- Leboge Brenda (5/5): Excellent - Everything was perfect ,but the water was not hot,I was scared to open tap long as the notice was say I could be cut off my stay, otherwise everything was in order .I want to revisit soon. Everything
- selemela tours (1/5): - Nothing Everything
- Stewie (2/5): Appalling night sleep...I felt dirtied and exhausted after my stay - There wasn't breakfast.
I liked that it was central to where I needed to be on the following day.
The cleanliness was appalling The place is a biohazard!
The sheer amount of dust and what appeared to be pubic hair littering the living space.
It was hard to sleep in a room I couldn't breathe in.
- Kabo (2/5): Good value for money. But expensive shuttle - Price is reasonable Shuttle to and from airport is R500. But it's not immediately clear on the booking.com
The mat in the room needs to be cleaned. The setup at reception and dining area could do better with improvements.
- Tauseef (1/5): - The price was okay This is my lengthy review but make it worth your while to read till the very end. The very first issue was that I was charged an extra R150 for checking in late. The flight from JHB arrived late in Cape Town and the pilot apologized and said, due to technical issues they couldn't leave Or Tambo on time , so they arrived late in Cape Town. The result was that we boarded late in Cape Town, so we arrived later than expected in Or Tambo. Besides that, I communicated my flight details with the owner of the Inn, just in case there were delays. I was still charged a " LATE CHECK-IN FEE" of R150. When I entered the room I immediately saw it looked like a place out of the 60's. The bathroom area and the sleeping area is an open-plan- meaning there is no door on the bathroom to separate the two. The room smelled mouldy and it gave me sinus problems all night. The morning when I went outside into the fresh air, my sinus cleared up somewhat. The carpet was stained and old. The room was freezing cold. There were plastic sleeves pasted all over the room with " house rules" , even in the bathroom area. There were no TV. I felt like I was in a concentration camp. The lady who greeted me the next morning were friendly. The man who checked me in came to knock on the bedroom door to make sure I was up to leave on or before 9am. Yes unlike other accommodation places, their checkout time is 9am which I think was rediculous. Besides the fact that I had to pay extra for a plane that arrived late, I remained calm and respectful did not argue to say that the flight arrival time is beyound my control. Now here are some interesting facts that I need to share.
I spent the first part of the night reading through the Pilot Inn reviews where people who just like me, have received emails to give a review about their stay at the pilot inn. Overall 99% of the reviews are bad. I am sorry that I also cannot lie about what I have experienced.
- Msimisi B. (10/5): MBS - They are friendly and very welcoming. Check out time is too early.
- Mgogoshe (5/5): - Very close to the O.R Tambo airport There was some noise coming from the neighbouring shops which disturbed my working and sleep time. Cold bathing water in the morning due to cable theft in that neighbourhood.
They didn't offer a kettle jug to make coffee
- Mandla (1/5): - Nothing π Everything uncomfortable place old blankets that you won't even find in the shop it's a no go zone thank you
- Mgilane (6/5): -
- makiva (8/5): Good - Friendly staff Nothing...good for the amount I paid
- Kim Silinda (8/5): -
- Charmain (4/5): - Nothing Wifi was blocked from the rooms. The guest has to be in the lounge for the wifi to connect. At 11pm Gift was in the lounge to connect with the wifi and the owner walked stark naked. It was rather traumatic.
- Jessica (9/5): -
- Sakhile (7/5): - Care and warm welcome They still owe me a refund they promised to pay, but I'm still waiting even today. I paid twice, online and when I arrived there, for they said the money I paid online did not reflect on their account the time I arrive.

- Belinda (9/5): - The hosts were lovely. They communicated really well and stayed up to welcome me which I thought was really sweet (they really didnt have to, and it wasnt asked but they did and after a long day and traveling it was well appreciated). The facilities are as on the pictures
- Nokulunga (1/5): - I booked, and when I eventually got there, the whole place was dark, and I pressed the intercom, but they did not answer. I waited at the gate for a while, but no one showed up at the gate or at least lighted the house to show that there was someone inside. After a while, I decided to go look for another accommodation since it was late and I was using Uber. When I asked for my refund, they claimed that they had come to the gate, but they did not, and they refused to refund me
- Zwakele (1/5): - Nothing Very racist. Left me out in the cold at night as a girl. Asked me to add more money in my booking fee, which I didn't understand why
- Gertrude (9/5): - Great welcome. Challenge with online payment was solved with care and dignity. WiFi - not available in rooms
- Ratshivhombela (5/5): - I loved the shower and the size of the bed. Blankets were warm. Lots of mirrors. - Olukayode (2/5): Very poor -
- Nthabiseng (8/5): Very good -

- Shannon (8/5): Very good - Danie was very friendly and accommodating
- Claurina (2/5): Bad, need to hire cleaning staff. - The people were very welcoming. The place was untidy, no wifi connection, the blankets were smelling dust. No microwave to warm food. The check out time was too early. They claimed they had to clean but the place was dirty when I arrived.

