- Sandra (10/5): - Everything in the room. No vegan food available in the restaurant.
- Karen (10/5): -
- Caren (10/5): Brilliantly quirky, excellent food, friendly service. -
- Kathleen (9/5): - Great food, friendly stuff, good location. V. comfortable bed, especially good when you've spent the day walking. Loads of hot water. Nothing really - bath was slightly sunken so a bit tricky if you're getting on a bit!

- Kelly (10/5): Brilliant stay very comfy very clean and great breakfast and great staff - Me and my partner stayed for the weekend I had my own dietary requirements and brang my own food the staff couldn’t do more for me they were absolutely brilliant I have never stayed anywhere and felt so welcome will definitely stay again 5 stars from us Can’t say there’s anything we didn’t like
- Kathy (9/5): Excellent value, extremely comfortable and clean. Delicious meal and super helpful staff. - Charming style for the pub, restaurant, and our room. Finishing touches: no chair to sit at the table in our room. The mirror should be hung in a well lit area. No coat hooks by the door. The timing of your emails about check in, and check out needs review. I received them at times that didn’t match where we were in our stay with you. Honestly these are the only constructive things we can think of for improvement - everything was wonderful!
- Steven (9/5): I couldn't fault it, lovely staff, rooms and food. -
- Lance (9/5): - The White Hart was an ideal choice.
Hotel and staff were great
- Sue (10/5): Awesome and if we come back to Dorchester I’ll - Dinner was lovely
Check in great and quick
Had to leave early in morning so missed breakkie but so accommodating
Really comfy bed Couldn’t find a thermostat as room was hot !
- Wigley (8/5): - Breakfast Bed bit hard
- Lesley (9/5): Perfect location in the heart of the village - Quirky and busy room, not quite to my taste but some would love it. Think going on safari in a Georgian lady's boudoir! Sizewise, it was fine, comfy bed, tea and coffee making facilities and hanging space. It got quite warm but a fan is provided. Free on-site parking and a lovely breakfast. Staff were all really friendly and helpful. Easy check-in process. Lovely old building, charming but beware low beams and uneven floors. WiFi wasn't always too robust. Knob missing on toilet handle, so just the bare inner metal mechanism. Window didn't shut properly. Nothing major, but probably simple fixes to elevate our stay.

- Lorraine (9/5): Oxford weekend away - Very comfortable spacious room with drench shower. Fresh towels each day. Good location. Friendly staff and a very rare full length mirror.... Just a suggestion - remove some of the big furniture in the bar as when busy it was hard to manoeuvre around.
- Martin (9/5): - The room and hotel is very clean. The room was very quiet. The hotel building is very old with exposed beams and had a quirkiness, about it. The bar and dining room are lovely as are the staff. The breakfast was excellent and the staff very attentive. A very comfortable, excellent place to stay. Thank you all. Nothing.

