Guest Reviews
- Lu (7/5): Very special - It is a quite particular accommodation, run by an elderly couple, who share their home with the guests. It has only 2 guest rooms, a shared toilet, and a shared bathroom.
What made the stay worth it was the experience of a real, typical Japanese home, located in the forest. A 7-Eleven shop is about 8 minutes walk.
The couple is very friendly and really helpful, but also kind of over-caring. As usual in Japan, we had to take off our street shoes at the entrance, had to put on slippers, but the slippers had to be taken off before entering the guest room.
The wheels of our suitcases were wiped clean to prevent them from making the house floor dirty.
The breakfast was around 10US$ per person, not free as Google says, but very good & healthy, exactly what I, as a Western guest, loved, and we even got rolls to prepare for later.
From this house, a 15-minute walk brought us to a great viewpoint to see Mount Fuji. Worth to get up very early to see the sunrise shining on Mount Fuji from the left side. The room to take a shower was cold. The house is mainly heated with kerosene heaters. But they also have an electric heater for the guest room, so we didn't use the kerosene heater.

- Riana (10/5): Like my second home - Comfortable, clean room and very friendly hosts. Property is a very attractive cottage home, close to all the major Fuji attractions. Breakfast is always a feast. Mamasan and Papasan are fantastic hosts. I will definitely stay with them again when I visit. Nothing
- Alessandro (10/5): - Very friendly owners
- Adrian (10/5): -
- Oscar (10/5): - Autenticidad y hospitalidad.
- Microcut (10/5): - It truly feels like coming home. Not only is the location absolutely perfect—with beautiful sights and plenty of things to do just around the corner—but the hosts, mamma-san and pappa-san, make the experience unforgettable. They are incredibly warm, kind, and go above and beyond to help with anything you might need.
Their genuine hospitality creates such a welcoming and comfortable atmosphere that it’s hard not to feel completely at ease from the moment you arrive. Everything is thoughtfully arranged, and you can really sense the care and pride they put into making your stay special. It’s the kind of place you leave with a smile—and a strong desire to come back.
This is my third visit over the past 11 years, and it says everything about the place that I keep coming back.
- Dan (10/5): Great hosts, great location, great house - They are sooo nice! Nothing

- Overby (10/5): - Mama-san and Papa-san are very sweet and helpful. You can order breakfast which is huge and delicious. The Lodge is super cozy and homey.
We would recommend this place for anyone who enjoy staying at a local place with enthusiastic and kind hosts.
Also, we recommend that you rent a car in Fujikowaguchiko since the Lodge is a bit away from town.

- Emily (10/5): - Our stay at Lodge Stack Point was lovely. The hosts, Mama-San and Papa-San, were so friendly and provided us with great recommendations. The room was perfectly comfortable and the location was tranquil.
- Ruben (10/5): Welcoming place to relax amid lush forest - Set amid the forest near Mt Fuji, this lovely and quiet place is a breath of fresh air from the crowded Fujikawaguchiko area. The hosts are very welcoming, have very good recommendations for beautiful Mt Fuji views (Tsūgenji temple during Golden Hour!) and make sure you lack for nothing. Really loved our stay with our 1,5 year old daughter.

- Chantale (10/5): Perfect Stay! - Mama-san and Papa-san were perfect hosts and incredibly accommodating. We only stayed for one night traveling through, but it was well worth it. Our room was comfortable and the lodge had a cozy atmosphere. Highly recommend getting the breakfast-super yummy! Thank you for making sure we got to our bus on time in the morning!

- Ciaran (10/5): Home away from home! - Our family of 5 loved this place! Mama-san and Papa-san took very good care of us. Breakfast were absolutely delicious, thoughtfully made. We have a rental car, this location was ideal for exploring the Mt Fuji and surrounding fhe area around it. Their rommendations for local restaurants were excellent! 11 out of 10 for Stack Point ❤️ None
- Erwin (8/5): Very good - We were greeted by a very warm welcome upon arrival by the couple! The house was very homely, felt like we were staying at a relative's house for a short visit. Papa-san was quick to guide us about the nearby park with amazing views and photo-ops of Mt. Fuji! It was magical. At night, he would stay up with us and offered us drinks (chargeable of course) and it was just chilling in the cabin. The breakfast was also great so please avail at least once! The smell of kerosene from their warmers, it was a bit much for me.