- Bonaventure (7/5): Good - Very affordable place and it is very close to the airport.
- Matlhogonolo (7/5): Good -
- Kotoko (10/5): Homestay with lovely Grandpa & Grandma - Very kindhearted couple, quiet room with a big bed, clean toilet and bathroom, and time escaping common room here Wifi didn't work for my smartphone
- Jari (8/5): Convinient. - Close to the airport and nice gated car park. Friendly owners. In general Johannesburg not a safe place.
- Mpendulo (5/5): Not pleasing - Location is perfect, but the place is not clean.
No towels, no soap, no iron. The lady shouted at more for the condition I left the bed at.
She really ws not nice at all to me since the night of mu arrival.
I even thought it's because I'm black.
- Siphelele (7/5): Good -
- Baljit (7/5): Close to airport. Nice room. Overall nice property and good staff - Staff at reception was lovely. I wish I remembered her name.
Breakfast is great. Full English with option to add fruit and yoghurt.
So close to airport and free airport shuttle is a great touch No soap in the bathroom
- Ncanywa (1/5): Bad -
- Shetal (1/5): Awful! Like checking into prison. - Nothing I checked my brother in. When we got there, the elderly couple began telling us the rules of stay. You cannot do anything without their permission, including take a cup of tea to bed as it is not allowed. There are no towels and as the lady explained, she will not wash other peoples filth. We did mention that he does not drink alcohol but we were told if their guests does consume alcohol and vomits anywhere, they will make him clean it up with their guest's face on the floor. Not sure what that meant but I've never had warnings like those in the past. No food is provided at all, including tea or coffee. It was smelly bedding and just a bad experience overall. Yes all of this is on the booking details but it was just an unexpected level of instruction. Their replies on this page often says the guest asks about employment which is absolute nonsense. Rules were followed because it's their home but I would never recommend this place. Definitely wouldn't want to be back even if I was paid.
- Mariah (8/5): Very good -
- Lerato (8/5): Very good -
- Gibson (5/5): Passable - No television to watch
- Banda (7/5): Good -
- Sinazo (2/5): Very poor -
- Lehlogonolo (10/5): Exceptional - They have good communication skills, I was even able to communicate if I could arrive earlier as I had a bit of a problem. They understood.
- Cindy (1/5): Bad - Security are good Accommodation was not clean with smell on the blankets.
- Avuyile (1/5): Bad - Liked nothing. Hay this guest house should be closed. No, this is a no!!! Everything went south.
- Thulani (1/5): They still need to improve and respect their guest - Is absolutely nothing I did like done to go to sleep and to do with my next my work as usual the place was not appealing for me but I had to stay because I don't have any other chores The place was too noisy could enable to sleep early in the morning 6:00 everyone is starting to moving things around while people are sleeping cannot able to sleep or think today was worse before 7:00 right in my forehead there's a lot of banging in the side of my bad it dragging things around the room that I'm sleeping at was not pleasing for me I will never ever wish to go back there again they tell us that no noise but the noise is been built but the people that they with actually think that they will cooperate they are guest no TV allowed no noise allowed but was bad in the morning at night I don't know what is happening I was even scared maybe the place was not meant for me though but I had to stay I think what is important is for the satisfaction of the guest and the rest will come after when the gas moved out you can do ever you want because it's your place respect the guest respect the people that is supporting you and respect them as they respect you because they need a place to stay and to sleep so if there's if there's no common factorism when it comes to tolerating the surrounding people on actually go back and wish to go back there again or wish to book to be a accommodated in this place so for me for me I'll say I will never book this place again and good luck for a next people that they will keep on booking so that I can experience what the treatment that I experience all about because if you saying that no noise you must keep it that way must respect that again instead other people around them and this owner respect until they check out then you can do whatever you want because it's your place respect people not take advantage on them because they're supporting you as well as you do the favor to a commodity them remember those factisms this morning when I was about to leave I swear I had someone swearing at me saying that he's coming and then I realized that you know what I had I have no idea but I know that...
- John (5/5): Passable - Friendly host. No towels in bathroom.
No kettle in room
- Channa (4/5): Disappointing - Why do we have to provide our personal details upon stay, like Identity number and home address.
Passable if staying for one night just to rest and back to the airport.
- Richard (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ntsako (5/5): not bad but strict in terms of checking out. old furniture and no enough blankets - the place was quiet and cool sounds of squirrels or rabbits like outside
- Mtotoyi (7/5): Great place - Great guy that receives guests The place is in a not so good area, and cafew of 10pm
- Elora (1/5): Bad - Nothing Everything
- Lungiswa (1/5): Stop scamming people that R300 I paid , didn't fall from the tree I work hard for my money. - Nothing to like, was stranded in the middle of the night I had nowhere to go but he didn't open the gate for me and he blocked me when I was calling him.
