Guest Reviews
- Leila (6/5): - Posizione comoda,
- michaelwC9812AZ (10/5): Lovely , quirky hotel in the edge of Orléans old town - The Jackotel is very conveniently situated on the edge of the old town which has a full range of excellent restaurants and a great buzz. The hotel is wonderfully quirky, changing little from the ‘70s I’d imagine but the rooms and bathrooms have been upgraded and it’s spotlessly clean. Parking in the courtyard is a massive plus
- Martin (6/5): Very basic - Average stay. Wifi not working well in room. When i went to reception the "helpful" comment was "it works fine here". Breakfast was very basic, with no meat choice. Thankfully i was only travelling through and staying one night.
- Pierre (10/5): Je recommande vivement - Accueil chaleureux. Très bonne literie. Chambre très propre. Excellente situation au coeur historique d Orleans.
- Andrew (8/5): - Perfect location for quick overnight stop. Hotel a little tired but perfectly adequate. Spotlessly clean and great location to access town, shops, restaurants and tourist locations. Very good value for money, but don’t expect five star.
- Cands38 (6/5): Basic, dated but ideally located with parking. - The hotel is perfectly placed to explore Orléans, there is a place to park your car and it is located in a nice part of town near a church and boule court.
The hotel was VERY basic and rather dated but did the trick for a 1 night stop over. We had a room for the 3 of us. The bed was reasonably comfortable. It was clean but needs a serious refresh of its decor. A shower curtain would have been a great help. For the price it did its job.
It had free WiFi which worked well also. We did not sample the food as the centre of town with some lovely places to eat was only a few mins walk.
- Chandra (8/5): - It is a budget hotel that served our purpose very well. It’s a bit run down but my family of 4 was comfortable there. The breakfast was nothing fancy but still very good. If you are English be aware that the staff did not seem to have any English at all.
- antonella (8/5): - Personale accogliente e disponibile. Se dovessi ritornare prenoterei presso questa struttura
- Heidi (8/5): - Very good two star hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful and it was clean and spacious. The bed was also comfortable and they served a good continental breakfast. The look of the property is a little dated, as if it's still in the 1980s but this did not detract from the experience. It also had character in that the hotel is in a medieval 'clos' attached to the abbey which still stands across the square. The middle of the square, between the hotel and the abbey, is used as petanque pitches and it was fun to watch the players as we walked in from dinner. If there was any noise, it was from the celebrations of winning teams! The hotel was a stone's throw from the city centre and the cathedral and there was a huge selection of restaurants nearby, serving just about every world cuisine. Just one note about parking - the hotel says it cannot guarantee parking and that it is on a first come, first served basis. This is right and they will do their utmost to accommodate all drivers (and cyclists). There is parking within the hotel's courtyard and they also have access to a few spaces in an underground car park. If all of those spaces are taken, then there is (paid for) parking on the surrounding roads. We were always able to find a space within the hotel.
- Gabriel (8/5): - El desayuno es dulce pero correcto.
- Florian (6/5): - Stadtnah, urig. Praktisch
- Philip (8/5): - Basic but clean. No shower fitting to hold shower head. Rooms very dated but have a weird charm. Excellent location. Beautiful spot.
- Mario (8/5): - This is a good hotel to stay in for a few days in Orleans. The building is old and the hotel is a bit dated but price-value is very reasonable. Only a few blocks away from the hotel you’ll be in a very vibrant restaurant and shopping area, walking down a few blocks further the historic district is waiting for you. Jackotel is very well located. Our stay in the hotel made our visit enjoyable. During summer you need to know that heat will punch you in the room as it has no AC. If you need a taxi, the receptionist will call it for you and it’ll be waiting outside very shortly.
- Debbie (8/5): Great location - After a slight blip trying to check in, the stay was fine. Hotel is in excellent location, has parking and is clean.
Overall it's a little tired and could do with a refresh, but then the price would go up so, for what you pay it's a great place to stay.
- Vibeke (4/5): - Beliggenhed er i top. Dejlig by.
- Roger (10/5): - Great location and comfortable room.
- Nathalie (10/5): - Very warm welcome. The room was very large. Easy to park and very convenient to walk to Orléans city centre and to the quais. Plenty of places to eat around 10 minutes walk from the hotel. Good night sleep and nice breakfast. I would definitely stay there again if I went back to Orléans.
- Philip (8/5): Dated charm - Although in a beautiful setting, with a lovely courtyard and in a lovely part of Orlean, the hotel was very dated. But it still had a charm about it.
- Jack (10/5): - In a good location—helpful staff—easy parking
- Claude (4/5): Staying for the location ONLY. - Friendly people at front desk but Hotel is outdated, humidity smell, old matresses, and room without any amenities. Basic breakfast. This place would need big tender loving care. But perfect LOCATION for visiting old Orleans.
- Veronika (8/5): Great location in Orleans - Great location in the middle of the city. Very convenient for walking to all the attractions.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Sehr gutes Preis Leistungsverhältnis, gerne wieder.