- Ludwig (10/5): Exceptional - Very good breakfast, the perfect start in the day. The couple running the place is very nice and makes the already great stay even better. Of course, it is a bit remote, but very quiet and tranquil.
- Alexander (10/5): - Excellent vibe as well as customer service!
- Logan (10/5): - The owners were lovely
- Maun (8/5): Very good - Host was really friendly and welcoming. Love the location. The bed was uncomfortable. It could use an extra layer of foam under the futon for cushion. The bunkbed wasn’t the most comfortable but for the overall accommodation and price given the location it was okay. Other than that we had a great stay.
- Laura (10/5): You will feel right at home in Mamma San and Papa San’s lodge. They take such good care of their guests and the lodge is - Mamma San and Papa San were very helpful and gave us great tips on what to see and do Nothing
- Rylee (10/5): One of the highlight of our 2 week stay in Japan - Mamasan and Papasan were up there with the highlight of our trip, they were beyond polite and generally helpful with so much and their warmness radiated and made our stay feel very much like a healthy home
- Harley (10/5): Really amazing experience - I don't think it's possible to overstate the experience we had staying at Lodge Stack. Our little family of 4 really felt totally at home and comfortable with Papa-san and Mama-san. You're welcomed into their home, where there's an array of "things" - little keepsakes, random decorations, photos, trinkets, and other things you'd expect to see in someone's home. The hosts were ready to attend to every need that we had, and we really enjoyed the time spent in the main dining/sitting area, chatting with other guests just enjoying the atmosphere.
I'd really recommend this place to anyone, but we found it extremely family-friendly. There is a 7/11 at the end of the main road as well, so you're not too far from food or snacks. It's also easily in walking distance of a giant playground with a great view of Mt Fuji. I wish we stayed here longer!
- Mark (10/5): You should stay here - Mumma and Papa-san were super accommodating and made the stay an absolute treat. It was a lovely property with great breakfast. Both took great interest in our trip and would spend time to talk about what we had done and what’s too come. Thanks for the great stay!
- Rachel (10/5): Papa-san & Mama-san are superb, just like what everyone said in their reviews. Feel at home here. The breakfast was - Away from the city, surrounded by greenery. None
- Lindsay (10/5): - Very excellent place. The host and hostess are very kind and sweet, and very knowledgeable about the area. They pointed us to some great places to eat and sightsee, and (if it wasn't raining) places to see Mt. Fuji. Also, a really cool park with lots and lots of cherry blossoms and huge bushes full of azalea flowers. They're within easy walking distance of the town, in a very quiet but beautiful neighborhood. Also not far from some really great caves. We wish we could have stayed longer, but we will be back next time we come to Japan.
- Thedeckie (10/5): A comfortable cosy place we'll definitely stay there again. - The hosts are amazing, very friendly and informative, they answered all my questions about local attractions and offered some really good suggestions about things to do. We ended up following their suggestions and had a wonderful stay. The breakfast was incredible and there was enough food to even satisfy my 2 six foot four twin boys who seem insatiable most meals. Can't think of anything I'd like to change there.
- Elizabeth (10/5): Exceptional - I liked everything, the room was good, and the bathrooms clean and new. The owners were a lovely couple that helpess us in all they can. The place is relaxing, you can go everywhere taking a bus but check on google the hours and know maybe they could be late like 5 a 20 minutes.
I loved how they were with us, I feel so good !
- Tomer (10/5): Exceptional - Great hosts & comfortable and cozy accommodations.
- Grainne (9/5): Superb - Loved the fabulous couple who owned and ran Lodge Stack Point, so friendly and hospitable - it was a pleasure to spend time in their company. Unfortunately we only had one night here but would recommend to other travellers. It’s a remote location but if you have a car it’s convenient for visiting Fuji close by (Apparently there is a bus stop nearby)The local onset is excellent!
- Venus (10/5): Amazing hosts, would stay longer as it exceeded our expectations! - The hosts were so warm, friendly, and caring. They truly differentiated the stay with their hospitality and friendliness. The breakfast was also great - a full course meal, complemented with vegetables which had been lacking in our traveling diet. Quaint home and beautiful ryokan room with comfortable mattress and bedding.
- Rowan (10/5): Exceptional - Wonderful breakfast, great location out of the city. If you have a car it helps but there are some buses. They have great recommendations on nearby stuff to do. Nothing!
