- Helen Cristina (2/5): - Firstly we were given a terrible room that was not what we saw on the picture described in Expedia. I am a Platinum member and Expedia did not inform this to the hotel. Our room the first night was under the 20 square meters they say it had. It had tiny windows, small and clausthrophobic all noises were heard in that room from hallways and room next door. Shower was ridiculous we did not even shower this first night. We complained about this room though some staff tried to help by calling Expedia, nothing was resolved based on the high price paid for this first night. We managed to change to a better room Saturday after noon but the hassle of moving and dealing with this impaired us from enjoying the day. We spoke to the Manager and he assured would speak to Expedia and figure something out. We expected some consideration and adjustment of the price for the first night as €372 for a room that in two days was around €60 was a rip off. I am very dissapointed with Expedia as my trusted agency and being a Platinum member and the Manager of this hotel that did not do anything regarding the fair discount we asked for the first night Which was a terrible Experience between the cramped space and all that noise.

Sadly the room we were given was much smaller than the booking websites suggested and they didn’t have any other options in the same price range. The experience itself would likely be much better for families but us as a couple it didn’t feel very authentic and very much like a generic luxury resort that just happened to be in Tuscany. The food was expensive for the quality and the village where most of the rooms are doesn’t feel genuine since most of properties seem to be part of this hotel. The restaurant options are limited and clearly tailored around the half board experience which we’re not massive fans of. Maybe if we’d done more research we would’ve known. Overall I can’t fault it as a hotel experience but as a authentic Tuscan on it falls short and we wouldn’t go again.

Hotel is located at the top of a mountain and you get to over see the vineyards and cities., absolutely beautiful views. The only downside is the hotel only has 2 restaurants that offer diner and they alternate on which night they are opened, you also need reservations in advance and even then tables with a view are not guaranteed.

We were three in each of the rooms and there was no chance to make the personnel that prepared/cleaned the rooms to understand they needed to give un plates and cups for three people. Also had to ask for toillet paper. On the contrary the personnel at the breakfast area was absolutelly great. In particular Mrs Tyss, she was really kind and attentive.

I would recommend this as a getaway for you alone or to take a group of friends or family. The food is excellent. The staff is wonderful and I would stay here again on my next trip to Italy.

The only downside was that the spa included in price was booked all the time and reservations was required, limit to 6 people at a time for two hours. We were there for two nights and was able to go once to the spa due to a cancellation, would have been nice to experience it daily especially when traveled with kids and needed much time to relax with my husband. Restaurants around the area were overbooked especially at lunch time which was annoying since we had to walk to many asking if they have availability… The one restaurant that was open and available all time, the food wasn’t all that good. Otherwise we did enjoy it and kids loved the pools.

- Sara (8/5): A tale of two experiences - Have you ever felt split in two? But your heart says yes. The location and environment were absolutely amazing... I'm at a loss for words. The view was breathtaking, with stunning scenery that made every moment feel magical. Whether we were strolling through the picturesque surroundings or simply soaking in the atmosphere, the beauty of the place was truly unparalleled. But the room... it was claustrophobic, dark, and so noisy that it felt like we were sharing the space with others. We had rooms above us and on both sides, and we heard everything—a baby crying, a couple arguing in the middle of the night, and every time someone left or entered their room. I’m sure they have a lot to say about us as well, of course. So, if you are a light sleeper, it might be good to either mention it in advance or bring earplugs with you. I did neither. However, the personnel were amazing. They surprised us with a bottle of prosecco after we mentioned how we felt about the situation. I know it won't change the thin walls, but it certainly made us forgive them and forget. Special mention to the pool staff and the porter, who did everything they could and even more. Their kindness and effort truly added an extra star to our stay. Honestly, I would visit again, now that I know what to expect and can prepare for it. ❤️
- David Donaldson (10/5): - This was our sixth visit and it still lives up to expectation. It is situated within walking distance to Artimino which has several restaurants all offering different dining experiences. Our favourite place was situated in the piazza by the museum and has only recently opened - Artimino Pizza & Vino. The owner, Solange was very friendly and accommodating - excellent food and wine at reasonable prices. Our only slight issue was in relation to the opening times of the hotel bar, sometimes it was closed at unusual hours, however, the pool bar did offer a backup for refreshments. We would definitely return.

The drive there is very windy and difficult, so be prepared, but it is well worth it. There was a horrible smell at our villa (probably the AC). They changed us to a different room the next day. We understand the need to maintain a level or originality but that can be achieved whilst keeping it clean and updating bathrooms and furniture. The sofas were extremely filthy with stains and odor. The beds were incredibly hard, 3 days was barely doable. That said: Don’t let my honest review detract you from coming here. My reasoning for leaving this review is in hopes management will come across it and empower somebody to make some much needed improvements. Truth be told, our stay at Tenuta Di Artimino was the perfect way to cap off our tour of Italy.

Our room was one of the Borgo apartments, it was spacious and clean with a small fridge, microwave and a cooking hob. We dined out most nights, there are several restaurants all within close proximity offering classic Italian dining. The staff at the hotel were efficient and very helpful offering excellent customer service - thankfully speaking very good English. The parking facilities were good both by the apartments and the hotel - although we didn’t use the car very much as it’s a lovely walk from the village to the hotel. Will definitely be back!

