanness, , friendly staff Nothing
- Bruna (10/5): Very comfortable - Amazing staff and very comfortable None
- Fran (7/5): Great way to see Halong bay for a good price - Really fun way to see Halong bay. Amazing sunset and good amount of activity throughout the 2 days. Highlight was the kayaking just after sunrise. Clear comms from the tour company in the lead up on pick up etc.
Peter was also a fantastic tour guide and lots of fun during the cruise! Particular loved karaoke and the cooking class!! Whilst communication was great, we were the first pick up from old town and didn’t actually leave the area for an hour due to other pick ups - 1 pick up point would have saved a lot of time. Food was also quite average - we were vegetarians and there wasn’t much choice at first however they did rectify this later in the trip.
- Olu (8/5): Very good -
- Arunabha (8/5): A marvelous adventure with Cozy Bay cruise at Ha long Bay - Very courteous tour guide ( Mr. Nguyen Trong Bang) and cruise staff all through the stay. The food platter was sumptuous and catered to customized preferences. Lots of activities to enjoy the entire tour. Adequate time gap between activities to catch up on rest. Nothing as such 😀
- Matthew (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kate (8/5): Very good -
- Lim (6/5): Room Review - Tour guide is friendly and staffs at cruise are helpful The hygiene issue, toilet is smelly at room 105. Staffs was helped to clean up but still the bad smell is strong. Its quite uncomfortable to stay in the room
- Martyn (7/5): Wonderful visit to Halong Bay - Boutique cruiser with just 13 guests on board. Meals where a good mix of local cuisine. Sights visited where spectacular. Guide was knowledgeable and had good English Bar prices where excessive and price not offered in Dong.
Second day only had 1 short activity.
Checkout of room was 9:30 almost 90mins sitting around doing nothing.
- Abdellah (8/5): Good - The aircon is off during the day
- Lisa (9/5): Great value for money - Friendly and helpful staff. Activities were fun and well organised. The food was fresh, delicious and plentiful. Overall fantastic value for money. The air con in my room didn't seem to be working. There was a fan which did keep the room a little cooler but was quite noisy.
- Caroline (7/5): Good - The staff, the food and the sights were the highlight of this cruise. Outdated boat and facilities.
- Marise (5/5): Passable -
- Janine (7/5): Typical Halong Bay experience, nothing special. Watch out for scams! - Typical Halong Bay experience:
Kayaking, Titop Island & Surprise Cave
- Tour guide was great
- Great food, also for vegetarians and vegans Please note: There is NO DELUXE ROOM!
I paid more to get a better room than the classic room. On the cruise I was told my classic room (small and in bad condition, lots of mold and dirty bed sheets) is the deluxe room and there is no cheaper option. So why is it possible to book it online then? After several discussions with the company they said there is only „deluxe“ and „superior/honeymoon“ and no classic room. They gave me back the extra money I paid for having a better room. This deluxe thing is a scam. So do yourself a favor and dont pay more for it, just book the classic room instead!
- Prices for drinks are given in USD, but they want you to pay in Viet Dong. Or if you pay in USD they will give you change in Viet Dong. Their exchange rate is extremely bad so they can make even more money from you.
- Transfer from and to Hanoi not included, has to be paid on top
- All placed are totally overrun by tourists as all boats go to the locations at the same time, so enjoying Halong Bay is quite difficult. It does not make sense at all, as afterwards the locations are completely empty, so why not split up a little?
- Keep in mind that there is nothing to do on the cruise. So most of the time it is pretty boring, as everything looks the same and you are not entertained at all (except karaoke singing in the night)
- Catherine (4/5): More Decrepit than Cozy Bay Cruise - I got to have an affordable overnight cruise on Halong Bay which was amazing. The guides were excellent and I loved the social connections I made with other travellers. I even reconnected with them in other places around Vietnam! I was expecting basic facilities for the price but the boat was terribly run down… The bed was hard, the toilet didn’t flush properly, the tiles on the bathroom floor were cracked and the shower was not great. Given the number of paying customers taking this cruise, I can’t help but think the boat should be taken out of action for a few weeks and refurbished.
- Garry (10/5): Amazing Cruise and Excellent Staff - A fantastic experience exploring Halong Bay amongst the company of 17 other travellers.
Our tour guide Tam was amazing and his knowledge of the area was outstanding.
Tam & the other crew on the boat could not have done any more for us where their service was amazing.
Highly recommend this cruise & experience. n/a
- Cyrus (10/5): Exceptional -
- Oscar (10/5): Exceptional - everything is very nice, relaxing and comfortable
- Diane (10/5): excellent, fun trip / really enjoyed it. - guide was exceptional. good fun, knowledgeable, friendly, helpful etc.
food and experiences were good. Lovely group of people on the cruise. all good
- Cristobal (7/5): Good -
- Morris (8/5): Great tour guide (Tam) and crew! - Nice decor and reasonable value for money The bedroom and bathroom had quite a strong smell and were very dusty.
