• Oliver (10/5): - Sehr Gastfreundlich, haben uns bei allem geholfen, sogar als wir eine Beule an unserem Jeep hinterlassen haben, haben sie mit unserem Vermieter gesprochen und den Schaden deutlich herunter gehandelt. Super nett. Frühstück gut, Betten und Zimmer gut. Abendessen sehr lecker. Angenehm überdachte Veranda. Nichts auszusetzen. Wir haben uns dort sehr wohl gefühlt

• Iveta (10/5): Určitě se tady ubytujte. - Snídaně se objednávala dopředu a vždy jsem měli všem co jsme chtěli. Ubytování je v krásné zahradě, v malých domcích afrického typ. Personál byl moc milý a ochotný. Poloha je kousek od jezera. Moc se nám tu líbilo, bylo to jedno z nejhezčích míst, kde jsme bydleli. V ubytování je také restaurace. Vaří výborně, jen je třeba počítat s dlouhou dobou čekání. Potraviny chodí nejdříve nakupovat a pak vaří. Ale čekání stojí za to, určitě víte, že je vše čerstvé. Doporučení: objednejte si dopředu na určitou hodinu. V pátek byla diskotéka ve "městě", která byla dost hlasitá. Ale chápeme, že tohle ubytování nemůže ovlivnit. Jinak jsme byli moc spokojeni se vším.

The lake is only a few hundred metres walk away. The staff were smiling and friendly. No bar fridge The restaurant prices were expensive

• Yasmina (9/5): A True Hidden Gem by Lake Victoria – Romantic, Peaceful, and Full of Charm! - Secret House in Entebbe truly lives up to its name : a hidden little paradise just a few steps from Lake Victoria and surrounded by small local shops and food stands that make the experience authentic and easy-going. The place feels both peaceful and romantic. The room and bathroom are huge, beautifully decorated, with a high ceiling, elegant wooden floors, and simple yet tasteful details everywhere. There’s even a small sitting area right outside, in a lovely and well-kept garden... perfect for relaxing. The atmosphere is calm and intimate, ideal for couples or anyone who enjoys the lake vibe. The receptionist was polite and helpful, calm in pace, yet attentive and made sure my early morning taxi to the airport was perfectly arranged. My partner left a bit later. The night manager was especially kind, even offering extra sauce for the fresh fish we bought by the lake and enjoyed at the guesthouse : such a thoughtful and memorable gesture. The price list on the menu and the one on the board could be a bit clearer, and a few food options were unavailable during our stay. A breakfast bag was kindly prepared for my early flight, which was appreciated, though it felt a little basic given that breakfast was included in the room rate. Adding a swimming pool would truly make this place heaven on earth but even without it, Secret House is perfectly named: a hidden, lovely spot by the lake, ideal for a romantic getaway or a peaceful last stop before flying out of Entebbe.
• Markus (10/5): Super Entspannt. - Die Lage 400m vom Victoriasee is Top. In der Nähe sind Strand Bars und Restaurants. Wenn mann bald genug das Lunch oder Dinner bestellt am besten morgens. Wirds frisch vom Markt geholt und gekocht. 2 Std Vorlauf ist das mindeste. Aber die Qualität und der Geschmack auf hohem Niveau. Das Personal ist sehr Bemüht und freundlichst. Wer Afrika kennt darf hier nicht mekkern. Das Frühstück ist Landestypisch sehr gut. Alles Super, war 2 Nächte da und komme wieder. Es gab nichts das Nachteilig wäre.

(8/5): Een goed verblijf volgens de via email gemaakte afspraak - Omdat wij door problemen op de airport na middernacht pas konden inchecken, waren we blij door de eigenaar ontvangen te worden. Het op ons verzoek voor-verpakte ontbijt stond klaar. In de vroege ochtend weer vertrokken. Er was maar een lamp aan het plafond in de grote kamer.

• Dawn (10/5): Wonderful place with great hosts and staff. - We have been staying here when we arrive at the airport for years. They hired managers for awhile that didn’t do a good job so they have taken it back over and it’s wonderful. I love the location since it’s set in a quiet village near Lake Victoria. Staff has always been wonderful and food always good. Only thing missing is a pool. That would be the best. But it’s a great place.