- William (10/5): Nearly perfect.. just outside of Florence. - Remarkable.. a last-minute trip to Florence (Firenze) had all the Florence hotels booked (except the stupid expensive ones and we needed 2 rooms) so we stayed here. All I can say is our next time in the area, we will stay in this property and drive in to Florence when we want to see the city. The views were spectacular. The staff was amongst the best you will have anywhere. Some of the rooms were newly renovated and still had some gotchas, although I am sure they will be fixed soon. I can absolutely understand why so many people have their weddings here. If you stay here, absolutely try the "just off the property" restaurant called Da Delfina (yelpers - go check it out). If you want to visit Florence, this is the way to do it. You can enjoy the stunning beauty of the countryside and drive in to spend the days in the city. You can thank me later ;-) This was an "accidental find" but a place we will certainly visit again.

- BERTHA (6/5): - The hotel is located in secluded area , the views are beautiful , the room i was offered was very small aswell the bathroom i could barely fit in the shower, the turn off was that their A/C system was not working , i had to call reception to get a fan cause even though that temperature outside was nice inside the room was hot , i was very upset the day i arrived because of this situation but later i tried to enjoy the views and forget about the fact that it was hot in the room, the things i liked was they offer salvatore ferragamo amenities in the bathroom i thought it was very classy , the bed sheets and pillows very cozy , great blackout to sleep and very quiet hotel overall , the breakfast buffet and a la carte both very good and great service, walking the property and the places around amazing , things i didnt like the A/C not working and room too small , i dont think this is a luxury hotel is more like a 3 star i would say , i was expecting to be pampered in a resort with all the comfort but it didnt happened
- Robert (10/5): - We did not stay in the main building. The chateau you see is an event space and used daily. The rooms are 300 yards away in what use to be the old town. They preserved the old feel but put every modern convenience in every apartment. There are multiple restaurants in the room area. And very good. I highly recommend you try the cheese cake at breakfast. Ooo. Definitely take the breakfast it's wonderful!!! I'll be back

The hotel staff were very accommodating and attentive and coped with the COVID situation very well. Breakfast was served on an individual basis respecting the social distancing rules. This is our third visit and certainly won’t be our last!

Outstanding breakfast with local dairy products, fresh fruit, delicious cakes and the best cappuccino - wonderful! Our rental car helped us to get around in this rural area of the Tuscany.

- Mrs Sara (6/5): Great location/poor hotel service and amenities - There is no doubt that Tenuta di Artimino is a hotel in a stunning location.....sadly the service and facilities at the hotel do not match. This was our third stay in artimino, originally recommended by family who have holidayed there for over ten years. First year, we stayed in La Fagginae apartments....a walk down a long dusty road from the main hotel but buestifully furnished. Last year, the apoartment offered was poly, dark with very basic bathrooms overlooking a car park(impossible to move in the shower). This year, we booked the hotel in the hope the facilities would be better. Hotel rooms are close to main pool and breakfast which is good. However, they are dark with no natural light and bathrooms are not to standard. Our second room (family of five) had a bath Nd no shower. Our bathroom was small and electrical appliances are concerning. Hairdryer is plugged into wall/mains electric with no nozzle so hair gets burned easily. European adapters do not work in these rooms so we were left without ability to charge phones as a family of five and had to rely onnour family to supply old adapters. Staff range from very helpful to curt/borderline rude. Reception staff are generally indifferent. Consider carefully whether to take children to this resort -our children were told off for using pool inflatables but had to sit and watch other children using theirs without issue. When I complained and asked for consistency (2018 pool inflatables were not a problem)

- Richard (8/5): Beautiful property - Beautiful place to stay. Overall we had a great time and enjoyed staying at this beautiful property. Some of the dishes in the restaurant were not well prepared (mixed seafood secondi), however, and sometimes the waiter service in the restaurant could have been better. Also the spa experience was poor, my wife did not feel comfortable during her massage with the man. The hotel is in a beautiful location and the wine from the estate was very good.

The caste next to the hotel is a wedding location and there for a lot of noice disturbance, music. That spa is not in the same building but 500 meters away.

However, this was a big let down. First, it's not at the hotel, but you have to walk aproximately 15 minutes to get there. Included in the stay is 2 hours of SPA. However, when we were there it turned out that they wanted us to leave after 1½ hour. As we were booked between 18:00-20:00 and it was only 19:25 when they told us to leave, we hung around for about 5 minutes. Shortly after they pretty much threw us out. This was a BIG dissappointment and on top of it, the Steam sauna was broken, the whirlpool was cold (?!) and they had private treatments in the ONLY working sauna. They even asked their other clients if they wanted us to leave since they had booked the sauna, which would've left us with NO place to be. On the positive side: * The Villa is beautiful * The living quarters (separate building) were nice and the rooms nice and tidy * The staff at the actual hotel were polite, friendly and helpful. * The breakfast was a big plus with lots to choose from. * The nearby town was perfect for one or two days of relaxation. All in all, a nice place to stay - as long as you don't expect anything from the SPA.