- Nicholas (10/5): Unforgettable introduction to Japan. - Mama-san and Papa-san were the best possible hosts for new and returning travellers to Japan. They go out of their way to make your stay entertaining and comfortable. Thank you so much for making our trip memorable!
- Teresa (10/5): Amazingly friendly hosts - Thanks to the amazing hosts and the great breakfast
- Strumpher (10/5): Exceptional - Best breakfast we had in japan! Beds were quite firm but not the worst
- Babak (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nathaniel (10/5): Exceptional -
(10/5): Exceptional -
- Kihun (4/5): Disappointing - Breakfast was good. Noisy, cold.
- Whelan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Martyna (10/5): One of the greatest experiences ever ❤️ - Lodge Stack Point is definitely an exceptional place. Starting from excellent location, through beautiful interior to next level hospitality, it was one of the most amazing things that happened to me during my stay in Japan. Thank you 🙏🏽
- Wei (10/5): Lovely hosts and great value! - Breakfast was good and hearty. Great way to start the day! The location is good if you are driving. There is a playground nearby with a gorgeous view of Mount Fuji. Mamasan and Papasan are the sweetest and friendliest host! They made our stay extra special. Nothing
- Tooba (8/5): Beautiful location and hosts - Breakfast was very hearty and filling although expected some more traditional dish The bed quilts were a little worn out for the price per night
- David (8/5): Of the places we stayed at in Japan this was the nicest and the hosts went out of their way to help - The breakfast was very ample and kept us going during the day and Isamu and Toshiko gave us extra treats which were unexpected but very welcome.
- Sandra (10/5): Exactly what we needed. - This place was amazing. The hosts were so friendly and helpful it really made the trip perfect. We had a traditional Japanese room and I slept so good on the bedding that my back felt great each morning. The area is beautiful and the host are knowledgeable about the sites visitors come to see. We’ll be coming back.
- Anna (10/5): Exceptional - It’s really nice place in japanese style, with really nice people, Mama-San and Papa-San :) It’s like you are at home. :)
Breakfast was also really tasty, but too much for us :D we were full.
- Frances (10/5): Exceptional - Words cannot express how wonderful this lodge is. Mama San and Pappa San treated us like family. The breakfast every morning was delicious. Pappa San even drove us to the station when our bus didn’t arrive. I will be back. Narusawa is a little gem.
Thank you for the memories!
- Christina (10/5): A wonderful place to stay. - The hosts make this place shine. Mama-san and Papa-san are warm and welcoming people who are eager to share information about their country and area. The location is wonderful, with views of Mount Fuji just a short walk away. Mama San's breakfasts are delicious and have a variety of treats to choose from.
- Xiaohui (7/5): Good -
Matane
See you soon
- Concepcion (10/5): The owners of the lodge really make this a unique accommodation that we’ve never experienced before. - The accommodation was very comfortable and really made you feel at home. The owners were very nice and went out of their way to make our stay there in Narusawa enjoyable, from giving us recommendations on where to eat to even handing us discount coupons.
- Sol (10/5): Exceptional -
- Karin (9/5): Superb -
- Alexandre (10/5): Perfect stay in Fujisan five lakes region - This lodge is owned by a lovely sweet couple. We felt welcomed and had really genuine interactions with them using google translate to communicate. They recommended an onsen nearby that was exceptional. We also had breakfast both mornings at the lodge and it was very good with generous portions. Everything was perfect!! We recommend this place without hesitation. Nothing.
- Ruben (10/5): A piece of the heaven in the gate of Mt Fuji - Everything was great. Mamasan and Papasan are the best!! You feel like home. Ultra recommended , don’t hesitate if you are planning to go to the area
Thank you so much for your kindness and for the tips to view Mt Fuji completely alone 😍 Nothing
- Michael (8/5): Nice stay - Old wooden lodge in Japanese style with friendly owners how try to help. The breakfast (1500 Yen) was great even if it was a bit messed-up by ketchup. The room is small but for a night sufficient and pure Japanese style (Tatami/Futon). The bathroom and toilets are shared and it feels like using the owners area. Parking space at the lodge is limited. The owners are very friendly, but it is hard to communicate if you don't speak Japanese. The owner tried hard and wanted to give hints where to go, but again not easy to follow what he's going to intend by it. There will be no dinner served. The restaurant recommend was about 6 km away and when we arrived there it was fully booked. We had to try 3 other places until we go one to serve us. Would be great if the owner can help with reservation or check if there is space.
