• Raimund (8/5): Empfehlenswert - Einrichtung ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Alles sehr sauber, checking auf englisch 👍 Lage super, zu Fuß restaurants etc. gut erreichbar. Der Parkplatz sehr steil und glatte Pflastersteine dorthin, für mich als Motorrad Fahrer etwas tricky und nicht direkt am Haus, allerdings mit Kameras. Als Alleinreisender im 3er Zimmer ok...Für 3 Personen etwas klein.

• Melissa (8/5): Very good - The check in was easy as there were still people at reception when I arrived after 9pm, and all the staff were helpful throughout my stay. The room was fine and had aircon which was very much appreciated and needed. A good spot in town pretty much is the middle of everything once you get up the hill. Nothing really it was all good
• Manuela (9/5): Perfect stay in Weliko Tarnowo - Everything was perfect. The location, the staff and the accomodation. Very comfortable and pleasent. Parking was a bit difficult but it is normal because of the location.

• Kerry (10/5): - We stayed 4 nights and highly recommend Hotel Varusha. Everyone we met from checking in to our departure was friendly and helpful, even using a translation device to chat about the fascinating history of Veliko Tarnovo. The location is in the Old Town and in a good location for sightseeing, cafés and restaurants. Our room had a lovely view over the atmospheric orange -tiled rooftops to green hills beyond. The room was spotlessly clean, as was the bathroom. We didn't use the kitchenette facilities downstairs, but saw they were well stocked with cups, glasses etc. We hope to return one day, as we really enjoyed our stay.

Staff were incredibly friendly and helpful and tried their best to communicate very clearly as I don't speak Bulgarian. Room was very clean and comfortable and great for a short stay. • Galina (3/5): Poor - The heating was very well maintained, and the room was very warm. The location of the hotel is also very good, right in the city center. We were three people and the room was tiny. The beds were very uncomfortable. My dad also took the coffee from the reception but there was no price. He thought it was free as the man there did not charge him the first morning, but the second morning, he asked him to pay for 6 coffees (as we were three people) for both days. The man at the reception did not tell him how much or that it was paid and he couldn't see the prices anywhere. So do not get coffee from the reception, unless you want to pay one euro for a cup of coffee which would be 40 cents from the vending machines outside the hotel. They didn't issue a receipt for the coffee. Moreover, when we arrived on the first day and paid for our stay (3 people for two nights), we paid cash and didn't receive a receipt but my dad had to ask for it later in the day. So if he hadn't asked, we wouldn't have gotten one. Another thing is that on the description of the hotel on booking, it was mentioned that there is a communal kitchen available for usage, but when we asked where the kitchen was and if there was a fridge available for use, the woman there was so surprised that we needed a fridge and asked me: "What do you need it for?" What could I need a fridge for? Of course, we had brought some food we needed to put in a fridge. And then she specifically wrote down that we put some stuff there, so they do not close the kitchen in the evening. And when we didn't have anything in the fridge the second day, they even closed the kitchen. So be careful, you need to ask for it even though it should just always be available like it says in the hotel description and it is your right. It made me feel like it was an extra service I needed to beg for.

It would be better if the door for that building could be opened from the inside without using a key. That would enable people to leave quickly in case of fire or other disasters.

• Adina (8/5): Very good - The location is great. The room was cleaned. The bedsheets and towels were cleaned. The bathroom could be organize in such way that the shower to have it's own place, not in the middle of the bathroom, splashing water all over the place.

• Al-gareeb (8/5): Ok accommodation - An ok accommodation for a night of rest on the way to Greece. The attic apartment is quite simple, the bathroom is small and very low. The advantage is that it is located very close to the center, across the road is a restaurant with delicious food and they have parking spaces 200 meters above the hotel. Payment is made only in cash, in euros or leva. Small beds and bathroom.

• Helen (9/5): Cute room - I had a room on the top floor and it's really cute. No elevator but only 2 flights of stairs. It's located in the old town, 5 minutes walk from the most famous restaurant in town, many shops nearby. The staff is nice and poliet. A/c and TV, big plus.

• Catalin (6/5): To be improved - Close to center There is no private parking as advertised on booking, the parking is public and we were extremely lucky to find a place there. The receptionists are speaking basic English, communication was difficult, sad to see no one smiles to the customer, felt like communist era. With one exception though, the gentleman who came to repair the AC, despite speaking almost no English, he was extremely helpful, joyful and friendly. He should be your front person. Rooms are pretty basic, not very comfy. WiFi was decent. Except for location, can't recommend the hotel.

Hotel is 5 min away from both historic Samovodska chershia & town centre, 15 min walking to Tsarevetz fortress. We recommend Ego restaurant for dining ( great food, fast service)

• Gergana (4/5): Look for a better place to sleep. - We had a place to sleep. The hotel did not provide a room for us at the location that was listed on Booking. The staff lead us to another building far from the one on Booking and the view from the balcony was an old destroyed home. No, those were not ruins of a palace in Veliko Tyrnovo, but an old house that desperately needs repair. The bedding and towels were old and shower in the bathroom was broken so half of the water was unusable. There was no shampoo in the bathroom. I don't recommend this property.

The room was clean, the location is very good, in the center of the city, with easy access to the main attractions. Also the private hotel parking is a plus. The staff is friendly and helpful. I liked everything, here I will just write that this is a 1 star hotel, so don't expect facilities of a 3 or 4 star hotel, it is exactly as advertised.

• Daniela (2/5): Scam with the location - the place is clean and we parked in front of the villa I wrote this review because I think people should be informed correctly: the accommodation is at a different address than the one mentioned in the booking (I attach the picture), which is a villa at the top of a steep street. The price was low, but also unjustified for an accommodation that is not in the center, without breakfast, with basic facilities, non-separate shower over toilet, a small refrigerator in the hallway to be used by several rooms. I shared to the host my opinion on the misinformation regarding the address, he told me that the room could have been changed, but, it should be mentioned that he replied to my WhatsApp message after 3 days. He told me that "According to the general conditions of the booking.com site, a distance of up to 400 m from the objects does not need to be announced separately". Not even if there is a 400 m difference in level ??
• Debbie (10/5): Fruendly Comfortable Clean Overnight Stay - All of it. Good location off the main road so easy to find after I booked short notice after prwviously booked hostel dorm diety. Penj vwry helpful explained with bit of German bit of google translate. Goid sized room with private bathroom and a/c.TV was a bonus.Secure location and comfy night sleep too. I left my bag ehile viting the fortress which was kind of them.Rwadonable price too for 1 person. Nothing to dislike
• Petr (5/5): I expected more - 1) the facility provided no information on parking my car, as a result, the check in procedure was eventually very difficult 2) the accommodation was in fact provided at a different place/location than they advertise, the place was more distant and uphill from centre 3) they did not clean my room at all (not even even single time) during my 4 night stay 4) the facility is called hotel, however, they do not provide usual services like laundry wash, nor do they help find the service elsewhere
