Mostly it was nice but the bacon was cooked well on one side but a little under done on the other. Came with a side of toast but no butter.

Unfriendly staff, long waiting time to be seated and served, and the food was only ok. Definitely will avoid if starting again.

- Monika (9/5): Brilliant weekend away - The hotel is lovely, staff are amazing, so friendly and attentive. Room was spotless, bathroom spacious and well designed. Underfloor heating in the bathroom was an extra bonus. Breakfast was great, many options and they were happy to accommodate my GF needs. The room type name on booking.com is misleading - room was called King, but the bed was only a double. This was a bit unexpected especially with my husband being 6'4. This was the only downside of our stay.

- Nick (3/5): Very disappointing and certainly not worth the money. - Location and staff The very noisy plumbing that kept me awake most of the night, no food available on Mondays and Tuesdays but was not informed. Bar closed at 10.15 when we returned from the restaurant that we had to walk to in the rain.

Amenities were in abundance, fresh water, coffee machine, tea & biscuits, gorgeous homemade little treats and a personalised message. Good quality food at breakfast. Useful fridge and safe. Car parking on site Bathroom was always cold - no visible switch for underfloor heating or towel warmer for towels and robes (fully tiled floor and walls). Nothing relating to bathroom temperature controls within the information booklet. TV really needs to be smart enough to be able to connect to customers apps with power socket close by. Very awkward to use light switches when in bed due to large lamp and positioning of the switches in relation to sitting in the bed. Although the room was fine, some of the corridors had "a strange smell to them" - including the stairway. Couldn't pin point what it was but similar to a mixture of dampness possibly mixed with perfumed reed diffusers??

As an independently run little hotel this place has tried to think of everything. They have come very close. - David (8/5): - Bed was comfy and the showing was very large, not sure about the coffee machine though not as enjoyable as I would have expected. We did enjoyed the breakfast very much. Staff were very good and attentive. Due to the wind the windows made thudding noises all night which meant we did not get a good nights sleep.

Staff were all amazing and so friendly. Couldn’t fault it. Would 100% recommend and look forward to returning soon

- Clive (9/5): Best hotel in the area. - Lovely building converted into a hotel with each of the 10 bedrooms rooms having their own style. The staff were excellent and our room was very comfortable. There appeared to be sufficient parking on the days we were there. We didn’t eat in the evening there but the dining room looked amazing. The breakfast lacked a little. Being a 5 star hotel the choice of breakfast items and its availability was limited, but what there was was freshly cooked. The breakfast area is shared with non hotel residents and so extras - such as a croissant were at an additional charge.

- Birkhead (3/5): Great food. Lacking basic standards of hotel maintenance. - The food was fantastic. The staff in the bar, restaurant and cafe brilliant. Being kept awake until midnight by loud music was not what we expected. Neither was a shower falling off the wall and landing on me. Basic hotel maintenance and guest safety are clearly not high on the priority list. The attitude when these were raised to the front of house team was very very disappointing and quite accusatory.