住宿提供的早餐非常豐富而且美味;老闆跟老闆娘與民宿本身也很可愛;
- Jacalyn (10/5): Exceptional -
- Jonathan (10/5): Exceptional - Extraordinarily friendly and hospitable hosts - a lovely couple who treated us like their own children
- Karissa (9/5): Superb -
- Diana (10/5): Exceptional hosts - The hosts were so kind and attentive, they made us feel like visiting relatives in the countryside. Our girls had their birthday on the last day of our stay, our lovely hosts prepared an amazing breakfast and even made a pancake cake! They always asked what do we like to eat. Nothing
- Gabriel (10/5): A sweet nice close to the Fuji mount - The couple who managed the hotel was very very kind
- Dina (10/5): Comfy rooms, the hosts were incredibly hospitable and helpful. - There was a lovely view of the forest from the room, the bunk beds were very comfy, and we were provided with multiple pillows. The room was very big, and the main dining room was very nice with a lovely fireplace. All in all, a very cozy and lovely place to stay.
- Yechu (10/5): Super friendly - The boss and lady boss are super friendly! Breakfast is very big and delicious. Sure will come again next time. No
- Tijmen (10/5): Book this place! - The location of the Lodge is very convenient. You are close to many pretty viewpoints for Mt. Fuji and the Aokigihara forest is basically next door.
The accommodation is absolutely lovely. I had a warm welcome of jazzy music, warmth from the inside and mellowing lights comforting me. The interior of the building is decorated with all sorts of antiques. The structure of the building is also nice, with spacious rooms and an amazing living room.
By far, what made my stay the best were Papa-san and Mama-san. An adorable couple that built this stay over 34 years ago.
They told me they've done lots of renovation and painting themselves etc.
The breakfast was also insanely tasty, yum!
These kind-hearted people were here to accommodate every need i had. They brought me tea, wanted to drive me to my busstop, shared stories and sweets with me, helped me figure out my bus, let me store my luggage (even though my check-out had already happened) and so much more that i cannot begin to list here.
Truly, i admire them for their efforts and kindness.
Thank you, Lodge Stackpoint! Nothing. My stay here was perfect.
- Johnny (10/5): Exceptional -
- Thashmaie (10/5): Exceptional - We loved everything about this place, the location, their beautiful house, the hosts who were so lovely, caring and friendly. They did everything to make us feel comfortable. Wish we could have stayed here longer. Definitely going back here when I'm in Japan next!
- Ngweili (10/5): Exceptional -
- Patrick (10/5): Just great as a getaway from Tokyo - Really nice, helpful owners. Feels more like being at home. Great Onsen within 10 mins walk. Close to nature. If you don’t have a car, you’ll be relying on very infrequent buses to get around.
- Marco (10/5): The hosts took great care of us. Reception, evening snack after onzen and breakfast were perfect. -
- Alexander (10/5): Exceptional -
- Alexander (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sheng (9/5): Homely stay near Mt. Fuji! - Papa and Mama san were extremely welcoming and made our visit very enjoyable. They showed us the local onsen for a traditional experience as well as the local hiking trails. The communal table allowed us to meet other people and gain more insight into places to visit and food to eat! With other guests in the lodge you may hear walking and talking at night.
- Chase (10/5): Exceptional - The couple was so kind and helpful. I liked it all
- Daniel (10/5): Warm stay - wonderful stay. Mamasan and Papasan were very friendly and accomodating. They were also super helpful for our climb of Mt Fuji.
- Shai (10/5): Exceptional - Owners are extremely nice and the location is great
- Weronika (10/5): Exceptional - The place is very cosy and peaceful. The hosts are wonderful, they were treating their guests like their own family, checking all the time if we needed anything and indulging us with cold tea and coffee. I also recommend the nearest onsen, especially in the evening when it' s not that hot.
- Vladilen (10/5): Exceptional -
- Zuzanna (10/5): Wonderful owners! - Very friendly owners, felt like coming back home :) We had a nice, japanese style room. Everything was cosy and clean. Wondereful place to stay near mt Fuji for an affordable price.
- Barnes (10/5): Wow! Our happy place. - The best place to stay in Saiko lake area. Papa and Mama San were amazing hosts. They treated us like family with plenty of tea, coffee and cake! Not to mention, their breakfast is amazing and worth the extra cost. The Japanese style rooms were beautiful and the whole place was cosy. There was an amazing onsen nearby too. Nothing except the WiFi was a bit temperamental.