- Conrad (10/5): Great - Old but modern Great
- Lawrence (9/5): Great customer care at this lovely, welcoming hotel offering easy access to nearby Oxford. - This is a lovely hotel with truly delightful staff. Dawn the receptionist gave excellent assistance with my booking and assigned exactly the right room. She followed up on the initial contact with emails. Jonathon also looked after us well - nothing seemed too much trouble. The disability room was exactly that with ample space, a wet room and even arm chairs. Breakfast was served by charming staff and included quality ingredients. Parking was relatively easy though the Car Park is accessed by a lane beyond the hotel frontage.
We very much liked that it was a short car journey to pick up the Oxford Park and Ride. We also loved Dorchester village itself with the stunning Abbey and walks near the Thames. Henley is close by as are a number of National Trust venues. The furniture is traditional and in-keeping with the style and age of the building. It is not modern, but we preferred this.
- Caroline (9/5): Great place to get together with friends -
- Bert (9/5): Very friendly well located hotel. - Great location. Rooms were all different as opposed to chain hotels where everything is the same. Nothing
- Kathryn (10/5): Good place to stay - Great location, fantastic staff, big rooms, good breakfast. No elevator but the gentleman at the desk helped us with our luggage The beds were a little uncomfortable but not enough that I couldn’t sleep
- AJM (7/5): Prima alternatief voor Oxford - Mooie gerenoveerde kamer , prima ontbijt en avondeten Het was aan het begin van de avond nogal gehorig
- Susanna (10/5): Could not have been better. An incredible stay in a beautiful hotel in a lovely village location! - What an absolute Gem this place is!! The rooms are beautiful - ours was decorated in a funky black and white design - our bathroom was really cool too!! Jonathan and his team were all friendly, efficient and couldn’t be more helpful. If there were a 7 out of 5 score - they would get it!! Nothing
- Phil (10/5): If you want quaint and charming then this is perfect! - Location and historical value Nothing really
- Jacqueline (9/5): Lovely place, would definitely book again - Full of character, clean, friendly staff The child bed had a really thin mattress, just ok…
- Alan (8/5): Amazing location and quaint hotel. - Location, presentation, staff and breakfast. Really quaint hotel. Lots of spider webs in the ceiling. Loose and cracked floor tiles in the on suite. The basin in the on suite had a very large crack across it.
- Itxaso (7/5): - Staff were very kind and helpful all along. The building is beautiful inside and out, it obviously has a lot of history. The room was basic, features were old. This is in contrast with the lobby which I loved.
- Marcin (8/5): Highly recommend, very good value - Nice quirky building Bit noisy at the night, vent in a bathroom very noisy
- Tara (8/5): Friendly and excellent value - The welcoming staff are amazing here. Breakfast is great, with attentive staff. We love that our dog is very welcome here. The room we stayed in this time (room 10) wasn't as lovely as previous rooms we have stayed in.
- Paul T - Finlor (9/5): -
- Scott (8/5): I stayed 1 week and it was that good I booked to stay the following week whilst working away. - They cleaned and made the rooms everyday without having to ask. Signal was bad in the area. Nothing to do with the hotel.
- John (9/5): Very enjoyable revisit - Easy parking, quiet, scenic location and friendly staff. Nothing
- Robert (9/5): Lovely stay very good value for money have stayed before and will stay again. - Full of character you get a real sense of history staying here. Nothing really.

- m4gu1re (10/5): Awesome Dog Friendly Boutique Hotel - This place was a superb find, a stunning boutique hotel that welcomes dogs. We met Jonathan at reception who gave us and our dog Bentley the warmest of welcomes and a home made dog treat for Bentley. We popped our bags into the well decorated and spacious room before heading to the bar for a couple of drinks before dinner. Staff and locals were super friendly and dinner was delicious. We shared a charcuterie board then had Sea Bass and Sanjay’s famous butter chicken. Deserts were trio of ice cream and burnt sugar rice pudding, all delicious. After a good nights sleep in a very comfy bed we had a perfectly cooked full English breakfast before heading off. Huge thanks to Jonathan and team here who made us feel at home, welcomed and well cared for. We’ll definitely be back soon!
- Richard (8/5): Very pleasant and friendly place - Friendly and cosy place. Breakfast was excellent. The breakfast room/restaurant is very nice too.
Very convenient for parking.
It is in the centre of picturesque/quaint Dorchester.
It was immaculately clean. The double bed was slightly uncomfortable
- Parr (10/5): - Everything, food was great, the room was perfect size and comfortable, the staff were great, we can't fault it. We love this hotel. The fact that we couldn't stay another night, but we both have work commitments, but we will be back.
- Joanne (7/5): - Good breakfast. Clean room. Plenty of tea/coffee/milk in room. Limited space in car park.
- Jackie (8/5): Beautiful location - Nice pub. Lovely breakfast in the restaurant.
Room was nice and clean and bathroom was nice. Two small points, bathroom could perhaps have something in it to place your toiletries and they should really have some hand soap on the sink.
- Mark (9/5): - Loved the place so full of character huge comfy bed nice area to watch the tele dog was made very welcome breakfast was nice the dining room was so nicely presented food in the bar was delicious the area was stunning shirt drive to Oxford That we couldn't have stopped longer
- Phil (10/5): Value with class. - Fantastic location near to our sons, great food and exceptional breakfast, friendly staff. Nothing really
- Jane (9/5): Fantastic - really lovely stay, thank you - Lovely staff, really comfortable and clean room with fantastic food. We had a super night, thank you. N/a
- Martin (10/5): Brilliant Service -
- lynne (10/5): Lovely stay in old quaint old coaching inn. - Such a quaint property, lovely and cosy pub with old fires and great food.
Our four poster bedroom was quirky and warm, lovely clean bathroom.
Evening meal and breakfast were both excellent,
Thankyou,
- Teresa (9/5): Good location and food. Great staff - Good location. Good food. Good staff Bed not very comfortable unfortunately