- CORNEL-LIVIU (4/5): - That hotel is stuck somewhere in the 70s. That was the last time someone gave it a lick of paint. The bathroom was not great. If you are used to modern hotels, don't go there. It has it's charm, hopefully someone will bring that location in 21 century.
- Andrea (4/5): - Hotel vecchio e trasandato.
- Dirk (10/5): - Very close to the city center, but the breakfast was a bit meager
- Werner (8/5): - Very friendly staff. Room old and basic, but absolutely sufficient. Everything was very clean. Breakfast also basic, but good. Parking in the basement of the hotel. City center (restaurants and bars) at short walking distance. Overall a pleasant place to stay for a night.
- Christoph (10/5): - Freundliche empfang.
Cependant bon rapport qualité-prix.
- Stefano (4/5): - The staff were very accommodating and the cost of the accommodation was well priced. Unfortunately, I got bitten by what I suspect to be bed bugs. I checked out 1-day earlier without any extra cost, so I do appreciate this.
- R (4/5): jackotel - Arrived at the hotel and was greeted by the receptionist who could not speak much English book in and was presented with a bill which did not show my Discount and she did not understand so had to pay. We also booked Breakfast for the 4 mornings and was charged 8 euros each and i must admit it was very poor would not stay there again Room was big enough and bathroom a nice size but the bath i could not sit in it and the shower was one you had to hold not very good very small tele with only french on it no english news.
- Andrew (8/5): - Excellent value for money in a convenient position
- Alain (10/5): Super séjour - hotel bien placé ,propre ,confortable.
Personnel tres aimable
Calme propre
Simple
- Francisco (8/5): Orleans - Bon sejour
Dommage.
- Christoph (8/5): Freundliche, hilfsbereite Gastgeber - Hilfsbereite Gastgeber Familie.
Rezeption sprach kein Englisch obwohl angegeben
- Jiang (8/5): - Koselig stedet
- Michael (8/5): - Staff were friendly and helpful, location was pleasant and convenient, reception area was calm and relaxing, garage was good (and necessary). Room a decent size, bed was comfortable.
Poor shower with no screen/curtain, WiFi reception in the (2nd floor) room very poor, no tea/coffee equipment, breakfast very average.
- KHADIDJA INGRID (8/5): - Je recommande vivement
Deco assez "old style"
- HM (10/5): Central and cheap - Very central hotel, with everything you need
- mireille (8/5): - Very close walking distance to downtown
- Ruud (8/5): - Fijn hotel, prima locatie. Alleen internet deed het niet zo goed
- Sarah (8/5): - Great location, clean , basic facilities one criticism, it was ver hot with no fan or air con
- katemJ9674OS (8/5): Great location for Orleans sites. Clean and friendly - Really like this place. Welcoming. Basic but v clean which made all the difference. Great location. Has a no nonsense charm about the place and the staff are just lovely. Breakfast was great - lovely fresh croissants and bread, cereals, jams, yoghurt.
- Daniel (8/5): - Well situated close to the center in a quiet area, however if you have a room over the entrance patio, it's noisy du to gravels and guests cars. Very friendly and helpful staff.
No curtains in the bath tub , thus making the shower experience not very enjoyable, when trying to avoid turning the bathroom into a pool.
- Wayne (6/5): Good location - Hotel needs a bit of tlc but great location. Breakfast was poor, room ok.
- Bob (8/5): - Prettig gelegen op loopafstand van centrum. Parkeren op eigen terrein. Enigszins gedateerde maar keurig nette kamers. Frans ontbijt tegen geringe meerprijs. Rustig.
- INKA97 (4/5): Nice Hotel With Major Faults - Nice Hotel with clean rooms.
The breakfast was sufficent and has a large variety.
The oldtown is within walking distance; aprox. 10 min.
I'm sorry to say but there were three issues wich were not so pleasant.
I can understand that due to covid, the situation is not easy.
The clerk at the front desk seemed over 80 years old. He could hardly hear nor read, which made the communication hard and impossible if you didn't speak French. He was still there the next morning. I felt sorry for him .
They offer parking places at the hotel but when they are occupied, you have to make a small odyssey through the ancient town and no GPS will find the entrance. The old man went with me in my car to show me. So nobody was at the front desk.
The worst case was in the bathroom. In the bathtap you have to pull the button on the faucet permanently to get water out ouf the shower. Plus the hot water is to hot, so you burn yourself, or to cold.
In our case we wouldn't come back here although the price was alright.
- Clevis (10/5): - a localização é extraordinária
- howard (8/5): - Good quite old hotel very near the old town and Rhone river .
Friendly owners
A recommander
- Dawn (8/5): Great position but parking can be tricky - Arrived in the evening and found parking difficult and had to park on a meter a fair distance away. Hotel in a great position and service was very friendly.
- BARRERE (10/5): Bon accueil, hotel bien situe - Hotel agreable bien situe calme, grande chambre confortable.
