Delene was fantastic in getting us settled and making sure we were always accommodated, whether it be something with the room, or information about any activities or restaurants in the area. The staff were extremely friendly, the breakfast option is a must and would 100% recommend a stay here. Safe, secure and in close proximity to all the restaurants. Thank you very much!

• Schorreels (10/5): Fantastische plaats om te logeren! Aan alle Belgen: hier boeken 👍 - Dit guesthouse is een absolute aanrader! Het ligt in een rustige, residentiële wijk van st Lucia. Heel mooie en ruime kamers met echt goede bedden. Lekker ontbijt! Maar het is vooral de vriendelijkheid van gastvrouw Deline waarom je hier moet boeken. Ze stond ons bij met raad en daad en zorgt dat je je echt welkom voelt. (Ze organiseerde onze safari’s en stond om 5:00 s’morgens klaar om zeker te zijn dat we in de juiste Jeep stapten.) Dit guesthouse was mijn absolute favoriet op onze reis door Kwazulu Natal.
• Friedrich (10/5): Erstklassiger Service in traumhafter Umgebung - Unser Aufenthalt im St Lucia Hilltop Guest House war einfach fantastisch. St Lucia selbst ist eine herrlich ruhige und angenehme Stadt, und diese Unterkunft ist die perfekte Basis dafür. Schon bei der Ankunft wurden wir positiv überrascht: Das Personal war extrem hilfsbereit und hat uns sofort beim Entladen der Koffer am Parkplatz unterstützt – ein toller Service! Die Atmosphäre ist sehr familiär und man fühlt sich sofort willkommen. Besonders genossen haben wir den Pool, der in einen wunderschönen, gepflegten tropischen Garten eingebettet ist. Auch das Frühstück ließ keine Wünsche offen und war ein super Start in den Tag. Wir kommen definitiv wieder

• Petra (10/5): Ein toller Aufenthalt in St. Lucia! - Traumhafte Lage in St. Lucia in einer Villengegend. Bei Ankunft haben wir ein Upgrade auf ein großes Appartement erhalten. Das Auto kann direkt vor den Zimmern geparkt werden. Tolle Anlage, schöner sauberer Pool mit Liegestühlen. Getränke auf Vertrauensbasis. Leandra hat uns sehr liebevoll empfangen. Bereits im Vorfeld waren wir über Ausflüge informiert worden, so dass wir direkt bei Ankunft buchen konnten. Tolles umfangreiches Frühstück, das keine Wünsche offen lässt. Während unserer drei Tage dort hat sich Leandra immer wieder erkundigt, ob wir zufrieden sind oder ob noch etwas fehlt. Perfekt! Wir kommen gerne wieder! Die Hippos am Abend im Ort sollte man einfach mal gesehen haben! Wurst und Käse auf dem Buffet sollten besser gekühlt werden. Sonst war alles perfekt!

• Urte (10/5): Wir kommen wieder - der Gast ist König wird hier in jedem Bereich umgesetzt. - Das geräumige Zimmer mit direktem Poolzugang ist mit Ventilator und Klimaanlage ausgestattet, liegt jedoch direkt neben dem Frühstücksraum. Das Doppelwaschbecken und die Dusche sind nicht vom Zimmer abgetrennt. Das Frühstücksbüffet läßt keinen Wunsch unerfüllt! Zudem wurde auf meine vorher bekanntgegebenen Lebensmittel-Unverträglichkeiten Rücksicht genommen, und die speziellen Produkte in einem separaten Kühlschrank gelagert. Die Unterkunft liegt in einem ruhigen Wohngebiet 10 Min. fußläufig vom Strand und 20 Min. zu Fuß von der Hauptstraße (Restaurants, Geschäfte) entfernt. Das Zimmer mit Poolzugang liegt jedoch direkt neben dem Frühstücksraum, so daß morgens Stimmen und Geschirrgeklapper gedämpft zu hören sind. Etwas mehr Schrankplatz oder Ablagefläche wäre wünschenswert.