- Snell (8/5): Best place to stay in Dorchester! - Friendly staff. Good breakfast. Comfortable and clean room. Dog friendly.
- David (10/5): - Our scores reflect our opinion of this regularly visited hotel
- Olivia (10/5): Loved our stay - Welcoming staff, very helpful and friendly.
Easy to use,
Spacious room
Good quality breakfast Shower was a bit too harsh for me
- Michael (9/5): Brilliant weekend stay. - Great Welcombe, very comfy room and the food both evening meal and breakfast was excellent.
- marc (8/5): -
- DAVID (8/5): excellent value and lovelt food/beer - The staff where very good even the ones who where obviously new to the job.
room was very clean and warm the only mild observation we had is that the room was in need of some tlc, cracks in the wall and worn carpet
- christelvet (6/5): Mixed, sadly - Brilliant area for walking, we booked for the good bed and breakfast deal and the excellent local walks.
The manager greeted us on arrival - he was effusive and very nice.
Room was nice but cold and stayed that way despite the radiators being on. We live in a cold house and this was colder!
Restaurant in the evening was not a great experience. The lad waiting the table was sweet but inexperienced and seemed to have no backup. We had to help him light the candle! Our table was in a chilly location beside the window.
I had decided to have a starter and dessert, but when it came to dessert despite three of the four options being things that you’d serve with custard, they had run out.a suggestion to pop to the coop over the road for some was met with a frank no from the restaurant/bar manager. On receiving the bill the ‘service charge’ was £12.50 instead of 12.5% which is a very sneaky way of taking more money from people….we notice as our bill was small, I wonder how many don’t notice, for our bill that was 28%, so quite hefty.
Very disappointed we pointed this out, to be presented with the ‘correct’ service charge, when we advised we weren’t willing to pay any service charge but offered to speak to the manager as the lad was looking very uncomfortable, all that happened was he was sent out with yet another bill, this one with no service charge on it. We made sure to be clear it wasn’t him we had the issue with, just the issue of overcharging. Shame, it really took the shine off my first night away in six months. Thank goodness breakfast was good and the walking superb.
- christel (5/5): Disappointed - Breakfast was super. Day manager lovely Room was cold. I mean our house is a draughty rural house and it was colder than that.
Also they tried a sneaky scam of charging £12.50 rather than 12.5% on our dinner bill, very uncool, as that was 28% of our actual bill. And they had no custard and were unwilling to pop across to the coop to pick some up (it’s literally opposite the hotel) so I was unable to have dessert
- Charlotte (10/5): Exceptional - I just love this place! It’s so welcoming and friendly and Jonathan is just awesome! So dog friendly, food is delicious, shower was drenching and powerful!
- David (10/5): - My scores demonstrate my complete satisfaction as do our regular bookings
- Jeffery (10/5): - Lovely hotel in a superb location food was excellent Lovely large room and super dog friendly the staff were excellent friendly and very approachable would definitely recommend and stay there again There was nothing not to like
- Alexandra (10/5): A perfect gateaway in the country side 🍃 - Everything was perfect !
A very nice place in a very cute village.
We had a wonderful New Year’s Eve.
The staff was friendly and welcoming.
- Rosanja (10/5): - De locatie, de uitstraling, het personeel, gastvrijheid, echt alles! We komen zeker terug!
Ruime keuze in ontbijt, onwijs aardig personeel die alles doet voor de gasten. Absoluut niks!
- gail (10/5): Fabulous - Atmosphere Dinner and breakfast finished too early .
We went to pub across the road for dinner