• Monique (7/5): Quick stay but would recommend to others. - The owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. They arranged taxis for us and gave us tips and suggestions about the area. The rooms were simple and clean. The rooftop deck was lovely and the food was well prepared and tasty. The location was great because it was surrounded by a local neighbourhood but unfortunately that also made it a bit noisy. Nothing that some ear plugs couldn't fix though!

We had a very early morning flight and they arranged for a car to take us to the airport in the middle of the night. They also made us a delightful dinner that evening. It was a short stay but perfect for what we needed!

• Catherine (8/5): Great overnight in Entebbe - This is a perfect place to sleep when you have come into Entebbe on a late night plane. The hotel organises a shuttle for a very reasonable price. The rooms are clean and spacious and the beds are comfortable. The breakfast is reasonable.

• Harder (9/5): Beautiful, well appointed rooms, relaxing atmosphere:) - Beautiful room with a patio and chairs out front, which was not expected, pleasantly surprised. Private, quiet location, walking distance to ferry. Lovely rooftop patio for dinner. Bathroom was very clean and well set up for travel with places to put toiletries (even included a few toiletries). Excellent value for the price. We were even helped arranging a taxi for a future date when we will be passing through. This place is a hidden gem:) The credit card machine wasn’t working when we checked in to pay, otherwise we would’ve given this a 10/10:)

The property felt private and comfortable. It was fairly close to the airport which made it perfect for a quick one night layover. Bed was a little saggy in the middle.

• Jo (10/5): Hidden Oasis - Secrets is a lovely well maintained establishment. I arrived here on Friday for a one night stay but my plans changed last minute and I had to extend by a day, though to be honest, I was not disappointed. This establishment is family run; the hosts were very warm and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast was tasty, extensive and filling and, for a small additional cost, dinner was provided, which was just as delicious and filling. I was given the option of a couple of rooms, which was nice. Each had their own character but were spacious and clean; showers were hot which is what you need after a long journey. If there's a negative, I wish I could have stayed a couple of days longer but I will be back. I had to leave 😪

The food was exceptional, and I wish I could have this at home as well. Lyarnah, the new manager, the daughter of the original owners, has done an amazing job to raise the standards back to what they were with the owners; as well as providing wonderful experience for a single traveller that doesn't know the area well. Very informative with suggesting places and attractions around the country that I should visit. I didn't like that my stay was only for a day. Next time I will book to stay a little longer.

• Sarah (9/5): Beautiful location with warm welcome - Angella was brilliant with all the communication before arrival and cooking, and Simon was brilliant with extensive knowledge humbly offered when there. They could not have been more helpful. It is a beautiful compound the kids enjoyed running around in. The up-front prices for the artwork they display on the walls, and the bird book for sale, we're very welcome. Thank you all. The mosquito nets had holes so we used our own the first night. However, on telling Simon, the staff immediately offered to change their nets, which was great.

• Lynn (8/5): Clean, quiet home away from home guest house - The host and staff were very helpful and hospitable. I missed my flight which disorganised my stay dates. However, Angella ( the lovely host) re-booked everything for me, arranged an airport pick up for me at 415am We didn't leave the airport until 5am but I found my driver happily waiting for me. I was welcomed by a polite friendly gentleman and assisted me with my luggage to my room ( A whole chalet, 3 beds..lucky me)! There is freshly made tasty food everyday on request for lunch and dinner. My breakfast was a local speciality of matooke and fish. Very tasty! I loved the powerful hot shower especially after a long flight. The guest house is tucked away in a quiet neighborhood ( just about 10-15 mins drive away from Entebbe town)one can enjoy a peaceful quiet sleep. It felt like home away from home. I would definitely return to stay. Nothing I can think of. All was great

We were greeted by the manager when arriving that was quite late in the evening in a super friendly way. She also offered us some snacks because we could not have dinner due to our late flight. She was very nice and made us feel at home. Great place to stay in Entebbe!

They arranged for an excellent driver who accommodated our large amount of luggage without any problems. We had an entirely positive experience :)
