• Dibyendu (10/5): It was a very pleasant stay, kids enjoyed the pool and sea beach. - It was a very pleasant stay, the room we stayed was very big and good aesthetics. Balcony Sitout was very nice to have. Room should have had a small fridge/bar setup.

• Champak (2/5): A poor stay at a good place. - The pool, and the room. The ambience was good. The drilling sound outside the room made the stay unbearable. It was dust all over. The staffs are not fast to serve the orders.
• Rehna (1/5): Wouldn't recommend mango hill - I liked the location and the pool area. The entrance had alot of construction and we were not informed of it. We booked the Thai cottage 10 days ahead and we were upgraded to a suite. The suite was not clean and it was smelly. The bathtub was broken and it was not clean. The ac was not working properly.

Common areas cleaned and sprayed for pests multiple times a day. They had a pool and a restaurant but we never used it. Terrible lighting in the room dependent only on cove and bedside lights. Toilet refused to flush properly and the tap never stopped running fully despite complaints to maintenance. Construction noise made it difficult to relax. Open car park only (but that's standard across the area so pretty low on the list).

• Atul (3/5): Not worth the money - The location was pretty good and the staff was very helpful. It's not value for money at all, paying an amount like that and getting the most ordinary looking room with a dysfunctional TV. I almost had to call the front desk for every little thing. I would have preferred staying at a hostel rather than this, the mattress wasn't comfortable at all.

• B (8/5): Except for the above, all very good. - The Breakfast was very good. I reach pondicherry at 5:00 AM. While booking i had specifically requested that i would be checking in early. The staff tried to charge me Rs.1500/- for early check in, even while it was a weekday and most of the rooms were available. After a bit of confusion, and time, the staff permitted me to check in without any additional charges.

The property needs little revamp, some of the wood logs were dismembered posing risk of harming while walking. Lift facility isn't there and our room was in 3rd floor, so had to climb stairs with elderly people

• Sengupta (5/5): Bad experience in the room and overpriced food. - The pool was good. Ample car parking. The room booked through this website was on the 3rd floor and there was no lift! This information that the room is on the 3rd floor was not informed during the booking. Moreover the room was made of prefab/reconstructed wood (not concrete) and hence it was very hot. The frequent power shut down and fluctuations ensure that AC was not working! 🤬 The food was absolutely overpriced. A small bottle of Sprite (usually Rs 20) was charged over 4 times higher!! The room has no refrigerator either, so there's no way to keep beavarage in the room. Overall, though it is a old property and we have visited during the pre pandemic time, but now it is not worth of the money spent. So don't go by the images and be cautious while booking.

The staff were also accommodating Facilities need to be improved. The rooms were not well equipped. We had upgraded to suite rooms. The one in the ground floor was good but the one in the first fooor was not upto the mark. Bed and pillows were not comfortable. The room was very dim. The bathroom had an unpleasant smell. Though there was a bathtub, there was no plug for the drain. So it could not be used.

• Lisann (8/5): Very good - This hotel exceeded my expectations. The rooms are clean and well equipped. We had a great view of the pool. The water was clean and the pool is great for relaxing. We were very positively surprised by the breakfast. The buffet offered a wide selection of Indian and international food. The reception was very committed and fulfilled all of our wishes. The service was excellent and it was fun to eat at the hotel and receive first-class service from the waiters Aruli, Israel and Sumit. However, we were occasionally bothered by smoke as leaves were being burned near the spa. The location is a bit away from the centre. You have to go 15 minutes by TukTuk.
• Dr. (4/5): beautifully photographed property with no proper management, staff and service - what a pity! - I liked the old-fashioned look of the hotel - the old parts have a certain charm. I liked the swimming pool with the tree in it The staff at the reception (with one exception: Diviya) were genuinely helpless, however, I felt bad for them as it is not even their fault - they are simply not qualified enough for such an expensive hotel. I traveled for two months in the South of India and stayed in some hotels which were only a tenth of the price but the staff were more competent. I had upgraded from a Chalet to Suite after the first booking but found out that the so-called suites have only one room (?) and a bathroom and are, in fact, no bigger than the chalets , so I wasted 20.000 Rupies extra for an upgrade that did not get me into a bigger room. In the booking it says that the Suite is 58 square metres, but that is clearly wrong. Look at the pictures of the suite, I do not even know where there would be extra room for an extra bed that you can apparently book. The service (e.g.: getting a cup of coffee to your room is VERY slow. From day two, I would order the coffee, then go and take my shower and still have plenty of time to get dressed and out on the balcony before I would get a cup of coffee. Breakfast could be enjoyable overlooking the pool if it were not for the crows and instead of paying attention to your table while you get up to get more food, the 5 boys stand together at the bar and watch videos on their phones while the crows are devastating your table. I suggested to a management colleague at Pondicherry University to turn the hotel into a management case study and help the management of the hotel to perform a total turn-around because the location and the particularly the old parts of the hotel have potential .

But of you are westerner then Indian breakfast is not what you really like. For us Westerners the quality of the bread and the jam was American quality, means very bad. This is strange because Auroville with its fantastic bakery is near and also many good jams are available in the supermarkets in Auroville. Breakfast: bread quality and jam quality was very bad!

Restaurant food was good Would have liked more choice at breakfast with some european options not just indian. A little way out of Pondicherry but we could have made more of the location than we did. Drinks were the dearest we paid in all of our trip round India. The pool could do with a renovate.
