B R (10/5): Always the best value and best comfort - Always our go-to place when we stay in Christchurch - the owners are lovely and super hospitable and it’s cheap and cheerful with no extra frills - but that’s reflected in the price which is easily the best value in Canterbury especially with this location. Beds are comfy; rooms are spacious, shower is warm and carparking is included - all the things you need for a quick easy stopover in Chch.

Viv (6/5): - We stayed for three nights, it was quiet despite being near a main highway. The living and sleeping area was fine but we found the lack of an extractor fan in the bathroom and the window not being able to be open just a bit meant the room was damp and full of condensation, there was no shelving to put out toiletries on apart from a ledge by the pedestal basin. There was no smoke alarm fitted and the lighting was poor in the living area. It's just a bit tired and not up to even healthy homes standards. The proprietor was friendly and check in was easy.

It's a very convenient place to stay before catching the TransApline train. Very clean and tidy with all you need, kitchen, roomy bathroom and table & chairs and a lounge seat. Comfortable bed for a good night's sleep.

Anna (8/5): - Very handy to food and various little shops on Lincoln road - only a few minutes walk. Also only a few minutes drive to Westfield mall in Riccarton. Being on a main arterial route very easy to get to other places and areas in Christchurch. One small thing to note: you cannot turn right out of this place - you will need to turn left and either find somewhere to U turn or get Google or navigation to redirect. Motel itself decent, clean and gentleman who checked me in and showed me the room very helpful. Room was serviced daily with clean towels. Plenty of parking.

Simple, relaxing and the location was perfect and easy to walk down to the local bars, or drive to near by shops and into town. Hardly any noise from the main road which was a nice surprise. Recommend to anyone if you are looking for a stress free place to stay.

Property itself is dated, no ventilation in bathroom so evidence of black mould on the ceiling. Sofas ripped, cupboard fronts dirty. Fine for one night but I wouldn’t use it as a holiday stay.

Location on the arterial roads around Christchurch so with a big carpark is ideal for travellers with vehicles (M/Cycles etc) - Although not far walking from interesting Addington too. Tidy rooms but a update wouldn't go a miss, don't like powdered milk sachets and being told there's a garage next door if want real milk.

The only thing that we found challenging were the showers -my mother-in-law is 84 and really would have appreciate a hand rail in the shower, as there is quite a large step down, and when it is wet and slippery, can be quite dangerous for older people.
