The location is in the nicest part of Kigali - great to run or walk in. All the loveliest people in the city seem to work at this hotel. After a long, hot dusty day I really valued a nice clean “home” to come back to. Nothing was too much trouble for the team. The photos on the bookings page look different to the current location (I think it’s moved recently) but should probably be updated.

Very obliging staff, an enormous room with a balcony perfect for sunset . the sort of place you could stay for a day or a month and if I come back to Kigali I won’t even look anywhere else. Great value for the price. There was a music festival nearby the night I was there which made it hard to sleep- not the hotels fault! And it was very quiet at other times.

Restaurants, shopping and barbershop are also nearby. And the hotel staff are extremely friendly and helpful too. I am not a fan of TV but I like to watch my football matches on TV. Unfortunately, there was no TV in the room or around the facility.

It was difficult for us to fall asleep at night because there was always someone talking on the phone outside, and we could hear the alarm clock from the room next door in the morning. Also, you need to ask for the water heater to be turned on. If you don’t, there will be hardly any hot water.

- Emma (7/5): Good - This was my second stay at the OMX Kimi hotel, and I would definitely recommend. Mainly the breakfast and location are great, and the staff is very kind and helpful. The rooms are basic, so don't expect a super fancy hotel room, but they have everything you would need, are spacious and clean. One thing to note is that there is no shampoo, just a solid bar of soap, so make sure to bring something. Also, I was a bit disappointed about the pricing of the shuttle service to the airport, especially as a solo traveller, 30 USD is a lot of money compared to the normal rates of taxis around Kigali.

- Sarah (9/5): Great value in quiet location - Really enjoyed my stay - great value. Location was quiet, and decent coffee and food places around. Iron and hair dryer were also available - just needed to ask at reception. When I arrived early and my room wasn’t ready, they let me have an extra breakfast while I waited. If I had to pick something - the room was a little worn in places. But still clean and overall good value- would happily stay there again.

- Jan (9/5): Nice. Worth the money. - Nice staff. Really good breakfasts. Security and early check-in. Waiting time for pancakes. First day it was 25minutes, second day it was 40 minutes and we have been the only guests. We have been missing extra towels for hands.

- Annabelle (8/5): Nice hotel, expected a bit more for the price. - Great location close to restaurants and bars. Free laundry service (which is great!) but may take up to three days so a bit difficult to plan. Rooms fine but basic for the price. Squeaky bed one night.
- Krist (8/5): A nice place to stay - The hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood but very near to various restaurants, cafes, bars and gym. It’s just 5-min walk to Rubia Coffee and Now Now Rolex, 2-min walk to Mamba and Sundowners and 20-min walk to Kigali Heights Mall. The staff is very helpful especially in getting/instructing boda (motoraxi) drivers. I stayed in the budget double room for 2 weeks and it’s very good. The bed and pillows are comfy, there’s mosquito net, electric fan (no AC but it’s ok for me), and work station (wooden table & chair). There’s a rod where you can hang your clothes and an open cabinet. The bathroom is good too. There’s hot water and he water flow in the shower is strong. There was an issue with the water one night but it was fixed the following morning. The towel is soft too (seems like it’s new). The laundry is free but it will take 3 days unless you request to have it available earlier (not sure if there’s additional charge though). The internet connection is good. I am working remotely at night and didn’t have any issues during zoom calls. I just noticed that during the morning (around 9am), it tends to be slow but I don’t have any issues about that since it’s not my working hours. There are also common areas where you can work. The breakfast is exceptional. The buffet breakfast has coffee, tea, african coffee, oats, homemade yogurt, bread, boiled eggs, samosa, squash, soup and fruits. There’s also an ala-carte option. The green juice is must try. There was an issue with my booking because I was charged with the booking that I cancelled but I got refund after contacting OMX and booking.com customer support. Kudos to Joy and all the staff. I had a great stay. The sound proofing is poor. You can hear people on the next room or when people open the door or walk on the stairs. If you’re a light sleeper or sensitive to noise, it might be an issue but it’s ok for me.

- Mouillefarine (2/5): miserable - location, good bed no closet , poor bathroom , no isolation , you can hear what your neighbors are saying , white curtains wake up with the sun room not ready at 16 h 45 , asked to be called at 19 h 00 , receptionist never showed up , no service whatsoever , i will not tay there anymore , there is so many hotels in the area
- Laura (6/5): Pleasant - The staff was very friendly and trying. The rooms are cute. Breakfast was amazing. Large rooms. Great location. Would recommend the rooms with balcony as the others seem quite gloomy. The first day, warm water wasn't working, also after I followed up and was ensured it now would work. When it was raining, it was leaking into my room but I was luckily given another room. Windows were cracked. Toilet paper wrapping was stuffed in between the window frame. I think the hotel used to be nice but now is a bit run down. Value-for-money is not given. If it was a cheaper hotel, then the above would be acceptable, but for USD 50-70 a night, I expect more.