- Daniel (9/5): Superb -
- Mila (8/5): Very good - friendly people not like the pictures
- Bethany (7/5): Good -
- Raluca (9/5): Even thow the boat isn’t in its best shape, overall, the experience was very nice. You stay mostly outside anyway and the - The route, the activities and the food were awsome. The boat is quite old and looks rusty.
- Takayuki (9/5): Superb - The trip itself, the itinerary, the staffs, the atmosphere they make.
They serve generous and delicious food for every meal and they accommodate every needs such as pescetarian or vegetarian. The facilities could be improved but this is not really something I didn't like.
- Vivianne (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was amazing! Our tour guide Jackie (Chan) was great and lots of fun! The cruise was jam packed with activities, cooking class, karaoke, kayaking and the food was amazing. All the staff were fantastic and I must say the best cocktails ever!
Jackie was the best tour guide, he helped us with our transfer to our hotel on way back.
Definitely would recommend we had the best time!!
- Floriana (10/5): Exceptional -
- Estella (8/5): loved it, fab scenery, food and staff - fab staff and food had to fill the cistern with water to flush, but wasn’t a massive issue.
- Elizabeth (9/5): wonderful staff and an unforgettable experience - The staff were all fantastic and I had a brilliant time.
I like that it was a small group of less than 20 passengers. Even though I was a solo traveller I felt like part of the group and made many new friends. there were 2 other solo travellers as well so that was reassuring too.
The lock on my door broke, but was fixed quickly by a friendly member of staff!
The activities on the boat were fantastic and despite the weather not being great the whole time the scenery was stunning. The food was delicious, happy hour was great (2 for 1 cocktails!) and I enjoyed preparing some spring rolls and squid fishing.
The absolute highlight was the next morning when we went kayaking after a short tour at a pearl farm. Learning about how the pearls were made was very interesting and we had the chance to buy pearl jewellery after.
Getting onto the water in a canoe was one of my favourite parts of my entire holiday, not just this cruise! The sky cleared and the water was so calm. It was incredibly peaceful to explore the area. I only wish we could have stayed out even longer! It was a wonderful way to end a fantastic cruise. The boat is visibly quite old and dated in the rooms but it had a lot of character.
- Alana (9/5): Superb -
- Jacinta (10/5): had a lovely 2day, 1 night cruise. Nicely organized activities, great food, comfortable rooms - very nice rooms, fun activities, great host, delicious food nothing
- Lochlan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jordan (5/5): Not really 'Cozy Bay' vibes. Would not book with them again. - Ha Long Bay itself is a bucket list destination and it is a magical place.
The food that is provided was very good quality and you there was plenty of it! They just keep bringing food to the table so can not fault this part of the journey. Poor organisation! It clearly states that bookings cannot be made with 24 hours notice however there was a very last minute booking which we had to wait (10 minutes) but actually this was more like half an hour before picking them up.
Then you drive 2.5 hours to stop by what is simply a tourist trap but tour guide try make out that it is something special (its not at all) and also made out that it is a good half way mark to stop by..... It took us about 20 minutes from there to get to the boat. Bit of a con when they say 2 days 1 night just like a lot of other reviews state so we knew about this. However when you do not get to the actual boat until after mid day (in normal times) But you are delayed due to that booking and then when we arrived, the boat was not ready so we had to sit (again)!! and wait a further 30 minutes we was not impressed along with the other guests.
Drinks should be included in the price when paying such amount.
The boat is very dated and to be honest rather scratty, looks like it is falling apart. A lot of other boats seemed to be the same but not as bad as this.
- Su (9/5): Superb - tour guide Duong speaks good English and is very helpful. the toilet is quite small
- Emma (9/5): Great value trip! - The staff and tour guide were so friendly and informative. We packed a lot into the overnight cruise. Good value for money! Dinner and lunch consisted of mainly fried food. The room/bathroom could use renovation. Unsure on the need to stop at two pearl farms where they recite the same information.
- Robert (7/5): Good -
- Cristina (10/5): Great experience - Excellent organization of the tour at Ha Long Bay and transfer from Hanoi - we were really impressed by the professionalism of the crew and our tour guide, Mr Đường
Food was very tasty and all activities fun
Had an excellent sleep in the bay
Sparkling clean Wifi on the Boat not working - although our tour guide was very kind and shared his internet when needed via hotspot from his phone
- Carmen (8/5): Very good -
- Rolf (3/5): I wouldn't recommend it - Guide and caves were good. Different from pictures provided. I don't recommend this cruise. It is too overpriced for what it is worth. I paid $226 AUD. It's and old small boat with old amenities. Ha Long Bay is fantastic for some once in a lifetime. I suggest going with the bigger boats makes such a difference. I felt my trip was ruined by this experience. Don't go by the 5 star reviews I dont know who is writing them. I really wanted to write this so you could enjoy Ha Long Bay so pick a good company and pay extra for something better. I won't pay more than $70US for this.
- Chelsea (8/5): Well worth it. - everyone was really nice and the boat was clean. it was a bit expensive but so is very cruise in Halong Bay.