- Experience621277 (8/5): Another enjoyable stay at The White Hart, Dorchester on Thames - We have been regular visitors over the years and always enjoy our stays at The White Hart. The hotel staff are all excellent at hosting large groups efficiently and with good humour.
We found our room warm and comfortable on a cold December weekend.
The evening meal was up to the standard we expect from previous stays and nthe service is excellent. We like the remodelling of the restaurant.
After a good sleep on a very comfortable bed we had a simple breakfast as at home, but our friends were enjoying a variety of hearty cooked breakfasts.
We plan to stay again at The White Hart in 2026.
- Sandor (9/5): -
- Geoff (10/5): - Great clean and warm. Friendly staff and very accommodating Nothing negative
- Thomas (8/5): Great pub accommodation in a quiet village - Friendly historic pub with clean rooms and a great breakfast. Parking was good but difficult to find. Noisy bread delivery at 3am woke all residents on the street facing side of the pub.
- Ann (9/5): Relaxing Short Break in a Lovely Pub ! - The White Hart is a lovely base for a visit to Oxford, set in a very beautiful village, near to Oxford, very easy park and ride. Many nice walks in the area, Blenheim Palace only 1/2 hour away.
The staff were friendly and welcoming, food both at breakfast and in the evening was delicious (especially the steak pie ! )and varied so everything for all tastes and diets . Cosy bar with log burner perfect for a winter’s evening. Room was warm and spacious, with a huge comfortable bed. Heaps of storage and a powerful shower with big fluffy towels. Very easy to park either in the car park on street with no restrictions. Also a little Co op opposite if you need any bits while you are away ! I’d definitely recommend., to anyone looking for a relaxed atmosphere in the Oxfordshire countryside. Nothing very happy with everything
- Morag (10/5): - Very helpful when checking in with a room change request
Excellent dinner and breakfast
Friendly staff and lovely atmosphere
- B2951WJbrendah (10/5): Perfect place to stay - Another lovely stay at The White Hart, everything was just perfect and a big thank you to the whole team. Rooms are wonderful as is the food the ambience / and of course the team
- SmaltRos (10/5): A country escape! - I recently enjoyed a wonderful stay at the White Hart Hotel, and it was the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The room was beautifully presented and incredibly comfortable, offering a cosy place to unwind. The staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive, which made the experience feel even more special.
The food was another highlight—delicious, well-prepared, and full of flavour! Also Walk distance to the village !

- freddyw647 (8/5): Comfortable and historic establishment. - A comfortable and historic hotel, our bedroom was spacious with a decent bathroom. Welcome was warm and friendly, breakfast and dinner very tasty with excellent service.
I woul suggest the bedroom needs a touching up, especially in the bathroom. The desk swivel chair's arm covers were loose and the chair rather rickety.
We had breakfast around 8.20am but the buffet table had not been topped up. One croissant and 2 pastries only.
However, I would happily return if in the area again.
- Amanda (9/5): Lovely place to stay friendly staff ideal location for us - Friendly staff very comfortable room and bed
- ianmO5168NR (4/5): Should have eaten at home. - Booked for dinner in the restaurant at 6.30. I ordered a steak, but was told that the main menu was not being used that evening, and that we would have to order off the pre-concert menu (a concert was being held down the road). The choices were limited, so we both went for the mushroom soup, cottage pie, and sausages and mash. Followed by stick toffee pudding. The soup was bland, and the cottage pie looked like a ready meal. My mash was probably out of a packet. The seasonal veg was one piece of stringy broccoli for me, and half a carrot for her. The sticky toffee pudding came with no custard, cream, or ice-cream, and was so hot it burnt our tongues. As we were getting ready to leave they then brought out the main menus. The only good thing about it, was that the staff were pleasant.
- johntX8862FJ (2/5): Impossible to sleep - Don’t book this hotel on a Saturday if you want a decent nights sleep. Loud thumping music until 1.30 am. Not advised that it was music/party night when booking. Absolutely awful.
- Melanie (9/5): A lovely stay in a beautiful village. - Friendly, quiet, comfortable, nice breakfast.
- Johanna (9/5): -

- Caroline (10/5): A lovely stay in a quintessential English village, beautiful surroundings, a cosy room and a tasty breakfast - Loved the fact it was old, but quirky and didn’t feel tired Creaky floorboards, but not much you can do about that!
- Jason (10/5): Fantastic friendly hotel - Great friendly hotel. Food was amazing. Nothing
- James (10/5): -
- dave (8/5): - Location Tall people will suffer, but not much the business can do to change that, I just had to duck a lot
- Michael (10/5): White Hart Hitel - Parking area was nicely tucked and I felt it very safe. The room was great, clean and very comfy. And the staff were very friendly.