• Falk (10/5): Schnuckeliges kleines familiengeführtes Boutique Hotel - Wir waren auf unserer Südafrika Rundreise im November 2025 für drei Nächte in diesem tollen Hotel und können es bedenkenlos weiterempfehlen. Wir durften bei der Ankunft uns ein Zimmer aussuchen. Wir waren von der Gastfreundlichkeit total begeistert. Thea ist definitiv die gute Seele dieses Gasthauses. Unkomplizierter Check in und tolle Beratung was Unternehmungen betrifft. Frühstück war außergewöhnlich und Zimmer sauber und gepflegt. Außenbereich mit Pool klein aber fein. Liebevolle Details in den Zimmern und im Eingangsbereich. Lage in einer Nebenstraße, fußläufig alles zu erreichen. Parkplätze ausreichend vorhanden. Urlaubsadresse wo Preis-Leistung stimmt. Wenn wir noch einmal nach St. Lucia kommen werden wir definitiv dieses Hotel wieder buchen. Es gab nichts zu bemängeln.

• Sasha (10/5): - The facilities at the accommodation including : the small fridge in the room, being able to use the large fridge and freezer to store larger items, being able to use their Cooler box and icepacks for the day, with prior notice they can pack your breakfast for the morning should you have an early start prior to breakfast time slot. Very clean and well kept with aircon and fan in the room, good water pressure. Debbie was amazing, greeted every morning and asked about day prior and planned day ahead with always willingness to ask if theres anything we may need.

• Kwanele (10/5): - This guesthouse is exceptional in every sense. The cleanliness, comfort and attention to detail are impressive. The manager's friendliness (Leandra) and professionalism make the stay even more enjoyable. It’s clear that guest satisfaction is a top priority👌. Nothing, the only downside was us packing our bags to leave😂😂.

• Mholi (10/5): This place is the go to place value for money and got to see the hippos roaming at night . - Every time I go on a holiday breakfast is a must have and it has to be good and that is what I got from the "Hilltop guesthouse". The place is clean beds comfortable and the main host Leandra was a "bombshell " very very nice to have around very friendly and her staff wonderful. We were welcomed by hippos upon arrival and later got the see the crocodile and have a game drive , boat cruise, shopping for the wife now that is an accessory hardly ever mentioned. The go to restaurant for a nice meal is Braza,Graca, they have the best seafood and steak that is well prepared as per request. Guys guys there is a lot to see and do at St Lucia besides seeing the "Elephant hotel" terrible experience. Overall experience I would rather Hilltop stay 💯. My visit to the Elephant hotel was a terrible experience. The staff there are horrible horrible. I had a special request to book a table for by family with special requests and the manager from the dining area "Shaun" had promised us a great evening but later failed to deliver not even prepare something close to our request. The biggest problem is running out of food now that is a horrible experience. I don't recommend the "Elephant hotel" to anyone not even for viewing it's a nightmare unless you really would like to have your own horrible experience you are more then welcome.

Wir haben uns rundum wohlgefühlt und haben nichts zu meckern. Wir waren froh, dass wir gleich für 5 Nächte hier waren und alles in aller Ruhe genießen konnten.

• Bianca (10/5): Hipptastische Unterkunft - Bereits im Vorhinein nahm Thea mit uns Kontakt auf und organisierte zwei Ausflüge, eine Halbtagessafari in den Hluhluwe-Nationalpark und eine Hippo&Croc-Bootstour, mit Abholung direkt beim Hotel. Das Hotel selbst hat eine ausgezeichnete Lage, bietet ein fantastisches Frühstück und Thea war sehr bemüht und kümmert sich liebevoll um die Gäste, auch das man abends nach Sonnenuntergang nicht zu Fuß unterwegs ist, aufgrund der Hippos die sich dann entlang der Straßen aufhalten.

• Sjoerd (6/5): Under expectation - Location is just outside the center in a good neighborhood. Everything is a small 5 minutes drive. Breakfast is fresh and diverse with many good choices and daily changes. Rooms and appliances are dated and wet/moldy, and the beds are due for replacement. Additionally, it is noisy because the walls are thin.

• Diana (10/5): Exceptional - I booked two rooms here for family members, yet I stayed next door because neither property had room for our family group of 12. I'm leaving a review to commend and thank Thea for her help with booking our rooms, our return (round-trip) transfer from the Durban airport (KSIA) to St Lucia and to dinner in St Lucia every night we were there, and especially with booking our half day trip to Isimangaliso Wetlands Park and Cape Vidal, our hippo and crocodile cruise in St Lucia, and our full-day trip to Hluhluwe-Imfalozi National Park. She responded promptly and cheerfully through WhatsApp to all my queries, sometimes even with a voice message that I found charming. She took care of every possible detail and all our arrangements were perfect. We had written to each other so much that I felt like she was an old friend by the time we arrived. The property itself is lovely and even has a small gift shop and some drinks and snacks available for purchase. Our family members loved their rooms and reported that breakfast was delicious. It was all good!