- Zoe (6/5): For the price it was decent. Definitely the smallest and grimiest of boats out at sea. But also one of the cheaper optio - Staff were friendly and helpful. The surroundings are magnificent, beautiful location. It wasn’t very clean. WiFi was not working, the guide did share his hotspot with some people.
- Macarena (8/5): Very good -
- Divyesh (5/5): Average experience - Very good variety for all meals
Quick and friendly service
Excursion are well planned
staff is amazing… Very old boat
Very small room absolutely no space for any luggage
Sub standard toilet
Minimum toiletries
Very rundown room
Towel… will not absorb any water
Shower with “not cold” water.. water temp not even lukewarm for shower
Glass partition between room and toilet. Vertical blinds provided but few blinds broken so really no partition. For our children room, one person has to step out when other is using bathroom
Need to buy water during meals

They start from Hanoi old quarter around 8am.

There was enough time for everything, no rush. Our tour guide Tam spoke good English, so everything was well explained.
Food was also amazing.
Rooms have showers, hot water, window with good view. Comfortable and clean
- Sam (8/5): Overall, good value for money. - Good value for money overall, food was excellent, definitely the best part of the trip. Activities were well organised and the tour guide Timtam was good. Happy hour was a good touch Shower wasn’t very hot, it was very cold on the boat had to wear multiple layers at all times wasn’t well insulated, I’d say not built for cold weather at all. Cocktails were far too expensive for Vietnam pricing.
- Fenella (8/5): Fantastic Trip - The cruise was fantastic. Great itinerary, staff people and food. We wish we had one more day out at sea!!!! The photo is looking a little tired in comparison to the images. These need to be updated.
- Gordon (8/5): Very good -
- Bethany (10/5): amazing stay/2 day 1 night trip on this cruise - our tour guide Hiep made the experience so special :) - really lovely boat, nice, clean rooms with comfy beds and good warm showers! nice communal areas (sun deck and restaurant). we did the 2 days 1 night tour which was amazing and involved visiting pearl farm, titop island, swimming, kayaking and karaoke. our guide Hiep was amazing - made the trip amazing - he was very helpful and friendly and very informative!!
- Pavithra (9/5): Superb - Had a great experience, It's comparatively a smaller cruise, so there won't be too many people aboard. Not super luxurious, but the boat has great staff and the food is amazing! Cocktails served on board are quite good too. We had a really fun karaoke night as well! Made 2 stops at perl farms (where you get to buy perl based jewellery), one on the way and one on the 2nd day, 2nd one was quite informative, but the first stop on the way could be avoided.
- Courtney (9/5): Superb -
- Malki (9/5): It was cozy!! And amazing food! - Loved the activities, loved the ship, it was a bit compact and old but cozy, and the staff was pretty nice. But the best thing was the food!!!! Hats off to the bartender and the chef and the kitchen staff. Such delicious food!
- Rowaida (9/5): Amazing cruise in Halong Bay - Cozy Bay is amazing! staff are very helpful, cheerful and accommodating. the cruise is very nice and super clean and the food was amazing.
would definitely recommend it and the price is very reasonable compared to other operators as well. all was good! thank you
- Lydia (9/5): Superb - This was fantastic value for money. As one of the cheaper cruises, I was a little worried about the quality before boarding. Yes, the rooms, boat and decor could use a little makeover. However, the rooms and bed were very comfortable, bathroom worked perfectly, the food was tasty and plentiful, the activities were great and the staff were amazing. They had great cocktails and a long happy hour.
The best part was that I got to experience Ha Long Bay and all of its activities for a fraction of the price of everyone in the boats around us.
Do not pick this cruise if you are looking for a luxury experience/treat as the facilities are basic (but all I needed!)… this is the perfect choice to experience Ha Long Bay on a tighter budget. The karaoke could have been cringe/weird if I had a different group. Luckily my cruise had a great group of people
- Deena (9/5): Enjoyable experience - I joined the cruise by food a 2d1n tour. Tuan the tour guide was amazing! He was so friendly, approachable and knowledgable about Vietnam and Ha Long Bay. His energy made the experience better. The staff on the boat were great and really took care of us. We were given plenty of delicious food and taken to do many activities. It was really good value for money and I would recommend it. The pickup times were incorrect and my toilet smelt bad.
- Animesh (9/5): Superb - Exotic food and Cozy and comfortable stay. Tour guide and other staff were very good. I will definitely recommend this cruise.
- Melike (10/5): it was super fun! we loved our guide Steve! the food was amazing and the activities planned for the short amount of time - the cruise is a cute little cruise and the rooms are super nice and spacey
- Sergio (10/5): Amazing trip and staff - The staff is amazing they are super nice especially the tour guide and the bartender The rooms are a little bit to hot but it all fix at night when you can turn on the ac
- Jacobo (9/5): Superb - It is very comfortable, great value for the money and the food and staff were great! The air conditioner was working but it was faulty, it dropped some water and you could hear a crackling sounds of ice when you turn it off
